Stepladder was the most perfect wedding venue we could have ever asked for. The hilltop venue and ceremony site have the MOST epic views on the coast and combined with 2 large houses included, we were able to have our wedding party and family stay onsite before and after the event. We pushed the 100 person limit and, even so, were able to have a seamless process of delivery/pickup by the rental company and passenger shuttles. Jill is an incredible property manager and was there to answer any question and always entertained us and guests leading up to the wedding with warm hospitality, cheese and treats, and of course goats! We did a very DIY wedding and it was so easy being able to stay onsite. We even were able to pay for a few extra nights in the hilltop houses to be able to prepare before the wedding. I keep hearing from all our guests that it was the most beautiful venue they had ever been to. If you want the picturesque central coast wedding, stepladder is the perfect choice.
Working on this property was a great experience. Jill met with us and gave us a wonderful site visit of the goats, vacation rentals, along with the ceremony/reception spaces. She even surprised us with a lovely charcuterie to snack on while we discussed our event. Throughout the planning process she guided us with helpful information and tips to ensure everything ran smoothly. The day of the event, she was available to answer questions and helped when we needed assistance. I would highly recommend Stepladder Ranch to anyone looking for a gorgeous and unique setting for their special event.
The views from this quaint hilltop venue are unmatched anywhere else on the Central Coast. If you're looking for a place to getaway and/or host an event, Stepladder has so much to offer! We highly recommend it!
Stepladder Ranch & Creamery is a fantasy land ~ a working farm, filled with goats, pigs, bees & more ~ all enjoying a natural & sustainable life with an amazing view of the surrounding hills and the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the incredible ranch/barn ~ the accommodations are lovely and absolutely modern/beautiful/spacious (not rustic in the slightest). And if this weren't enough to make you fall in love ~ the staff are kind, knowledgable and hard working. This is a Central Coast gem ~ a retreat just a bit off the beaten path...well, literally on the beaten path...and an experience waiting to happen :)
Our only regret was not booking our stay for longer!! What an unforgettable weekend spending it with family and friends in the most memorable place. Our wedding guests were in awe of the surrounding beauty. Stepladder was so worth the trek to get up there and we felt so lucky to even get to experience this rare piece of well manicured property. It is truly a gift that Stepladder has opened up their gates for couples wanting to find a venue that is off the beaten path. Jill the venue coordinator was so fun & easy to work with. She really made the whole experience enjoyable and as stress free as possible. What a treat getting to have her to refer any questions to and she would answer with a smile every time! You must see this venue to get the real idea of what it feels like to be up there in the privacy of nature all around. We loved sharing it with our closest family & friends for our intimate special day. Book for late spring early summer and you get to be apart of the baby goat season during your time there! Get ready to be blown away, Stepladder has the best venue for that adventurous couple in mind.
Stepladder Ranch were the most thorough and gracious hosts. They were detail oriented but didn't get in the way of our wedding weekend. The venue is absolutely breathtaking and the big house is a dream. We had a perfect unforgettable wedding because of the hard work that Stepladder put in! I can't thank them enough and wish I could do it all over again!
My now husband and I loved to go out to the central coast and camp and vacation when we were dating. When we got engaged we knew we would love to show our friends and family this magical area. When looking for a venue I wanted two things that I thought were really important:
1) A venue with a vacation rental so all of our close friends and family could stay together for the weekend (extra points for a jacuzzi)
2) natural outdoor beauty.
The Stepladder Ranch had both of those things and so much more. The ranch itself is nestled up in the hills of Cambria. Its rolling hills look out on the Pacific Ocean. The ceremony site is what your dreams are made of and it also features a rustic Quonset hut for the reception. There are two guests houses, one main house WITH A JACUZZI and a smaller house nearby. Both houses are clean, cozy, warm and inviting. They’re literally the perfect place to gather. Big kitchens, sweeping views, and big cozy gathering couches and tables. Did I mention the jacuzzi?? Imagine jumping into the jacuzzi after the best night of your life and looking up into a blanket of stars. Pure joy.
Besides the location and amenities, which are all amazing, Michele, who runs the rental with her husband, is a pure joy to work with. She’s responsive, kind, and very knowledgeable about the area. She also won’t talk your ear off about stuff that doesn’t matter. You’ve got enough stuff to deal with around your wedding, the last thing you need is some weird vacation owner who wants to talk to you about politics.
I literally can’t say enough good things about this choice as a venue. You will need to bring a lot of your own stuff or hire a vendor that will. They provided tables, but other than that we had to rent a lot of our own stuff. Not sure if that’s still the case, but it was as of May 2018. However, it was SO worth it. We had the best day of our lives and got to include all of our family in friends in such an intimate way that you just can’t get if you show up at the venue the morning of.
