From our first call with Steve Moody, we knew we would be in great hands with SMEC and didn't need to look any further for our wedding DJ. Every aspect of the planning went smoothly, and Steve & Lori would check in with us regularly to see if we had any questions or needed assistance. We hired SMEC for our ceremony sound as well. We've been to weddings where the microphone goes in & out and it's hard to hear, so we were very pleased and relieved by the flawless ceremony sound. Matt Spence was our reception DJ, and he did a phenomenal job with announcements, wedding party entrances, and keeping our guests on the dance floor all night long. It was a pleasure to work with Matt, Steve, and Lori, and we would highly recommend SMEC!

Steve and his team are fantastic! We hired the Steve Moody Entertainment company for our wedding (to run the ceremony-sound and the reception DJ). Steve and Lori were so organized, helpful, and communicative through the whole planning process. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Steve of Steve Moody’s Entertainment Connection for our wedding in June 2023 in Southern Delaware. Steve is a recommended vendor from my venue and after reading lots of reviews, we decided to give their team a call. From the first time I connected with Steve, he was personable and caring. His rates were very reasonable and him & his team were overly communicative throughout the process. Whenever I had a question or change to wedding plans, I heard back within a day or two. Beyond that, they were on top of all deadlines and sharing wedding tips along the way! I loved that we had a detailed form to full out to ensure the day was tailored to us, with all of our likes, dislikes, requests accounted for. The day of, Steve was on-time, worked well with my other vendors, communicated with me appropriately (i.e. when guests were requesting songs we mentioned not wanting), had fun connecting with my guests, made all the right announcements throughout the evening, and kept the party going! We had people on the dance floor all night long, which is exactly what we wanted. Some DJs can be awkward, but I never felt that with Steve! He told us to “just think of him as another friend we’re hanging out with” and I couldn’t agree with that statement more. Steve and his crew were awesome for our wedding day. Steve was our officiant and DJ and we added the photo booth to our package. Steve was very helpful throughout the wedding planning process. He took time out of his day to give us a phone call and walk through everything with us to make sure everything was perfect and to our expectations. I could not have asked for a better vendor and MC in Steve Moody. His number one priority at all times is that your event goes smoothly and you're happy with the result. His commitment to timely communication is beyond compare; during the consultation stage, he even contacted us from a hospital waiting room (we insisted he take care of his family and contact us later!!) and his team sends emails at regular intervals to make sure you don't miss a thing. He also guarantees a custom fit -- he makes sure the event is a ton of fun (whatever that looks like to YOU). In our experience as wedding guests, other DJs seem to have the final say in which classics get played. We provided a detailed list of songs across all genres and would have been happy to hear a handful... instead, Steve took the time to download ALL of the songs, listen to them, and figured out when they should be played throughout the night for optimal dancing. He played all of my hyper-specific requests (songs one bridesmaid and I danced to in our rooms at age 8, obscure summer camp hits) and blended genres with ease. Our guests LOVED him. One of them booked him for another event before our wedding had even wrapped. Afterward, Steve told my mother that he had never been to a wedding where the dance floor was literally never empty; I told her I didn't believe that because Steve is a masterful DJ and MC and all around fantastic person. Hiring Steve will be one of the best vendor choices you make!

DJ Jim was the absolute life of the party at our wedding! He was so personable and easy to work with which helped our planning process. We made a couple last minute changes and he accommodated all of them without a hitch! Also not only did Steve Moody DJs provide music, but they provided so many links and resources to help us plan the music for different parts of our wedding, prepare for what to expect on the day of, and even help our officiant with tips and tricks for the ceremony. We cannot recommend Steve Moodys DJs and DJ Jim enough! They were such an important part of our special day.

Steve and his team were incredibly responsive and helpful from first contact. We received check in emails from the time of contract up until our wedding week. We LOVED our DJ Jim Baker. He was so great to work with and really knows his stuff. He made sure our introductions were customized to our request, didn’t mess up any names, and kept us on schedule perfectly. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and I know would have been full much longer if our reception time was extended. Jim really knows how to keep the party going. Steve and his team were phenomenal. I was very conscientious about finding the perfect DJ, because a DJ can make or break your reception. Steve was wonderful to work with, extremely responsive, and went above and beyond to make our reception a success. Multiple guests commented on how great Steve was. I never had to ask him to do anything; he was very perceptive and anticipated any potential issues and addressed them before they even happened. For example, my MOH noticed that not many people had signed our guestbook, so she and a few bridesmaids moved the guestbook to a different area that was more visible. I asked one of them to ask Steve if he could make an announcement to the guests, but before the question even left my mouth, he was already announcing to the guests that anyone who hadn’t signed the book yet could go over to do it. It might seem like a minor thing, but that level of dedication to his profession is SO appreciated after two years of planning and searching for vendors. We also booked a photobooth from Steve, and it was amazing! Our guests had a lot of fun with it. Their photo printer had accidentally broken on the day of, and they upgraded us to the next package and sent us a printed photo book, even though they definitely didn’t have to! What more is there to say? I can’t recommend Steve Moody enough. If you are looking for a DJ, just stop and book them now! It will be one of the best decisions you’ll make in your wedding/event planning.

There’s a reason why Steve Moody has so many positive reviews!! Steve is an expert, there is no doubt about it. From the very beginning, Steve and his team were responsive and professional. I especially loved how they sent periodic emails throughout the planning process just to check in and give little helpful hints! This made planning easy and kept us excited for the wedding! Steve has the planning form down to a science. It was so easy to fill out and plan for all the music throughout the day! Steve even worked seamlessly with our family friend who provided the live music at our ceremony, despite only meeting him that day! That is how you know Steve is truly amazing at his job! They were flexible in the planning process - my husband and I wanted to make our own playlist and that was not a problem at all. Their equipment was new and the team was professional. We had a great experience with Steve Moody Entertainment Connections for our wedding in Stevensville, MD. Our DJ was Matt and he did an awesome job of making sure everything ran smoothly. He called us about a week before the wedding and was very down to earth and easy to communicate with. He made sure he understood everything we filled out in our online form and got to know us a little as a couple, which I think went a long way. During the reception, he played every song that we had listed as our “favorites” and other similar songs. Every single song was great and fit our vibe, and everyone was on the dance floor all night!

Steve did a terrific job and was able to help us through our 4 different wedding dates. Our family and guests are not big dancers, but he was able to keep the party moving. When my grandparents were dancing in the middle of the circle he found me outside so I didn't miss the opportunity to see them dancing. We booked Steve after several family and friends had also used his service, and we couldn’t be more glad that we did! Our original date was set for 2020, but because of the pandemic had to be postponed a whole year. Steve graciously made sure that he’d have someone available to serve us on our new date. The day of our wedding we were surprised to have Steve himself join alongside his other DJ, Tristan. Both were a true joy to work with and helped to make my now husband and I feel calm and prepared throughout the entire day. It truly felt like Tristan and Steve were more than our DJs, but friends helping us get through each part of our big day. I can’t think of a better DJ to hire for your wedding day!

I had the pleasure of working with Steve Moody himself for my wedding. Steve was so attentive to all of my requests and called and texted multiple time just to confirm everything was exactly to my liking. I was very picky about what happened at what particular moment in a song and Steve pulled this off PERFECTLY! He even told me that my wedding was one of the most intricate ones he had ever done :) He was knowledgeable about how to best capture audio for my video given the winds that day, and the music was able to be heard perfectly and every cue was on point (my officiant almost forgot our sand ceremony but Steve rolled with it perfectly!). I even asked him to corral the audience some so that everyone in the party could enter and exit and this was also perfect. In addition to the perfection at my ceremony, my reception was just as amazing. He lined us up and went through and had everyone's names pronounced correctly and even read a little sentence about how we knew each person! I have seen some bad wedding DJs that do not get the audience excited so when I was DJ shopping I mentioned this to Steve and he took it to heart because EVERYONE was standing and cheering when we entered the reception! It was amazing and I could not have asked for better. He also was very personable and made everyone laugh during the reception! We got some many compliments on how funny and lively he was! I also was worried about having to coordinate things myself all night but Steve and his assistant did so much I plum forgot to be stressed and just relaxed and had a great time! Even out exit he made sure everyone was outside for at the very end! Oh, and of course the thing everyone wants to hear when they are looking for a DJ-our dance floor was PACKED ALL NIGHT LONG! I have been to so many weddings where people get up for one song that is good and then they are done and go sit down. Not my wedding. Steve had EVERYONE dancing up until the end of the night! Everyone was so full of energy all night which I credit to Steve getting them excited and getting their spirits up (alcohol helps too). I cannot say enough about how amazing my wedding was because of Steve and I will shout his praises from the rooftops! You will NOT make a mistake hiring Steve FOR SURE!

This company does made the actual wedding as well as the planning incredible! Starting from the beginning, Steve Moody is offering his support and advice through planning tools and staying in touch. You may not realize it, but the soundtrack to your wedding is something you need to think about and make decisions on, because it really does set the mood and theme, as much as your decorations do. A week before the wedding our DJ Matt Spence called us and went through each moment and song choice and made sure he knew what we wanted. We had some different preferences to the typical flow of events and Matt was totally on board. He even called us back to clarify some things and made sure the right parts of songs were played at the right moments. Our dance floor was full the entire night. It’s also not just about song choice, the DJ moves the evening along and keeps you on your timeline. I am so so glad I chose Steve Moody! Steve and Matt made me feel 100% confident through the whole process. Our wedding was a huge success.

Working with Steve Moody entertainment was great. Steve is friendly, organized, and accommodating. All communication and planning was a breeze! The online portal made making music selections and the timeline very easy. Our DJ for our wedding was Jason. He had great energy and kept the dance party going all night! We had a blast!

We had Steve Moody, the owner, DJ our wedding and it couldn't have been any better. Their paperwork before hand was so convenient and really made it easy to convey our desires. We had some unique, bizarre requests. Songs that meant a lot to us as a couple but are not your usual wedding songs. I was so worried that these songs wouldn't be played in favor of more top40. But instead he played EVERYTHING we asked for. and on top of that used our requests to select other songs to play that transitioned perfectly. Everyone was on the dance floor having an amazing time all night long and I credit that to Steve. It was an absolute joy hearing the songs we wanted mixed with awesome songs we hadn't even thought of. On a side note we went to a wedding that had another DJ from the Steve Moody Company, and prior to my own wedding ( I am bias), that wedding had the best dancing and music selection I've ever experience. Convinced us to use the company. So clearly not a fluke. Anyone who uses this company will be incredible please and not disappointed at all.

Steve Moody and team did an EXCELLENT job from the very start. Professional, genuine, organized, patient, caring and sweet are words to describe them. Steve was easy to communicate with from the beginning, setting up phone calls to learn more about not only our wedding, but us as a couple. His planning form made it easy to stay organized and allowed us to be clear about what music we wanted to play and when. Steve helped me pull off a trick dance with my father that everyone raves about. The day of you could tell Steve was enjoying our day just as much as we were which really made it fun. Steve helped keep our timeline of events and frequently came over to us to brief us on what was next coming next. He was a great M.C. Our reception ended at 12am and we had to pull people off the dance floor, including my husbands 86 year old grandparents! Every guest has commented about the awesome music and DJ- as well as the amount of people up and dancing all night. We highly recommend Steve and are so grateful we chose him. My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Steve Moody's Entertainment Connection! From the time we booked with them to the day of our wedding, they were very friendly, helpful, and got in touch with you frequently. Our DJ, Jim Baker, was so awesome! All of our guests had a great time!

When choosing a DJ for your wedding you may be asking yourself two things: Do they play good music? Is the price right? Sure, those are important questions, but let me tell you... a DJ/MC is so much more than that! The real questions you should be asking are: Are they good problem solvers? Will they take my stress and worries into consideration? Are they unique? Those features, among many others, are exactly what Steve Moody has. To say Steve exceeded my expectations is an understatement! You have probably heard it before, but every wedding will have things that go wrong. I knew this would happen at mine last weekend, I just didn't know what they would be. Well, I know what they are now but because of Steve, NOONE else does (except for the internet now-ha). I am ashamed to admit that I made a mistake when signing my DJ contract. Somehow I left off ceremony service. Weeks prior to the wedding, Steve had me fill out a very detailed breakdown of schedule, song requests, announcements etc. He called for a follow up conversation to lock in the details. Toward the end of the conversation, he casually/politely mentioned that he didn't know they were doing the ceremony music but he worked it all out. I know what "worked out" entailed... rearranging schedules, additional equipment, longer commute, and more logistics. His calm demeanor, understanding, and flexibility were so outstanding to me. Weeks before the wedding, this was just the service I needed. Right before my father-daughter dance, my dad went missing (at the bar). Steve really impressed me as he ad-libbed his way through what could have been an awkward/silent wait. He made the moment more special as he told the audience the background of this song and the meaning to us. The introduction was PERFECT and Steve completely did this by the seat of his pants. I don't think you can fully grasp how long it takes to greet all your guests. You hear it over and over but when you actually experience it, you loose a lot of time that you may have planned for dancing/photobooth/eating. Steve and his team did a flawless job of working with the onsite planners to keep us informed of the time but not rush this important part of a wedding. He worked hard behind the scenes to make sure our schedule worked with this delay, all while keeping us happy. Not to mention, the lights, music, and mood were perfect all night!! Hands down BEST DJ around. Thank you Steve and team!!!

We had Jim Baker DJ our wedding - he was so professional and so great! He called a few days ahead just to discuss the schedule briefly and what kind of music we wanted. The day of - some things on the timeline changed - the sunset outside was just too beautiful everyone wanted to go outside and enjoy it! Jim did a great job of getting the party started even with those changes in the schedule and we were able to dance the night away!

Steve and Lori were absolutely great when we needed to book their services. They were so responsive and we had a one-on-one meeting scheduled in no time. It was so relaxed and we felt like we were in such good hands. We ended up having Jim Baker as our DJ for the ceremony and reception at The Oaks and he was wonderful! We are pretty laid back as a couple and don't like to be the center of attention, and they all rolled with it! They were so nice and accommodating to every request we had. There was a minor hiccup with our first dance, but it was really not a big deal at all and Jim was so apologetic and nice about it. We couldn't have asked for a better night--Jim was great with the music selection and getting the party started. He kept people on the dance floor for the entire night! It was perfect! We are so thankful for such an easy process and fun night!

We had Jim Baker from SMEC as our DJ for our Maryland Zoo wedding. He and his assistant did a great job! Setting everything up/reserving our date was easy. That part was handled by Steve, and then Jim reached out to us to get an idea of what kind of music we wanted. We were flaky and indecisive and gave him very little direction, and he still did a great job! The music he played was perfect, and he provided mics for everything seamlessly. Our guests were dancing all night and having a great time requesting songs. (I did hear later that he turned down a request from a guest because I had asked for no country music, which he took very seriously! ) I highly recommend Jim Baker to anyone looking for a DJ who will take the time to listen to your preferences and follow your requests exactly. I would also recommend him to anyone who is as clueless as I was about what kinds of music to play at a wedding, because he will have it covered!

Booking Steve Moody to MC and DJ our wedding was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding! Steve was very responsive and made sure that all of our questions were answered promptly. We spoke on the phone with him, and then met him in person, and he was so easy to work with and so friendly. We were also extremely impressed with the high standards that he holds himself and his business to. We just knew that we would be in good hands with him! Come time to decide on music, we knew what kind of atmosphere we wanted for the cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing but had a hard time putting it into words, or knowing what music would work well, so we turned to Steve. It was like Steve was able to pull our ideas out of our heads and he created an awesome list of music that worked so well together, and got everyone excited! Our dance floor was PACKED the entire night! One of the things that stood out to me the most was how well he listened to the ideas that we had. I had made a comment that I really wanted him to shorten the song for our first dance by having him cut out the second verse, and he had asked me to email him with specific instructions for where to cut the song. Leading up to the wedding, I let myself get overwhelmed by the many other things that I still needed to do, and I forgot to email him. I didn’t remember until the morning of the wedding, by which point I assumed that it was too late and resigned myself to having him play the full song. But to my complete surprise, he came and personally greeted us outside when we arrived at the reception venue, and told me that he had edited the song as I had requested and that he had both the shortened version and the full version ready to play, I just needed to tell him which one I wanted him to use! The shortened version was EXACTLY how I had described that I wanted it! I was a very happy bride! Between Steve and his assistant DJ, they kept the atmosphere so fun and really exceeded our expectations!!

Even before our wedding, Steve Moody was readily available to go over the details for our wedding. He made sure to call us to go over name pronunciations, any last minute details, and to tell us that he wanted to make sure our night went as smooth as possible. He made us feel we could ask him anything to make our night just right. As an MC, he was friendly, open, and super pleasant. He approached us at a couple moments throughout the night to give us a heads up before announcing certain moments to make sure we were ready. I had initially reached out to Steve Moody because my friend had him as a DJ at their wedding years ago, and I'm glad I used him as well, absolutely no complaints!!

Steve Moody's Entertainment is so great! Steve himself is so easy to work with. Once you start talking to him it feels like you've known him forever! Our DJ for our reception was Jim Baker, he did a GREAT job! I would say I was an indecisive bride when it came to some of the traditional dance songs such as the father daughter dance. Jim did a great job helping me pick and was very patient and kind even though I was changing my mind and asking for his advice. During the reception, he was very flexible when cocktail hour started a little late and we added in the penny dance. He was always upbeat and happy! I highly recommend this vendor to anyone!

Steve Moody and his wife Lori are amazing. They are very flexible to work with you in order to make your wedding perfect. If you don't see what you are looking for in their packages, just ask. They will work so hard to get what you are looking for. They even offer a photo booth which is well worth the money. Definitely get the photo booth!!! All the guests had so much fun. Steve kept the party alive. He knew when to play what songs to get people on the dance floor! My wedding would not have been complete without them. Matt Spence was our DJ at our wedding 9/3/16! Matt was a lovely person, professional, and reliable. About two weeks before the wedding, Matt called me and we had a nice conversation going over the questionnaire I had filled out. We went over specific details and song requests. I could tell he genuinely cared about making sure he got to know me a bit. It wasn't a quick call...he took the time to go from start to finish so the day was organized. I appreciated how Matt followed up on certain things. For example, we had one instrumental song we requested for before the ceremony that he initially couldn't find but he made sure he followed up with us and found the exact one we wanted. As for the dancing, we had a mix of older guests and younger guests who have completely different music tastes. Some guests liked Frank Sinatra, some were requesting country line-dancing songs, some wanted Beyoncé, and some wanted 'the booty call' - not my preference! Of course I told my guests they could request whatever but I appreciated how our DJ Matt would try to manage the requests while always going back to my list with our fav songs. I remember thinking how hard it must be to be a DJ when all the guests are different ages with different tastes! Matt did the best job he could and I was happy with how he checked in with us throughout the night! One of the special moments at my wedding was how I told our DJ Matt I didn't want a bouquet/garter toss because that just wasn't 'me' but instead I wanted to use that time to honor my grandparents and their 62 years of marriage. Matt orchestrated the whole surprise just as I asked him to. It was a moment I'll cherish. The whole Steve Moody company is just so professional and helpful. The online resources and videos were helpful during the planning process. It's great how the company goes above and beyond, they don't just book you and then forget about you...they try to help the bride feel excited during the whole planning process. For future brides - One tip I learned from their online resources was that The dance party is wherever the bride and groom are. If you stop, most likely your guests will stop. At one point, my groom wanted to go to the bathroom but I suggested he wait so the dancing wouldn't stop! then I remember thinking 'ugh I'm sweating, I just want to go get ice cream,' but again I was worried to leave the dance floor. And sure enough, it did whenever we stopped! Being a bride and groom can be stressful! Most important lesson I learned is don't be super sensitive because you can't make everyone happy, you probably won't talk to every guest, you might not eat, so enjoy yourself and Focus on YOU TWO and what makes you two happy! Steve Moody was a phenomenal DJ. There is no other band or DJ that could compare. He was interactive with our guests and was a top of the line MC throughout the day. He made sure to announce all of the major parts of the day to all of our guests, which was difficult given that half were indoors and half outside. He worked with us to get all of our music requests and playing the types of music we preferred. He gave us the fun and exciting day we were looking for!

GREAT JOB! Kevin McElwain was amazing and really went above and beyond. We had a fairly casual wedding, and he did a great job organizing everything we wanted to have done.

Once you talk with Steve you immediately feel at ease with your wedding DJ plans. He is very professional, personable and has experience in a wide variety of music. Before our wedding, Steve and his wife Lori checked on us to answer any questions and to make sure we were doing ok. They really made us feel a part of their family. On our wedding night Steve was fun to work with and all of our wedding guests were dancing all night. We would definitely book Steve again for any event we have in the future!

Absolutely killed it as all the guests had nothing but praise. We didn't really pick music other than damages etc. but Jim Baker got the party started and kept it going all night long. I would recommend these guys to anyone and Jim was awesome.

We even ran out of Fireball for the dollar dance and he helped us maneuver around that issue. Let’s face it, as brides we will always stumble across issues when things don’t go according to plan. What was perfect about Jim was that my guests had NO clue. My wedding is still the highlighted topic across social media and family thanks to Jim and Steve Moody. Working with Steve Moody and his team was super easy and very enjoyable! Once we booked Jim Baker as our DJ, I was able to log on to the website and complete a very detailed planning form that really helped me in creating my timeline for the day as well as the songs to play. About two weeks prior to our wedding, I had a consultation with Jim over the phone to discuss the planning form and go over details. He was very responsive in our conversation, and he made me feel very confident as the big day approached. Jim and his assistant were flawless at our ceremony and reception. They kept the evening moving and kept the dance floor full. It was truly a night I will always remember, and I loved dancing the night away with my new husband and all our friends and family. Mr. Steve has been a friend of the family for several years now and we knew since the day that we got engaged that we wanted him to be our DJ. We were impressed by the professionalism of Steve Moody and his employees from the start. We especially enjoyed working with Pump who was the disc jockey for our wedding. Music was an important element of our celebration and Pump handled all our musical details with finesse. Our ceremony included several live musical performances, and Pump was able to provide the sound support we needed. During our reception, our bridal parties joined us (the two brides) in a synchronized dance as we entered the reception hall. Prior to our event, Steve had expertly edited the music to align with the introductions and choreography. Pump calmly directed our jovial group, so that everyone entered in the right order and knew where to take their positions on the dance floor. We also appreciated the time he took during our prep call to learn and repeat the names of our bridal party members, because several of them had unusual names. He pronounced all names perfectly during the introductions. In addition, during the prep call, when we told Pump that we wanted to play songs from our favorite Broadway musicals during dinner, he tracked down the list of our non-traditional songs for us. Most importantly, after dinner Pump played music that kept us and our guests dancing for hours. Our wedding was perfect and we appreciate all that Pump and Steve Moody did to contribute to our celebration. We would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone who wants great music and enjoys working with fun and talented professionals.

Steve is hands down one of the best DJ's out there. When I saw him DJ my sister's wedding, it was a no brainier that I would be using him when my day came. I even had a friend tell me that if/when she ever got married they would be using Steve because her boyfriend is a DJ as well, so he's very particular and they know how great of a job Steve does. I've been to multiple weddings myself and I've never seen a DJ get the crowd as involved as Steve did. He is the reason we received so many complements from our guests. When my daughter started planning her wedding, I knew that Steve Moody was the PERFECT MC/DJ for the event. Once she met him she felt the same way. Steve is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL and he sure proved that at our daughter's wedding. He kept the dance floor full after the first dance and made sure the bride and groom did everything they were to do, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. After that, the floor was full until they turned the lights on at midnight. Our guests has a FANTASTIC time and said they had not danced that much in quite a while. Steve even played some jitterbug music for my daughter's 86 year old grandfather (who danced the night away with the rest of them).
