Planning a wedding in 2020 was not an easy undertaking but the wedding coordinator & staff at the Stoweflake worked with us every step of the way! They remained flexible throughout the process and we ended up with a wedding day that was better than we could have imagined. All of our guests enjoyed staying at the beautiful & centrally located hotel with all of the amenities you could need. It is the perfect spot for a fall wedding in Stowe!!
We used the Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa as the "home base" for our wedding. While our ceremony/reception was elsewhere, all of our guests stayed at this location. It was the best to walk around the cozy environment with fireplaces and lights glowing and see friends and family all around us. We also had our rehearsal dinner and farewell breakfast at the Snowflake. All of the food was delicious and well services, we received many compliments. Everything was well coordinated by the sweetest event planners, Maria Mignano and Amanda Gonyaw. There was truly nothing to worry about! The morning of the wedding the bridal party had hair/makeup done right at the in-house salon/spa. Prior to the date, Juliana Elliot, the spa manager, ensured proper scheduling and organization for all which made the process very effortless and fun. All of the stylists were amazing, I especially felt love for Danielle who took extra care to achieve the bridal look I was dreaming of, even without ever doing a separate trial. I honestly have never felt more beautiful. We could not be more thrilled with having the Stoweflake be a part of our wedding weekend. The location, amenities, staff and overall experience simply cannot be beat!
We had a really good experience with the Stoweflake for our August, 2019 wedding. Our event coordinator, Maria, was fantastic. She was thorough, timely, professional and a pleasure to work with and plan the wedding with. You will be lucky to work with her as she knows the venue in and out, has great ideas and will accommodate seemingly any request. The venue and resort itself was amazing. We had a lot of people from out of town come up and spend the weekend. The townhouses were perfect and convenient for the whole experience. During the summer the resort is absolutely beautiful. The food was very good and the Atrium/Courtyard is the perfect spot for cocktail hour. We will be back for years to come. Thanks Maria and Team!
Highly recommend getting married at Stoweflake Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vermont . From beginning to end everyone at Stoweflake was accommodating, flexible and so friendly. Maria, our wedding coordinator, took care of any details for our special day and was always available for any questions. The day off the location (in the courtyard and atrium) was simply breathtaking. Tons of greenery and very relaxed atmosphere. If you are looking for an intimate place to get married look no further than Stoweflake!
We were looking for a holiday weekend wedding with about 150 guests, almost all of whom would be from out of town. We wanted a venue with hotel accommodations at a reasonable price, and with activities for our guests.
We met with Arienne (no longer there) and Scot, one of the owners. This was the OPPOSITE of the prior day’s experience. We were there for nearly two hours. We toured every possible ceremony and reception spot (there are a lot of options), we looked at EVERY hotel/suite and townhouse option. We saw the gym, the spa (AMAZING), the restaurant, and the pool. We knew then and there this was the spot for us, and booked our date (7/6/19). We mentioned in passing we wanted to come back that night and have dinner at Charlie B’s, which we did. To our surprise, Scot took care of our entire bill that night. This is a family owned business and you can tell they really care about their customer’s experience.
We did most of our planning through e-mail, as we live about 7 hours away. We started with Arienne who left a few months into our planning, and then Maria took over. This transition was seamless and I cannot say enough about Maria. She is kind, patient, organized, detail oriented, and quick to respond- which as an anxious bride was so appreciated.
In the weeks leading up to the wedding I spoke with Maria often and she thought of EVERYTHING. We reviewed all the little details and this was a huge help into making me feel relaxed going into the wedding. Maria seamlessly coordinated with our vendors- especially our tent company, our band who had some specific requirements, and our VW Photobooth Bus.
We had 150 guests, 140 of which stayed at Stoweflake. Our guests enjoyed this resort so much- the gym, the squash courts, the 9 hole par 3 golf course, the spa, Charlie B’s, the tennis courts, the pool (and the pool bar!). We also got married the weekend of the Stoweflake Hot Air Balloon Festival- this was such a special experience for our guests and such a fun event to attend.
The day of the wedding my bridesmaids, mom and MIL, and I got ready in the spa. The spa was great- everyone’s hair and makeup came out great and we finished ahead of schedule.
Maria visited me in the spa to check in, and again in the suite to make the weather call. Right as Maria came into the suite the sky turned black and it started POURING. We decided to move the ceremony indoors to the atrium (it was going to be in the atrium court yard) and keep the reception outside as it was supposed to clear and we had the tent.
The weather cleared before the ceremony but we stuck with the atrium set up. I went outside to do some photos and it started raining again. Luckily I was right near the spa and I popped back in for a two minuet hair and makeup touch up.
The atrium ceremony was beautiful. Due to the atrium being used to the ceremony we had to use the Stowe Room for our cocktail hour (which we had wanted to be in the atrium). We didn’t love this but it was fine. The food was excellent!
The sky completely cleared up and we were able to have our reception outside. The food was delicious. We did the Platinum Package and chose the salmon, the filet mignon, and we had a vegan option. Everyone raved about the food!
We had an after party at Charlie B’s which was a lot of fun!
Overall, I cannot say enough about Stoweflake and Maria. We had the best day of our lives and look back on the experience with nothing but happy memories!
I can not even begin to think I can write a review that will match just how outstanding the Snowflake Resort treats it's guest. Melissa Nolet, event coordinator for Stoweflake, did a fantastic job of setting up the wedding and ALL amenties regarding our 3-day stay in Stowe. The resort staff, including Charlie B's restaurant staff, were mind blowing in how thoughtful, polite and professional in performing all duties at the resort. They all made us feel welcomed and at home. We had a number of special items that came off without a hitch. We planned ALL aspects of our wedding and excursions via email, sight unseen. We couldn't have planned it better if we were lifelong residents of the Stowe community. Thank you Stoweflake for the wonderful memories and terrifi ceremony!
The Stoweflake was the perfect location for our wedding. We wanted a "walking venue" where our guests could arrive and attend the weekend events without driving at all. We got tons of comments from our guests that it was so nice to walk from the ceremony to the reception and home again that night. Having the majority of our guests stay at the Stoweflake also created such a festive atmosphere for the whole weekend too because we saw our family and friends around the whole property. Everyone was able to choose from a variety of room price points by staying in the hotel rooms or in the townhouses. There were also great handicap options as well. People used the par 3 golf course, the pool, and the spa. The Stoweflake's central location was also perfect for everyone who wanted to use the bike path and explore all of the amazing activities Stowe and the surrounding area offer. The Alchemist next door also was a huge plus for our craft beer fans. Melissa helped us put on numerous events. We did our rehearsal dinner at Winfield's, and then afterwards we had a welcome reception with a VW photobooth bus, campfire, and s'mores out by the pool. She also helped us plan a beautiful ceremony out in the balloon field, and also coordinated with our vendors to set up our reception in the courtyard. The gardens in the courtyard were stunning. We had about 230 guests and Melissa approached each one of our (many) requests with professionalism, a can-do attitude, and a smile. She helped coordinate our room block information, food and beverage choices, and also connected with our other vendors. Melissa, Kathryn, Susi and MANY other people at the Stoweflake were extremely accommodating and made us feel so welcome. On our wedding weekend, Melissa and Kathryn worked tirelessly to make sure everything was perfect, and it truly was. We could not have hoped for a better weekend and we are so thankful for the Stoweflake for making our wedding dreams come true!!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Stoweflake. I literally cannot say enough good things about the venue and staff. Our wedding coordinator was very organized and she responded quickly to my incessant questioning throughout the entire planning process. She worked with me to customize the menu, and the food was delicious! The venue is beautiful inside and out. The staff at the Stoweflake were all incredible, helpful and professional. We received so many compliments on our wedding about the food, the staff, the location, the spa, and everything in between, hugely due to the Stoweflake and their wonderful staff. Thank you!!!
I used the Stoweflake for my cocktail hour and reception. I also used their salon area for my bridal party and myself. It was such a fantastic area. The staff was incredibly nice to my family and guests. They were willing to do alot of extras for my guests. After the wedding they even opened their restaurant again to serve drinks and food to the remainder of the wedding guests who wanted more. My wedding planner was so nice and was in touch with me very quickly when needed. I am so happy that I chose the Stoweflake for my wedding venue.
I loved the great views at the pool and the food was really good at all the restaurants on site. Decor is a little dated but it's clean and the bathrooms were updated.
They paint a picture of a location you dream of, which the location was, but the staff were unorganized and had lot's of broken promises. Food was not as we had taste tested it, they ran our of beer at the bar, they wouldn't allow us to extend the reception, which they had promised at previouse meetings. The wedding coordinator took days to weeks to return your calls and/or e-mails. Documentation is everything. I learned to communicate via e-mail as they often denied information and ate their own words after references to past e-mails were made. Very frusterating to deal with!!
I have very mixed feelings about my experience at the the Stoweflake. I had a spa day the day before my wedding with all of my bridesmaids and found the service to be amazing. We had a relaxing day in the pool and had wonderful massages, pedicures, and manicures. However, I was not very impressed with the skill level in the salon. After my trial make up run, I ended up getting a traveling make up artist to come instead. My bridesmaids also did not really enjoy their updos (luckily I had my regular stylist come to the resort).
The wedding coordinator was a very nice person, but very slow on returning calls and emails, and the day before the wedding was stressing me out since she was a bit unorganized.
The reservations department were very kind but very unorganized, giving guests incorrect rates, incorrect information, and also did not hand out all of the welcome bags as promised.
HOWEVER.....
The resort was absolutely beautiful and our wedding was gorgeous. It really is a beautiful place with plenty for guests to do. Our ceremony in the gardens was amazing and everyone enjoyed the pool, bars, and restaurants.
The bar tenders were amazing! Funny, quick, service was outstanding. The restaurant manager was also very accomodating and made all dining experiences way above average. And I cannot say enough good things about the food. That chef is hopefully earning top dollar! The food was incredible, guests were talking about it all weekend! 5 stars!!!!!
I would not trade my wedding for anything in the world. The only gripe I have is step up the customer service! It is a wonderful resort and there really needs to be an overhaul!
spa services were fantastic. Only complaint is that the wedding coordinator did not respond in a timely fashion for appointments. Also we tried to have cheese and fruit trays for the bridal party during our primping sessions and they took forever.
