FIVE STARS doesn't do Straton Hall Events justice! Our wedding day was happy and carefree, and everything I had ever dreamed. We chose them for our dream day! They exceeded our expectations from start to finish! Jay was my first contact with St...raton. His proactive nature, unparalleled attention to detail, genuine caring and FUN personality made the planning enjoyable. We hired them for the design and rentals, FOOD, cake, FLOWERS... They took care of it all! Even though I emailed him numerous times with questions and changes, he promptly got back to me with suggestions and solid solutions. We chose the Historic City Hall in downtown Brunswick for both the ceremony AND reception. I fell in love with all of the wood and marble, the romantic feel of the place. I was very pleased with Jay's flexibility and creativity with our menu. We had a Tasting that Jay made so fun, especially for my fiancé. The menu was fresh, in season and as local as possible. I talked with Stacy and Lulu about flowers and that I wanted mostly greenery, succulents, and candles and that's exactly what we got, PLUS. There were CANDLES everywhere, along both sides of the aisle and at the front, even floating in big glass containers. There were soft purple flowers, delicate blush ones, different shades of succulents, and huge flowers called African Proteas. Gorgeous! Carla Pryor of St Simons Elopements was our officiant and she was awesome! Things went so smoothly and her words were very meaningful and perfect for us as a couple. After the ceremony, guests were asked to go downstairs for cocktails. Drinks were passed and there was a beautiful display of domestic and imported cheeses accented with flatbreads along with seasonal melons, garden fresh berries paired with fresh cream for dipping. We had a lot of moving pieces the day of the wedding and everything went off without a hitch. Jay and bartender Margo even brought us drinks and reminded us to eat. While we were mingling downstairs, the Straton team had obviously been busy upstairs. Dividing walls had been opened up and the now huge space had been turned into our reception. Tables with flowers, greenery garlands, CANDLES and food stations. The main ones had tender Chicken breasts with creamy sauce and Mushrooms, and a nice garden selection of grilled and roasted Vegetables. The Deluxe Mac and Cheese Station drew a crowd! It included what they called Delilah's Mac (a Southern seven cheese wonder!) and White Mac (Monterey Jack, White Cheddar, Mozzarella and Gruyere gooey goodness!) that you could then top with your choice of Pesto Chicken, Oven Roasted Tomatoes, Pulled Pork, Chives, Jambalaya Sauce, Bacon Bits, Andouille Sausage and Roasted Baby Sweet Peppers. Definitely DELUXE! Jay suggested Coastal Shrimp and Grits, one of Straton's signature recipes. Turned out to be THE culinary hit of the evening paired with a combination of Andouille Sausage Cream and stone ground Grits. We had so many compliments about the food that night, and our family and friends are STILL raving about how delicious everything was! The cake looked just like the photo Jay had shown his pastry chef. And tasted divine, LEMON! At the end of the evening, Stacy escorted us downstairs where our guests were waving sparklers and a sleek 1940s Cadillac was waiting for us. Mr. Martin, our chauffeur, was so kind! Another referral from Straton, Martin's Wedding Transportation. Thank you so much Straton Hall Events for making our special day perfect!
