My husband and I knew that we wanted to get married in Maui. In searching for a location I kept coming back to Sugar Beach Events. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of amazing locations to get married in Maui but SBE checked all our marks; the location, close to family, the food and service. Once we connected with the team, met the owner (who is the chef and lives 2 doors down by the way) it was a win, win...win! Our wedding coordinator, Kristen, didn't miss a beat. She surpassed our needs and provided us with excellent customer service, professionalism and just being there to assure us that everything will fall into place. Our wedding happened this past January 2021 so it was a tough decision given all the protocols, closures and restrictions. I'm glad we waited it out and went through it because our wedding could not have been more perfect. Thank you to everyone at SBE for making our wedding a dream.

Our magical day went so smoothly from start to finish. Kristen responded to our many questions immediately, sometimes late in the evening. The grounds were impeccable and oh that sunset view for our special day. The interior, bar and grounds are so stunning. If you are planning a wedding or special event, this is the spot. The bridal suite was so tastefully done, providing a professional steamer and wet bar for make up or hand washing. The champagne list was amazing as well as the desserts created by Chef Lee. . The sever was spot on, making our guests feel comfortable and safe. Sugar Beach events will always hold a sacred place in our hearts!

I don’t even know where to start with all of the amazing things that Sugar Beach Events did to make our day so memorable. From the very beginning communication long distance was wonderful. Kristen answered all of our questions over the phone or email and was very organized with every detail we needed to cover. The coordination at the rehearsal was so smooth and took no time at all. Every detail was so perfect. The day of our wedding was stress free. I handed over the few things that I brought to be set up and Kristen and her team took it from there. The place settings were beautiful and exactly what we wanted, simple and elegant. The view for the ceremony and dinner was absolutely breathtaking, from the moment we walked in you could see the ocean which is exactly what we pictured for our special day. The food was wonderful and all family still talks about how delicious it was that night. Chef Lee and her team executed beautifully plated appetizers and enjoyable entrées throughout the night. The cake was a beautiful mix of tropical and island flavor! We were so happy we were able to take some home to really enjoy it:) Thank you for such an amazing experience and truly memorable Wedding Day!

We had our wedding at Sugar Beach in February 2020. We got to do a tasting and meet Kristen and everyone at Sugar Beach right after we got engaged. Kristen was super responsive, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. For any picture or idea we ran by her, she knew the best ways to make it happen. The venue is GORGEOUS. From the outdoor ceremony with a beach backdrop to the beautiful indoor reception area. There's a lot going on on the day of the wedding but Kristen was calm and organized and made sure everything ran smoothly. We're so thankful for Kristen and the Sugar Beach team and couldn't have asked for a better coordinator and venue to have our wedding at.

My husband and I recently got married at Sugar Beach. We had such an amazing experience from the start working with Kristen and Ashley. We got engaged in Kauai and when we came back to California and looked at some venues and we could not find any that felt right, so we decided to look at venues in Hawaii. We finally decided on Sugar beach after reading so many good reviews, as well as speaking with Ashley and looking at everything they were going to offer us. As we all know its so difficult to book and make decisions from so far away, but Kristen walked us through every step and gave us a time line and advice as we started moving forward. She made the process seem seamless. Our day from start to finish was absolutely beautiful. We cannot imagine having to have gotten married anywhere else. The venue is beautiful, the setting for the ceremony is breathtaking, the food is delicious and as I have said the service is amazing! We would definitely recommend this venue to any person who is considering it.

Sugar Beach did the cake for our wedding, and it was delicious! Not only was it simple, elegant and beautiful but everyone loved the taste. Fantastic!

We had our wedding there on 10/11/2019. It was more beautiful than we ever could have imagined! Kristen was such a blessing!! She helped make our vision come to life. She was so attentive and responded to our many many emails so promptly. She made the wedding planning process so much easier. If you are looking for a romantic, intimate wedding along side a Maui sunset, this is the place! We had the most perfect wedding. From planning to day of, it was as stress-free as you could get. Kristen is an amazing wedding planner and made it easy to plan a Maui wedding from Oregon! Tino, or officiant, was amazing. The food, drinks, dancing, and atmosphere were more than we could have asked for. The staff was professional from the moment we walked in. Sugar Beach Events was the perfect place to have our wedding. In-house wedding coordinator (Kristen) is amazing. She made planning our wedding stress-free -- from her direction in creating our wedding visions to communicating with all our vendors. The location itself is incredible - a beautiful outdoor, grass area for ceremony and an elegant reception hall. You can't beat Chef Lee's menus and her catering team is top-notch. Whether you are hoping for an intimate, simple wedding or really want to go big, SBE has it all and I would recommend their services and venue highly.

The entire process was easy and enjoyable from the minute I reached out to Sugar Beach Events for our wedding- not to mention BEAUTIFUL! Looking back on the wedding day, it seems like something out of a magazine! Kristen, Gabrielle and Ashley were so quick to respond and were beyond patient with our 10,000 questions and requests. From start to finish, Kristen and her staff were so amazing and attentive. I always received a response to emails within the same day, usually within an hour or so! I was so nervous being the perfectionist that I am, but Kristen, Gabby, and Ashley were fantastic! The venue itself was exactly what we were looking for; private and directly on the beach! Even up to the start of the ceremony, I didn’t have to worry about a thing. I recommend Sugar Beach Events 110%!!

I really can’t recommend Sugar Beach enough for your wedding or event! Kristen, Gabrielle, and Ashley were absolutely amazing to work with. They made the planning process so incredibly easy and brought our vision to life better than we could have ever expected. We planned the wedding over a few phone calls and many emails so I expected some things to go wrong and had just accepted that but I can honestly say, nothing did (or if it did, I sure didn’t know about it). Their vendors are also all incredible to work with! They’re all so good at what they do and can provide guidance where you need it while bringing your vision to life. So many people have asked if I have post-wedding sadness and I can honestly say I have none, everything was done so perfectly I can’t imagine our day being any better.

Beautiful venue. Excellent food and drinks. All the guests had a great time. Easy to work with the vendors. I think the venue struggled to stick to our budget (we were over budget), but overall the wedding was beautiful and I would recommend Sugar Beach.

We agree with many of the posters that Sugar Beach Events is a beautiful venue. Our daughter was married there in June 2018. However, our experience with the wedding coordinator, Kristen, needed improvement. Even though our daughter and son-in-law met with Kristen two days prior to the wedding to review all details and ensure that everything was all set, that was not the case. One example is that the wedding processional and seating of Mother of the Bride had not been discussed/planned and caused much confusion at the last minute. I would still recommend using this venue but HIGHLY RECOMMEND that any future wedding couples either ask a friend or relative with lots of wedding experience to be your on-site personal contact with the Sugar Beach coordinator as a way to double-check and cover all details of your wedding OR hire a professional wedding coordinator to be your intermediary with Sugar Beach Events.

I know EVERYONE loves their wedding and all the reviews skew more positive because let's face it, it's the highlight of anyone's life. But take this from someone who has planned many large-scale events in the past: this venue and team are just on another level of greatness. Our wedding was absolutely perfect from top to bottom. SO many people kept asking if I was nervous or anxious throughout the wedding planning process and every time, my honest answer was "not at all." Kristen and Gabrielle (Sugar Beach Events' planner and coordinator) were extremely responsive and followed up with us every step of the way to make sure we were on track with our side of the planning. The day-of coordination was on point. Kristen gave us honest and prompt feedback on all the vendors when we were going through all our options, and she was transparent about the pricing and offerings so we never had any doubts or fuzziness about the process and what we were paying. The venue: it's a perfect setting for a wedding - so much better than a giant hotel/resort where you're being gawked at by hundreds of hotel guests and you're just one of thousands of guests the venue may be serving at any given moment. At Sugar Beach, YOU and your event are the ONLY thing the whole venue is focused on, and the setting makes for a perfectly intimate event just for you and your guests. The lawn and the beach frame the sunset perfectly for the most gorgeous photos. The amenities in the house - like the bridal suite, the upstairs balcony, even the bathrooms - make the day-of experience super seamless (you don't have to go back and forth between the salon, the dress, etc). The food was excellent - there are so many options to choose from and they are all delicious. Again, having the entire kitchen and chef (CHEF LEE FOR THE WIN) dedicated to your wedding has so many advantages - in how flexible they are with the menu options and attentiveness to each individual guest's dietary restrictions. This was definitely a highlight that our guests raved about after the wedding. I also highly recommend Darren from Maui Petals. He took a few Pinterest photos I sent and turned it into a whole production that fit exactly with my vision and so much more. And I was asking for weird things like gold-dipped greenery. And everything within the budget I had set. So I highly recommend working with them. Overall, I can't think of a single thing that was missing or lacking in the wedding - it truly was a wedding of our dreams and we are forever grateful for the Sugar Beach Events team for all their hard work to make it happen. I don’t even know where to start. The place is absolutely stunning, the chef is extremely talented, and the staff were attentive and wonderful. We were lucky enough to have great weather the entire time, it was a little windy, but we were able to have our ceremony and dinner outside, with a perfect sunset. Darren from Bliss worked with Sugar Beach to get our menu situated, let me tell you, people are still talking about that food. We didn’t want to make people chose one protein, so we ended up going with a buffet that included fish, steak, and pork. Chef Lee threw down and laid out a mean spread of food. The deserts were phenomenal. We should have brought some sweatpants for later. Kristin, the captain, was super sweet and attentive, there to help Ayron and I out if we needed something. To everyone at Sugar Beach Events that helped that day, Misa, Nik, Todd, Benjamin, Tatiana and Melanie, thank you. Our day was what it was because of your help. It was a day Ayron and I will never forget. We will be forever grateful!

Sugar Beach provided the catering and bar services for our destination wedding. We knew we were in good hands from the start when we met Chef Lee for the menu tasting. But the real MVP is Jessica! She was our main point of contact throughout everything leading up to the big day. Communication is key especially when planning a destination wedding so we could not have been more pleased with her as she answered our never ending list of questions. Now for the FOOD — our guests could not stop raving about it, especially the appetizers! The chosen signature drinks were also a hit. Providing delicious food was of the most importance in our focus when catering to our guests and Sugar Beach absolutely delivered on all parts. We were lucky to have such a great vendor. Mahalo for being a part of our special day!

I planned the wedding, alongside Kristen the wedding coordinator at Sugar Beach Events, from abroad and I CANNOT emphasize enough how much having Kristen as a point of contact and as a coordinator/planner saved my sanity and created a wedding so gorgeous I literally screamed when I saw it all put together. Kristen is patient, endlessly helpful, responds to emails thoroughly and promptly, and as far as I can tell, never takes time off - even when she's supposed to be on vacation she still responds. On the day of the wedding, she was calm, organized, and incredibly thoughtful and attuned to us as a couple. I gave Kristen exacting instructions about what I wanted the tables and the wedding visuals to look like and she ABSOLUTELY executed everything I wanted. She went above and beyond what I expected or dreamed and our tablescapes were so beautiful, I think I liked them more then I liked my wedding dress. All the vendors she recommended also went above and beyond - in particular Sunya's Flowers brought in some of the most lush and beautiful garlands I have ever seen, as well as stunning golden candlesticks. As to the venue itself and the Sugar Beach staff, I can't be complimentary enough honestly. There was a moment during the wedding where I walked out the lawn onto the beach and watched the moon on the water. Stars were everywhere. What more can you want? The lawn where we ate and were formally married is manicured perfectly and landscaped beautifully and the indoor event space is elegant, extremely well maintained, and I have to highlight the bridal suite which is so elegant and pretty we ended up taking a ton of photos in there with our photographer. The staff that worked our wedding were all so kind and thoughtful to us that I felt as though they knew me personally. The food WAY surpassed my high expectations, and the bartender made me one of the best drinks I've ever had. Little details that Sugar Beach didn't have to do but did transformed our day: from appetizers in the side room for us before photos to constant drink service to huge smiles and congratulations from the chefs. When we showed up from photos there was even trays of water and champagne ready for us. If you want to eat really superior food and drink very well, as well as feel like an entire caring family of people have rallied around you to make every vision and hope you've ever had come true, then get married at Sugar Beach. The venue as well as Kristen is beautiful, understanding, supportive, experienced, and deeply caring and professional. There is nothing like showing up to see everything you wanted is in place, and discovering at every moment, how much the staff cares for you, thought about you, and heard your dreams for the day. Sugar Beach: you gave me a wedding that went so far beyond anything I imagined, and for this, I am deeply happy to have chosen you.

Beyond the obvious reasons to choose SBE (the beautiful facilities and grounds, and the amazing food options), one should know that SBE truly takes care of their couples. They're obviously busy year round, but I never felt like Kristen (the in-house coordinator) was too busy for me. She truly made me feel like my wedding day should be extra special and that she would do whatever she could to ensure that. She patiently answered countless emails (note: she is very timely in her responses); helped me think of ways to stay within budget; received and inspected my favor delivery (we had personalized coca-cola bottles shipped to SBE a month prior to the wedding); and handled all the little details that most people probably take for granted. And its not just Kristen; the entire SBE staff was amazing on our wedding day! They were professional, polite, and attentive. The vendors they work with are all first class. The food didn't just look good....it was super duper delicious too! Everything about our wedding day came out perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better day, a better coordinator, or a better place to have our wedding.

We had a wonderful experience with Sugar Beach. Chef Lee and her wonderful team put together an incredible charcuterie spread and family style dinner for us for our wedding. We are huge foodies and the meal was so important to us. They have world class food and world class service. Everything was executed seamlessly and helped us feel so at ease on our wedding night. From the poached fish to the chimichurri sauce (our special request) we still have guests talking to us about the food and how much they loved it. Thank you so much!

We had our daughter's wedding at Sugar Beach Events a few weeks ago. We here hesitant to do a destination wedding, but when we first connected with Kristen we found her to be very patient and responsive to all of our changes and questions. We worked with Kristen for a year on the planning. All the vendors she recommended were great. She was exceptional! Everything turned out beautifully and Kristen and her staff took care of everything on the big day. They were very professional and our guests complimented that they had a great time and everything was perfect. Sugar Beach Events is the absolute place to have a dreamy, magical wedding. No need to look anywhere else. We now have beautiful pictures of the big day.

What an incredible and gorgeous venue! Sugar Beach Events was perfect all the way from the beginning with the contacting and planning to the actual wedding day with the execution and delivery...I could not have picked a better venue! Best decision ever! I chose Sugar Beach Events not only because of its stunning location, but because Kristen was extremely responsive (usually responds in minutes to hours!), which is so important when it comes to planning a destination wedding! Kristen is absolutely amazing. She is extremely understanding, supportive, organized, and experienced; she was committed to our wedding and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we wanted, and it was! Our wedding day was PERFECT and surpassed our expectations! The staff were all so friendly and professional. They were super attentive during the entire wedding and always made sure that all water glasses were constantly filled. We were so appreciative that there was a plate of appetizers left on our sweetheart table. The bridal suite was gorgeous and was stocked with water and any last minute things you can think of. The vendors that were recommended were PHENOMENAL and I really felt they were all the best out of the best! Not having done a food tasting or cake tasting prior to the wedding, I was worried, but the food and cake were outstanding! Everyone raved about the food and cake! Sugar Beach events created the absolute perfect dream weddng for us!!! We were looking for a gorgeous beach venue to host a small initmate wedding that still had the elegance and fun environment of a large wedding- Sugar Beach nailed everything! This place was beyond amazing! Everyone was so friendly and kind, and my coordinator helped me every step of the way to give me my dream wedding.

We had our wedding at Sugar Beach Events in July 2017. It was PERFECT, and we couldn't have possibly improved anything. We liked Sugar Beach Events from when we started our search, but thought it was out of our budget - nevertheless we kept coming back to it. Once we contacted them for a quote to start the process, we realized how helpful and flexible they were. They walked us through areas where we could save money, and in the end we came exactly where we had budgeted. The venue is ideal: We had our ceremony outside, which is dreamy beautiful. We then had our reception (dinner and dancing) inside. The indoor/outdoor combo worked out beautifully; people slid in and out of the reception area throughout the night; we saw couples walking to the beach having their own moments, kids were playing outside with beach balls and bubbles we had provided, adults were drinking and dancing inside, etc. Overall the space provided the right refuge for every single guest, and everyone appeared to be having a great time. The staff was incredibly professional AND personable. Example: One of our speech-givers had recited a line of Persian poetry, and much later in the night one of the bartenders asked me to write than line down for him because he liked it so much. The staff seemed like they were part of the party, and made the whole night proceed seamlessly. Chef Lee's food was on point; we had fish, pork, beef, tofu and veggie combos (we had some vegetarian guests), and everyone raved about how great the food was. The cake was beautiful and delicious too. And finally, our wedding coordinator, Kristen Sterback, was a godsend. She started at the role about 2 months before our wedding; you can imagine that we were a little nervous. But she caught up with everything within the first few days, always had lists handy of what we needed to do to move the ball forward, and had some very good, insightful suggestions (like buying toys for the kids that kept them busy all night and allowed them and their parents to have so much fun!). She was always available and responsive, and had this calm about her that made us enjoy the process and the wedding so much more. I can't lie, when I now see friends posting pictures of their weddings, I can't help but a chuckle a little on the inside for having had the best wedding venue / staff / coordinator. Sugar Beach Events was the perfect spot for my 115 guests. It is a gorgeous self-contained venue. The garden looks down on the beach and the reception hall opens up to the garden (which opens up to the beach). I saw the venue once before booking it but it blew my mind the day of. My friends won't stop talking about the outrigger canoes that just happened to canoe past the venue during the ceremony. I swear it wasn't planned. A little annoying at first but actually very convenient in the end, if you go with Sugar Beach you're basically locked into their food and alcohol. Luckily, the food is FANTASTIC and Chef Lee's creative presentation is remarkable. Fresh, local ingredients, creative diverse options and beautiful presentation. I don't LIKE wedding cake, but I liked the cake Chef Lee made. Yes, she's that good.

Sugar Beach Events was the perfect beach setting for our October 2016 wedding! The site, music from DJ Sol, amazing cake and food from Chef Lee, and all the wonderful staff was all I could have asked for and more! I can't imagine anything more perfect than our beautiful marriage celebration ♡ Denise Black wedding coordinator is amazing and a pro at what she does! Getting Mauid at Sugar Beach Events was the most beautiful day in our lives. Our awesome beach wedding in Maui is something we'll always have memories of forever in our hearts.

I have to admit that Sugar Beach was not our original venue. 4 days before our wedding day we found out the entire ceremony and reception had to be moved. We had already chosen Chef Lee to cater. Her food is simply the best. But also having a wedding venue made the change seamless and now I couldn't imagine having it anywhere else because it went perfectly. I mean there isn't anything I would change about it. The guests thought it was gorgeous and it is. The staff were like ninjas and your needs were always somehow met. There was a perfect combination of indoor and outdoor space. Everyone simply had a magical time. Sunsets there are beautiful and the pictures we took look so good. Having a December wedding in Hawaii is always a gamble with the weather. We were able to do a tasting back in April and what impressed us about Chef Lee was that she not only made everything we requested, but she made it all gluten free. She was able to make our final menu entirely gluten free at our request. And it was delicious. Thanks for everything Sugar Beach! Best. Day. Ever.

I had my wedding and reception at Sugar Beach Events in October 2016. It was an an amazing experience. I selected the intimate package with a few add-ons. I worked with Denise, starting about 9 months before my wedding. She is friendly, always available, and very easy to work with. Her response time is typically 1 day or less. I shopped around in Maui, and in my opinion Denise and Sugar Beach Events are by far the most responsive and committed to your wedding. Denise is also very flexible (we threw her a last minute change and she was very accommodating). Denise is very knowledgeable about all the vendors, and provides great recommendations to make sure your wedding is what you want. I really like that Sugar Beach uses specific vendors, as they have chosen the best of the best. The vendors are also familiar with the venue, which makes the event run smoothly. For example, the photographers know the best places to take photos on site since they have worked there many times before. The venue itself is beautiful. The furnishings are all updated. The koa wood bar is more beautiful in person than in the pictures online. I love how the building is open, so you feel like you're outside even when you're indoors. Sugar Beach Events sits right on the ocean, so you're guaranteed to have an amazing view for your wedding ceremony. The bridal suite is beautiful, clean, and stocked with everything you need for last minute fixing up. The bartender was outstanding. Our guests loved the fully stocked open bar, and that they could get custom cocktails. This isn't just a wine, beer and a few spirits kind of place. The bartender will customize your drink however you would like. The mai tais were the best I have ever had. The meal and cake that Chef Lee and her staff prepared were wonderful. I am very picky about wedding cakes, but I loved ours. It was icing and not fondant, so it tasted wonderful. The baked brie en croute appetizer was amazing, and possibly my favorite part of the meal because it was so unique. We upgraded our steaks to filets, and they were cooked medium rare like we like them. All of our guests commented on how wonderful the food and cake were. Denise also worked with Chef Lee to accommodate special dietary needs for a couple of the guests in our party. I would high recommend Sugar Beach Events to anyone looking to have their wedding in Maui. It was an experience that I will never forget.

I just got married there on 10/28/2016 and it blew away my expectations and was the wedding fairytale I always had dreamt of as a little girl. Denise and her team are so professional, responsive, authentic and take all wedding stress away from you. They worked with integrity, always made me feel important and made sure I didn't have a worry in the world on the wedding night. My guests all raved about the venue, the food is incredible prepared by Chef Lee, and this venue creates a very intimate wedding which was our intent. I highly recommend Sugar Beach events-you will not be disappointed in the least bit by the entire experience! I wish I could do it all over again:-).

My Maui wedding at Sugar Beach (Sept. 2016) was executed beautifully and each component of the day from music and flowers to stylists and photography was expertly woven in. Event house: this venue was perfect: modern, elegant, yet relaxed and not too flashy; not too big, and not too small; and the weather behaved beautifully (even if the men complained of the humidity in their suits). Couldn't have asked for a better background. Bridal salon was elegant and much appreciated with air conditioning. You helped me transition from a reluctant fiancé into to a blushing, exuberant bride. Our ceremony was intimate, spiritual, and organic, with the right amount of flair and planning that pulled the magical moment together. Many thanks for your help and orchestration of the perfect bridal affair. Job well done!

We had our perfect day here!!! My wife and I just got married here in July 2016. We absolutely loved this place: Denise, the wedding planner, she is a perfectionist, she will give you exactly what you want and get everything to perfection on your big day!!! Chef Lee, she knows what you want and gets to the exact flavor you like! We had about 70 guests in our wedding the planning, tasting, ceremony, and reception are all great and it was so easy to have a wedding with Sugar Beach Events since they planned everything for you! My wife and I as well as all of our family and friends loved our wedding! We would definitely recommend Sugar Beach Events to you! This is your wedding one-stop shop!!

Our wedding planner sent us a list of her preferred caterers, and after viewing the website and menu options from SBE, we knew we found our caterer. All of their food choices sounded so delicious and creative. Since we live in California, we didn’t have a chance to do a tasting, so we were extremely pleased when everything tasted AMAZING! The service was also superb – the dishes came out one after the other and the SBE team constantly walked around to ensure that everyone had drinks throughout dinner. I can’t even count how many of our guests either came up to us during the wedding or mentioned to us afterward about how good the food and dinner service was. A number of our guests even said that it was the best meal that they’ve ever had at a wedding!

Sugar Beach Events surpassed all of my expectations for what my wedding would be. The venue is gorgeous! The ocean view is amazing. The food was delicious and the presentation was impeccable! I thought planning a destination wedding from Arizona would be difficult but my wonderful planner, Denise, made it so easy! She was a pleasure to work with and answered all of my questions and really put my mind at ease. Chef Lee was SO nice when we met her in the walk-through and even offered us grilled Swiss cheese sandwiches! So sweet! At the wedding, the appetizers, salad, main course and cake were all just so flavorful! The banquet captain, Chocolate, was the sweetest lady our party had ever met! She was a joy to be around and memorized all of our names! Chef Courtney even stepped out to tell my sister how the amazing purple sweet potatoes were made! Everyone at Sugar Beach Events just made this a flawless day to remember. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for everything! Sugar Beach Events made my dream wedding a reality!

Special thanks to Kara at Your Aloha Wedding Company for bringing this venue to our attention. I knew that this was the venue I dreamed about the moment I saw it. It had everything my now husband and I were looking for in a venue and even included a spacious bridal suite for me. The oceanfront property was private enough to restrict other people from intruding, but still allowed my guests the freedom to explore the beach. We wanted a venue that was modern in design and tradition, this was it. We didn't want the typical tent wedding or club house feel, especially since this was a Maui Wedding. We wanted something mesmerizing and breathtaking, this does it. Photos could be taken anywhere: the beach, sand, grass, side garden entrance, inside the venue. There wasn't a bad spot for photos! Another reason we liked this well maintained and clean venue was that it included items like tables and chairs to help keep the wedding within budget limits. This venue also was flexible with outside vendors, unlike resorts that require the use of their vendors only. Chef Lee has her own catering that you can also use as a vendor here. She's great to work with and definitely wants to see you happy and willing to go the extra mile for anyone. We wanted the guests to enjoy a delightful dinner without guilt! Sugar Beach Events absolutely met expectations with the catering. We were pleased that we were able to try the appetizers after our taking our photos, because the catering staff saved us a plate of all the appetizers the guests got too. The food was fresh and flavorful, absolutely perfect! We were able to enjoy the delicious food with great cocktails. The Mai Tai was one of the best cocktails that our guests ever had! We initially chose a Lava Flow as our signature cocktail, but went with the Blue Hawaiian to fit our wedding theme. The day of our wedding, we were told they could not do frozen cocktails, which we were expecting after paying for the package…that “includes FROZEN TROPICAL COCKTAILS”! Could you imagine how extremely disappointing this was? Also, my husband wanted a specific seasonal beer from Kona brewing company and with the minimal confirmed amount of guests, it seemed that purchasing a keg may be too much and would be better with bottle instead or we could pay an additional fee, after paying for other additional fees like service on cake cutting, bar, and food. Although there were some minor bumps along the road, our wedding planner at Your Aloha Wedding Company, Kara was able to resolve the keg problem. Sadly, the ice cream bar was disappointing, especially paying $10 per person. The presentation was poor and seemed to be thrown together extremely quick. The ice cream choices were vanilla and chocolate, even though these half gallons could be purchased at the same price for various flavors at most stores we found. This would probably be one decision we regret, especially since we made the decision to stretch our budget for this. Some things to keep in mind that we wish we knew, since it could possibly increase your budget. The included "In-House Sound System" doesn't really matter or make a difference. The DJ will still bring and charge for his own equipment. Also, the dance floor isn't included. It is quite expensive and required if guest want to dance. Although this venue took a large chunk out of our budget, we don't regret the decision, because this venue was perfect!

We were sooo pleased with Chef Lee and Sugar Beach Events. We had gone to Maui a year or so before our wedding to look at venues, photographers, etc. All the big ticket items of a wedding. We had look at seven different venues, but when we arrived at Sugar Beach Events, walked around the property we just knew this was the place. It is stunning. Then we had a tasting there. YYUUMMMYYY! The food was delicious! We knew then and there that we wanted our wedding to be there. Leading up to the wedding Chef Lee and her staff were wonderful. Always answering questions we had about menu options, vendors suggestions, etc. Then there was the wedding itself. Just like our tasting, the food was soooo good. The staff was wonderful. They made sure the bridal party got some of the passed around appetizers (otherwise we probably wouldn't have had a bite to eat until the reception) and that we were always taken care of. If we wanted a drink, it was in our hands within moments. Our guests raved about it. Many saying it was the most wonderful wedding they had ever attended. The food, the staff, the venue were all amazing. THANK YOU Chef Lee for helping us have our perfect wedding day!

Chef Lee and the team at Sugar Beach Events are TOP KNOTCH. When I first met her, the venue hadn't opened, and now it's one of the most popular venues on the island and I know why. She is friendly and easy to deal with, and was happy to make some adjustments (like accommodating for gluten-free and adding an extra entree choice). Between the amazing food, friendly bartenders, beautiful view, and bridal suite, I really believe Sugar Beach events is the perfect venue. We had absolutely no regrets about using them, and they made my wedding experience perfect.

I tear up just thinking about how perfect our wedding was at SugarBeach Events Hawaii (SBEH). Our was a destination wedding so we initially fell in love with it after watching someone else's wedding highlights video, and then after we talked with Chef Lee, we fell in love with her, too. There are many beautiful places to get married at in Maui but SBEH has to be one of the very best. Chef Lee not only owns the venue but is also an amazing chef and a lot of fun to work with. She is flexible, accomodating, creative, funny and knows her stuff! Her staff is great,too! I'm passionately vegan and GF but my husband isn't & she helped us navigate that beautifully (and scrumptiously!). They even made a tier of our beautiful cake vegan & GF so I could enjoy it! All of our guests raved about the gorgeous venue and amazing food. Two hurricanes were supposed to hit the day of our wedding but we didn't need to worry because we had the option of moving the wedding indoors since SBEH has a generator and the kitchen runs on gas. Luckily, the sun came out and we were able to enjoy our ceremony outside. Kids loved playing on the lawn and sand afterwards, too. Had no idea how much we would appreciate having a gorgeous, air-conditioned bridal suite for us to get ready in but it was a lifesaver! Everything was perfect. Cannot recommend SBEH venue, wedding cake, bar service and catering high enough. Please trust me that you and can trust them to take care of all of your catering needs. Chef Lee and staff are a top notch, professional, detail-oriented, fun organization. Very grateful for the opportunity to have our special day at SBEH with these special people. Mahalo Chef Lee!
