We just had our dream wedding on November 23rd and Erin was extremely helpful, easy to work with, professional, and very personable. We had nothing to worry about because we were in the best hands. She was honest and never tried to over sell us which we greatly appreciated. She created a beautiful cupcake table for the wedding. The cupcakes were absolutely delicious with unique flavors. She even has gluten-free options and those were delicious as well. So many guests have been raving to me about the cupcakes. Erin, also, made a wedding cake just for us and it was stunning and scrumptious. We cannot recommend or thank her enough. She is an expert at her craft and is a 5 STAR service! If you are getting married or have any upcoming event, book her now!

We recently hired sugar mamas for our October wedding and are so glad that we did! Erin is so welcoming, honest, professional and dedicated to making sure that we explored all our options and picked something that fit exactly what we were looking for. We had opted into doing a variety of small cupcakes, which was a hit! So many of our guests raved about how good they were and how it was a perfect dessert for our special day. What a great experience! Erin was beyond helpful and patient with us as we made changes near to the big day. We had a mini cake and cupcake tower display for our wedding and they came out wonderfully! The cupcakes were delicious and a great treat for guests to easily grab for dessert. Our mini cake was exactly as we pictured it, with live hydrangeas atop (wedding flower). I highly recommend booking with Sugar Mama’s for any event!

The cupcakes at our wedding were delicious! Sugar Mama Sweets and Treats was a pleasure to work with. We sampled several flavors and had a hard time narrowing down our choices since they were all so good. My only regret is not ordering more!
Erin was an absolute pleasure to work with! We met with her for about a 15-20 minute consultation to discuss the kind of cake we wanted for our wedding and she sent us home with complimentary cupcakes to try. We ended up selecting a small cake for cutting and 125 cupcakes for about 120 guests. Every single cupcake was DELICIOUS, we had a hard time only choosing a few flavors! The Oreo cupcake was our favorite, followed closely by the funfetti, sangria, and lemon cupcakes. Erin worked with us to select the perfect stands to display the cupcakes, matching the theme for our day. Erin did ask that we returned the cupcake stands the week after our wedding (not a problem for us). We will certainly be using Sugar Mama's for all our cake/cupcake needs in the future!
Erin was nothing shy of amazing. She was fantastic to work with and was realistic about what we needed. Her prices are also very fair. People raved about the cupcakes all night! The venue was even thrilled when they heard we booked Erin, as she is a joy to work with.

If you are thinking of booking Erin and Sugar Mamas don't think anymore... DO IT!!!! We are from out of state in Florida and went up to Rhode Island for a day of cake tasting before the wedding. We had about 4 appointments and we started with Sugar Mamas. From the second we walked in the door she felt like family. She was so kind and gave us perfect recommendations for what we were looking for and never once up sold us. I knew as soon as we met her she would be the one we go with just because of her personal touches and great customer service.
But then we tasted her cupcakes.... WOW!!!!!!! My father loves sweets and is very picky with his cakes but even he said it was the best cupcake he has ever had!
I felt bad for all the other appointments we had because Erin set the bar so high and she won by a mile compared to the other larger and well-known bakery's we went to.
We booked cupcakes and a small cutting cake for us. The flavors we chose were lemon, wedding cake, pumpkin and red velvet. ALL were a huge hit. We boxed up our cutting cake with the plan to save it for our year anniversary. However, my family and I stayed a few days after and we all were craving the cake and ate the whole thing before we left.
I wish we lived in the area because we would book her for all our events. But we can't wait to come up for our anniversary every year and we are planning on getting a cupcake every time.

She kept us abreast of different flavors that were being introduced so we could take all flavors and options into consideration. Her set up at our venue was immaculate and we were informed by our venue that she is a preferred vendor with them, because of how helpful and thorough she is! Erin is WONDERFUL and very easy to work with. We decided to go with a 6” round cake for us and then cupcakes for the guests. Both were absolutely delicious and looked amazing. Cupcake flavor options are all to die for - not a bad option there. Our Wedding Cake was EXACTLY what we talked about and gorgeous. It also tasted amazing so we are excited to have a piece again on our 1-year anniversary! If you come with inspiration Erin will knock it out of the park with both design and taste.
Just had my daughters wedding this weekend and the cupcake tower with mini cake on top looked spectacular and tasted even better! You cannot go wrong with Erin and Sugar Mama's!

Cupcakes were both delicious and beautiful! We ended up having 7 flavors at our wedding and each was highly complimented. The display was beautiful as well. Lastly we had our own mini wedding cake that was a naked cake with PB frosting on chocolate cake - so yummy! Would highly recommend for any wedding or any celebration that needs sweets!

Erin DeMelo is a cake genius and incredible person. Despite being in the middle of opening her new location and COVID restrictions on how tastings could work, she made us feel so special. She took down some preferences and made us a lovely tasting box we could take home and have fun with. It was so hard to choose because everything in there was so good!
We eventually chose our flavors and showed up with a picture of what we wanted. On the day of, it was PERFECT. Looked just how we wanted it to and tasted even better. So many weddings cakes are dry or flavorless but not this one. The texture of the buttercream was amazing - not grainy, not greasy. Light, fluffy, wonderful.
MY husband and I saved our top tier in the freezer for our anniversary and I don't know if I'll be able to be patient enough to wait.
Erin was so easy to work with for our wedding! We had the best time trying all of her delicious flavors and deciding what special touches we could add. She is very willing to answer any questions through the decision making process, and our guests RAVED about the unique flavors of cupcakes we had!
I'd had Sugar Mama's cupcakes prior to wedding planning - they've always been delicious, so once we started planning, I knew this was where we'd get our cake/cupcakes. We got a small cake and 4 different flavors of cupcakes... there wasn't a single cupcake left at the end of the night - and we'd ordered more cupcakes than we had guests. And I can't go without mentioning that everything looked beautiful too. Erin is great to work with - her cupcakes are the best!
If you are looking for cupcakes that will leave your guests asking for more then look no further than Erin! Her treats are delicious and she has a ton of flavors to choose from. She is also easy to work with and was also a great source to turn to during the planning process. We will definitely be turning to Erin again for any special occasion.

WOW! Erin at Sugar Mama's Sweets and Treats is top notch! Erin did beautiful job with our wedding cake! It was absolutely stunning and the taste was incredible (lemon with raspberry filling and white butter cream with pearl accents. Simple elegance and delicious!) Our guests enjoyed it and yes, I had seconds! Erin was wonderful to work with and stayed in touch with us as we had to move our date out due to Covid challenges. Erin is fabulous!!! Due to some family health issues, we replanned our wedding in 2 months! I found Sugar Mama’s using The Knot and I’m so glad I did!! We were scrambling to plan for 250 guests and Erin was SO accommodating giving me so much guidance on how to create a beautiful yet affordable cake and cupcake display! It came out gorgeous! Everyone absolutely loved her dessert table and by the end of the night, every single treat went!! I would highly recommend this bakery for all of your wedding or special occasions!

Sugar Mama (Erin) is the sweetest person to work with! (pun intended). Her cupcakes melt in your mouth and every single flavor is a masterpiece. We ordered 150 cupcakes and a one tier cake for our wedding. The way she displayed it was absolutely gorgeous and I'm still dreaming about that first bite I took after cutting the cake! I want to buy her cupcakes for every party I ever go to for the rest of my life!

Sugar Mamas did a great job with our wedding cake. I live in North Carolina, but was getting married in Newport so I didn't have much time to do cake tastings in the area. I was in town for the holidays and went to Sugar Mama's to see if I could do a tasting. Admittedly they let me know that they had just come back from the holidays and didn't have anything ready for me to taste. When I explained that I was flying back home the next day, they asked if I could give them an hour to whip some things up to try. I was so happy that they were able to work with me. We ended up doing a 3 tiered cake with 3 flavors. Each tier was amazing! My fiancé, who doesn't like cake, ate a piece at the wedding and fell in love! He and I could not stop eating the pineapple coconut cake. I will definitely be going back to Sugar Mamas for our anniversary and getting more of that cake for us.
Erin is simply one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. From the time we walked in to her shop we knew our wedding cake/cupcake station was going to be perfect . Cupcakes were amazing and many guests commented on the cool flavors. The display looked great and had all the personalized touches we asked for as well as a few awesome surprises. The owner was absolutely amazing In helping my indecisive sister choose her flavors and which stands to use. The cupcakes were a huge success at the wedding, everyone could not stop raving about them! OMG AMAZING!! My brother's wife picked the BEST amazing way to end the celebration with sweets. The lemon were my favorite but everyone enjoyed all 6 favors assortments. Would recommend Sugar Mama to everyone, she is as sweet as her treats.
This was the worst cupcake I have ever had...hands down. These were ordered for my bridal shower and literally no one ate them, which was very embarrassing since we had these instead of a cake. They tasted extremely dry and stale. I literally could’ve made boxed cupcakes better than these. To prove to you how bad they were since we had so many leftover I had a family member try to take them to a birthday party afterwards since we had so many leftover and none of the kids would eat them there either. Please, if you are trying to host a special event and don’t want to be embarrassed and look like you bought day old cupcakes from stop n shop then stay away from this place. They are not cheap and definitely not worth the price. Plenty of other places out there are more affordable and taste way better. If this place is really making their cupcakes this dry then they seriously need to either reconsider the recipe or stop selling old cupcakes to people that are paying good money and expecting good quality products. When we told the owner about the cupcakes she didn’t offer to credit anything back or try to make up for it in any way, she just was very confused since everyone loves her cupcakes?? So it must’ve just been all the people at our shower and the birthday party that don’t know what a good cupcake should taste like...Super disappointed.

Yes, we were confused by you and your sister’s reactions. Your cupcakes were part of a larger batch that we made for a wedding on the same day. We had no complaints from the other party, and in fact, they were extremely pleased with their order and stated that most of their cupcakes were eaten by the guests.
Initially your sister, who placed the order, messaged us on the day of the event that the party “was wonderful and the cupcakes were amazing”. She also never mentioned any issues the next day when she messaged us again that you would be dropping off the stands. Those were the same stands that we had waived the rental fees as a favor on the day that she picked up of the cupcakes.
On Monday morning, two days after the event, your sister, again messaged us that, on the night of then event, she “noticed that there were a lot left half eaten at the tables and still had 16 left at the end of the shower”, she then followed with another message that "I sent you the text initially because people were saying they were good" which was a bit baffling and contradictory to the other message and your review. Out of the 3 dozen you purchased, 16 were left, so 20 were consumed, but you yourself stated in the review above that “literally” no one ate them.
On the last message from your sister Monday afternoon, she stated that “My sister says that she will take down the reviews if you are willing to reimburse”. Again, not the normal process that most folks take when dissatisfied when a service or product.
I would be more than happy to share all of the messages your sister sent to us, as we kept all the copies. If you were in our shoes, I’m assuming that you would also be confused by the whole situation. If it helps, we would happy to speak live to see if we can rectify the situation.

I was waiting to write this review because I wanted to include a photo of the BEAUTIFUL cupcake display Erin arranged for my wedding...but alas, it doesn't appear that you can add photos to reviews. Nonetheless, I can't say enough great things about Erin and Sugar Mama's. Her cake & cupcake display ended up being one of my favorite features of my wedding. Everyone raved about the assortment of cupcake flavors, our bride and groom cake was exactly what I wanted, and most importantly everything was fresh & delicious! I used the knot to research bakeries in RI and started calling around. Everyone had our date booked. Then I called Erin at Sugar Mama’s Sweets and Treats. She had another wedding that day but was open to squeezing us in. We had a tasting with her that weekend and they were the most delicious cupcakes EVER!! We decided on an assortment of cupcakes and a 6” cake for us. My husband has a peanut allergy so she assured us she could make our 6” cake peanut free but nothing else-totally fine! Erin, we are so thankful you took on our wedding. Our guests still talk about how delicious our cupcakes were!!!!!!

Erin is great! Very friendly and went out of her way to make sure I got the flavors I wanted for my wedding cupcakes. We had one tasting, but she convinced me to come back in the fall to try seasonal flavors that would be available for our wedding. I was unable to make a full tasting work in my schedule so she went out of her way to send me home with some! So happy that I did because I chose those flavors! Everything was delicious and the set up looked so pretty! Even my guests who originally scoffed at my desire to have cupcakes said it looked and tasted great after all. Go check her out!!

Wow, I am so happy I chose Erin to do our cupcake table! We had our wedding on 8/25/18 with over 200 guests. We had 7 different cupcake flavors and a small cake to cut. Erin did an amazing job. We rented her stands and she delivered and set everything up with the flowers and other decor I gave to her. It looked beautiful. Everyone was raving about how delicious the cupcakes were. Erin is also very easy to reach and talk to. I highly recommend Sugar Mamas!

Erin was very accommodating, offering both a winter and summer complimentary tasting so that we could try the flavors in season for our wedding. Even though they had two weddings on the same day, Erin and her team worked around the tight set-up time and made everything look beautiful. You can't go wrong with Sugar Mama's!!
Oh my cupcakes! Erin made the desserts for our wedding this Summer and they all were showstoppers. The dessert table was a hit and definitely one of the focal points of the night. Erin was wonderful to work with start to finish. My husband has a severe nut allergy and she went above and beyond to make ensure all cupcakes/cake were safe for him. I couldn't have been happier with our choice! Everything was so delicious and guests are still talking about the presentation of the dessert table! Also, is you have a gluten allergy ... she makes a dynamite GF cupcake!

Erin was amazing to work with! Her cupcakes were so delicious they were the biggest hit at our wedding! The huge variety of flavors she offers are all incredible- she even did a baileys Irish cream cupcake for us after we told her I had a bunch of family coming from Ireland! All I can say is ORDER EXTRA! I ordered 2 dozen more than she advised (she told me to order extra to begin with!) and at the end of the night we had NONE left- they were a huge hit and everyone raved about them.
She also custom made an amazing grooms cake for my husband- I found a photo online (game of thrones themed!) and she recreated it to a T- it was amazing and he loved it!
On top of all of that, the set up she created was beyond gorgeous. So happy I found Erin and Sugar Mama’s!!

I would recommend Sugar Mama's for any occasion. Erin from Sugar Mama's did my daughter's wedding in September and I got rave reviews from the guests how fresh and delicious her cupcakes were. She is a true professional that loves her business and it shows.
Erin is not only so personable but she is so talented! She took my crazy ideas and helped make them a reality. She's willing to try different ideas and she comes through with amazing results! Our guests were talking about her cupcakes for months after the wedding! We've since bought her cupcakes for parties and our bachelorette weekend or even just stopping by for a craving for one! They look good and taste even better!! We will only goes to Erin at Sugar Mama's!

Me and my husband got married June 4th of this year. We went with cupcakes for our guest and a small cake at the top for us to cut. Sugar Mama's Sweets and Treats did an AMAZING JOB!!! My wedding reception was at a library and I had given Erin some paper rosettes to see if it might work as a decoration for the cake to keep with the “theme”. I was referred to sugar mamas from my venue and I was more than pleased with the final product. I wanted a cupcake tower and Erin the owner created such a beautiful piece. I rented her white cupcake stand and had about five different flavors of cupcakes for my 200 guests. The cupcakes looked and tasted delicious. Erin was busy with holiday season but still was fast in responding to me via phone or email and the price was affordable. Highly recommend!
Erin put together a beautiful dessert table of cupcakes and cake for our wedding and she was absolutely wonderful to work worth!! She was very responsive to emails and had some great ideas for our wedding, and was very accommodating to every request. All of our guests couldn’t wait to dig in (we faced a wall of hungry guests after the cake cutting) and they all raved about them afterwards. She has seasonal flavors as well as the flavors listed on the website.
We booked Sugar Mamas because of their great prices and gluten free options, and Erin’s genuine sweetness was a wonderful bonus! Unbeknownst to us at the time, my friend who’s wedding was years previous and inspired us to go the cupcake route when we saw and tasted her delicious cupcakes at her wedding actually used Sugar Mama’s too! We’ve already recommended them to another friend who has also signed with them for their wedding.
Even though Sugar Mamas is an hour drive from us, we go there for all our sweet-treat needs now!
Erin was wonderful to work with! She understood exactly what we wanted and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect! We chose to rent her cake stands and the display was beautiful. The cupcakes and ceremony cake were delicious. I'm so glad we picked Erin for our wedding!

I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Erin from sugar mamas. Starting from tasting I knew that I would enjoy working with her and the cupcakes were absolutely delicious! She gave great suggestions, was always kind, available and very accommodating! My cupcake tower at my wedding was perfect--I had the chocolate, strawberry fields, pumpkin and pina colada cupcakes. The cake on top was to die for. Everything was beautiful and my guests loved it! I cannot wait to order more for our one year anniversary. Erin at Sugar Mama's was so wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her to all RI brides! First of all, the cupcakes were insanely delicious...our guests are still raving about them. Second of all, the stands that we rented from her and the way she set them up / decorated the sweets table was so gorgeous. I truly could not have asked for more!! Now, I just can't wait until our first anniversary to eat the rest of our cake :)

Not only are the cupcakes delicious, but Erin, the owner of Sugar Mama's, is the most delightful person I had the pleasure to work with to make my wedding day perfect. My fiancee and I attended a wedding where we tried Erin's cupcakes and we were so impressed that we knew we wanted to work with her for our wedding. When we met with Erin for the first time to go over flavors I was overwhelmed with all the choices. She kindly prepared a box of 12 different cupcakes for my fiancee and I to try in the comfort of our home. We had a hard time picking our favorites because they were all delicious! She was also wonderful with making recommendations on the display that would go with our wedding theme and colors. On the day of our wedding, Erin's cupcake/cake display was magnificent. I kept walking to the cupcake table to admire how wonderful it turned out. Many guests at our wedding approached me and my husband asking where we got the cupcakes because they absolutely loved them! I would also like to mention that Sugar Mama's is very affordable and you really are getting a superb product. Sugar Mama's will always have my business and I will also recommend it to others!

Erin was genuine and a very easy person to work with. The cupcake presentation that she did for our wedding on 8/26/16 was incredible! Not only did they look great, they tasted amazing and all of our guests were raving about the flavors we had chosen. The Peanut Butter were the first to go :)

Erin was awesome. We loved the cupcakes. The pumpkin and apple was our absolute favorite. She had another wedding booked the same day we were having ours but was able to accommodate us. The table looked beautiful when we saw it with the rustic wood stand and bark. Everyone loved the cupcakes! We would definitely recommend her. Her prices are reasonable and her service is above and beyond. She even got extra wood slabs to go with our theme. Thanks Sugar Mamas for helping to make our wedding so special and memorable!!!

This place is amazing! Out of all my vendors Sugar Mamas gets my highest rating. On a scale of 1-10 I give Erin a 12. The cupcakes were delicious and the presentation was beyond beautiful. On top of that her prices were the best out there AND she's one of the nicest people we worked with. Look no further... She's the best 😀

I know it sounds cliche but Sugar Mamas really was the icing on our cake! We aren't cake people but we know how important dessert is at a wedding. Welllll Erin turned us into cake people and all of our guests wouldn't stop talking about the cupcakes. The display was beautiful as well. I priced out several vendors when it came to cupcakes/cake and Erin really was the most affordable. Her flavors are so delicious and creative. I want a cupcake right now!
Erin and the staff at Sugar Mama's exceeded our expectations! We chose to do a beachy cupcake tower for our wedding with a small wedding cake on top to cut. It was absolutely gorgeous and Erin definitely captured our vision. We gave her bride and groom adirondack chairs to put on top of the cake and she went out of her way to find a cute little flower bouquet to go in the bride’s chair. Not only were the cupcakes beautiful, but they were absolutely delicious! She even makes alcohol infused cupcakes, which were a hit! Erin is absolutely AMAZING!!! I changed my location only weeks before our wedding and she was more than happy to accommodate my new location. From the taste of the cakes to her setting up your table she does an outstanding job at it all. I will go back to her I'm ever in need of a beautiful cake.
