day run very smoothly, and I know I'm biased but it was definitely some of the best food I've ever had at a wedding. One guest even asked me for the recipe for the cannelloni which I did not have because I was the groom and not the chef. A lot of their food is local and seasonal so it can be a little tricky setting up a tasting with them - we weren't able to try a few of the dishes we wanted to have at our summer wedding because our tasting was in the winter. But everything we tried both at the tasting and day of was really exceptional. We'd highly recommend Sugar Pine Catering!

clean. I can confidentally say it was the best wedding food I've ever had. We had 120 people at our wedding and did plated meals - everyone got their food quickly and everyone's food was hot. On top of how amazing the food was, the staff was just incredible to work with. They were extremely responsive and so kind. Sugar Pine goes out of their way to ensure the food is local and you can taste it in the food. And their plating is beautiful!!

disappointed in our experience with Pine. We used Pine Pizzeria (subset of Sugar Pine). We should have known not to move forward with them from when we went to their restaurant for a “tasting”. We were told we could go to the restaurant to “sample their offerings” and when we arrived nobody at the restaurant knew we were there as wedding clients, we had to mention this to them, and then come to find out most of the items on the catering menus aren’t even available to try at the restaurant. It then took over an hour to get our food… We still have our meal there (which wasn’t cheap) and are brought the bill for over $100 (we sort of assumed since we were clients and had already paid thousands in a deposit we would get some sort of discount…this was also not the case). So overall this was not a great start to this relationship.
Then the actually wedding comes around. We had mentioned multiple times that even at tables that were not full, we wanted a setting at each chair for continuity, and my partner and I planned to move around tables so we wanted settings. Our coordinator put them there, Julie (with Pine) pulled them..even after our coordinator told them we wanted them there. So we go to sit down, and we (the bride and groom) don’t have place settings where we expected. We asked the catering team for a plate, they got us this but didn’t even bother to grab us silverware (which should be obvious since we had salads).
Next, we also ended up paying for more guests than we had attend the wedding, and they still ran out of food (after limiting our guests to 1-2 small slices of pizza). 1. We were never told guests would have limited slices and 2. Guests mostly had one round of food (so 1-2 small slices) before they ran out, and again, we paid for more guests than attended. One of my biggest concerns was not having enough food - and unfortunately this is exactly what happened.
We also come to find out our photographer was trying to take some photos of the pizzas being made, and was told to stop which we also were never told was even an issue.
The team actually cooking (Preston and the other chef) were great and working so hard. We are only giving any stars on this review just for them. Outside of this - we couldn’t be more frustrated and disappointed in the experience we had with the overall Pine team.

Going into wedding planning, we were disgruntled about how much food costs for weddings, even though guests never seem to recall (or even really enjoy) the food. You also assume that the food you taste at the tasting will be of higher caliber and the real deal will fall short; we experienced this first hand when our other catering option catered a wedding for one of our friends with the same entrees). That was NOT the case with Sugar Pine. The feedback we heard most about the wedding was how good the food was. Guests are used to bland, cold, bulk prepared food at weddings; so when they received the beautifully plated, fresh, delicious meal, it blew them away. In addition to the delicious food, Julie was a joy to work with and all of our questions were answered promptly. We are so grateful that we went with Sugar Pine!

During the catering vendor selection process, he was by far the most responsive vendor I submitted an inquiry to and turned around a proposal before several other caterers I had met with a week prior. He was very patient and answered all of my questions and also offered helpful suggestions along the way. To finalize our menu, we elected to do a tasting with Sugar Pine, which was a great experience and gave us peace of mind regarding our menu choices.
On the day of our wedding, Lance and the rest of the team at Sugar Pine Catering were attentive, courteous, and so caring. We elected to serve the food buffet style - everything was delicious, and the portions were generous!

I wasn't a big fan of a buffet but loved that this was a happy medium between buffet and plated. It also allowed our guests to naturally talk with one another if they didn't know each other. We went into the process expecting the usual wedding food experience but one of the top comments that we have gotten about our big day was how fantastic the food was and asking who our caterer was. We selected the butternut squash cannelloni and drunken braised beef cheeks. If I could have the cannelloni every day I would. The beef was so tender you didn't need even a butterknife to eat it. Everything from start to finish was also plated so beautifully.
Their bar service was fantastic. They worked with us to create 2 signature cocktails and offer a full open bar, but will work with you on whatever you need. They were extremely responsive and checked in every step of the way as well.

You can tell that the staff and chefs at Sugar Pine truly love good quality food and care about where the ingredients are from. They put so much thought and care into their food which i think is what makes it so delicious.
Lance was so great to work with. He was always easy to get in touch with and receptive to any changes we wanted to make along the way. He made the process fun and easy and helped walk us through things we might be missing or needed help with.
