Sully Mansion was built in 1890 and is designed in a Queen-Anne style. It features ornate ceiling medallions, stained glass windows, pine floors, and a grand staircase, helping to make the venue a classic and whimsical retreat. For more than 40 years, this charming locale and bed-and-breakfast has accommodated guests, providing a historic and memorable atmosphere. The current owners and the staff are devoted to preserving this slice of history for others to continue to enjoy for generations to come.
Sully Mansion is centrally located in New Orleans and across the streetcar on St. Charles. Events can take place outside in the courtyard, which has a jasmine-covered pergola and oak trees. There are a number of other spaces throughout the venue that can also be transformed for events. In addition, it is an ideal setting for engagement parties, showers, rehearsal dinners, and other gatherings. With its splendid architecture and elegant surroundings, it is well suited for celebrations with up to 30 people. This venue offers certain event rentals, such as linens, tables, chairs, and more. I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my wedding at The Sully Mansion, and it was nothing short of perfect. From the very beginning, Andrea was an absolute gem. Her dedication and warmth made the planning process not only smooth but genuinely enjoyable. She listened to our ideas and helped us craft a vision that truly reflected our love story.
The Turn Key Package was a game-changer for us. It allowed us to be involved in the planning as much as we wanted—sharing ideas and preferences—while also giving us the flexibility to step back and enjoy an stress-free experience. Andrea was there every step of the way, offering guidance and support whenever we needed it, making us feel completely at ease.
Communication with the entire team was seamless. Andrea always responded promptly to our questions, and her calm demeanor helped alleviate any pre-wedding jitters. On the big day, the service was outstanding. The staff treated our guests with such warmth and care, which truly elevated the entire experience.
The mansion itself provided a stunning backdrop that made our ceremony and reception feel magical. Every detail was taken care of, allowing us to soak in every moment with our loved ones.

The Sully Mansion was the only place we toured as a wedding venue, and my now husband and I fell in love with every part of it. It was exactly what he had envisioned for our micro-wedding of close family and friends. The owners have done a wonderful job of renovating the mansion to make it feel timeless while maintaining the home's original features. We rented out the mansion for the weekend of our wedding so that our family would all stay in the same place. Our families couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous of a place it was to stay. I felt like it gave everyone the perfect picture view of what a weekend away in New Orleans can feel like. Now... the wedding... I am still speechless as is my husband and our families. We selected to do the turnkey package since this matched well with our busy lives. I sent Andrea a few photos for my vision and WOW. Every day since our wedding we talk about how everything was so perfect from the florals, to the setup, to the food, to the little details. And I barely had to lift a finger! Andrea ensured that everything was seamless. I didn't have to stress about the little details because I trusted her to do what was best for our day, and she did! The vendors that she selected were fantastic. It is clear that the Sully Mansion has formed great relationships with some incredible vendors around town. They all went above and beyond to make us happy. I am so filled with joy that the Sully Mansion will forever be a part of our love story and a special place for us to stay in the future. Also, I highly encourage everyone to get married here during the Jasmine bloom! The jasmine scent fills the entire garden and the flowers are just the most beautiful touch to the day. I wish I could relive our day one thousand times over at the Sully Mansion!
We were so fortunate to book the Sully Mansion as our wedding venue. Coming from out of state not knowing anyone or the area and planning a wedding in 6 weeks can be scary, but Andrea and her staff at the Sully made every so simple and we had a beautiful intimate wedding. She put together an all-inclusive package so that all we and our guests had to do was show up and enjoy our special day. They helped us with every detail. Andrea was available whenever I wanted to chat and change things. Our guests could not stop raving about how incredible the dinner was. Also, hand cooked by non-other than the owner herself! We love our stay before and after at the Sully as well. The area is perfect and just a short streetcar ride to the French Quarter. We cannot wait to go back and celebrate our first anniversary.
We used the Sully Mansion as our getting ready location as well as our hotel for close family to stay for our December 2022 wedding. The bed and breakfast has 8 rooms, and we booked all of the rooms for our wedding weekend. It felt like we rented this beautiful home just to ourselves. Andrea was very responsive, accommodating for our of our needs, and easy to work with.
The bed and breakfast is beautiful, and very lovely for your getting ready and family photos! The light in the Bourbon room is incredible! Your wedding day photos will turn out beautifully with the Sully as your backdrop.
Cannot thank the Sully enough for being apart of our wedding weekend. It served as our home base for the wedding weekend, and we created life long memories there. Our families are still raving about this bed and breakfast! HIGHLY recommend staying and getting ready at the Sully Mansion for your wedding weekend!
Choosing Sully Mansion for our wedding weekend was one of the best decisions we could have made! Not only did we have our wedding ceremony and reception throughout the Mansion grounds, we also rented out the entire house and had all of our immediate family and close friends stay the entire weekend. That combination made the weekend truly special. The Sully allowed us to be surrounded by the people we love then entire weekend (much better than go back to individual hotel rooms). We were able to spend time together in the gorgeous sitting room, talking late into the night, and wake up in the morning to enjoy a delicious breakfast (which is included!) together before we started the day. It was the best way to bring both our families together and have everybody we love under one roof.
We saw many wedding venues in New Orleans, including several other mansions in the Garden District, but as soon as we stepped foot into the Sully, we knew there was nothing else like it. It was hands down the most beautiful space we visited. The recently renovated Mansion is classy, elegant, modern, and timeless. With such a beautiful venue, we barely had to decorate for the wedding. All of the bedrooms were also perfection! They all look like they came straight out of magazine. That also made for great “getting ready” photos!
And we can’t talk about the Sully Mansion without praising the amazing Innkeeper, Melinda! The Sully Mansion is a beautiful space, but it is just a shell without Melinda and her doggies. Melinda is the beating heart, soul, and joy of the Mansion. She is thoughtful, sweet, professional, and the most hospitable person I know. She made all of our guests feel welcomed and cared for during the entire weekend. On the night of the wedding, Melinda and her assistant stepped in to help the other vendors execute their tasks and went above and beyond to produce a flawless wedding. I don’t know what we would have done if it wasn’t for Melinda and her staff stepping in last minute to help. Melinda was also very helpful and responsive pre-wedding; she was always available to answer questions and addressed any concerns we had. Planning a wedding is stressful, but Melinda made it all feel possible with her calm demeanor and positive attitude.
We are so grateful for the Sully Mansion and Melinda for hosting the most beautiful, intimate, perfect wedding weekend. The Sully Mansion and Melinda are truly the best!
