The Venue Coordinator (Claire) appeared to be over-accommodating during our walk-thru with our Wedding Director (WD)/Coordinator and DJ a few weeks prior to the event. She stated that she and her crew would be there to help with the flip from ceremony to reception. It gave us a warm feeling to know that things were moving along. There was NO crew, only OUR friends who were eager to help make our day a success! Claire was present but not very helpful with the flip from ceremony to reception, only sweeping up the rose petals when our crew mentioned that they could be a fall hazard to anyone walking through the area. We asked for the temps to be cooler on Friday morning. The heat was left on and that was not discovered until after the flip and folks were back upstairs for the reception the NEXT day. It was a warm couple of days. The comfort of the venue should have been of importance to the Venue Coordinator. ANTS! Claire was made aware of this about an hour before the ceremony began. She said she “wiped up” where they were. The ants made it to several of the tables including the cake table AFTER the flip (there were a few tables against the wall right wall and a few in the back center as well). Our WD/Coordinator had to find Claire again to let her know that guests were finding ants crawling on their tables. Later, the Caterer made us aware of ants in the area where the buffet was set up. They said Claire sprayed the windows upstairs in the back where the food was being served and stated that “the ammonia SHOULD kill them”. They were still all over the sweet tea and lemonade. The Venue was not ready. That was embarrassing! Claire told us she would contact the caterer regarding table clean up and apparently she didn’t because we (the grooms and friends) had to clean up each table apparently without a resolve. Based on our conversations throughout the day before and the event day, Venue Coordinator was not consistent with ‘times’. Early evening during the reception, I stopped Claire and stated, “I can’t see this lasting until 8pm”. She then stated, “oh no, the event is supposed to be over at 6:00”. This put us in an awkward position because we then had to end our enjoyment and begin to clean up. This put our friends and family in a state of confusion when they were partying and having a great time. Because of the Nikki Haley rally, Claire stated that there would be cones in place in the parking lot on Oregon that would reserve the space for our guests. Cones were not moved and many of our guests didn’t make it to the wedding on time. They made it after reception had started. Claire also said she was calling Allegra to have signs made for parking and that didn’t happen. The upstairs kitchen had dish washing liquid but paper towels had to be retrieved from the ladies restroom. Venue Coordinator should NOT have shown up on event day dressed as she was in workout or lazy Saturday clothes. Guests actually thought our WD/Coordinator was the Venue Coordinator. For this being One Forty Six’s first event, we would have hoped for the Venue Coordinator to be pristine. The Venue Coordinator should be on point especially at the price that we paid. The Venue needs to express how the contract spells out things a little better and if stated items are not on the contract, then they shall not be. It left us feeling as though we were not being told the truth, especially when so many things appeared to be uncertain during Friday and Saturday.
We had our wedding reception and rehearsal dinner at Sundance Gallery. Jon and his staff were not only extremely professional and knowledgeable, but also went above and beyond to make my wedding experience awesome! The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous featuring exposed brick, and indoor/outdoor space. 10/10 recommend Jon and Sundance Gallery. I hope to have another event here in the future!
