The experience my husband and I had at Sunnybrook was fantastic. From the initial tour, and every meeting leading up to the big day, Larami and the rest of the team at Sunnybrook was top notch. The day was perfect. Truly. The bridal suite was spacious and had great lighting making it easy to get ready the day of. It also was a great place of rest in between the big moments. The guys were thrilled to have a place of their own to hang out too. We got SUPER lucky for November weather and were able to have our ceremony outside. The staff kept everything organized and beautiful for all our guests and naturally moved them over to the patio for cocktail hour. The food of course was a show stopper. Every guest enjoyed everything they ate. Many guests shared that it’s the first wedding they’ve been to where they actually ate throughout the whole wedding. (They also sent us home with a meal which is a huge bonus). In itself the venue is beautiful. It’s timeless, spacious, and made for the best vibes. Tons of our guests stayed till the end because the timeline worked so well too. My husband and I have not stopped saying for the last month how perfect our wedding was. It exceeded any dreams we ever could’ve had and Larami and the team at Sunnybrook deserve a HUGE round of applause.

Larami and the team at Sunnybrook are AMAZING. Our guests raved about cocktail hour and our plates dinner options. Larami blew us away with her gorgeous florals! Our outdoor ceremony was moved under the patio because of rain, and it was STUNNING. Our guests are still talking about the beautiful venue and florals. Sunnybrook is a one stop shop for gorgeous, memorable weddings. Do not hesitate!

My son was married here in Sept. 2022 and so many guests commented it was the best wedding they have ever attended. The venue is beautiful and the food was so good, too! Nice indoor and outdoor spaces and continency plans if bad weather. They handled the rehearsal as well and it was nice to be able to have everything in one place. Definitely recommend!

My daughter got married here in September 2022. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The venue is beautiful, inside and out! They take care of so many aspects of the wedding that there is very little to coordinate outside of Sunnybrook, which was a huge plus for us. Larami was amazing from the beginning, handling every detail and always pleasant and genuinely happy for our family. You can tell she loves what she does. Multiple guests said it was the best wedding they had ever attended. Classy, fun and the food was phenomenal. I highly recommend Sunnybrook!

Given the circumstances of 2020, we planned many different wedding versions with Sunnybrook. In the end, we wouldn’t have had it any other way. They were SO accommodating when we made a late decision to completely change plans to hold a small but safe wedding ceremony in 2020, then have a larger party/reception in 2021. After hearing so many horror stories from other brides postponing/canceling pandemic weddings, we knew we lucked out with Sunnybrook. We decided we wanted a more intimate venue for our small pandemic ceremony, and of course Sunnybrook already had connections at the new venue, making the change seamless. Larami and team produced a GORGEOUS wedding in such a short amount of time and within our budget. And the FOOD. Apparently, people complain about wedding food? No- not with Sunnybrook you don’t. It's all delicious, but you especially need the herb/parmesan crusted chicken in your life. Throughout the night, Larami made sure we were moving through the scheduled activities and that we had whatever we needed (snacks, wine refills, a blanket probably?). Though it was not what was originally planned, we (and our guests) look back in awe on this day and cannot believe how wonderful it turned out. It really was a dream. We are so grateful to Sunnybrook for these memories. Over the next year we planned the Wedding Part II- since we were already married, we introduced some non-traditional bits, and Sunnybrook was more than accommodating to make it happen (not into unity candles? Go for a unity sandwich!). We live out-of-state, but Larami was very clear in email messages, and it was easy to communicate any changes or questions. She never made us feel like a bother even when asking so many questions. When we met all together with both sets of parents, Larami was exceptional at balancing everyone’s opinions and making everyone feel heard (it is difficult enough to please just the bride and groom!). Just like our first small ceremony, Wedding Part II was also more beautiful than we imagined- the staff at Sunnybrook are experts at taking your vision (and your special items you want included in your day) and putting it together to make it feel like a celebration. Just as the first small ceremony, the food was outstanding and Larami guided us through the day to ensure we stayed on schedule. The Sunnybrook venue has multiple ceremony space options (hello, automatic rain backup plan!) and stunning photo opportunities inside and out. It has beautiful accommodations for the wedding party during the day- the bridal suite is elegant, spacious, has a kitchenette, has bluetooth speakers in the ceiling for a pre-wedding girls-only dance party, and has perfect lighting for hair and makeup (and those getting ready photos!). The men have their own carriage house with kitchenette to hang out as well (let’s be real, you know the bride is writing this, but I’m fairly certain they didn’t care about much else in their space except the amount of beer their kitchenette fridge could hold) After having two weddings planned over two years with Sunnybrook, we likely learned more about their event planning process and customer service than the average client does. If there were grievances to be had, we likely would have come across them. With that said, help them help you- hold up your end of the deal, communicate, and stick to the plan so that you too can get a taste of that thrilling parmesan crusted chicken. P.S. Tip your vendors.

My husband and I got married at Sunnybrook back in October, and we can honestly say it was our dream wedding! When we first started searching for venues, we fell in love with Sunnybrook because of the beauty of the indoor/outdoor space, the location, and the all inclusive options. Larami, the event coordinator, was absolutely amazing! She helped us out so much through the planning process and we were able to meet with her several times before our wedding. She helped bring our vision to life and on our wedding day, she kept everything running smoothly, kept us on schedule, and made sure everything was right in place. The entire staff went above and beyond to take care of us and our guests throughout the day. The food was also fantastic and our sweetheart cake/cupcakes were delicious! We are still in awe of how wonderful our day was and we will be forever grateful that we chose to have our special day at this venue. It was truly everything we could have hoped for. Thank you so much!!!

My husband and I had the most perfect experience having our wedding at Sunnybrook. Larami was absolutely AMAZING throughout the 1.5 years she was working with us. She was so incredibly thoughtful about every single detail. She was responsive and really took our vision to heart. I can't say enough great things about her or her staff. We didn't have to worry about anything because we knew they had it handled. Our guests are still raving about the food and the venue. I would highly recommend Sunnybrook to anyone who is looking to have their dream wedding!

My husband and I had our dream wedding here on April 17, 2021. Sunnybrook also held our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, catered both rehearsal dinner and wedding, made and beautiful and delicious cake, AND arrange breathtaking florals. Words cannot begin to describe how perfect everything was— rehearsal, dinner, the morning of, the ceremony, and of course the reception. Larami and Tammy were on top of even the tiniest of details. I highly recommend Sunnybrook for any event. The impeccably kept house and garden sell themselves, and could write a novel about the amazing food, but the personnel is the truest and best selling point of this venue. On what I assumed was supposed to be the most stressful morning of my life, I felt a sense of ease all day knowing that Larami was in charge and I didn’t need to worry about a thing. I know I’ve said it before and I’ll never stop saying it: thank you, thank you, thank you Sunnybrook for the best day (weekend!) of my life.

What can we say about Plantation. From the beginning of planning in early 2019, Larami and the staff were amazing. Always remained in contact and provided so many great ideas on how to use their space to fit any wish we had. When it came to postponing our wedding due to COVID-19, the staff were more than accommodating to moving our date to Aug. 2020. My wife and I had reservations about how a wedding we originally planned with 120 guests would look with 50-60 there. The space was perfect for that size and we could both envision it being perfect for larger gatherings too. On a warm/humid summer day, the ballroom remained comfortably cool along with the Bridal and Groom Suites. The food was some of the best we have ever had at a wedding. We brought our parents there for lunch last year to show them the venue and thought the food was excellent. The banquet food was even better. All of the wait staff and Larami remained attentive to us as bride and groom as well as every guest. We enjoyed being able to dance outside under the covered patio however this late in the year, the grounds could use a little more attention to detail. We enjoyed being able to provide our own alcohol for a small per person fee. We would highly recommend this venue again and again

Larami made wedding planning the easiest process imaginable. We switched our original venue to this one only about three months before the wedding. However, no one would have realized that in thanks to how perfect Larami was about organizing everything. She answered all of our questions, was incredibly easy to reach through email, paid attention to details I didn't even think about, and helped us plan a perfect and delicious menu. Everything was beautiful! All of my vendors mentioned how gorgeous the venue was and how on top of everything Larami was. We cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Larami and her staff were more amazing than words! From the first time we visited to the end of the reception there was nothing that wasn’t perfect. She was so patient and understand with all our changes. Her communications were always exactly when we needed them and explained everything beautifully. Week of/Day of: Larami was a godsend. She took care of everything and made it so that my husband and I had nothing to worry about. She even did out flowers too and let me tell you, I never thought I was going to cry when I saw flowers but when you see a bridal bouquet like the one she made me, it would have brought anyone to tears. All of our floral visions Larami was able to bring to life and beyond! During the ceremony and reception, she coordinated everything and the whole day ran without a hitch! I absolutely cannot day enough amazing things about The plantation, Larami and everyone else there! Thank you, thank you!

The Plantation was the site of our wedding reception, as well as where the bridal party got ready. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! My fiancé and I were long distance before our wedding, and the Plantation was super flexible with scheduling planning meetings. Larami was our coordinator and she was fabulous! She made the day such a breeze and so worry free. She handled all the little details, even setting up the reception space! And the food is delicious. We LOVED our reception and would recommend this venue to anyone!

My husband and I got married here in May of 2019. The venue is beautiful and the team is incredible. They make the chaos of wedding planning so easy and fun. They are willing to accommodate pretty much any need or request and are truly there to make this day the best of your life. The bridal suite and grooms suite were perfect for getting ready. The reception space was plenty big for our 140 guests. There was a rain scare the day of my wedding and the team completely handled everything in case we had to switch spaces for the ceremony and wiped down all chairs and made sure it was perfect. Jessica Turley was our coordinator and was absolutely awesome. Would highly recommend this venue!!!

So many good things to say, it's hard to know where to start! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. Several options for the ceremony, all of which are lovely. We choose the boxwood garden, and it was gorgeous the time of year that we got married! They keep up the grounds really well, and have lots of bloom around the property. The reception area (covered patio for dancing, dining hall, buffet line, and sitting area) was lovely as well. We also got our flowers and catering through Sunnybrook. The food was DELICIOUS! Our guests raved about it. They really worked with us too on finding the perfect menu items for our budget and taste. Easily able to accommodate myself and several guests with dietary restrictions/preferences. Larami, our wedding coordinator and florist, was really the shining star of our special day. Our flowers were so gorgeous! Not knowing much about flowers, I simply told her the look I was going for & my budget, and she created bouquets and arrangements that were EXACTLY what I wanted!! So beautiful! She has such a talent. She was easily able to understand what I wanted and kept it in budget, never once pressuring me to spend more than I was comfortable with. The months and weeks leading up to my wedding, Larami was such a huge help. She helped me think of anything I could possibly need and more. She regularly checked in with my husband & I to make sure we were happy and well prepared for our day. The day of, she was absolutely amazing. I had zero stress. The entire ceremony and reception went off without a hitch. I don't know how she did it! I also want to shout out to the staff, including the chef(s) and servers/bartenders. They did an excellent job! Everything was tasty and served with a smile. Couldn't have asked for more! The owner, Tammy, is very nice and clearly runs a very well-run establishment. I met/spoke with her several times throughout the process of planning my wedding, and she made us feel so welcome and special. If you are considering this venue for your wedding, my advice is to go for it! You will be so happy you did! Thank you Sunnybrook!

The Plantation on Sunnybrook is an amazing venue! From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and heard. Not only did they do a great job of working with me to make my day exactly what I envisioned, but they took time along the way to check in and follow up, making the process easy and enjoyable. Planning a wedding can be stressful but Jessica and the staff take the pressure off. The venue was beautiful and accommodating. My guests talked about everything being perfect and staff being nice and helpful. I used plantation-creations to do my flowers and centerpieces. They were a dream. My friends and family raved about the atmosphere and the food being some of the best they have had at a wedding. Jessica also recommended the RSP Entertainment from their list of venders and they were great, easy to work with and kept the dancing going throughout the night. I can’t say enough good things about this venue and staff. They made our wedding day fun, enjoyable, care-free and beautiful. Once the day started, I knew that everything I had said or communicated would happen without me having to think about it. Love this venue and staff, wouldn’t have wanted my wedding anywhere else!

The Plantation on Sunnybrook was an excellent choice for my wedding. From the planning process, to the day of, there was zero stress because of their great services. My wedding planner, Larami, was thorough, organized, always calm and reassuring. She planned the perfect day and everything went so smooth! There wasn’t a single wrinkle in the process. I am so happy I chose such a wonderful venue that took care of all of my wedding day needs. It was so easy for me as a bride having The Plantation on Sunnybrook as my wedding venue. I highly recommend checking them out! Not to mention, their food is out of this world! YUM!!

We planned our wedding with Larami and booked with the the Plantation on Sunnybrook about 10 months before our wedding date. I cannot brag on Larami enough. She met with me whenever I wanted, even at 6:00 on a Friday night when everyone had gone home. I decided to do my flowers through the Plantation as well and was completely blown away. She took my vision and expanded upon it in a way I couldn’t see, but her creative mind could. She took care of anything that went wrong without me knowing and even hopped behind the bar at one point when it got crazy! I would recommend her to anyone looking for a planner. The Plantation offers catering, cake, flowers, and more. It’s truly a one stop shop and we took advantage of that! Wouldn’t have done it any other way!

They took care of all our needs and were super on top of everything. The plantation went above and beyond our expectations to make the day perfect.

Tammy and crew were incredible. They provided an excellent dinner, a wonderful setting and tremendous flexibility to help my daughter enjoy her big day. We had hoped for an outdoor setting but the weather didn't want to cooperate so they moved it under the pavilion roof. This was not second best at all, the pavilion is beautiful. The meal was so good. I usually prepare myself for the "Woody tasting chicken" experience when I go to events but their fare was fantastic. I felt like I was at a nice restaurant and I enjoyed the wedding cake several times the week following the event. If there were two words I could use to sum up my interactions with Tammy and her team they would be flexible and excellent. Those, with a nice dose of "It will be fine" are great qualities to have in a venue coordinator.

The ladies at Plantation were easy to talk with and helped plan out decor when I didn't know what I really wanted. The food was delicious and the venue is just beautiful. The staff were kind and things went pretty smoothly. It was a great day with little stress.

The Plantation of Sunnybrook has been absolutely amazing to work with. We just got back from our honeymoon a few days ago and are still getting compliments about how beautiful our venue was. I absolutely love the set up. There are three different areas we used and it was so easy and seamless for our guests to move from spot to spot. We were married up in the garden area in front of the big white pergola. The way the team had it set up with all of the white chairs and the big umbrellas to keep our guests cool on a very hot day was absolutely gorgeous. My favorite spot of all is the cocktail hour/reception area which is on a covered patio. Once it gets dark outside and all of the lights that are strung through the trees turn on-- it looks stunning. Our guests also loved that the dinner portion of the night was inside the beautiful old plantation house. Everything was absolutely perfect. While the venue is amazing-- I cannot say enough good things about Tammy. She was our wedding planner and I can't imagine planning a wedding without her. She was so on top of everything.. asking us questions and reminding us about interesting and uniquend details we never would have thought of. She made sure the whole night went as planned.. and it was her help and all of the little extras and surprises that really made our wedding night what it was. We absolutely love the Plantation on Sunnybrook!

The location is beautiful and very convenient for our wedding venue. The staff was more then gracious and helpful throughout the event. The menu choices are wonderful and the food is amazing, all our guests were mentioning the presentation and taste of the food 5 star quality. The entire event was organized with such ease from the event coordinators expertise in the music, food, flowers, and cake. I was able to enjoy the entire event as the Mother Of The Bride because of the Plantation On Sunnybrook staff. Thank You! It was fabulously organized and put together.

My husband and I were married at the Plantation May 2015. The grounds were well kept and made for a beautiful outside cocktail hour and wedding. The inside was stunning and the elegance atmosphere was perfect for our country French themed wedding. The staff was wonderful; they were extremely accommodating and professional through the process . The owner/wedding coordinator was amazing. She made sure every detail from the flowers, linens, set up, and so much more was perfect and exactly as asked. She handled each meeting with professionalizim and grace, even when I changed the design plan one month prior to the wedding. Although the details were on point, the guest still rave about the quality and taste of the food. The pasta station, cake, and cookie bar was so delicious and such a big hit. As for the price, they staff works with you and customize each and every detail for you. We were extremely pleased as they executed the rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception to complete perfection.

We chose the Plantation on Sunnybrook for our wedding reception in late July, 2015. We couldn't have been happier with the indoor and outdoor spaces, the food, and the helpful staff. Our wedding coordinator, Allison, was amazing to work with from start to finish.

We used Plantation on Sunnybrook as the caterer for our wedding in June at Sundara in Boones Mill, VA. We worked with Tammy Scaggs, who did a wonderful job creating a menu for us and modifying it as we requested. We were able to give Tammy a sense of our budget and she did a great job trying to stay within in, although weddings always tend to be a little more expensive than everyone anticipates. The staff was very professional and attentive during the reception and the food turned out amazing. We didn't have to worry about anything the day of the wedding, which was obviously ideal. My only complaint is that they only offer tastings the second Wednesday of each month, and we had to commute from Arlington, VA (3.5 hours away) any time we wanted to meet with our vendors, so coming in town in the middle of the week for a tasting did not work for us and we had to pick the food without getting to taste it. However, Tammy did a great job describing the items to us and we felt like we were in good hands, so we were not disappointed in the food. All of the guests had great things to say about the menu as well. Overall, I was very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend Platation for their catering services.

I had both my wedding ceremony and reception at The Plantation on Sunnybrook! Everything was PERFECT... including the weather! Tammy and her staff were wonderful, making sure everything went smoothly and just the way I had imagined! Staff is easy to work with and listens to what your vision is as a bride! Great job coordinating with other vendors and making sure all was done before guests started to arrive! Food was also great!

My daughter's wedding & reception were held at Plantation in late July. Everything was absolutely beautiful! We all live hours away from Roanoke so it was important to work with someone who could provide as many services as possible. Tammy was not only extremely helpful as a result of her experience & creativity, but also was very patient with our many calls & emails! Tammy & the Plantation staff helped us make decisions on the many necessary details, listened to what the bride & groom wanted for the overall look & feel, worked with us (& our budget) to determine the food selections - and executed everything wonderfully! They also easily incorporated our ideas & the decorations we provided. The bride & groom had a photographer selected & Tammy made great suggestions for area hotels, rehearsal dinner locations & a DJ, who was also fantastic. Tammy & her staff also worked very collaboratively with our DJ & photographer. The rehearsal, ceremony & reception all went very smoothly. Tammy provided great direction to keep things moving & was a steady, reassuring presence throughout - even with a few contingency plans ready to put into action because of rain. Fortunately, it stopped a couple of hours before the ceremony so it barely impacted our original plans. The beautiful details of Plantation's interior, as well as the lovely terrace & landscaping, were made even prettier as the decorations, flowers & table settings all came together. Countless guests commented about how much they enjoyed the food & what a beautiful wedding it was - some even said it was the best wedding & reception they had ever attended. Most importantly, the bride & groom were completely satisfied with every aspect!

My daughter, Christina, was married at the Plantation Creations Catering & Events, The Plantation on Sunnybrook located in Roanoke, Virginia in June 2012. She set up an appointment and went in to meet with the Wedding Coordinator. The first meeting she attended giving a general idea of what she was thinking in regards to her theme. She met with Tammy Scaggs. Tammy took the ideas from her theme and came up with suggestions to fit that theme. My daughter’s first theme was Masquerade Ball. Two months into the planning and after we had signed the contract my daughter changes her theme to Alice in Wonderland. Tammy revamped the original contract and incorporated everything new into the new theme. The day of my daughter’s wedding came and everything was absolutely perfect. Plantation on Sunnybrook handled everything from flowers, decorating, catering, the cake and the entire cleanup. The food was delicious and was plentiful. The flowers were fresh and beautiful. The decorations were done to perfection. The cake was four tiered with red roses running all the way down it. The staff was professional and accommodating to all of our guests. Plantation on Sunnybrook did an excellent job. All of our guests left saying it was the best wedding/party they had ever attended. Our experience with Plantation on Sunnybrook was one of complete happiness. We have decided to make Plantation on Sunnybrook the place that we celebrate all our special occasions.

We had our wedding here this past weekend, and this venue was one of the best choices we made. Tammy helped put our wedding vision to life. She met with me on several occasions and exchanged emails/calls to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. I loved that they did our flowers, food, decoration setup, and that we could get married and have our reception at the same location. They definitely made the process a little less stressful. I had so many people tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

The staff made everything so effortless and work with you every step of the way! Not only did they provide the venue for our reception but for our ceremony as well. They did our cake, flowers, linens and ceremony. Everything was perfect, I highly recommend them!

I just got married in August 2011 at the Plantation on Sunnybrook - It was a wonderful wedding day & an overall great wedding planning experience! I live in Florida and was very worried about planning a wedding in my hometown 800 miles away. Plantation on Sunnybrook was there with me every step of the way. I not only had my wedding reception there, but also had my ceremony in their backyard. I used their services for catering, flowers and my wedding cake. Kim, my assigned wedding planner, was very professional, kind and organized. She worked with me within my budget, researching ideas, etc. We continue to hear from our guest how much they loved the location, the service, and the FOOD! :)
