You truly cannot find anywhere else that can compare to Sunset Bluffs! We wanted a place we could stay the night at, get ready the day of at, be able to house our wedding party and family comfortably before the ceremony, have both the ceremony and reception there, and have beautiful enough grounds we wouldn’t want to leave for pictures. This place has all of that and more! The house and reception hall are spacious and modern and the grounds are stunning. What seals the deal is how outstanding the staff is there. They responded quickly to emails and phone calls and helped out any way they could. Just truly lovely people running that venue! You can’t do better than Sunset Bluffs!

Sunset Bluffs is a surprisingly resort-like setting right here in Washington, Missouri! It’s picturesque from every angle which makes photography great from any direction! The bluffs, waterfall, sandy beach, fountain in the beautiful lake and sunsets are all included! There are two homes for rent on the property and they are both modern, spacious, fully-stocked with all the necessities! The balcony makes the best place for bridal photos overlooking the beautiful property features. There are places for inside or outside ceremonies and receptions. It’s also a perfect place for family reunions with both large homes, swimming in the lake and grassy areas for games and outdoor activities. The staff is one step in front of you, carving the way. They are so attentive, caring and outright just what you want when planning an event. They helped us up to the last minute and even sent us off with a personal “goodbye” outside the door as we were leaving. I HIGHLY recommend Sunset Bluffs for any large event you may be planning. They also work close with Cafe Mosaic Catering and they are equally outstanding with the most delicious food. They sit down with you for a tasting so you can sample any dishes you are considering and they have a terrific menu! Sunset Bluffs and Cafe Mosaic are a perfect combination for any event.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Gretchen & Sharon are truly the best to work with! They were so responsive & kind. I actually felt bad at how often my parents & I were contacting them (multiple emails & calls a day) but they never acted bothered and were always quick to respond and do whatever they could to help! They were so accommodating, full of suggestions if we wanted them (I suggest taking them :)), and very organized. Honestly, I'm not sure what would have happened had we not had them. They were great about being in contact with our other vendors and making sure things run smoothly. They went out of their way on numerous things they didn't have to. For example, repositioning our tables last minute, helping set up our backdrop placement, or what felt like 50 people tried to bustle my dress that night - Gretchen saw the struggle and took the time to stop what she was doing and really figure it out for me - It was a blessing. They both seem so experienced and really do care! They truly were the reason everything went smoothly and I know there was so much behind-the-scene work that went on that I don't even know about. I can't thank them enough!

Communication was great! On the day of, Sharon, was a rockstar! She was our point person for everything leading up to and day of. We are so appreciative of all her help to make our day so perfect! She went above and beyond, even going as far as taking care of our dog during the reception (which she really did not have to do!) The venue itself is gorgeous and our Sunset pictures turned out beautifully. The other staff was great as well! 100% recommend this venue for a fall wedding!

Sunset Bluffs is a stunning venue with great amenities, we loved the venue as a whole but did not have the same interactions with staff it seems like others did. Most communication was initiated on our part. During the reception, I stated that they could pack up our inside decor when asked, but it was taken a step further and placed outside which left family to have to clean it up mid reception. We also had cleaning crews entering the house prior to us leaving without notice or permission. There were a few other similar issues throughout our stay that were frustrating and made it feel like just a property rather than a wedding venue. I think they could benefit from adding a wedding coordinator to their staff. Our wedding was great and we got tons of compliments on the venue, but some of our interactions were less than ideal.

Gretchen and Sharron were awesome to work with throughout the whole process. They answered emails and calls without delay. They made the process very smooth and wedding day went off without a hitch.

This venue is everything we could have hoped for for our wedding this past week. Gretchen, Pat and Sharon were amazing to work with and made our weekend run so smoothly. The venue itself is beautiful and all of our guests commented all night about what an awesome experience it was. Highly recommend sunset bluffs, it was worth every penny.

Gretchen and Shannon are AMAZING!!!!! Their response time is quick, the hospitality was superb, the venue space and scenery were breathtaking the pictures online doesn't say enough; its REALLY GORGEOUS!!!

We booked the full venue for our entire wedding weekend. Around a year after we booked our wedding date, Sunset Bluffs changed ownership to Gretchen and Pat. Additionally, after booking our wedding date, we moved to Maryland. The new owners were so easy to work with and very responsive to questions. While planning the wedding from Maryland, Gretchen and Pat were very accommodating and worked within our schedule, fitting visits (and tastings) to when we could be in Saint Louis. We arrived the morning before our wedding. When we got there, the tables were set up in the reception hall and under the tent for our cocktail hour. The chairs were set up for our ceremony. Both houses were ready on time and were very clean. We realized the day before the ceremony that we didn't have numbers to put on the tables, and Gretchen and Sharron were able to get those for us by the next morning. We spent most of the day before our wedding hanging out around/in the lake. The water was very nice, and everyone in our wedding party had a great time. Plus, we were able to grill for our rehearsal dinner using the venue's grill. Speaking of food, we used Mosaic catering, which is owned by Pat and is the site's preferred caterer. We were somewhat reticent about having to use the site's preferred caterer, but the food turned out amazing. Our guests are still raving about it. Plus, it was very reasonably-priced, despite us customizing our menu quite a bit. The venue itself is beautiful. All of our photos look amazing. I'm particularly impressed with how the sunset photos turned out. Despite being taken a bit earlier than sunset itself and despite how tired I remember both of us being at that point, they look beautiful. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how much fun our guests and wedding party had during the weekend. No one could believe that a venue like this existed in Missouri. Sunset Bluffs provided us with exactly what we wanted: A beautiful destination wedding experience that our Saint Louis family and friends could easily attend by car.

Gretchen, Pat and Sharron were the absolute best. We needed to have some special accommodations for a member of the family who is wheelchair bound, and they were able to not only accommodate but make it completely stress free on the day of our wedding. All three were so helpful and always quick to respond to any emails or phone calls when I had questions or needed to adjust a detail while wedding planning. I cannot recommend this vendor enough. Gretchen and Sharron also took the time to do a second tour of the venue when they learned our photographer had not been to the location before, which really made a difference in our pictures on the day of our wedding. Sincerely cannot say enough good things, we were able to pull off our dream wedding without a hitch.

Our venue was absolutely amazing. Everyone commented on how beautiful it was. And Gretchen and Sharron were just fantastic! They made sure to meet 60 days and 30 days out from the wedding, which was amazing to hash details out and make sure everyone was on the same page. They kept the guest moving to the correct locations and kept my now husband and I on time with our itinerary. When I expressed concern about the ownership change Gretchen let us do another venue tour with us and our photographer. I felt like they did everything I expected then a whole lot more. From the team setting up, bartenders and those organizing everything the whole team was so kind, and understanding. I really wish I could think of more nice things to say I am so thankful for how our wedding worked out.

Had an absolutely fabulous experience hosting our wedding at Sunset Bluffs. Our day was smooth and perfect, which was made possible due to Gretchen, Pat and Sharron. We had no worries during our day as we trusted the Sunset Bluffs team to take care of everything, to which they went above and beyond on. We received so many compliments from our guests on our venue as we were lucky enough with weather to truly utilize the entire grounds-- married outside, cocktail hour under the tent, dinner inside and then back outside to dance the night away! The best part is that the venue is SO beautiful on it's own, that we really did not need much at all in terms of decorations, giving us one less thing to worry about! Absolutely wonderful experience!

From the first time seeing the venue to each time thereafter, what stood out most was the opportunity to have a beautiful place to gather, enjoy and spend time with family and friends as we celebrated the wedding of our son and daughter in-law. A place with no need to have to move from point A to point B for this or that, etc... A place where the wedding party had a place to stay the night, safe and sound. Sunset bluffs was the perfect magical place for our wedding!!! The place itself is just gorgeous that takes your breath away! All the different packages available really can suit everyone's budget. We felt in our little bubble celebrating with our closest friends and family in this gem found in Washington, MO. The whole venue is perfectly designed for weddings, they literally thought of everything while designing this place. So many great amenities at the guest house. Their online portal was great to keep track of our contracts and budget. The caterers they work with, specially Uncle Linny's for food was great! The whole staff was always asking me and my husband if we had a drink, food or needed any help. You truly feel at a destination wedding just an hour outside of St. Louis.

Not even sure why we looked anywhere else before or after Sunset Bluffs because it was simply a waste of time. We were so satisfied with the customer service, the attention to detail, the atmosphere and overall outcome of our wedding day. Our guests have continued to tell us what a wonderful time they had celebrating “us” at this venue. If you have to do taken a peek at the hidden gem you need to!

I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! From start to finish, Fredrick and his staff made our wedding dreams come true. They are prompt, knowledgeable and beyond helpful. The service was spectacular. My guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had. The bartenders made amazing drinks and people rarely had to wait. The night started and ended perfectly, I am beyond happy with my experience. If you are looking for a wedding venue in the STL area, this is it. No need to look further. You won’t regret it!!!!

My wife and I got married here last year. She chose this location because of the scenery and I was sold after seeing the groom’s lounge with tvs and a pool table. Fredrick and his staff were responsive through email and phone calls for our many questions, they made the venue available for us on multiple occasions to visit as part of the planning process, they knew exactly what to do, when, and how to do it.

Fredrick and his staff helped us throughout the entire planning process and answered all the questions I had until the day of. Believe me as the bride, I had lots of questions! From calls, texts, and emails back and forth the fact that they were both very professional, responsive, and easy to talk to made the planning easy! Thanks for the picture perfect venue, your kindness and patience, and a day we will never forget!

As a groom, my main concern was making sure my bride was completely satisfied. Fredrick and his staff made sure that our plans were kept on task and if anything arose we were notified immediately to resolve. Planning the wedding was truly my biggest fear but the entire time we were at ease knowing things were being handled. My groomsmen loved the secluded bluffs and kayaking. Thanks a million!

We absolutely love this venue, it’s the second time a member of our family has been married here. All of our guests couldn’t believe we were still in Missouri. We also appreciated how privately tucked away Sunset Bluffs is compared to other venues around STL. Fredrick helped make our wedding day perfect in so many small, thoughtful ways! He was so easy to work with and responsive from start to finish. And the venue itself is, of course, stunning! Seeing the venue on our first visit, we knew any other venue would be hard-pressed to beat out what Sunset Bluffs could offer and none did! (Plus, we had pretty much already made our decision after seeing the guest house and amenities offered such as kayaking and fishing which the guys loved!)

As the only daughter in the family, my father wanted my “BIG DAY” as special as they come. At Sunset Bluffs we got just that and more! We exchanged our vows against a backdrop of bluffs and water on the sand surrounded by those who mattered most. We were excited the moment we stepped foot onto Sunset Bluffs! This was EXACTLY where we knew we had to get married! Sunset Bluffs was the perfect choice for our ceremony and reception. We were looking for a place that was modern and a place that incorporated the beauty of the outdoors during the fall since we had a fall themed wedding. Although some were initially surprised by cost, for what it included it was very reasonably priced! Fredrick was efficient, attentive and worked with us on getting the most for our money without going over budget. We received so many compliments on having our wedding here. I can't imagine going anywhere else! It was perfect!

Sunset Bluffs is a beautiful venue and we are so happy that we found it for our daughter's wedding. We were originally thinking of a destination wedding because she wanted a beach and we saw Sunset Bluffs in a wedding magazine. It was perfect - she was able to have her wedding on the beach, the dinner inside, and dancing outside under the tent. We had to postpone a year due to Covid and Fred, the owner, was so understanding and helpful in working with us. We rented the venue for the weekend and had the rehearsal dinner there, the wedding party all stayed at the guest house the entire weekend, and the wedding and reception. Our guests are still remarking on how beautiful Sunset Bluffs is and how much fun they had. We were extremely happy with everything.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED Sunset Bluffs. The venue is undeniably gorgeous, and it’s evident that Fredrick takes pride in the services he offers. He could be difficult to work with at times and seems to be very picky about the fine details which caused a bit of stress the day of, so that’s something to note. However, Tracey and the bartenders ensured everyone was having a blast, and they took the time to say hello and made us feel well taken care of throughout the evening. Xavier was also amazing! He was SO pleasant to work with, and he helped the day run smoothly!

This is a beautiful venue with wonderful staff that goes above and beyond for their clients.

Frederick was very unprofessional on our wedding day. We had 220 people and our bridal party was 20 people. He had the reception hall set up and my coordinator moved the head table around (the tables were in the same area just into a different shape) to accommodate the DJ next to our head table for everyone to fit. He then mentioned “I almost canceled a whole wedding because of the coordinator moving around the tables” and “if they don’t like the tables that’s fine I’ll just cancel the wedding”. Later that night the wedding party stayed the night at the house and had music playing. Frederick pulled my husband to the side and said he “didn’t appreciate the bachelor and bachelorette party going on” and that “if anything happens I’ll sue you and the bride who’s having her wedding here tomorrow will sue you.” The whole night he was snapping at my vendors and very unprofessional. It’s a shame such a beautiful place is ran this way. Do not recommend.

SO. MANY. COMPLIMENTS!! We had our wedding here on November 7th 2020 and we planned it a year in advance. I met Fredrick at a bridal convention a few years ago when he just got the place up and running and I remember thinking “I will get married there one day!”. Once my fiancé proposed, I made the appointment to meet with Fredrick to see the venue and of course fell in love and didn’t need to see any other venues. We signed the contract that day and I cannot begin to express the gratitude I have for Fredrick making it such an easy process! We rented the house and the venue for 24 hours, totally worth it! Fredrick and his team helped set up the decorations and made the whole day so easy and run smoothly. The venue is private, peaceful, beautiful no matter what season and the team is so easy to work with. His mom saw me having a slight bridal breakdown and ran to my rescue and made me feel 100 times better (thank you, Donna!). My wedding day was PERFECT!!! It was absolutely perfect in every way. Guests are still sending me messages saying how beautiful the venue was and many of them said it’s the most beautiful venue they’ve ever seen. Thank you Fredrick and your team for helping me with my dream wedding. It was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. Thank you! Thank you, Thank you!

This venue is like a fairytale; so gorgeous and serene. For us it is about an hour drive away from where we live but we would have done double that for this amazing venue. Frederick is such a genuinely amazing, hard working, down to earth person! He went out of his way to make sure that all aspects of our wedding went smoothly, even assisting our photographers to get the perfect sunset photos. How many owners do you see doing that?! He works with other vendors so well that the couple doesn't even have to do anything, he will make sure everything is set up! So many venues only allow you a limited amount of time for your big day, but this location's minimum time they give to is 12 hours; giving you a real opportunity to relax and enjoy your wedding day rather than feeling rushed. For anyone to is even remotely thinking about booking here or wondering if the price is worth it, take it from a bride who's special day went without a hitch, it is worth every penny

I cannot stress how amazing Sunset Bluffs is. The pictures do not even do it justice. The venue is beyond beautiful. Fredrick is so accommodating and helpful. He made our wedding vision come to life. From helping us run through our rehearsal, setting up the venue to make it look picture perfect, taking up to the bluffs to take pictures. Fredrick was with us and made the whole night run as smooth as possible and even loaned his own shoes to my wife while we were taking pictures on the bluffs so she wouldn’t hurt her feet. The bartenders were outstanding. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night thanks to Fredrick and his staff. I wish I could rate it more than 5 stars!

This venue is absolutely GORGEOUS and ran by the kindest, most genuine people ever. Many of these reviews given by others have absolutely no experience with them, and are simply acting out of spite. I have visited this venue several times and even got married here last year. Not only are they friendly and professional, they go above and beyond to accommodate. I’m sorry to the couples who are unable to have their wedding as planned, but this venue is doing everything they can to be sympathetic, flexible, and to stay above water & I applaud them for their professionalism in the midst of all of this blatant slander. Worth every single penny!!!!!

Where do I begin?? Absolutely stunning venue with employees that seem more like family/friends than coworkers. We have no regrets about choosing Sunset Bluffs as our ceremony/reception site. We had the place to ourselves for the entire day, a beautiful Bridal Suite for my bridesmaids and myself to get ready in (there were 9 of them and we had plenty of space). The planning meetings beforehand gave me incredible peace of mind. EVERYONE was blown away by Sunset Bluffs, even my hard to please family! I just hope we get invited to another wedding here so we can go back!

As the MOB, I can not say enough good things about Fredrick and Sunset Bluffs. Breathtaking is just the tip of the iceberg! If you want a secluded wedding where you can relax and forget about everything but your Wedding, this is the venue for you. Not only do they have an upscale hall for your reception - they have multiple ceremony locations available including a white sand beach! On top of that the Guest house is SPECTACULAR! Fred is the absolute best to work with, he is attentive & very accommodating and literally works his tail off to make sure everything is perfect. His list of preferred vendors are top notch - you can not go wrong if you choose Fred and Sunset Bluffs. We truly loved every minute of our experience, Thanks again for everything Fred.

This venue is beautiful, convenient and working with Fredrick is very easy. He helped with ideas for planning and was always there to answer questions for us in a timely manner. Sunset Bluffs = heaven on earth. The estate is a little slice of paradise tucked in Washington, MO that you and your guests will never forget. Rather than just a 4 hour event rental, couples are welcomed onto their property for a full weekend of relaxation and celebration, fishing and swimming, dancing and toasting, and making memories with those closest to you. They work hard and you can tell they have fun while doing it. They're some of the nicest people I have ever met. Bottom line: a wedding at Sunset Bluffs is not "just a wedding"...it's an incredible experience unlike anything else.

Having my wedding at Sunset Bluffs was the best decision I could have ever made. There's a reason they have so many 5 star reviews! Not only is the venue one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen, but the owner and staff there is absolutely AMAZING! They went above and beyond to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect, and it was. My wedding day was SO much more than I could have ever imagined and that is all thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunset Bluffs.

Our wedding day was picture perfect at Sunset Bluffs. The venue is top notch with gorgeous views and stunning grounds. They also have a spectacular selection of caterers to choose from and most importantly, they have the wonderful Fredrick Long! Fredrick made the entire wedding process easy, simple and fun. He did everything to make my wedding day unforgettable. Fredrick is professional, responds quickly to emails and knows every vendor, which made everything really easy. His wonderful personality definitely made the process fun and stress-free. I highly recommend Sunset Bluffs!

This past Sunday, our daughter and now son-n-law exchanged vows at Sunset Bluffs. As the MOB all I can say is Amazing. This venue is top notch and has one of the most beautiful landscapes I’ve seen. The natural rock and water that surrounds this property is breathtaking. Fredrick and his staff where extremely helpful and onsite from the beginning to the end. The house with the large bridal suite, media room and large living room/kitchen were an added bonus. I would highly recommend Sunset Bluffs, Fredrick, Emily and all staff to anyone looking for a beautiful secluded treasure, just outside of St Louis.

We attended a beautiful wedding at Sunset Bluffs. This stunning venue has a beautiful lake, beach and bluff backdrop for the wedding. There's a large tent and beautiful modern reception building for the reception activities. The venue even has a large modern mansion for the bridal party to prepare for the wedding. The wedding and reception went flawlessly with the assistance of the owner and staff of Sunset Bluffs. I would definitely recommend Sunset Bluffs for your wedding.

We had our wedding over Labor day weekend and it was a blast. Fred has a lot of character and you can tell his passion for making sure that everyone has an excellent experience. Very responsive staff and a beautiful spacious venue space. For larger parties: 300 person max is accurate, but with 275 guests we were a little tight during dinner, which was fine since we were mainly focused on dancing and the space to mingle before and after dinner. Plenty of space to fill out afterwards, but if a tight crowd is a problem I would suggest thinning out the numbers for this venue. It really is a refreshing space to behold. Overnight stay option?! Yes it was totally worth getting to enjoy that space all night. We sang and danced by the firestack outside and enjoyed the beautiful bluff side and open sky. The area is so calming at night with the waterfall going and fountain in the lake. I only wish that their separate home was completed by our wedding date to have more family/friends stay on location with us. I'd give them more stars if I could! Thanks Sunset Bluffs team.

The venue is beautiful, guest house is perfect if you have family you want to spend time with through out the weekend. But the owner is more than unpleasant to work with. Calling me a week before my wedding to tell my the caterer I picked was going to be banned after my wedding because they didnt move another brides cake. Even though they weren't banned. BTW William's Brother, AMAZING FOOD. Stopped my sister in the parking lot to give her a hard time for speeding into the venue when it wasnt even her in the car. He appeared agitated and on edge to all of my guests to the point that they started whispering about him and my father in law heard it. when approached by my sister to inform him our guests were noticing his attitude, he continued to be very brash with my sister talking about her kids playing by the rocks and how he "saved them" from rocks falling on them. If its that's dangerous the rocks by the bluffs need roped off. Literally nothing to do with the fact he is acting rude. Our bar started at 5:20pm which he says he told my father. which means our bar ended at 10:20pm. I'm not saying he didnt tell my father but it is not my fathers job to relay the bar ending time to the guests who are the ones drinking. Our DJ was informed by bar and/or venue staff that he was not allowed to give a last call. His assistant came to me to tell me there was 8 minutes left on the bar and no last call was allowed. I told my guests and that's when the owner told me the bar had already closed 10 minutes prior to his assistant telling me we still had about 10 minutes left. without any additional warning other than he told my dad at some point in the night. It should not be the father of the brides duty to notify guests when the bar is closing. When a member introduced themselves to him he rudely walked off stating "I have to find these remotes, all these kids". So in short, I would not recommend to anyone I actually care about. And any bride who does have their wedding here, work strictly with his assistant and hope to God he doesnt show up. I saw reviews that took words out of my mouth back in October of 2017 and here I am. So I'm assuming itll never get through to him. Also note that a lot of the bad reviews I've seen on here before have since been deleted.

Sunset Bluffs is an amazing venue. The owner was very accommodating, professional, and easy to work with. My husband and I were wanting a simple beach wedding close to home and this was so much more than that! The venue had gorgeous views and bluff that were picturesque. My guest were blown away by this gem located a little more than an hour from Southern IL (St. Louis area). I would not change a thing about my experience at Sunset Bluffs. Schedule a walk-through to see for yourselves!

Our wedding was on Saturday, August 18, 2018 and it was one of the best days of life! Of course everyone envisions their wedding day to be perfect, but mine honestly was. Sunset Bluffs is absolutely AMAZING along with it's amazing owners/staff. Fredrick Long is simply great. He makes everything work. Although he may not agree with how you want things, he still helps and makes sure everything turn out absolutely perfect. Danielle, his girlfriend & amazing sidekick, helped out a ton as well. She actually does photography also and her pictures look AMAZING. If you are looking for a wedding venue that you are able to stay the whole weekend with your wedding party and/or family, this is the perfect destination. It is such an amazing location. It feels like you are far far away on a lake/beach somewhere. It is super peaceful and just so pretty. If you want to get married on the beach in the white sand you can, if you want to get married underneath a waterfall you can, if you want to get married in front of a lake with a fountain you can, if you want to get married in front of an elegant stone fireplace you can, and if it rains there is a tent/reception hall that you can get married in as well! You can literally choose wherever you'd like and Fredrick and Danielle will make it happen. A little side story of how they both go above and beyond... My sister (my maid of honor) made a video for me and my husband to play at our wedding reception. Fredrick made sure to have the projector and screen installed and set up for us to be able to use. Horribly, my dads' girlfriend accidentally sat down in her sit and ripped the adaptor from the projector.... ending up breaking it. What did Fredrick and Danielle do? WENT AND BOUGHT A NEW CORD in enough time to be back to set it up and save the video my sister worked so hard on for months.... These are the moments that you look back on and are so beyond thankful for choosing not only the prettiest venue around the area, but also choosing the greatest staff to work with. You do not want your wedding day even more stressful than it already is and I can gladly say that I was not stressed whatsoever. I have worked with Fred in the past with a couple other weddings at Sunset Bluffs, and I knew he would make sure everything was perfect before I walked down the isle or walked into the reception. He always go above and beyond for his bride and groom. The weekend package was probably my favorite part just because both our friend groups were able to get to know each other and hangout Friday night before the big day. Then we were able to dance the night away and just walk 10 steps into the house and fall asleep! It was amazing to not have to worry about cleaning up or having to rush because our "time was up & the night was over." If you are looking for a romantic get-away "destination" wedding, Sunset Bluffs is the place to have it. I PROMISE. Thank you again so much to Fredrick and Danielle for everything you did for us! You both are amazing. :)

It is hard to find the right words to express what an amazing experience it was to have our wedding at Sunset Bluffs! Fredrick was incredible to work with. He made the entire experience seamless. The venue is absolutely stunning and every one of our guests were blown away by the views. Every aspect of our day was perfect. You will not be disappointed when you choose Sunset Bluffs!!

Where do I begin? I cannot tell you how much we are in love with Sunset Bluffs. We were completely over our heads wedding planning, and we planned in just a few months with over 100 guests. In fact, we actually switched venues to Sunset Bluffs and it was the best decision we ever made. From there, everything was taken care of. Fredrick provided a “white glove” boutique type service for us. That’s more like a wedding planner people pay so much extra for. A few comments from our guests: “this is the nicest venue I’ve ever been to; I feel like we’re at a destination wedding”. Another guest said “ we just got married at the Wynn…had we known this was here, this would have been our spot.” “How have we never heard of this place, this is totally stunning”. There is no place like this in St. Louis, St. Charles, wine country…there just isn’t. Trust me, we looked at all of them! We had our ceremony on “the beach” in the fall with a five string quartet, dinner and drinks to follow after a cocktail hour in the newly airy structure for our reception. To call it a “reception hall” does no justice. It’s open, airy, right on the water. We even had a set of bags outside and our guests LOVED it. That’s the neat thing about Sunset Bluffs that nowhere else has. You can have a “laid back” event that is classy, and timeless. I would say 75% of our guests kept saying the same thing, just blown away by their surroundings. I would also recommend Danielle Ambry Photography for your needs - outdoor lighting can be really tricky and her work is second to none!

My fiancé and I booked this venue for our wedding in 2019 and are only a couple of days into the planning process and cannot say enough wonderful things about Fred. He has worked with us via numerous phone calls from several states away AND through the Christmas holiday to help us work out some unexpected kinks. He has so much knowledge of the surrounding area, vendors and we wouldn't have been able to do this without him! Highly recommend!

This is by far the best wedding venue in the area! The setting was quiet and secluded which made for an intimate event. There was also plenty of space for all of the guests. Definitely the best wedding I have ever attended!

Sunset Bluffs and their staff were absolutely stellar throughout our planning process. They were attentive to each of our needs and details. Day of our wedding they were just phenomenal. In the midst of it there was something we had missed in bringing that day and they sprang to action to get it corrected for us. Highly recommended from us. Lastly, the venue speaks for itself. Stunningly beautiful and our guests couldn’t stop raving about it. Two months later and we still hear about how breathtaking it was. Take the time to see for yourself and you won’t be disappointed!

Sunset Bluffs was the perfect venue for our wedding. Most venues focus primarily on the bride's experience but Sunset Bluffs catered to myself and my groomsmen as well. In addition to an awesome bridal suite, they have a separate portion of the house just for the groomsmen to hang out. We played pool in the pool table room, got ready in the grooms room, and killed some time watching our football game in the movie theatre room in massage chairs. It was awesome! The day didn't feel rushed or chaotic, but instead of relaxing and enjoyable. Fredrick went above and beyond both Friday night for our rehearsal dinner and Saturday the day of the wedding. He is professional and friendly and made the whole experience simply perfect. Best venue and venue owner in St. Louis!

Sunset Bluffs was the absolute BEST place to have our wedding. There was no need for many decorations because the place is so beautiful on its own. The gorgeous white sand beach, the stone fireplace, and brand new waterfall was unlike any venue we've seen before. Fredrick is AMAZING and helps make everything run smoothly! The entire location is beautifully crafted and a gorgeous all-in-one location for your ceremony and reception. I cannot tell you the countless compliments we received on having our wedding at such a beautiful location. Honestly the best place ever. No other venue can compare!

Choosing Sunset Bluffs as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made regarding our day, hands down! My (now) husband and I fell in love with the property instantly on our first visit, and we booked that same day. Fredrick was so kind and professional in showing us around and telling us about the place. Fredrick was SO helpful, thorough, and reassuring in our interactions. Him, and all of the Sunset Bluffs staff, truly know their stuff! The gorgeous bridal suite is the perfect space to get ready in, and there are countless photo-op locations both indoors and outdoors. This venue has so much to offer, and is the perfect setting for any kind of ceremony and reception-- all in one! There's a reason that this venue is so sought-after! We had the pleasure of having our wedding at Sunset Bluffs on October 13. We booked Sunset Bluffs a full year and 3 months before our wedding date. We booked the venue for the entire weekend and that was the best decision we made. It allowed us to not feel overwhelmed and have a very relaxing wedding day. The weather was rainy and quite chilly on Friday but we were able to have a small (20 person) rehearsal dinner inside the house and it couldn't have been more perfect - the house is spacious enough that multiple conversations can happen at the same time a game of pool is being played! On Saturday the temperature never got above 50 degrees but Fredrick and his team worked vigorously to warm up the tent so the sides were able to attached and we could have the cozy reception we had been dreaming about!! Our ceremony couldn't have been more uniquely Fall - the skies were overcast, the leaves were turning to their bold fall colors, the waterfall was cascading over the bluffs and we said our "I do's" in front of a roaring fire in the outdoor fireplace. Fredrick and his team really have created the most unique, wonderfully diverse venue in the heart of Missouri!

I have nothing but good things to say about Sunset Bluffs and it’s owner Frederick! Our wedding was at the beginning of August this year and everything turned out absolutely amazing. Frederick was great at working with us and our vendors (we were able to bring in anyone we wanted) and made the entire process very easy. Being able to stay there with our bridal party made the entire weekend so special and our guests have not stopped raving about how gorgeous and unique the venue was! We can't thank Frederick and his team enough for making the weekend truly a one of a kind experience.

We would like to thank Sunset Bluffs for allowing us to have a wedding that exceeded all of our expectations. Fredrick and his team were easy to work with and their attention to details shines throughout the venue. We had the ceremony on the grass right in front of the waterfall. Just had my wedding at Sunset Bluffs this past weekend and wanted to add my voice to the others in praise. The natural beauty of the venue and the responsiveness of Fredrick and his team are already well-documented, so I thought I’d add my additional thoughts about why this is an ideal venue. Fredrick truly goes above and beyond in every way; I felt he was as invested in our success as we were! And the result was well worth it. First of all, we had the venue all weekend, Fri-Sun, which allowed us for leisurely set up and take down times. Since our reception had a heavy DIY aspect (we grew all of our own flowers(!)), it was crucial to have those time windows. Plus, setting up with family and friends was fun! Between the house, hall, tent and outdoor areas, there is just so much SPACE. We were able to spread out and craft to our heart’s content. And without the rush to get in and get out. For location: this is such an ideal quasi-destination. Slightly less than an hour from downtown STL, slightly less than an hour from the airport, and Lyft/Uber abound. The location -appears- remote but be fooled not: there is a JoAnn Fabric SIX minutes away for your last minute crafting needs (and my dress ended up needing a hook and eye, so that was lifesaver!) Not to mention Marshall’s, Ulta Beauty, and a gaggle of other retail stores and restaurants. The house itself: Ample room for your wedding party/friends/family. I would point out that the upstairs rooms are quieter/more private that downstairs. It can be loud for downstairs guests if people are up late partying in the kitchen. But the master/bridal suite: GORGEOUS. We had the makeup chair set up close to the balcony, so I could actually see the chairs being set up for the ceremony while I was getting makeup done. Does it GET any better than that? Having that upstairs retreat was AMAZING as I could slip away whenever I wanted but still see the action from the balcony. (Be careful on the steps if you have a long, full dress, as I did.) And the lighting was amazing for photos. I would add that the entire property is so ideal for photography – even in any weather. We were blessed with a temperate day and a stunning sunset, but even grey and overcast days look amazing in photos. The venue is truly a showstopper in any weather. Overall, having the house and lake to relax with friends and family in the hours before the wedding was truly exquisite. I feel there are so few venues that offer such an opportunity – plus the ability to truly customize with your choice of vendors/caterers. If you choose this location, book your hotel block EARLY as Washington, MO is very popular during the wedding and wine season. But if you must book in Union as many of my guests did, it is just a short Uber ride away. And there are many unique AirBnBs and bed and breakfasts to choose from. If you want a wedding to remember ... choose this place. I do recommend a day-of coordinator. That's not venue-specific .. that's just my p
