First off, Surdyk's went above and beyond to help us make our tasting mid-pandemic feel so special with a custom menu with our names and our tasting date on top. The team was incredibly helpful (huge shoutout to Eric!) and professional while locking in tasting dates and helping us finalize our menu. The team was thoughtful and supportive while reviewing menu options, crowd pleasers, how much to order based on guest count, and what style meal options based on the day we envisioned. We ended up doing a buffet with Surdyk's for our wedding day; the food was hot, fresh, and guests loved it! There was also a crab shortage this summer so the crab cakes we had planned on for passed appetizers were no longer available. The team contacted us and talked through other options, while the chefs created a similar option and new fan favorite: walleye cakes!😍 So perfect for a wedding in Minnesota - we had so many people raving about these! We would absolutely recommend Surdyk's to anyone looking for a wedding or special event caterer!!

We cannot say enough good things about working with Surdyk's for our wedding - Emily in particular. She stuck with us as we navigated trying to get married during COVID. We had 4 different wedding dates and a change of plans from a 200+ person wedding to an intimate dinner party of 14. Emily came up with creative solutions to help with our constantly changing plans and was always responsive, professional, and most importantly supportive. It really felt like she was part of the journey with us. Our end result was delicious food that was enjoyed by all. We cannot thank you enough for all you did in helping deliver our special day.

HIRE SURDYK'S! I'm not kidding - Surdyk's was BY FAR the best vendor we worked with while planning our wedding on May 29th, 2021. My husband and I had so many ideas about what we wanted our food to be like at our wedding & all of those expectations were blown out of the water with Surdyk's. They were fantastic to work with, especially during the pandemic, and kept me updated on the rules & regulations as we got closer to our date. Emily & Hannah helped create a custom nacho bar for cocktail hour, which was the talk of the evening & everything I had dreamed of! We also had 3 passed appetizers (Minneapple Panini, Fried Chicken Skewers with Hot Honey, & Beef Tenderloin on a baguette with aioli, tomato jam, & arugula) and all of those were delicious! They even put aside a small plate of them all for my husband and I to enjoy since it was tough to mingle & eat at the same time! And when the nacho bar was running out of queso, they let me know so my husband & I could be sure to get ourselves some nachos before it was gone. We offered 3 entrees (chicken with truffle butter, braised beef short ribs, and the pan seared halibut) and they were all 10/10! Fish at a wedding can sometimes be sketchy but it was INCREDIBLE. We had so many comments on how amazing our wedding food was and we agreed! I wish I could eat it all a thousand times over...The service was flawless all evening & tables each got food in a timely manner. Surdyk's also cut the cake & served it to our guests, along with a coffee bar setup during dessert. Finally, we requested a late night snack of egg rolls & cream cheese wontons! They served them in cute little take out boxes and they were a huge hit (I mean, drunk people + fried food = happiness). Overall, Surdyk's outdid themselves & made our wedding day even more memorable! Highly, highly recommend them! THANK YOU! :)

Surdyks did an amazing job catering our wedding! Their food selection was outstanding, and when we went to our tasting we were pleasantly surprised at every single thing they served us was delicious. We honestly thought the food was on par with a 4-5 start restaurant. We had to reschedule our wedding date due to COVID-19, and Surdyks was incredibly accommodating, including shifting from a buffet to a plated meal while still staying within our budget. We received multiple compliments from guests about how good the food was, which we thought was rare for a wedding. Overall, we had an outstanding experience with Surdyks and we would highly recommend them as a caterer for weddings and other events!

Surdyks did an incredible job of catering our wedding. First off, the food is delicious. They allowed us to try some options before, and they loved up to expectations the night of. People are still talking about the mushroom gnocchi. Natalie and her team were also incredible, super responsive on emails, really receptive to ideas and changes we needed, asked all the questions that we didn’t think of. I would highly recommend Surdyks for any event. Awesome team.

I am really late in writing this, but Surdyk’s Catering did a wonderful job for our rehearsal dinner. I had so much fun picking out each menu item and putting together a meal that honestly rivaled our actual wedding meal. They were great to work with.

Surdyk's catered our wedding on 9/1/2019, and they really made the night extra special. Food, service, presentation, and customer service were all top notch. They were very responsive and friendly throughout the planning process. I never felt like I was bugging them by asking questions, making changes, or requesting additional information. This was all the more impressive because they were undergoing a staff transition during planning, but nothing fell through the cracks. The appetizer boards we chose were delicious and became their own gorgeous kind of decor. Dinner service went smoothly and the catering manager on site made sure to check in with us with an update about bumping up our timeline slightly. The food was hot, tasty, and beautifully presented. The flow of service was smooth, and no one left hungry. Our guests were commenting all night about how good the food was. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard to make our day so wonderful!

Surdyk's catered my wedding in June 2019, and it was everything I could've dreamed of and more. My husband and I wanted to throw a proper cocktail party with freeflowing Champagne and big displays of hors d'oeuvres. Surdyk's was the perfect choice for this. We worked with their planners to create a custom 14-foot display with cheeses, charcuterie sliced to order on their beautiful red slicer, and a raw bar with crab claws, giant shrimp, and three kinds of oysters shucked by their staff. Surdyk's coordinated a custom ice bar based on our sketches with Minnesota Ice for the raw bar and even got us custom ice cubes with our initials. The bar service was incredible because they charge retail pricing, meaning we were able to afford to provide our guests with top-shelf Bourbons, REAL Champagne, Sancerre, and other high-end wines for the same price as the basic products offer by the other caterers we looked at. Our guests were bowled over by the selection. If you value excellent food, wine, and polished, generous service, I can't recommend Surdyk's Catering enough for your big day!

We employed Surdyk's to cater our grooms dinner. The event was pretty casual, but we still wanted it to be special. The catering manager made ordering really easy - we had no idea what we were doing and she was patient and helped us get the most value for our money. The food was amazing, and the delivery was really easy. The food really contributed to a great party. Highly recommend Surdyk's for any wedding related events!

The Surdyk's team went above and beyond for our wedding this past September. They created a totally customized experience for our guests, who all left the night in the clean plate club. We used Surdyk’s as our bartender. All our guests were very pleased. During the quote and booking process, Surdyk’s was super responsive to all of our needs and helped us decide on the bar set up that was perfect for us. Coming up to the wedding Surdyk’s was very in helpful working with our planner and venue. We live outside of MN so it was great to be able to be hands off close to the event and have professionals make sure everything ran smoothly. From start to finish we had a great experience.

We LOVED working with Surdyk's! They are so kind and quick to respond to our questions and proposal edits. Their food was fantastic and the service on the day of was amazing. We will most definitely refer them to our clients and have already put them on our preferred vendor list. You will not regret booking them for your event- they are fantastic!

Surdyk's catered our cocktail hour wedding reception, and we were thrilled with the results. Our guests raved about the appetizer trays, especially the cheese and salmon platters. The staff was communicative, organized, and thorough throughout the planning process.

Surdyk's catering was such a great choice for our cocktail wedding reception! We hosted approximately 75 people at the Moxy Hotel in Uptown this past March. Natalie helped me plan everything from start to finish and the entire process was so easy and truly great. We had an un-traditional cocktail reception with heavy appetizers. Natalie helped me choose the perfect amount of food for the guests and all of it tasted delicious. We ordered an assortment of options including vegetarian and gluten free. The staff set up everything so nicely and had labels to clearly mark the items being served. If I ever throw a catered event again I will definitely use Surdyk's.

From beginning to end NOT one frustration relating to Surdyk's -- Thanks to Samantha (Sam, Event Coordinator), Donna (Event Manager) and pleasant and professional staff. Service and presentation were GREAT; food was DELICIOUS! Many compliments from guests.

We used Surdyks for our wedding catering last November (2018) at The Hutton House. I cannot say enough about how wonderful they were to work with. Not only was Natalie extremely responsive (always) but their team also demonstrated their creativity and love for food with the custom program they put together for us. It only took one call describing our ideas and wishes for them to put together the perfect evening. We opted for their charctuerie and cheese table during cocktail hour, which was THE BEST. I dream about the little pickled peppers they included daily. For dinner, we did a buffet and offered mixed greens, grilled broccolini, fried chicken with biscuits and gravy, paella and short rib, mac n' cheese, and Gruyere scalloped potatoes. It as all perfection. I had more than one guest insist it was the best wedding meal they had ever had. Their customer service throughout the process and quality of service on the day-of was next-to-none. It's also worth noting, after quoting several caterers, that Surdyks was a tremendous value.

My daughter and her fiance were living in San Francisco while they planned their September wedding and reception to be held here in Minneapolis. The planning went smoothly and the team at Surdyk's were quick to answer our questions and respond to emails. The happy couple decided on heavy apps ( some passed and some stationary) along with the beautiful Antipasti Table. The finale while guests danced well into the evening were grilled cheese panini with tomato soup shooters - everyone loved them. Special thanks to Surdyk's event manager Donna who was incredible to work with!

Surdyk’s was incredible to work with! I work in the wedding industry so naturally was going to be particular about our vendors. And from the beginning to end, our experience was fantastic. Starting with my initial call from Natalie (our sales rep), we felt like we were working with family. Natalie was beyond incredible to work with and we never felt like we were just another client. Our tasting was simple and easy and not overwhelming - which, let me tell you, menu tastings can be! Every item we chose tasted the same on our wedding day as it did at our tasting. My husband and my mother are huge foodies and have not said enough about how incredible our food was. We are so thankful for Natalie and the entire staff at Surdyk’s. Our wedding service was impeccable and our overall experience was over and beyond expectations. We cannot thank you all enough and look forward to more occasions with Surdyk’s!

Thank you so much, the catering was excellent, and we really appreciate all the work you did. I know we were a little scattered on our end, but everything pulled together nicely. The food was excellent (I heard that from multiple people), and all the wait staff did a great job.

Where do I even begin?! From the first day I met with Surdyk's up until our wedding day, the team made the entire planning process very seamless and fun! Not only does Surdyk's have excellent food, but they also have amazing customer service. My husband and I loved working with this group and definitely enjoyed the food the day of! We had a family style serving process which worked very well, along with a bite-size dessert table, and a late night snack of mac and cheese - our guests are still complimenting the delicious food (even two weeks after our wedding!) If you are looking for fantastic meal and dessert options and wonderful people to work with, then Surdyk's is the way to go!

We absolutely loved working with Surdyks for our wedding. From the initial planning through the actual event, they were wonderful. Natalie (the sales manager) was happy to customize dishes upon request and was so quick with any follow up questions about food or pricing. Our event coordinator (Teresa) was equally wonderful. We had a 250 person wedding and my big concern was getting everyone served quickly (to keep the night moving) and they were so helpful in doing this. Every member of the service staff was smiling and friendly. and most importantly, the food was AMAZING. People were raving about the food (even in our wedding cards :)). Couldn't recommend them more!

We loved Surdyk's!!! We were planning a Minneapolis wedding from Los Angeles, but they were able to work seamlessly with us. We worked with Sam and she was fantastic. Our wedding guest total kept changing, we kept switching the floorplan and table set ups, and didn't tell them until the last minute if they were serving our dessert or not, but despite the many changes and questions they were always responsive and helpful and had a great energy. Multiple people came up to me at the wedding to RAVE about the food, and our day-of manager, Donna, was incredibly hard-working and organized! AND the beauty part was that Surdyk's came in at 2/3 the cost of some of the other vendors we got quotes from. Delicious, great to work with, and reasonably priced! Surdyk's is the trifecta!!! Everything was fantastic! I was the envy of all the other companies that had brought food to the Expo. You guys outdid yourself and everyone asked me where I got the platters! You’ll definitely get some addt'l business! Thanks so much!

We had a wonderful experience working with Surdyk's for our wedding this past February! They were super easy to work with - planning the menu and all the details. They incorporated some custom things for us, like Irish coffees with dessert :D And then... the day of our wedding it snowed 8 INCHES! Surdyk's staff handled this major hurdle flawlessly.. they even had to hand-carry all the food to the venue from far away because the truck couldn't make it all the way up to the door in the snow. Everything was served on time - and STILL WARM! So great to work with. Very classy and delicious food. Especially recommend if you prioritize good food and drinks!

Surdyk's did the bartending for our wedding in St. Paul and we're so glad we went with them. The final choice was down to Surdyk's and Mintahoe and while Surdyk's was a little pricier, their selection was substantially better. We went with the standard beer/ wine package and the options were extremely solid and we appreciated that they served local craft beers. Day of, everything went super smoothly and the bartenders were great - they made sure our glasses were never empty. Would book again in a heartbeat!

I had the opportunity to work with Surdyk's Catering in a Preppy & Plaid themed bridal shower/styled shoot last week and everything turned out to be perfect! I shared our Pinterest board with Lily for inspiration and the day of the shoot, let's just say the Surdyk's team NAILED IT! They provided a couple different spreads of cheese, fruit and other delicious items that fit our theme perfectly. Lily even stuck around during the shoot to help out and ensure things were running smoothly which we really appreciate. Loved the food!! My wedding was on a farm a few miles away, and Surdyk's was able to deliver right on time. I chose to do finger sandwiches, cheese, fruit, and veggie plates. I wanted something simple, but elegant. Teresa was awesome and helped me pick out the right amount. The food was amazing, especially the roasted veggies and curry hummus. The only thing missing were little cards telling my guests what they were eating. But no one seemed to mind since everyone was loving the food. My personal favorite were the tiny Brie sandwiches! We were so impressed with the fresh taste & quality of food provided by Surdyk's catering. As a photographer, during the wedding day we usually have to eat on the run & Surdyk's provided a nice variety of healthy & substantial food for us & the bridal party. Truly the BEST wedding day lunch we've ever had!

We had Surdyk's cater lunch the day of our wedding. By mid-day everyone was dying for some good food. Surdyk’s knocked it out of the park with sandwiches, salads, fruit, and beverages! This wasn’t the typical fast food sandwiches everyone orders. We had high quality meat, veggie, and buffalo shrimp sandwiches! I literally had to push one of the groomsmen out of the way to get the last buffalo shrimp sandwich. The Surdyk’s team delivered to our church and had everything ready to go right on time. They even made sure there were options for members of our bridal party that are Gluten Free. I have zero hesitation recommending them for your wedding day. Don’t cut corners on food the day of your wedding; it’s the one thing your guest (especially your bridal party) will remember. The food and customer service are well deserving of the 5 star rating!

We were so happy with everything Surdyk’s Catering provided for our son and his bride's wedding reception! The food was beautifully displayed and so delicious. We had many compliments on how yummy everything tasted. The crew of servers were exceptional and took care of us and our guests with absolute professionalism from start to finish. If we have occasion to need a catered event again, I’d call Surdyk's and we recommend their catering in a heartbeat!

Surdyks Catering and our event coordinator, Emily, were amazing to work with. They happily allowed me to customize my menu and presentation of the food without any hesitation (which I found hard to find with other local companies since I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted already), from using take out boxes for our entrees to substituting cake for watermelon. I was also happy that they had the option for compostable plates and silverware for our rather non-conventional hors d'oeuvre style wedding. Emily was responsive throughout the entire planning process and the team seemed level headed and organized during the event. At the end of the night I hadn't realized I left some decor at the venue but Surdyks grabbed them for me to pick up later, without me asking! They're professional, experienced in food and presentation/design, supportive of you and your ideas, and are just fun to work with. You will want these guys and gals on your team on your big day.
