Waterfront venue for your fairytale wedding
Residing along the Pacific Ocean coast, Surftides Lincoln City is a hotel and wedding venue in Portland, OR. Originally apartments built in the 1930s, the building is full of history and character from those who passed through on vacations to the seaside. Family-owned and operated by the Cho family since 1979, building and nurturing relationships is what they do best.
The prime location and salty air made Surftides grow more in popularity as the years passed. Changes in management and generations of the Cho family complimented the property as it added more character to the ocean-side venue. While keeping the essence of past generations alive, they added modern amenities and features to provide a space where people can reconnect with their families and friends.
With over 150 guest rooms and 3 event spaces, you have the freedom to choose the backdrop to your magical day. Their biggest area, The Melville Banquet Hall, has a capacity of 165 guests and offers privacy with its entrance and restrooms. For more intimate gatherings, Hemingway is suitable for up to 50 people. The Outdoor Courtyard completes the coastal wedding dream with beach access, picnic tables, fire pits, and outdoor speakers. Catering is taken care of by their restaurant MIST so that you can relax surrounded by the sea breeze and love.

Our family have been coming to Surftides at least once a year since 2020. Our experience has always been wonderful. We enjoy the fire pits where we can roast marshmallows with the kids. The beach access is easy to manage and allows for us to sp...
end an evening with a fire on the beach. This year we were put in a newly remodeled room. We stayed in a premium double queen with a fireplace and ocean front view. Our room had been newly remodeled. The bathroom remodel is amazing! Double shower heads, granite counter tops. We loved Surftides before but with the remodeled rooms-this hotel is better than ever!

Nice hotel with a beautiful ocean view. It was a clean but smelled likea type of smoke, it could have been from a fire on the beach but not sure. Top floor is best! No breakfast or anything though which is a bummer for the price that you pay....
And the pool and hot tub require you to walk through the parking lot and in the rain potentially. But they were nice.
PS don't use 0 to get to front desk like the pamphlet says, it doesn't seem to work. Hit the front desk button on the phone.

We had two different rooms reserved. One was a king suite with fireplace and then a jetted tub.
We were able to check in at 2pm instead of 4pm which was a little nicer. We ended up leaving at a little before 9am because we were so uncomfortabl...
e in our bed.
The king room was clean for the most part. The sliding door was so dirty and the window panes are coming apart which shows the separation also. It made the view so difficult to see. The patio was covered in bird poo and the chairs which made using the private balcony impossible. We had to call the office for help as the lamps weren’t working it was a simple light bulb but still something they should check. One other thing we didn’t love was everything was so low to the ground.
The jetted tub room was clean, however the shower slider is so broken and wore out, the tub is broken in so many places that made us worry about hazards. We were wondering why they don’t provide photos of the tub and I will include some to hopefully help others as I also consider reviews when making choices. Of course we consider reviews will be different for everyone. We had the same issue with poo all over the patio and chairs also. The thermostat was broken in our room that we had it set at 90 all night and it never shut off. The timer on the fireplace was also broken. The bed was terrible also it was like sleeping on a board.
The swimming pool was warm, however it needs upgraded badly. The chairs in the pool area are disgusting, they need cleaned bad. There is also a very strong chemical odor.
We will probably not be back as we spent a lot of money for rooms. Hopefully they can work on upgrades and making it a little more comfortable.

Great location and beautiful view of the beach.
Everything else is a bust. Rooms need a major update, slapping some paint on the walls doesn’t count. Shower had a hard time draining. There is no A/C and the room gets extremely warm and stuffy w...
ith the doors closed. The “fireplace” is just for looks and bring your own hair dyer unless you want to spend the entire day drying your hair. While you are at it bring your own bedding. Blood on comforter and random stains on almost everything.
Front desk staff need some customer service training. Called multiple times to request towels and sheets. No one ever brought them after calling three times. Finally complained to the front desk and the gentlemen stated there are no reports of us calling earlier in the day since they log everything. What a joke. Also they “don’t go into the rooms” so garbage, dirty towels etc don’t get picked up. Plan to have sand on everything also since they don’t clean or provide a broom. Overall would not stay here again. Not worth the price per night due to the cleanness and poor customer service.

We found 3 bed bugs as we were getting ready for bed- two small ones on one bed, and one large bug on the other bed. The front desk staff did not apologize or seem surprised. It’s a nice view of the ocean but not worth the stress that this caus...
