to the flowers and music! But Susan Kane's service was a spectacular failure! She arrived very late and not at all prepared! My guests were due to arrive at 1 pm. The bar wasn't ready and NO food showed up until about 1 :30 pm. The fancy passed hors d'oeuvres didn't show until about 1:45. There were maybe 8 on a plate and most of my guests were only offered 1 or 2. I didn't even get any of the wagyu beef sliders although I kept asking the wait staff to bring me one! I had contracted for 50 guests and ended up with several last minute cancellations so there was NO excuse for running out of anything! The made to order crepes were cooked in the kitchen then brought downstairs where they quickly became a soggy cold mess. Served to my dismay with sauces still in their plastic bottles and canned Redi Whip! I tried not to let my disappointment color what was an incredible day! But I am still angry about the quality or lack of with the food!

had an appetizer wedding which included a lot of high-end appetizers. We had some issues with the rentals that I got from Taylor Rental but Susan and her staff made it work and the food was absolutely amazing. Their staff hustled all day and everyone enjoyed their scrumptious and delectable food!! If you think you can't have an elegant wedding outside, think again. We had everything from tuna, lobster rolls crab cakes pulled chicken, beef sliders, Etc. The charcuterie station was to die for!! You cannot believe the amount of food that we had and the quality. Everyone was over the moon. Thank you Miss Susan!!!

We had a scheduled phone call to discuss what my fiancé and I would like to have on our menu, and she was extremely flustered. You can tell in her voice her mind was elsewhere and rambling on about things that were not even relevant on what we were talking about. Kind of felt like she had to gloat about all of the catering she did over the weekend, instead of talking about what WE would like on our special day as future husband and wife. She then promised us a first draft of our menu two days after we spoke on the phone.... Guess what, over six weeks have passed and no rough draft, no communication whatsoever. Even tried getting in touch with her asking where the menu was, and no response. Luckily my wedding is two years away, so I am in no rush... but if you need a caterer ASAP that is reliable, and trustworthy, DO NOT USE SUSAN KANE.

Susan was open to changing her approach in order to suit the needs and style of our wedding, while also balancing her desire to make sure that the event was held to a high standard. I valued her feedback and input greatly because there were several decisions she helped us make that made the flow of the reception go smoothly. Also, when I met her staff on the day of the wedding I was so impressed at their professionalism, kindness, and warmth. They worked really hard to set up all the tables and centerpieces the way I envisioned, and they really impressed (and surprised) me with how beautifully they decorated the sweetheart table - especially since my friend had brought a lovely sign for decoration! They each made me feel that they wanted the best for us and our guests and it made our experience with Susan Kane Catering very memorable! We were also very impressed with the quality of the food - Susan worked with us to make sure that we had delicious options for everyone. When we asked for a vegetarian option, she created an incredibly tasty (and popular) pasta dish! It was actually my favorite thing on the menu, as well as the rolls with butter. My husband's favorite dish was the NY style skirt steak! And the guests, both Korean and American, loved all the different dishes, which was something I had been worried about. So if you are looking for a wonderful caterer who will work with you to make your experience memorable, then look no further - I highly recommend you hire Susan Kane Catering!

people in about three months and found that Susan didn't turn her attention to our event until the Monday prior. She was incredibly difficult to track down before then (not responding to emails, saying she'd do something and not follow through). And then that last week she was contacting us multiple times each day about things we had finalized or been trying to finalize for weeks. A few times she had said she would do something and didn't, and then blamed it on someone else (e.g., her team was supposed to leave things we had purchased at the venue but packed them up with the rentals, she blamed it on the venue staff who weren't even on site at the time rather than asking her team). If you have a lot of time to plan so you don't need to her to get back to you quickly during the wedding season or are really looking for someone to hold your hand through the process and tell you how it's done, Susan could be a great fit. Her food really is incredible, her staff was outstanding and delivered really high quality service, and our guests were delighted and fully satisfied. I also have professional experience in events so was admittedly a higher-need client and knew how I wanted some things done which likely added to our mutual frustration.

Susan was so helpful in getting our menu together and accommodating all our needs and some special requests from guests. Her staff was very attentive. We recommend her highly.

If you are looking for a catering service that can look beyond the box of a traditional reception, prepare amazing food and leave the venue cleaner than before they arrived, then I highly recommend Susan Kane Caterers when planning your next event!

ich was wonderful! The only reason I am not giving it a full 5 stars is because Susan has an assistant who works with her who is wonderful but I think during the time of our wedding she was also assisting two other weddings and was very over-worked. There were a couple of hiccups-but none that really bothered me or ruined my night. But I was a little bummed but didn't let it take away the night as I said. I highly recommend Susan. You cannot go wrong!

ng the captain to fend for themselves which created complete chaos at our wedding. Our food was not replenished quick enough while guests were serving themselves. The captain was so overwhelmed in the kitchen she forgot to continue to call tables and guests were sitting for a while waiting to be called for food. Our champagne was not poured before our toasts were given. And to make matters worse the captain gave us back our tip and demanded $500 cash. Extremely rude and tacky. I will never do business with her again and would never recommend her to anyone.

e food was already room temperature. The caterers serving the food used the vegetable tongs on the steak to separate pieces, and then continued to use them in the vegetables. The bride was told that during cocktail hour while the wedding party was taking pictures, there would be someone coming around with food/appetizers for us, but that never happened. Once we were off waiting for the reception, a waiter came up with one drink order and one tray of appetizers, but never came back. The bartender seemed very unhappy to be there, and was rude to me and a few other guests. When I asked for a lime for my drink he pushed it down so that half of his finger was in my drink. The supervisor who was there dropped a tray of drinks down my back and purse while I was sitting eating dinner at the beginning of the reception. She did apologize and offer to pay to clean my purse. The bride and groom said Susan was responsive to their questions at first, but later on they had trouble getting a quick response from her. Overall, with so many caterers in the area to choose from, I would pick someone else. Edit: After I posted this review I spoke to Susan regarding my damaged bag which she ensured me they would take care of. It has been 3 months and after much back and forth with the individual employee who damaged the bag I still have not received any compensation. She also told me that the bride and groom told her they were happy with the way everything turned out (they didn't), and asked me to take down my review. Every part of my review is accurate to my experience so I will not be taking it off.

ll you guys that she killed it!! The food from start to finish was five star. I still crave my crab cakes. And how many times have you gone to a wedding where you have felt compelled to email or call your friend to tell him or her that the food was awesome? None. But I have received at least three emails or calls a day telling me how good the food was, and how high quality the ingredients were. I bet people think I spent a hundred thousand on that menu. But that's just how good she is. She believes in good quality food, prepared with high impact seasoning and sauces *which she makes herself and they make my mouth water as I write this. She really outdid herself. I am a meticulous researcher and spent endless hours emailing just about every single caterer in the tri-state area. I knew that the food was going to be the most important part of my wedding because my fiancé and I like to eat wholesome, good, well-cared for food, and serve the same to our guests whenever we entertain. However, we also happen to be a young, just-starting, home-owning couple and have what is considered to be quite a low budget in the wedding-catering world. About 20 caterers replied saying that they would work within my budget. Susan Kane was one of them. Over a couple of weeks of emailing back and forth, there was something that always drew me back to Susan because she was so warm and responsive and almost more on top of my menu planning than I was! We spoke over our philosophy about food, and it was very clear that to Susan, food was just as important to her as it was to us. Not only did she draft a spectacular menu for us, she also was always readily available with answers, ideas, and suggestions on how to make our wedding menu work for our ideas. She also sent me pictures of a wedding she had recently catered at our venue. It's comforting to know your caterer has worked your venue, because they will know the needs so much better. It was time to set up tastings! She blew us away. She and her chef had prepared in their kitchen, came to our home, and finished off the cooking. I liked this because it's a similar situation as to what would happen on Wedding Day. The food was just INCREDIBLE. We had been to some tastings before, but never got past 3 or 4 samples before we knew we could never serve our loved ones those things. Susan's food was not only good, but it was truly flavorful and creative. Just our style. She set up her serving trays to give us a clear visual on what our stations would look like, and she worked out even more details, odds & ends with us after. She sent a revised menu, and then a revised menu again! The most important thing about Susan isn't that her food is 5-Star, but that she as a person makes you, the couple, feel like 5-Star, too. She was the only caterer who made us feel special and important and focused on being there for us. Something, we found every where else, was reserved for the big-budget Bride and Groom. She's been incredible so far, and I can't wait to work with her until Wedding Day. Thanks Susan Kane Catering!
