My initial meeting with Susanne went ok. I showed her photos of what I wanted. My wedding colors were maroon and navy. She told me the exact flower in the photo I showed her was not available in my wedding season, which is fine...I was more con...cerned with the colors. I felt a little pressured to purchase a boutonniere for my FIL and my grandfather...both whom we have a strained relationship with. But I went with her advice at first and purchased them. After speaking with my groom...he said he did not want a boutonniere for his father. I contacted Sue afterwards and asked to replace both boutonnieres with a flower headpiece for myself. That was fine and there was an additional fee, which we hand delivered the check (about $20). I was told that the flowers would be delivered to my venue about 1PM on the wedding day, and they ended up delivering them before I even got to the venue. Upon inspecting my flowers, the headpiece was a completely different color than the flowers in my bouquet, as well as my groom's boutonniere and some pieces I ordered to put onto my cake. They were bright red, and not maroon like the rest of my wedding colors. Personally, I hate the color red on myself...and since they delivered and left before I even got there at 11AM, I had no option but to go with it. They also still sent the boutonnieres that I had cancelled, and labelled them father of the groom and grandfather of the bride, which left us having to have awkward conversations with them on our wedding day letting them know they were not going to be wearing them.
Flash forward to 2 days later, while I'm on my honeymoon, I was contacted by Susanne's and they told me the check that I hand delivered to them had a stop payment issued on it and they were charged an additional fee of $15. After spending almost $1,000 on flowers, it made no logical sense that a stop payment would have been placed on a $20 check. While on my honeymoon, I contacted my bank and they said it was not anything that I did, but it was something related to their bank. I emailed her to let her know. I then received more phone calls on my honeymoon that their bank was disputing it as well. When we got home, I spent over an hour on the phone with my bank trying to resolve it for Susanne's, and it was definitely not on my end. I offered to reissue the check, and they wanted me or my bank to pay the $15 fee as well. I refused, sent them the money I owed them, and they never called to thank me or tell me it was all set after multiple phone calls. The fact that they would argue with me over $15 when we spent about $1,000 with them is absurd. Charged me $100 just to put one (1) eucalyptus branch on each table, and left the tables looking empty.
