s perfect down to the last detail. The weekend of our wedding had a sudden drop in temperature, but they did a great job with their heaters/fire tables keeping all our of guests comfortable. We were able to continue celebrating without worrying about being cold. The entire staff so was nice and helpful. iful and well-maintained. We got so many compliments about it. Susan, Laura, and Samantha alleviated so much wedding-planning stress and coordinated everything flawlessly. We felt in such good hands the day of the wedding. We were able to be the first ones to use the on-site bridal house, Sutton House, which helped tremendously. There was so much space to get ready and just hangout. The kitchen allowed for us to bring our own food and drinks and we were able to spend the morning of the wedding comfortably. We were able to get some cute getting ready photos, our first look, and read private vows all in the back of Sutton House. Plus there is chicken pen - which was super fun! Another huge perk was that they offer a decoration package that I highly recommend! I had zero confidence in my ability to decorate and I was so glad I was able to leave it up to them. They had tons to choose from and were able to decorate flawlessly and it turned out so cute. The ceremony area was beautifully set under the decorated arch near a pond that was very dreamy. We chose to use their greenery wall, corn-hole boards, and fire pits that made for such a warm welcoming ambiance. We were really looking for a beautiful yet casual backyard-style vibe and Sutton Barn was the perfect mixture of both. We really couldn’t be happier with how our big day turned out. The tent area has new concrete so you don’t have to worry about mud, most of the areas are covered as well in case it rains, and they offer a heating package with tent and patio heaters and propane fireplaces. All of our guests said it was such an awesome and beautiful venue. Susan was so great to work with and made the planning so easy. We had Sam as our coordinator and she was amazing. She kept us on track and we didn’t have any hiccups along the way. I highly suggest their décor package as it includes use of their décor items and also set up/tear down. Sam decorated the venue so beautifully and all the lights made it stunning at night. We had so much fun and our guests raved about our night!

Samantha and her team were absolutely amazing when it came time to move the ceremony under the tent instead of at the water site like we originally planned. The ceremony site turned out more beautiful than we could’ve imagined!! Sam did a wonderful job decorating and making sure we had everything we needed throughout the night. We also absolutely adored our photographer Kelly - Keepers By Kelly Photography and Ed the DJ guy was great as well. We would absolutely recommend having your wedding at Sutton Barn!! P.s. the rain ended up stopping so we still were able to get some great pictures at our original ceremony site and on the grounds!

We got married in a rather cold and rainy October day, and not a single guest complained! They actually commended the use of heaters and patio overhang/ patio umbrellas that kept everyone happy and cozy. They do also offer bonfires and s’mores options for fall weddings! I was in love with this venue the moment we walked through in April 2022, we came back and booked as soon as possible for 2023 and were so excited to start planning! I worked with their in house coordinator, Sam, who is outstanding-! She assisted my waffling personality and was able to deliver on my vision! She kept me in the loop & on track with planning, she took care of EVERYTHING the day of and I couldn’t thank her enough for this. They are very flexible, open and honest. I can truly say I trusted them like family by time the wedding came. She was able to calm my pre wedding stress nerves and offered to help anywhere she could. Thank you Sutton for a truly beautiful wedding & the best staff I could have asked for. Timely, dependable and relaxed. Just what you want and need for your wedding day!

es and how much stuff you have to acquire I panicked. Thank goodness I picked this venue to get married at because they have EVERYTHING YOU NEED (at a reasonable price). They also have very good connections with vendors. We used a couple and everyone was amazing. They also have a wedding planner you can use through the venue. Let me tell you Sam the wedding planner put together a miracle for me. She literally kept me in line AND DID EVERYTHING + MORE!!! If you’re anything like me where you’re looking to plan the best party ever, then I highly recommend this place. Throughout the whole wedding process I was not stressed out, they communicated well, and I made friends that will last a life time from this place. Lastly, we have a new favorite golf course that we visit very frequently. Things that we added on: (very reasonably priced) -set up/take down of everything -paid to use there decorations (literally so much to choose from and very cute. Worth every penny) -photo wall -cigar bar -corn hole -space heaters -late night pizza Love Jen :)

I had an envision of what I wanted my wedding day to look like and even created a Pinterest board of hundreds of ideas from aisle decor, pumpkins, table decor to hair and makeup. I decided to hire Samantha mainly to help with the decor set up and tear down as I knew this was already money well spent just in those tasks alone. I had many conversations with Susan and Samantha about my envision, each time hesitant to if it would actually look the same day of as I have pictured in my head. It was very hard for me to give up all control and trust that Samantha would deliver, she reassured me each time that it would be perfect and as she had said many times to me “I gotcha ya girl”. Cut to the day of the wedding - I stepped off the limo bus at Sutton’s barn and was absolutely blown away and brought to tears at how absolutely beautiful the venue for my wedding was set up! It was PERFECT and EXACTLY how I envisioned it!!!! The details at the ceremony site were perfect with hay bales, mums and pumpkins exactly how I envisioned it, the set up in the tent was beautiful, each table looked beautiful and exactly how I envisioned it, the greenery wall was the perfect backdrop for our photo booth and neon sign, the whiskey barrels were placed perfectly where I wanted them, the gift table, desert table and food set up was PERFECT! Our day was the most perfect day and we were told by so many guest how beautiful this place was and how beautiful the wedding was and I 100000% owe that all to Samantha and Susan for delivering me and my husband the most perfect day! They handled everything and worked so hard to make my day (and many other brides) day absolutely breathtaking! I will forever be grateful to both Susan and Samantha for making our wedding so memorable to not only me but all our family and guest! Thank you ladies from the bottom of our hearts for all the hard work, attention to detail, dedication, passion and most of all the love you put into making our wedding day so special and beautiful! I also choose to purchase Samantha’s decor package as it greatly helped take any pressure off from me to buy all the extra decorations when Sam had everything you could ever want for decor. Her wide variety of decorations to choose from we’re amazing and honestly was so worth purchasing the package. Only regret I have after the wedding was I wished it lasted longer, it was such a beautiful day/evening and that was all thanks to these beautiful ladies! ❤️❤️

That being said, Sam was the glue who held everything together for all of the small details of the wedding. She was always responsive and willing to answer our questions, which was great, but was nothing compared to all of the tiny things she did on the day of to make our day beautiful and worry-free. We gave her a very loose idea of what to do with the decor and she put tons of little extra touches on it that tied everything together so well. She was around the whole night to keep things on schedule, answer guests' questions, bustle my dress, make sure we had drinks/food, and any other little detail you could think of. Most of all, we didn't have to convince our friends and family to come early or stay late to help decorate which they really appreciated. We had our wedding during a very rainy October, but the venue is set up to have the ceremony and reception no matter what the weather is, which was a huge relief during the planning process. (I will say that the ceremony aisle and the surrounding outdoor area was soaked which made taking our wedding party photos pretty interesting!) The major downsides for us were the limited flexibility on the alcohol packages and the fact that we couldn't get ready on site, but we knew both of those things in advance, before we ever booked the venue. We did BBQ for dinner, Grand Traverse Pies for dessert, late night pizza and s'mores/bonfires pits and it was really fun to be able to customize all those things to make our day perfect. Thanks to everyone at Sutton Barn - we would highly recommend them to anyone.

We hired Samantha (Sutton's Venue Coordinator) and she truly did a wonderful job. They are a newer venue and were very open to feedback and did everything they could to make our day special and go off without a hitch. We planned the wedding from out of state and that presented some challenges, as did our style (we are not very traditional) but they rose to the occasion and executed a perfect day for us. Our day turned out absolutely perfect and we wouldn't have changed a thing! A couple of things to note: This venue is family-owned and operated! We got a lot more personalization and personal touches than we would have from a more traditional venue. Seeing the venue in person is breathtaking and Susan and Samantha continue to add or make improvements all the time but this place has serious charm. The stone cellar and pond overlook are breathtaking! If it's not already, it will be a premiere rustic Michigan wedding venue and a hot commodity very shortly. There is not a private pre-event space that is locked away - it's a lofted space inside so you and your bridal party will not be able to spend the day getting ready there before (limited power, no door) so plan for that - they are very straightforward in letting you know that, too! There is limited power for anything over a 3piece band - we had a 5 piece band ( + sound, MC) - we were able to make it work (no lights, etc.) but it's something to keep in mind - you'll need a small band or DJ! You should 100% hire Samantha - it will save you time, energy, and money in the long run. She was excellent and knows what she is doing - she worked very hard and made everything perfect for us. They have a great decor package - if you're interested see what they have to offer in person and pick things out! We did and loved it - this also required minimal additional decor purchases on our end aside from florals! 10000/10 venue!
