Sweet Art Bakery

After 5 tastings with other bakeries, I had lost hope when we got to Sweet Art. Our cake was apparently a difficult design, and the previous tastings made it clear that the cake would be difficult to replicate. When we met with Carrie, she was ALL ABOUT the cake. She said she would be so excited to replicate what we wanted, and that alone was our deciding factor. The cake was delivered on time, looked fantastic, and tasted OUT OF THIS WORLD delicious!! I am a cake fanatic and I don’t think I’ve ever had a better tasting cake than the one they made us. So happy we saved the best tasting for last!! Sweet Art for the win!!!

Our cakes turned out so beautiful and were perfectly decorated with the flowers left by my florist! They tasted amazing and we had plenty leftover afterwards. Staff was super easy to work with and very helpful in making some changes along the way!

Our cake was absolutely beautiful and not to mention delicious! They were able to take the designs that we wanted and merge them into art. They also will make you a small cake to celebrate your one-year anniversary, so you do not have to worry about taking cake home or eating one year old cake.

Our cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted even better. Carrie designed the cake with us and the delivery was on time and set up to perfection.

I can't rave enough about how delicious our cake was! For our guests, I'm pretty sure this was the highlight of their night! We received sooooooo many compliments days after the wedding about how amazing the cake was! The design was just what we planned and they added fresh flowers.

Love their cakes! Our wedding was on 3.30.2019 and they did a fabulous job on both of our cakes. The grooms cake was a camera and people kept walking up to the table saying "Wow, that looks like a real camera!" The brides cake was amazing too; we are still enjoying it! They made our vision come to life!

My wedding was on Saturday, 04/20/2019 and I have already recommended this baker to 3 other brides. Best bakers ever! They made [i.e. designed, baked, decorated, delivered & put on display] TWO cakes for my wedding. Not only were the cakes beautiful but they were so tasty! I didn't actually get to have any cake until Monday, 04/22/2019 and it was phenomenal. They even offer a free cake on your one year anniversary so you don't have to save your top tier! These ladies even matched the flowers on the cake to the color of the bridesmaid's dresses [I sent them a swatch]. Now I just want more cake. I probably will order a little one before the one year; 6-month anniversary cake! Thank you, Sweet Art!

We loved everything about this bakery from the start! They were incredibly helpful in our consultation and the cakes were stunning! They turned out even better than we pictured. Also, the cakes were DELICIOUS! Everyone raved about how wonderful the cakes were!

Our wedding cake was beautiful! Our theme was a winter wonderland theme and they nailed it. The consultation was great and they listened to our ideas and drew a rough sketch of what we envisioned. Literally a work of art. The cake flavors and icings are delicious. There’s so many combinations you can do and choose from that the hardest part is deciding which ones to do. We had an amazing customized cake that was delicious and our guests were in awe of it and for a great price too!

We went into Sweet Art Bakery for our first wedding cake testing, and then canceled our other 3 appointments! First, everyone in the bakery is so friendly and helpful. Second, the cakes and icings are so delicious that it is really hard to choose which flavor(s) you want. She helped us by drawing out our cake, talking through design options, and helping us decide what size we needed to feed our guests. Not to mention, we did not feel pressured the entire time we were there to sign a contract or make a quick decision. However, it was a quick and easy decision to make! They delivered our cake to our venue seamlessly and set it up on our cake table. Would recommend over and over again! I'm still having dreams about eating our wedding cake :)

These women are amazing! We were referred by our venue and went with them since they were familiar with them. I requested for my bridal cake a tiered cake with flowers in between and for the grooms cake chocolate in the shape of Texas. Not only was the tasting amazing but the cakes that were delivered were still homemade and moist. Highly recommended for all occasions!

Absolutely AMAZING. Sweet Art bakery did a phenomenal job on our wedding cake. It was GONE within 2 days of the wedding, everyone could not stop eating it. I cannot vouch personally for the cake, but the guests and the groom said their champagne cake and strawberry cake was delicious. I CAN vouch for their gluten free cake, which as someone with a gluten intolerance, finding a bakery that did both was difficult. Their cake was sos delicious, moist, and flavorful, I almost forgot I wasn't eating a regular cake. So good!

Cake tasting with Kelly definitely was the most enjoyable moment in the whole wedding planning process. She was exciting and thoughtful. She asked us many questions so they can make our dream cake. We went to different cake tastings and no one else makes cakes like they do. Yummy! Our wedding cake was beautiful and of course delicious. We can't wait to celebrate our 1year anniversary with their complimentary anniversary cake. Highly recommended!

Our wedding planner recommended Sweet Art Bakery and we were not disappointed! From the second we took the first bite during our tasting, we knew our search for a cake was over. The fact that the cake the night of the wedding was even better than what we had during our tasting was just an extra little surprise. We got a three tier, multi-flavored cake that was absolutely amazing. We also had a separate eight inch round that got cut up in the kitchen while we were doing the cutting for pictures out front so our guests didn't have to wait for the actual cake to be cut. They are also going to give us a new top tier to have on our first anniversary, which is awesome. Not only do we not have to keep a cake in our freezer for the next year, but we didn't have to pay extra for a tier of cake that wouldn't get eaten by our guests. I'd highly recommend this bakery to couples looking for affordable, delicious, and beautiful cakes.

Tasting was great. Wedding cake was great, if a bit dry for the middle tier. I called a month in advance for our one year anniversary cake to determine when I should put in our order, however, and my experience turned bad fast. I was instructed to order within a few days of our anniversary, so I called again the Tuesday before (our one year mark is on a Sunday). They told me that I can choose a chocolate or vanilla cake since it's within a week of the date, due to them being so busy. However, if I order to have it AFTER our anniversary, then I can choose different flavors. I've always been a bit of a traditionalist and it meant a lot to have this cake similar to our wedding cake and on our first anniversary, so I'm frustrated. The anniversary cake was a huge reason for us choosing this bakery. And chocolate or vanilla isn't even close to what we had for the wedding... and not something we want our money wasted on. I spoke to the owner. When I stated that I was not informed of this restriction, she told me that it's on the website, and then informed me of the struggle to keep everyone happy and try to keep her employees there. I am NOT happy. I feel that since they've already gotten money out of my husband and I... we no longer matter. I try not to be a pain... I just would have liked warning. I had no reason to check the site as I had all of my original paperwork, the business card, and the phone number saved. There is no flavor restriction listed, and when I called a month in advance it was the bakery's employee who told me to call within a few days... again with no mention of a flavor restriction. They withheld information regarding a policy of theirs, and thus have caused my husband and I to be missing a piece of our anniversary celebration.

I was a complete mess when it came to choosing what we wanted for our cake. The ladies here helped us when we changed our mind last minute on a big order. They were helpful, never complained or made us feel bad , and they were a pleasure to work with. I went from wanting a very small cake with cupcakes , to making a large cake , different texture, and taking cupcakes out completely. They were understanding and great about it all. The cake tasted amazing and our guests even complimented how great it tasted.

Cannot say enough great things about this bakery! The tasting was awesome & they were able to easily sketch out all our ideas. We were able to pick different flavors for all our tiers. The cakes turned out absolutely beautiful & we received so many compliments on how delicious the cakes were!

Without a doubt, the best bakery experience I've ever had. From our first tasting at the shop to the ceremonial first bite at our reception, both the cake and the service were exceptional. Our consultant, Kelly, was just as excited about my vision as I was, which made the process that much more fun. The cake was as stunning as it was delicious!

Sweet Art offers a huge variety of cake and cupcake flavors to choose from. We even ordered a dozen gluten free cupcakes and made those guests feel extra special. The bride and groom's final choices were almost too pretty to eat, but definitely too delicious not to! Andrea personally braved a downpour to make certain the cake table looked just right. Given her experience and reputation, we knew to expect nothing less. The wedding may be behind us, but we rarely pass by Sweet Art without stopping for a treat!

My cakes were so yummy and beautiful! Sweet Art captured my vision perfectly for the brides cake (and they can do gluten free which was a challenge finding for me) and the groom's cake was everything he wanted! I would recommend Sweet Art to anyone looking for a bakery in the North Texas area!

Not only was our cake BEAUTIFUL, it was so delicious... And everyone said so! We booked about 9-10 months in advance. The staff was very responsive and really helped consult me on making the right choices when my guest list ended up being a bit larger than originally planned. I love that we could choose different flavors for each tier. The Lemon, Chocolate & Almond were our choices and they didn't disappoint. I planned my wedding from across the country and used Sweet Art Bakery because the venue told me other gluten intolerant brides had used them. When I looked at their website, I loved the designs of their cakes, but had no idea whether it would taste good. I had my cake tasting a month before the wedding and the cake was AMAZING!! I am so happy the venue suggested Sweet Art Bakery! They designed the cakes just as I wanted, except for the frosting color, which thankfully, they had already talked me into a different idea for that as it would have stained everyone's mouths. The bride & grooms cake were both delicious and absolutely beautiful! I couldn't have been more pleased with them!!

The cake was a big hit at the wedding. It looked beautiful and tasted great. After booking we had some communication issues with Sweet Art and were kind of on the fence about using them, but they came through in the end and we are happy we went with them. We had a McKinney wedding and wanted to use local vendors. I was living overseas at the time so I was only in McKinney for one day. I'm not sure if they do cake tastings or not, but they definitely were not able to do one while I was in town so I was told to buy cupcakes if I'd like to try their flavors. We ended up booking them. It's a small business and seems like there are only 1 or 2 people there that know about their wedding side. I initially paid the deposit and discussed cake options in person over a year out from the wedding. Then went into the store a month or so before the wedding to make the final payment and finalize the cake choices. A few weeks before the wedding we emailed asking for cake stand options and to see if we could get photos. They replied back a very nondescript response with no photos and also said that I needed to finalize my cake choices, which as I mentioned, I had done that in person previously. Calling didn't seem to work well so we make a long drive to go in person to actually get the full information. The staff didn't know anything about the stands so we had to wait a bit for the owner to arrive. The stand options weren't really anything we wanted so we ended up supplying our own. It seemed like it was always a big issue to communicate with them about wedding things specifically. In the end the cake was beautiful and delicious. They worked really well with our florist (The Stalk Market, McKinney). It was touch and go, but we are happy that we went with them and would hire them again if given the chance.

The customer service is horrible. I thought it was b/c I came in on a Friday to look at cake books (a busy day for wedding prep) but the next time I came to visit and place order, I saw them treating other guest who had orders the same way. I was planning a wedding in McKinney, Tx while living in California. I ordered a cake that they had already made and was using as advertisement. Same blush color & size. Literally- No customization at all. However, on my wedding day, they delivered a PURPLE CAKE! The up charge for the opulent bows, turned out to Be as thin as shoestring bows. I was horrified because I literally HATE PURPLE! When I emailed Sarah, the owner, she said I never produced a swatch and a load of other excuses like the venue candlelit room was dark. I reminded here that I asked for a duplicate of her picture Then emailed her a side by side picture of her work. She apologized and offered100$ toward photo editing, but refused to refund me at least half the rate. After I had just spent $1000 on cake. She said they were there on time and delivered. I said, I don't get a redo of my perfect day! There's pictures to prove it was purple. After a few ugly emails, she said, she will deal with only the editor. I let the issue go, but I realize 2 other brides that felt the same way. The cake taste fine, but This woman is simply rude.

Sweet Art Bakery did an outstanding job on my wedding cake. We chose to go with a "naked" cake and it was beautiful. Aside from how pretty it was, it tasted amazing too - My husband and I were eating every last leftover the next morning. The cake tasting was very easy to schedule and Natalie was great! They have many different cake flavors and icings to try from so you are definitly not limited. I also felt the pricing was VERY reasonable. Natalie was even so kind to suggest other vendors in the McKinney area (I ended up booking my flowers through the Stalk Market as a result!). I did have a few times that my e-mails went unanswered, but this could also be due to (1) a random snowstorm that hit the area when we were trying to book (2) I chose to communicate primarily through e-mail so I'm not sure if it would have been a problem over the phone as well... Overall, great cake and Natalie was amazizng :) I would definitely not hesitate to use the Sweet Art Bakery again. *Bonus* Instead of freezing your top tier and trying to save it for your one year anniversary, they bake you a new mini cake the next year!!!

We used Sweet Art for our wedding cake and grooms cake. I chose a 4 layer cake to serve 120. We did a different design on each layer and Sarah was able to do that for me and it looked flawless. The cake itself is absolutely delicious. It tasted really fresh which was something we really wanted. Sometimes wedding cakes can be stale. The grooms cake was a playstation with a controller and game. It looked great as well. However, It was supposed to say Game Over at the bottom and that was left off by the bakery. I am not sure if she missed that in the emails or what happened. That was pretty disappointing to me since that is the reason I chose that particular design. That is why I give it a 4 and not a 5. Attention to detail is important to brides and I wish that would not have been missed in our emails. Other than that everything was great!

We used Sweet Art for our bride's and groom's cakes. We needed a gluten free top layer because I am gluten intolerant and we had some guests that were as well. They have the best gluten free cake I have ever tasted! My favorite was the lemon gluten free cake and raspberry filling with butter cream icing; my mom and now husband couldn't event tell the difference between the gf and regular cake when we picked it at the tasting. Both gf and regular cake was very moist. They have so many great flavors and fillings and we were able to do several different ones in both of our cakes. The designs were also amazing! They were able to incorporate several design elements from my dress on my cake and they made an amazing golf bag cake that was modeled after my husband's OSU golf bag. I wish this site would let you upload pictures; the detail was incredible! They also include a fresh first anniversary cake, which we are very much looking forward to. :) I highly recommend them.

My wedding cakes were absolutely delicious and looked great too! I really enjoyed working with Sweet Art Bakery, they deliver great service and amazing tasting cakes. They were even able to create a "Jeep" cake for my groom that was fabulous! I can't wait to return to Sweet Art Bakery for my anniversary cake next year!

The cakes were yummy! The custom make a beer keg with by husband's beer label for the groom's cake, it turned out awesome! Everybody said the cakes were the best they ever had! Highly recommend!!!!

After the initial consultation, it was correspondence by email & drawings - no objections to that except for the fact that she did not follow completely through with bride's ideas & suggestions. The cake decor seemed to lack the usual creative edge we had seen in many of the photos that were presented as samples of other cakes. Just be sure to make yourself perfectly clear as the size you want your top adornments as well as how much color you want. I would suggest to actually TALK in person. As for the taste, the wedding cake & groom's cake were delicious, a 5 star rating for that. The groom's cake was very cute & done according to brides ideas & wishes.

We used Sweet Art Bakery for our May 2012 wedding cake. The cake turned out EXACTLY like we wanted AND tasted amazing! I brought in a picture of the cake I wanted from online and they replicated it perfectly. We got so many compliments on the look and taste of the cake!! They were very sweet and easy to work with and I have referred them to many of my friends.

By all means, use Sweet Art Bakery for your cakes! We LOVED our cakes, both the look and the taste! We brought some unique ideas that Sarah had never done before, and she rose to the challenge! And I can't get over how incredibly yummy everything was! I live a good 45 minutes away, but I will always use her anytime I need a cake because it was that good! She also had great communication, patience, and was able to work within our budget. Sarah is super sweet and we really enjoyed working with her!
