Sweet Fix Custom Cakes and Desserts

Cake flavors were delicious and tarts were very popular among guests!

Sweet Fix really lives up to its name! Aside from the fact that our cake was both gorgeous and DELICIOUS, the bakers and coordinators at Sweet Fix were super accommodating, kind, and communicative. We had to plan our wedding from out of state, but they were flexible with our virtual chats and were incredibly helpful with scheduling our tastings and coordinating the set up for the big day. We are both still dreaming about that champagne cake and strawberry buttercream and cannot wait to revisit it on our first anniversary!!

We used Sweet Fix for our October wedding and what can I say other than they were an absolute delight. From day one Rachel was so responsive and thorough. We ordered a 6 inch cake (chocolate stout w/ spiced rum buttercream) along with 60 cupcakes (chocolate stout w/ spiced rum buttercream; apple cake w/ maple buttercream; and blackberry lavender w/ blackberry jam filling and honey buttercream) and there were no leftover cupcakes. All of the flavors were a hit with our guests. I cannot recommend Sweet Fix enough to anyone who wants fantastic desserts and a wonderful crew to work with.

We used Sweet Fix for both our wedding cake and cookie favors on our big day! We received so many compliments on our wedding cake and the entire cake was eaten!! We did alternating tiers of lemon with vanilla and chocolate with salted caramel and both were phenomenal! Not to mention the cake was beautiful! We highly recommend using Sweet Fix for all your wedding needs!

Working with Sweet Fix was such a great choice for our wedding. First and foremost, the cake was absolutely delicious. We had an earl gray cake with lavender honey frosting, and an almond cake with orange Grand Marnier frosting - they were incredible. The design was gorgeous! They also sculpted our cat to use as a cake topper... it was just incredible. I wish I had a piece of it to eat right now.

Our cake was absolutely breathtaking and tasted amazing! Amanda walked us though my wife’s vision and made suggestions on how it could be improved. With the design she had in mind, our cake with from being deconstructed tiers to a double tier, which showcased the ornate design perfectly. We also ordered mini cakes for each guest that were absolutely perfect.

We used Sweet Fix for our wedding in March and it was simply the BEST! Amanda was the sweetest to work with and really worked with us to craft the perfect menu for our guests. We had a wedding cake, cookie cake (grooms cake), 3 different flavors of macaroons and cannolis. The macaroons were possibly the best I have ever had and were demolished. Our dessert table was so freaking cute. Would highly recommend using Sweet Fix. Delicious, sweet treats, gorgeous design, affordable, great customer service and amazing talent behind the scenes!

Sweet Fix's cakes are super delicious and we couldn't be happier with how our wedding cake turned out. The team is super responsive, professional, friendly and easy to work with. The tasting experience was nice and they were flexible when we had to reschedule our wedding twice due to the pandemic. The cake looked exactly how we pictured and we got several compliments on how delicious the cake tasted. I've been to plenty of weddings where the cake felt like an afterthought or just a box to check, but Sweet Fix's cake helped make our reception even more special. I'd definitely recommend Sweet Fix for your wedding or special event!

Amanda and the team at Sweet Fix knocked it out of the park! I honestly was not sure how many of our guests would eat dessert after the dinner reception meal but not long after we cut the cake our caterers came up to us and told us that if we wanted to have any of our other desserts we needed to rush because our guests were LOVING them so much but they were almost all gone because they were so tasty! We decided to do a cutting cake (carrot cake plus biscotti cookie buttercream icing which I STILL think about regularly), cupcakes, mini pie tarts and an assortment of macarons. They were all so delicious and beautifully decorated, works of art almost! Amanda and her team had platter rentals that we utilized that matched our theme/decor and they came in and set-up the entire dessert display which looked awesome. Their team was a pleasure to work with, we loved all of our desserts and so did our friends and family!

SO DELICOUS. Communication with the Sweet Fix team was a breeze—they were super responsive and accommodating to all our requests. Both of our wedding cakes were gluten-free and they were so tasty that nobody knew. All their flavors taste unique and their buttercreams have the perfect amount of sweetness, unlike some other places we tried. It was so hard to choose a flavor between all their delicious options that we had to do a second round of tasting. We’re so excited to go back and get Sweet Fix cupcakes on our anniversary!

Sweet Fix made the cake for our June 2021 wedding and the experience was incredible from start to finish! Amanda and her team were so responsive, knowledgeable, and kind! We didn't have a solid plan coming into the tasting, but Amanda helped us get a better idea for what flavors and design ideas might fit our vision. The team also worked with us when our wedding plans changed due to COVID and they made sure we had everything we needed when we requested to pick up the cake ourselves. The design turned out better than we could have ever imagined and the cake itself was absolutely delicious--we were thrilled to share it with our family and friends! We highly recommend working with the hardworking, talented team at Sweet Fix!

Sweet Fix worked with us to design the perfect cake for our special day. The flavors were AMAZING and we had a hard time deciding. They have plenty of GF options too. Even during the trying times of Covid, Sweet Fix easily accommodated us with out guest number changes and made the process a breeze. I can't wait to eat the cake again on our anniversary!

We are so pleased to have chosen Sweet Fix to create the cake for our September 2020 wedding! Not only was the owner Amanda very personable, communicative, and easy to work with, the cake itself looked beautiful and tasted amazing. We wanted something simple and elegant in appearance, to allow for our florist to decorate with the same florals we used throughout the venue - the end result was perfect and exactly what we had in mind. We also appreciated the extensive flavor options, as well as the ability to set up multiple take-home tastings after the initial meeting at the bakery. One last note/rave - we originally had our wedding scheduled for April 2020, which had to be postponed due to COVID. Amanda was so understanding and flexible - she worked with us and our event coordinator to accommodate our new date without any issues. We are so grateful to have worked with such a fantastic team of vendors - we 100% recommend Sweet Fix, not only for the delicious/beautiful cake, but for the professionalism!

Amanda was amazing! After one meeting she was able to bring my daughter’s wish list to life! The cake turned out beautiful and is one of the best I’ve ever tasted. In addition to the cake Amanda provided vegan and gluten free cupcakes so all of our guests’ needs were made. I highly recommend Sweet Fix for your next event! A wedding cake is one of the most fun parts when planning your wedding! We wanted a cake that represented us as a couple and also had little details highlighting both of our unique personalities and obviously a cake that tastes amazing! Amanda and her team were able to do this with ease! Even though our cake was so unique to us, with our anime and Harry Potter twists, Amanda and her team reassured us that this was right up their ally. Sweet fix was able to capture my husband and I on a cake. When guests saw our cake they all knew, “yup that’s Mitch and Lauren’s cake”. Even with all our personal touches and details Amanda still made our cake look elegant wedding cake! As much as we loved the aesthetics of the cake, it still need to taste incredible. Sweet fix has a variety of flavors and fun combinations we could choose for our cake. They made us an incredible cake with each tier featuring a different combination of flavors. Our guests could not get enough of that cake, and neither could we!! We’re so grateful to Amanda and the sweet fix team for what they did for us!!

Cakes are outstanding! Their flavors are delicious and their buttercream icings are out of this world. What I love most about their icing, it is not sweet like a lot of cake places out there. So what that means, instead of pushing all the icing to the side of your plate, you can actually eat the whole cake slice without having to throw the icing away . Big Win!!! They have great customer service and literally will talk to you throughout the entire planning process and answer any questions you have. I would highly recommend them for any of your cake or baking needs.

Sweet Fix crafted a masterful, elegant cake for our wedding. It was absolutely beautiful and incredibly delicious. Amanda was prompt with designs and envisioned the perfect cake without us providing very much detail. She was an absolute professional and her communication was friendly and efficient. And we still dream about that cake. We decided to book her right after our tasting because we had so much fun with her and she whipped up some tasty frosting concoctions on the fly. I love that we could pick out specific flavors and combinations for the tasting. It helped us narrow down our choices and know exactly what the cake would taste like. Amanda & her team are seriously so talented and amazing. We went to her with a high concept wedding cake involving a mash up of Star Wars & The Little Mermaid, and she was able to execute it even better than imagined. Meeting her at the tasting was wonderful. She listened, took notes, and asked lots of questions, while showing us concepts. She sent us a sketch within a day, and it was perfect. Fast forward to the wedding day, and we couldn't believe how amazing it looked. All our guests were complimenting it all night long. It was elegant, and gorgeous. It tasted amazing, and many people had multiple servings. The price was super reasonable for what we wanted. I would refer anyone who wants a perfect wedding cake to her.

I hired Amanda at Sweet Fix for our wedding cake, and I wanted to share my honest feedback with her and future brides looking for a cake artist. First of all, the good stuff: the flavor and decorations of the cake were fantastic. My guests and I were all very pleased with the flavors we chose, and the look of the cake was lovely. However, the reason I rocked my review by several stars was actually around the business and experience of working with Amanda. One bit of feedback I hope they will take on is to offer event packages for the cake proposals. In my experience with all the other vendors I worked with for our wedding who were involved in food and beverage, we had packages that broke down the costs of what we were paying for, but didn’t nickel and dime every single little thing as separate charges. With Amanda at Sweet Fix, we kept receiving separate charges for the tasting (which was $20 for 4 very tiny cupcakes - barely enough to split with my spouse), for the design consultation, for specific details on the cake, etc. I am totally fine with compensating people for great work — but the way this was gone about left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt like I was being “nickel and dimed” over every little thing, instead of just paying for my wedding cake and all that comes with that process. Amanda was also extremely hard to get in touch with — I noticed when wedding season picked up, she got her assistant Kimberly to start responding for her, which was good, but only started shortly before our wedding. Finally, the last bit of feedback I would offer Amanda is around her attitude through emails. Several months before my wedding, we shifted the color scheme slightly and I requested to change the color of the fondant but keep the majority of the design the same. Her response was not very accommodating or open, and again brought up the fact that this would be an additional charge. Perhaps it would have gone better if she or her assistant just called me, because it could have been that her tone wasn’t coming across as intended - but I was emailing dozens of vendors for my wedding, and hers were markedly less warm and open than others’. So, all in all, overall the product was good, but the service left much to be desired.

I wanted to choose a cake for my wedding that didn't necessarily look good but something that tasted delicious. I did a cake tasting and everything tasted spectacular. So I decided to go with sweetfix . After the cake arrived and me and my husband cut into it, the cake was so dense and flavorless, I wasn't happy and neither were the guest. I'm not sure what transpired here but it wasn't the same quality cake I had when I did the tasting. I promised everyone a delicious cake and I fell short on that promise. I would say they are a good choice but make sure the cake actually taste as good as the cupcake tasting.

Amanda and her team are phenomenal! Our wedding cake was even more beautiful (and tastier!) than I imagined. Sweet Fix offers some really unique cake/frosting pairings - definitely listen to their suggestions because we ended up with some fantastic flavor pairings. Their suggestion of having a kitchen cake saved us a lot of money and we even had leftovers at the end of the night for guests to take home!

Our Sweet Fix Bakery cakes were a perfect center pieces at our wedding reception! We were married at a venue outside of Richmond and wanted to keep the vendors of the wedding local to the area, enter Sweet Fix. Sweet Fix was so easy to work with. They email through an online system which can be a pain sometimes, but the staff were so prompt in response and executed my vision without me even meeting them! We cake tasted via the pickup option, cupcakes to go in flavor combinations we chose. All the flavors were delicious. We did 3 single tier cakes, each decorate with buttercream in different ways. They turned out FLAWLESS. The Sweet Fix staff also added some florals on provided by our florist and made the cakes look even better, truly pieces of art. The cakes tasted amazing, moist and fluffy with bold flavors. I wish we lived in Richmond to visit Sweet Fix regularly! We could not be more impressed or pleased with Sweet Fix and are so happy they were a part of our day.

Can’t go wrong with Amanda and Sweet Fix for your wedding cake needs! I could seriously eat the pistachio and maple buttercream or buttermilk spice with orange-vanilla every day for the rest of my life. On top of that Amanda designs beautiful cakes and makes delicious cannoli. I showed her a picture of what I was looking for at our consultation meeting, and she drew the cake of our dreams in like 5 mins. On the wedding day, it was exactly as she drew it all those months ago. And the cannoli she made as a second dessert was delicious (I wish we could have kept some more.) She's also professional and responsive throughout the whole process.

Sweet fix was the best! I loved that they came and set everything up on their platters. It was one less thing that we had to worry about. The fluffy, creative macaroons were gone in minutes! Everything tasted and looked amazing. They were easy to communicate with and their booking/messaging system was really smart. I was even able to set up automatic payments so I wouldn't forget as it got closer to the wedding. I highly recommend Sweet Fix for big and small events!

Our cake was exactly what we envisioned. Stunningly beautiful and absolutely delicious. The bakers were a dream to work with. Totally awesome people there with amazing style. Sadly my groom & I were so busy with wedding events that we couldn’t try a single item from the dessert table. It would’ve been great if they had set aside a sampling plate ahead of time or packed some up to go like our caterers did with the food.

I loved working with Amanda. She was able to take a few photos that I gave her and make a stunning cake! It perfectly fit what I was looking for, and even exceeded my expectations. On top of that, it was delicious! Most wedding cakes focus on style over flavor, but nothing was sacrificed by Amanda! Meeting with her beforehand for a tasting was very helpful for us too, allowing us to really find flavors that we loved. Sweet fix was extremely easy to work with, and I highly recommend them.

Amanda rocks. When I approached Sweet Fix last year with my grandiose idea of having a dessert from every state in which my husband and I have lived, Amanda took the idea and ran with it (despite her better judgement!) Of course we had a gorgeous cake with piping that matched the lace on my dress and a delicious lemon filling, but we also had eight (!!) different desserts representing eight different states. That included a specific bananas foster bread pudding recipe from a restaurant that is near and dear to my heart prepared perfectly.b People RAVED about the sweets and my only regret is that I barely got to make a dent in them myself!

Sweet Fix made my wedding cake and it was DELICIOUS and also beautiful. They have so many flavor options that you can choose from to mix up cake flavors, icing, and even filling for each tier. Meeting with Amanda was so helpful to design my dream cake and to taste different flavor combinations. They are able to do more decorative patterns than I even knew of. Not only are their cakes nice to look at but good to eat. We had guests asking if there was extra for them to take home. The cake was not cheap, but it was definitely high quality. For me, it was worth it!

Amanda at Sweet Fix is a true artist. Her creativity and passion is a pleasure to work with. She made the entire experience so much fun without any stress. She did everything I had imagined and more. The best part, was the cake was a true work of art, but it tasted even better than it looked. Everyone said it was by far the most delicious cake they have ever had! We couldn’t have been happier!

Sweet fix was amazing!!! We got a scraped naked cake for our fall wedding and chose spiced rum cake with the same frosting. It was perfect and literally tasted like fall. I can’t wait to have our anniversary tier. They set it up for you and I left flowers for my cake and they arranged them on my cake beautifully. Our tasting appointment was super fun and easy. Amanda was great . I love supporting local places And I will always go to their bakery too. Can’t say enough good things.

We recently had them make our wedding cake and macarons and truffles for the reception. The cake was beautiful and tasted great! (We did champagne cake with strawberry buttercream) They were very responsive and helpful before the event helping us figure out what we wanted and the cake arrived on time and in perfect condition. The macarons and chocolates were also delicious, especially loved by the kids. Thanks!

Amazing work and delicious cakes! Amanda was great to work with during our tasting. She listened and drafted a picture of our wedding cake. She was also very responsive to emails and provided honest feedback when I wanted to change designs. On the big day, our cake not only looked flawless but got rave reviews from our guests.

I cannot say enough about Sweet Fix! I met with Amanda in early 2017 to taste cakes and pick flavors and design elements. We wanted a dessert table for our large wedding party. From our consultation appointment in which we decided on several cake flavors and elements for the dessert table to the amazing final product, it was seemless and smooth! We loved our beautiful wedding cake and will have wonderful memories for years to come. Our guests especially loved the desserts (peach pie pops, mousse shooters, cupcakes, and macarons), we did not have very many left to take home!

Had them cater my wedding cake for both the ceremony and the reception and could not have asked for better service and taste. Absolutely helpful and friendly, and worked with me on meeting my needs within my budget. Would HIGHLY recommend them!

We were so amazed with the cake! It was a work of art and was as delicious as it was beautiful.

Amanda, created exactly the cake my daughter wanted. The lighter Italian buttercream icing she uses is very nice, and she did both blue velvet cake layers, and chocolate marble cake ones. The groom's father said it was the best cake he ever ate. She also rented to us the perfect pedestal cake stand at a nominal cost. Amanda placed the florist's fresh flower decoration onto the cake herself to ensure perfection. My daughter also wanted macarons, so they made slate blue ones in the mixed berry flavor, and ivory ones in salted caramel. Both were decorated with metallic gold. The bride's father thought they were fantastic, and he's not normally a fan of sweets! Amanda is easy to work with, friendly and professional with a smoothly-run business, talented staff, and the cutest shop!

Sweet Fix did a fantastic job with the cake for our wedding! We worked with Amanda, and she created an awesome cake that really met our vision. We did a small “cutting” cake, since we were going with a large “kitchen” sheet cake to feed the majority of guests. Despite this, she still treated our order with care, and was very prompt and attentive in working with us to create a custom design. Also, their cake is DELICIOUS. Even though our cake was small, we decided to still get the full experience of doing a tasting- and it was so hard to pick a flavor, they were all so good! Unfortunately they were out of delivery drivers for our wedding day, but they were willing to work with us to have one of the groomsmen come pick the cake up. Overall, we would definitely recommend them!

We were so pleased with Amanda and Sweet Fix!! Sweet Fix provided our wedding cake as well as a dessert table of assorted cupcakes. From our first meeting with Amanda, we knew we were in good hands. She took the time to get to know us personally and what we were interested in. Our tasting was nothing short of fantastic - it was so hard to choose among the yummy flavor combinations, since they were all so good! On the day of our wedding, the cake was delivered and set up right on schedule - as well as the cupcake assortment. Everything looked perfect and tasted amazing. Amanda is an amazing cake designer and also a wonderful baker, which made the perfect combination for our wedding day cake. She worked with us to design a cake that was exactly the way we imagined it, and pulled it off beautifully on the day of. She was easy to work with and friendly. I love the fact that she uses natural ingredients and makes her own extracts. I wish I had been able to have more of the cake, the flavors were so delicious! She did a great job and I highly recommend her to other brides.

Moist cakes, light Italian style buttercreams. Very delicious. The company is run by an artist turned baker, so the cake designs are awesome! She also does full dessert/cake table layouts, with use on rental pedestals and stands. Very cute!

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with our wedding cake from Sweet Fix!!! Let me begin by saying I've never been big on cake. Yet, I couldn't stop eating our wedding cake!!! It was fantastic!!! They offer pretty much any flavor of cake or icing. And... The icing is a soft fluffy buttercream, making the cake not feel very heavy when you're eating it. We had originally tried Sweet Fix, as they are one of the few places around town that can do red velvet on all tiers. However, after trying the other flavors, we ended up with two other flavors for our layers. As far as design, they are very creative. I knew I wanted texture, but I couldn't pin point the exact design I wanted. Amanda threw together some designs and nailed it!!! Our cake was absolutely gorgeous (and delicious!!!) If you want a cake that not only tastes fantastic, but that is unique to you, you've found it!!!

Most brides are worried about the “perfect” gown. But I like to think that I wasn’t the stereotypical bride throughout the process, so I went about the socially imposed “wedding checklist” from a different angle. One of the big points of interest to me was the food, and more importantly, the cake. After all, it’s an intrinsic part to any wedding day, right? I didn’t think twice as far as who I would be seeking out to make our cake for the much-anticipated wedding day. We wanted to keep the cake simple yet classically elegant, complementing the look and feel of the reception while not detracting from the cake itself. I love the fact that SweetFix’s methodology parallels this sentiment. So here we are, a month and a half later, and we still talk about the taste of that cake (*note we had three tiers, each of which had its own distinctive cake/buttercream combination). Oh how moist the crumb was! And how light and flavorful that buttercream was, but most of all, how it was everything we wanted without having to overcomplicate it. We could not have hoped for more spot-on flavors. Amanda is nothing short of genius when it comes to her ability to give you one delicious bite after another. What I myself particularly appreciated, being a fan of the kitchen myself, is that she preserves the integrity of the flavors, ensuring that you and your guests will be eating quality ingredients and flavors that explode in your mouth. As far as I am concerned, this was the first of many more cakes I will order from SweetFix. Thank you, SweetFix, for your passion to deliver amazing cake to the masses…

By the time it came to decision making on the cake I was pretty over being the creative one. I knew I wanted cupcakes and I had a set of liners that went with our theme. She took it from there and it was much better than I could have come up with. She even made me a very small gluten free cake that matched our cupcakes perfectly so that my mother got to see us cut the cake together and I could have some cake too. It was the best gluten free dessert I've ever had. We were married almost two years ago and any time our wedding comes up our guests still rave about the cupcakes! They were fresh, delicious, beautiful, and affordable. I will never use anyone else.

Very creative artist as well as an excellent baker. She suggested the dessert table for my daughters wedding. The theme was two peas in pod . The venue was in front of our river cottage. We only had about 60 quests and it was a second marriage for our daughter. We wanted it very special but not the same old, same old wedding thing. She designed , prepared, and provided all props and setups for the dessert area. We did provide the tent. Her work is outstanding...Cakes and desserts are gourmet quality. Been to so many weddings and the cakes are beautiful but taste like any old cake from a grocery store.
