stings, we actually customize our tastings so that clients can pick and choose their own flavor pairings. We also make our tastings from scratch for each individual client consult as opposed to frozen tastings. Making a single cupcake of 1 flavor takes the same amount of time as making 24 cupcakes of a single flavor, which is why we do charge for additional tastings after our initial consult. Not every couple chooses to do multiple tastings after an initial consult. Since additional tastings are only optional, we do have to charge to cover the time and labor. (Again, they are only optional and the price for additional pick up tastings is clearly listed on our website). In addition, we worked with you through multiple design revisions, all of which were incredibly different in style, shape and color scheme. (not a simple color change as you stated in your review, but an entirely different design). Your first sketch proposal was complimentary (despite the fact that we typically charge for custom sketch proposals). Several months down the road, you decided to go a completely different direction with design, color scheme, layout, etc and requested a new design which I obliged. After following your requests and description, your design continued to change. Unfortunately we do have to account for the time to hand draw sketch proposals and rework designs. In the end, your cake was smaller and completely different than what had been initially proposed, however the price still had to factor in all of the design revisions and the multiple tastings, all of which we discussed and you confirmed throughout the process. I understood at that time that you were frustrated, however we cannot simply sketch up endless designs without factoring in our time and labor. I also understood that you were frustrated after the 2nd and 3rd revision was also not what you had envisioned despite our attempt to follow your feedback word-for-word. It is very rare that we even have to work up a second design proposal for clients, much less 3 or 4 which is why it is so important that a client has a clear vision and color scheme at our initial consultation. Changing your vision and design completely midway does take time on our end. Lastly, my clients pride us in our communications. I make it a personal effort to ensure proper, quick and courteous communications. In the midst of our busiest part of wedding season, I indeed have my assistant (who has been working with Sweet Fix for years) reach out to my clients to confirm any remaining details as I am in the midst of decorating my client's wedding cakes (as one would assume). Lastly, I have record of all of our communications, and neither my staff or I reached out to you "Shortly before your wedding" as you also stated in your review. Our emails continued through June, July, August and September. Our last communication to confirm details was on September 27th for your October 13th wedding (then before that Sept 24th, 10th, 7th, 3rd.... and into August). I would be happy to post our communications if you like. It was a joy being able to bring your cake to life and I apologize greatly for any frustrations that the communications may have caused.
