t was a small scale event due to covid, Rachel and the team perfected every single detail. From the start, Rachel was very fun and personable to chat with. I showed her my pinterest board and she was able to immediately grasp my vision. Again, even though it was a small event, Rachel was so attentive to my requests and dedicated the time to put together a customized color board and all the details for us. They are truly a group of floral experts. Rachel was able to provide her expert opinions to make our vision better than we could imagine. It was so great to meet Rachel and the team in-person on the day of our micro-wedding too. Their floral design made all the difference at our venue and made the day so magical, dreamy and romantic for us. We are so so happy with our decision to choose Sweet Root Village. Thank you!

e ceremony area I couldn't believe my eyes. It was the most gorgeous sight ever, they did such a great job and totally ran with the theme I hoped for. Everything was beyond beautiful. I highly recommend using them!!

The decision maker for us was that I wanted a "chuppah-esque" floral piece in our ceremony space, and within about 10 minutes of talking about what feel our wedding would be and what my style was, they came up with something super unique and gorgeous... and less expensive than the initial idea I had! Despite my champagne taste on a sparkling wine budget (not quite beer!) they made me feel completely valued as a client. My mother is a big flower person, and she could not have been happier with the results. My only regret is that I didn't get to give them huge hugs the day of the wedding as they delivered everything! Tip: Follow them on instagram and check their stories leading up to your event! I loved getting sneak peeks of my flowers and set up! Highly recommend.

h. They had impeccable communication with us throughout, were incredibly responsive and thoroughly answered all of our questions within hours. My partner and I did all of the planning ourselves, and having an extremely responsive vendor meant so much to us in the chaos of wedding planning. The team feels very much like a family-run affair, which we loved when we first met with them in person, when we were deciding on vendors. Other vendors we met with made us feel a bit more like we were one of many on a conveyor belt of events, but SRV made us feel like it was truly a personal experience. We made a few (potentially weird) requests for incorporating certain things into our décor and they executed with aplomb and excitement. We also made a few last minute changes a few weeks before the wedding, and SRV was flexible and happily reorganized some of their plan to accommodate our requests. Be aware that if you live in DC and don’t have a car, their warehouse is a little bit tricky to get to as it’s not accessible by public transportation, but that being said SRV went above and beyond to accommodate us carless folks—picking up vases from us at our apartment in downtown, meeting us at our tasting across town, and just being so nice and considerate to the fact that we were struggling a bit without a car. Tl;dr: amazing communication and attentiveness, personal connection, very flexible, kind and awesome team of ladies to work with. And obviously, gorgeous flowers!

and the SRV made the vision come to life! During our consultation I had no idea how to describe my vision, but the SRV team listened and were able to translate my rough descriptions into the most beautiful sketch to give me an idea of what the arrangements could look like. It was incredible--they just understood! The SRV team asked the right questions and were able to offer recommendations that tied in perfectly with the rest of the wedding day look. There is no way that I could have made the decisions without their help! The team worked within my budget to deliver the most beautiful reception arrangements, flowers for the wedding party, and the showstopper--my bridal bouquet (it had artichokes!). I can’t say enough great things about Sweet Root Village!

seriously and is incredibly passionate about it. We had an in-person meeting where she was very attentive and took excellent notes when I showed her pictures of what I wanted. Lauren and Rachel's passion for what they do came out in their work. My bouquets, alter garland, and dining room turned out more beautifully than I imagined. My wedding was in October 2015 and I had a few unusual color requests such as blue thistles paired with champagne roses, leucadendron for a red accent, succulents, and light orange roses. When I saw the bouquets, boutonnieres, and the BEAUTIFUL garland and flowers draped over the door for the alter, I was floored. Everything turned out more beautifully than I imagine. I also had an unusual request of birch branches with red berries for the dining room. Again, it turned out beautifully and better than I imagined. We booked flowers one year in advance. Lauren was incredibly flexible when I would randomly call and make requests to change things. She was happy to make the changes and also made recommendations when I asked her opinion. She was very prompt in providing a contract and subsequent updated contracts when I made changes. I felt that I received a lot of personalized attention from these two and would absolutely recommend them for your wedding or special event.

these wonderful ladies worked with our budget with a result that exceeded our expectations. Sweet Root Village is a combo Photography, Floral, and Wedding Coordination firm owned by 2 young women. We used them for all three, and they did a spectacular job. I can't recommend them highly enough!

to choose the actual blooms. They did a magnificent job and made my Pinterest ideas come to life. Very happy with their service and would highly recommend them to brides who are lacking in floral knowledge. They will certainly inform you and help you pick the right blooms for you!

set up. It helped me relax quite a bit to have them so on top of things! They were also very responsive during the whole planning process - always timely in responding to emails. Their devotion to local and sustainable flower farms is applaudable and their flowers are of the highest quality and construction. I am so blessed they were a part of my big day. It would not have been as beautiful as it was without their handcrafted and unique bouquets, garlands and assortments. I love Sweet Root!

was looking for someone to make a flower crown for me, and i had already been turned down by a number of florists who said my project wasn't worth their time and effort. (i was on a budget and DIY-ed lots of the other flowers) my consultation was inspiring, and helped me figure out other things for the wedding. the quote process was also super painless, and they were willing to work with my limitations. i actually ended up getting lots more flowers than i anticipated because they were so accommodating and had such great ideas! the whole process was just great, and i can't rave enough about these talented and sweet women!!!!!

r cocktail hour and reception. They came early and set everything up. My mom was THRILLED and still talks about it 7 months later. They came under my expected budget (every dollar saved adds up) and I dind't have to give up anything I wanted. My bouquet lasted 10 days! TEN! There are not enough words to truly capture how happy I was with their work. They are my preferred florist for sure! Lauren and Rachel went out of their way to make my dreams a reality. They are so helpful and kind! Really, if you want a florist who is going to think outside the box and be creative go talk to them! I suggest them to ALL of my friends and many have hired them and been thrilled too. If you want the best, call them NOW!

't getting paid she went above and beyond on our shoot- even buying and preparing and bringing props to make it vintage and to add an edge (our engagement session was WWII themed). Well after that, I entered ANOTHER competition from them, and won free make-up for my wedding day (again- so generous). Sarah Patch made the drive out to my home to "try out" the makeup style on her own expense. She is like Van Gogh with a make-up brush. The day of she was on time- and she made me feel and look more beautiful than I could have ever imagined for my wedding day. AND my makeup didn't run when I cried!!! And lasted until the next day. I hired them for flowers (after how AMAZING they'd been for me). I was very vague giving a very general deion that I wanted "wild flowers" yet "classy" with sunflowers for my bouquet, and even more vague for the boutonnieres. And NO roses! And then, last minute I added on flowers for my cake!!! They not only came through, but exceeded EVERY expectation I had for my flowers. The entire Sweet Root Village staff is kind, understanding, flexible, gracious, and, above all, talented. Even if I hadn't won those free photos and makeup- after seeing what they could do- I would have paid them for it! AND if I ever need photos in the future, I will save up to have them do them. I would trust no one else anymore. If I could have afforded it- they would have planned, decorated, and photographed my entire wedding!!!! Would I recommend this to a friend? Without a doubt!
