Thoroughly do your homework when you are comparing each Florist. Flowers are a perishable & delicate product, I strongly recommend you consider quality before pricing. You diffidently wouldn't want your dream flowers to die half way through your Wedding day, because you booked the "Florist" that gave you the lowest quote. It's no secret that all Florist purchase flowers from the same wholesalers worldwide. Unfortunately not all Florist have the proper refrigeration needed to store your flowers correctly. There are products available to Florist that are used when processing flowers in order to maximize the life of flowers. Because of the costly overhead the products create not all Florist will use them. Be sure you choose a Florist that properly processing & stores your flowers. Before you make a final decisions make sure the Florist that you choose has a good amount of photos of their recent work. Be sure their photos display the designers range of style & level of design skills. Have clear communication with whoever you choose, go over every detail of your wants & needs. There should be no question that your expectations & visions will not only be met but exceeded. Discuss a reasonable budget & different options that are available to maximize that budget. When you and your Florist start discussing the specific type of flowers to use in your designs, focus on staying with then your color scheme while using "seasonal" fresh flowers vs using premium higher priced flowers it will help immensely to maximize your budget. Lastly make sure that the Florist you choose has excellent, authentic reviews online that are from Wedding related past clients. If your potential Florist is not licensed and insured I would be extremely concerned.

wedding. Additionally, she does a good job at tailoring the florals in a way that fits your budget. The show stoppers were the floral arrangement she did for the tree at our ceremony and the bridal party bouquets; both were everything I could have hoped for. A couple things that drove me to only give 4 stars instead of 5: after the initial consultation, working with Sweet Stems seemed very corporate--emails seemed automated/generic (and really hard to read w/the formatting) and there was not much personal communication/check-ins in general as we got closer to the date (very different style than the other vendors we worked with). Also, my one nit with the florals was that the boutonnieres for the men were huge, so much so that we opted to not use them since the consensus was they would look a bit silly. It was unfortunate, but not the end of the world, since as I mentioned, the big florals were stunning.
All in all, I would recommend Sweet Stems as a wedding florist; Sara and team know what they are doing which really takes away some stress from the bride/groom.

Sweet stems was nothing less than amazing to work with. Sarah met with me numerous times and was beyond patient when I decided to change my flowers not once, but twice. Our flowers couldn’t have been any more perfect.

especially my bridal bouquet, were spectacular. I ordered one less boutonniere than I needed, and Sweet Stems quickly made one for our groomsman.
I am rating 3 stars based on two disappointing parts of my experience. While none of these things were a day-of show stoppers, based on the time and effort it takes to plan a wedding, they were certainly a letdown.
1. As you can see on the style board, there was a specific theme we were going for. The colors were oranges and peaches. When I went to go see my cake on the wedding day, there were two giant ugly red flowers on the cake. There were also red flowers in my table arrangements. Nowhere in the proposal did we ever agree upon red, and it totally ruined the look and cohesiveness. While I understand there can be substitutions based on flower availability, Sweet Stems should have picked something within the color palette and not decide to pick a totally new color.
2. Communication. Communication with Sara after the initial meeting is difficult. She can take over a week to get back to you regarding questions and concerns. Her email system also makes it impossible to read her messages. Her email signature is so much bigger than the rest of the body of the email. Emails that come from her system are difficult to read because of the formatting and the length/size of her signature. It was hard to keep track of everything.
Overall, I felt okay with my decision to hire Sweet Stems but the two items outlined above would definitely prevent me from recommending them to someone else.

design I was really looking forward to was tall candelabra floral arrangement and I was disappointed when I saw it. It was mostly greenery wrapped and 5 roses on it. Something I think I could of just done myself and save the money. It did not turn out heavy in florals as consulted (which I included a Pinterest Inso photo too). The petals on the aisle was not as heavy as consulted also. The rest of the vases (6in) arrangements looked fine. The flowers were wilting already by dinner and it could be due to the heat and sun that day. Sara was very generous to include a floral piece for my table seating chart last minute with no charge. I wished there could have been MORE flowers, the arrangements didn't seem as full as I'd wanted. I do think I spent more than the quality received. I am grateful for the service but I did feel let down a bit.

g up to the wedding day or if I wanted to see any examples of florals she's done similar to what I was requesting. I never received a phone call or an email through the entire process. Reaching out to her was nearly impossible as she is extremely untimely with her responses. I gave her the benefit of the doubt that she's just bad with emails but on the actual wedding day, no one came up to me to see if I liked any of the florals or even a congratulations. I can't even say that I met Sara that day as no one introduced themselves to me. Even my other vendors asked me who they were so they could make sure to not recommend them to their other clients. I was shocked we were spending so much money with them yet not one person said a single word to me or my husband.
Secondly, we had 20 pillars at our reception which we agreed would be filled with Italian Ruscus for $1100. The flowers that ended up being put on the pillars were ferns. Not only were they the wrong plant but they were also extremely embarrassingly done. It looked like my 5 year old niece put them up. I reached out to Sara to ask for some kind of compensation to make up for the wrong florals and I have been flat out ignored. A month has gone by with no response yet. I would really stay away from them as they clearly don't show to care very much about their clients. I really have been so disappointed with how they have handled everything.
