Had an amazing experience with catering their food for our wedding! Guests were raving about the food after. High quality! They were also extremely communicative and helpful throughout the entire planning process. Highly recommend!!!

Amazing staff, great service, and DELICIOUS food! Our wedding guests gave so many compliments on the amazing plated dinner we received from Tall Guy. Leading up to the event, the Tall Guy staff couldn't have been more helpful, communicative, and reliable. I want to shout out Sophie in particular for helping us through a few road blocks and overall being an amazing communicator. I would absolutely recommend Tall Guy to anyone!

We loved Tall Guy and a Grill! They were so easy to work with, and the food and drinks were fantastic! We even had a couple who had gluten and vegan dietary choices and even though that wasn't an available option from our menu, Tall guy created a special meal just for those two! It meant a lot how seriously they took the allergies of all our guests, making sure to leave off any nuts for people with nut allergies, and they made sure to serve the bride and groom first so we had time to go around and say hi to everyone while they were still seated for dinner. Brit was great to work with and very fun during the cocktail tasting. I loved how much they cared about sustainability and they were so familiar with the Urban Ecology Center that they were able to come right in without any help. I would definitely recommend them for your catering and bar. We wouldn't change a thing about the food and drinks at our wedding - it was perfect!

The Tall Guy team was phenomenal!! They were responsive, friendly, helpful, and their food was SO TASTY! We had so much fun at our tasting and were even invited to a group tasting event to try new menu options. They made sure we had a plate of hors d'oeuvres to taste before our grand entrance and put our plates together for us at the buffet. The team the day of were so kind to all our guests and everyone raved about the food. One of the best parts of their service is that they make the food on site. Fresh and delicious!

Tall Guy and a Grill was great at our wedding at the Atrium! Couldn’t recommend their team enough!! We did family style for our reception and everything was efficient and so well organized! Guests were full and raved about the food, especially the short ribs! Communication with the team was fantastic and done in such a timely manner. They were very accommodating to our requests and to guests allergies/dietary restrictions.

Tall Guy and Grill Catering was excellent! The food was delicious throughout our night! My wife is vegetarian and dairy free and I’m a vegetarian as well (w/ peanut and tree nut allergies), so there were lots of accommodations that they made for us w/o any difficulty at all. They have a huge menu and it all sounded so delicious and they were very helpful w/ picking out food based on our vision for the day. Since my wife and I both don’t eat meat it was important for us to have a caterer for whom the vegan/vegetarian options are delicious and well-crafted as opposed to after-thought and the food didn’t disappoint. (We also offered meat options for our guests and by all accounts these were excellent and delicious as well). We will be highly recommending them going forward to any and all who will listen!

We had our wedding 9/29/23 at The Starling with Tall Guy and a Grill Catering. ALL OF THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! The service was well done as well with kind staff, timing and overall atmosphere. I'm still completely mesmerized about how incredible the food was for our wedding! Tall Guy & a Grill left no doubt, they absolutely nailed it! The most incredible part was that our guest list was 240+ and from the parents table, to the wedding party, to the guests in the cheap seats, lol...everyone's meal was consistently fantastic! We selected a package that had passed appetizers and a sit down dinner and it was hard to pick a favorite since they were all good! From start to finish, the experience working with Tall Guy was top notch! Their communication was timely, the process of ordering linens was super easy and the service at the wedding was fast & friendly. Our guests are still raving about every aspect of their experience. They will be my go to caterer for every event moving forward. A+++

We had Tall Guy as our caterer for our wedding and got tons of compliments on how great the food was. They made it easy by also coordinating linens for us as well as produced some signage for us too. We used Tall Guy and a Grill for our wedding on 7/31 and honestly it was the best decision we could have made. We worked with Brit all throughout the process and she was absolutely wonderful. She was so attentive to detail, quick to respond, and gave us great recommendations. Our guests loved the food and especially the appetizers (the corn brulee and chicken and waffle skewers especially!). Having them as part of our day was a highlight and I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a caterer in the Milwaukee area. The food and service was impeccable. We did a family style dinner, and they were able to accommodate all of our special dish requests. The team was so organized leading up the big day, and helped us stay on top of any deadlines. All our guests were so pleased with their meals.

Holy hell when I tell you I had almost every one of my 130 guests tell me how amazing the food was at our wedding - I mean it!!!! From the planning experience with Brit, to the amazing Tall Guy team who brought the plan to life the day of our wedding, it was an amazing experience. I cannot recommend them enough. Tall Guy catered our wedding at VistaMKE on 4/22/22, we couldn’t be happier with the way the food turned out! The petite filet & rainbow trout with charred corn risotto and roasted vegetables was fantastic, all our guests were complementing the food! Thank you for great service and being really responsive in a time where it is really hard to connect with vendors!

As a “foodie” couple, our wedding dinner was one of the most important aspects of our day. We wanted wedding food that did not taste like wedding food, and that is exactly what we got. Tall Guy and a Grill presented us with food that was flavorful and beautiful. The staff was extremely kind and professional. They even made our dreams of having a pickle bar come true. They go above and beyond for their clients. Weeks later we still have guests telling us they are craving that trout and butter aioli dish.

Tall Guy and a Grill was super helpful throughout the process, with multiple tastings to make sure our menu for our special day was just right. With all the reviews, and how the food tasted we were so excited for our day to come and sadly were met with a lot of disappointment. The appetizers were great, nothing to complain about there, but the dinner was cold, the only thing that wasn't was the potatoes. Along with that, dessert was set up at the same time as dinner even though it was discussed when it was supposed to be put out. It was a shame hearing from our guests that food was cold, especially because we had such high hopes for them.

Tall Guy was amazing!! Our photographers made a point to tell us that our wedding food was the best food they had ever eaten out of over 600 weddings. We chose to do dinner stations, and it worked out beautifully. No one was left hungry, people had three different choices, and all of the food was hot and delicious. Sustainability was a big part of our wedding, and TG is way ahead of the curve. From fully compostable serve ware, to being Milkwaukee's only Green Certified caterer, I was amazed at all TG does to stay green. Tall Guy was also great at handling allergies, and made sure that everyone was taken care of. So happy we found Tall Guy, thanks for everything!!

We cannot understate how important good food was to us at our wedding, and Tall Guy delivered!! We loved that they use local ingredients so we could feature Wisconsin foods to our many out-of-town guests. On the day of, everything was delicious! We received SO many compliments about how outstanding the food was. The service throughout cocktail hour and our plated dinner was just as excellent. We had researched quite a few caterers and scheduled tastings with just three vendors to start. One was our “cheap” option, one considered a Milwaukee staple well know for catering events and then Tall Guy. We live in West Allis and we’re familiar with them. We’ve gotten a few of their pre ordered holiday meals as well as a few times having them catered at work (pre COVID). Going into it, I think we both favored Tall Guy but let me tell you, they far exceeded our already gleaming view of them. The tasting experience was wonderful. Brit was awesome. She let me go back and forth a few times on a few small details and it was not a big deal to her. She was so accommodating! She took all the pressure off me leading up to the wedding. Everything was planned out so perfectly, even when COVID threw some changes our way. Now, let me get to the most important part : the food!!! I think we’ve all had many weddings with chicken and beef as the main entrees, but I’ll tell you, so many people came up to me during the reception and even days after that the Smoked BBQ Chicken quarter was THE BEST chicken they’d ever had. Not just for wedding food, but ever. I couldn’t agree more. It was even better than I remember during the tasting. Juicy, fall off the bone chicken *chefs kiss*. The petite filet was delicious as well, but it came in behind the chicken based on guest feedback. Either way, we were so so SO happy with Tall Guys service and food and everything in between. They even gifted us a bottle of their delicious BBQ sauce. Run, don’t walk, to book them!

We are SO glad we chose Tall Guy and a Grill as our wedding caterer! Brit was phenomenal to work with – she was always incredibly responsive, helpful, and kind. The food was absolutely delicious – from the appetizers and main courses to the desserts and late-night mac & cheese bar, we were getting compliments from our guests all night long! I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Tall Guy. From our tasting to our wedding day, the team made us feel so cared for and valued - I cannot recommend them enough. The menu options are absolutely incredible, and the time taken to craft the perfect menu, with personalized options and creative and delicious choices beyond the usual "chicken or steak" options, adds such a special touch to the wedding. We were also so excited about Tall Guy's "farm to table" mentality, and their seasonal choices to support local Wisconsin farmers. With lots of out of town guests, that "taste of Wisconsin" was so important to us. Our point of contact, Alissa, was beyond patient and wonderful. From an easy to read invoice, to a prompt response on questions, it was really easy to know exactly what you were getting and track every change. Alissa was incredible when our event downsized due to COVID-19, and the team worked with us to re-schedule our original April 2020 event with kindness and compassion, which were so valued. On the day of our wedding, the food was outstanding, and the entire staff working the event were professional, kind and accommodating. From grabbing my bouquet and putting it in water for me, to making sure that my husband and I got fed during our cocktail hour, the team was so warm and kind. During dinner, the team handled every transition with ease, and helped to make sure the whole thing ran so smoothly. Our guests were wow'ed by the food. I don't think anyone expects the food at weddings to be THAT good, but Tall Guy really makes you feel like you're eating at a 5 star restaurant. We also worked with Tall Guy for our bartending, and the custom cocktails were perfectly executed. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about our very professional and lovely bartender, and she made sure that the drinks were flowing with ease and such a professional demeanor. If you're looking for catering that really takes it up a notch, Tall Guy should absolutely be your go to. They are the best at what they do, and I would hire them a thousand times over for my wedding. Thank you, Team Tall Guy!!!

Alissa was amazing helping plan our wedding! Even through postponing due to Covid she was there with any question we had, last minute specialty meal requests, we knew that we did not have to spend any time worrying about our menu it was taken care of. Tall Guy is just absolutely fantastic!!!

Tall Guy & a Grill was fantastic all around. They were extremely flexible and accommodating to the ever changing COVID restrictions. We had the pleasure of working with both Alissa and Brit at various points throughout the process of whom were both attentive, receptive and friendly. At no point throughout the process did I ever doubt that Tall Guy had things handled. Our guests raved about the food and many noticed their impeccable service throughout the event. I would highly recommend them to anyone. We will even be sure to continue supporting them by their take out meals and events in the future.

We love everything about Tall Guy and a Grill Catering! We were drawn to them because of their locally sourced farm-to-table style. Good catered food is hard to find, but they definitely have it down. The staff was very responsive during the planning process and was accommodating to our changing needs during COVID. We had to change venues close to our wedding date and they were so helpful in making the process seamless...they even took time to tour our new venue to make sure that they provided us the best possible service day of! We highly recommend Tall Guy!

Planning a wedding through COVID was no easy task, but Alissa was so eager and able to help after every change and update. We ended up changing our entire menu and went from a buffet to plated dinner for our tiny reception and we couldn't have been happier. Our guests raved that it was the best wedding food they had ever had, and coursed dinner looked stunning. They even jumped in and went above and beyond when it came to cleaning up the venue. Thank you Alissa and team!!!!

The food was delicious and the service staff was generally hard working and eager to please. There were some very well thought out and yummy appetizer and special diet details that had clearly been designed in response to our unique tastes and requests. That was appreciated. Glitches are to be expected at any wedding and ours was no exception. But Tall Guy stood out in refusing to correct some issues that were foreseeable, preventable, and even fixable after the fact. A partial list of the disappointments:: Owner Dan insisted that “the city” should be responsible for removing the remaining catering mess (even though there is no such service available at the venue’s rural location and should have been handled by his staff per the contract. This was especially awkward and embarrassing because we held the event at someone else’s home. After a week of waiting for Dan to follow through, we finally had to hire someone to come clean up and haul away his mess. When I objected to our event being used as a photo shoot for Tall Guy’s new marketing campaign without notice or permission from us or the home owners, he told me that I don’t understand how social media works and that he has over 30 staff people and can’t know what they are all up to. Ultimately he did direct his people to make edits, which were completed quickly. When his staff failed (refused after multiple requests, really) to serve the wedding cake his justification was that the original contract that I signed to secure the date didn’t include those details. I’m not sure why it wasn’t included from the start, but in any case all of the subsequent versions created and shared by his staff that did include serving the wedding cake. Tall Guy staff asked multiple times if it was ok to use disposable serveware as back up if we ran out of rentals. Of course I agreed to be flexible if need be, and of course I made sure that our rental order was adequate. What I didn’t realize at the time was that they had a preference for using disposable serveware. Crates of unused and dirty plates and dishware were left to block entrances rather than carried to the designated storage area. They also left the rentals in poor condition. It’s well understood in the industry that catering staff should scrape excess food and return to their containers. Thank goodness the rental company was gracious and generous in not charging us for the extra time it took them to clean them. The original banquet manager left the company (though is still featured on their website, almost a year later). It seems that the service staff that remain aren’t getting the time, training, and support they need to execute on event plans. We would have been willing to pay more if that was the issue, but it seemed that they weren’t even prepared enough to realize that they were under resourced. They arrived too late to set up according to our agreed upon plans and left with such haste that some guests compared it to a military evacuation. I was reluctant to post a negative review but hope that in doing so I might help someone else avoid a similar ordeal. It’s really easy to forgive mistakes that happen in the midst of a complex event if you are offered a simple “sorry.” But Dan didn’t seem to have any interest in understanding what went wrong or making even a small effort to make things right.

Tall Guy and a Grill was absolutely amazing! Everything looked and tasted phenomenal from the cheese stations that were set up during cocktail hour, and the passed appetizers during cocktail hour. Everyone raved about the food especially the chicken and waffles appetizer! You cant go wrong with Tall Guy!

Are you a foodie? Do you appreciate food that not only looks beautiful but also tastes delicious? Tall Guy and a Grill is the answer. The Milwaukee Caterer scene is changing rapidly. We have a lot of well known caterers who have been around forever but have failed to update their menu offerings. We also have a lot of brand new names that have off the wall offerings but very little reputation. Tall guy is the best of both. They're well established, know their stuff, and clearly have a passion for food. Elyse and Nina were our main contacts and they were amazing. Your guests notice when servers aren't happy. Tall Guy hires servers and staff who seem like genuinely happy people and friendly people. They also have a lot of extra things they can offer you. They did all of our tables and linens which helped a lot! They even picked up our dessert from Grebe's! They take your peace of mind as the bride and groom very seriously. Book a tasting, you won't regret it.

Hands down the best ever. They are truly professionals at every level. The tasting was a nice intimate afternoon and they even let us come back to try something else when we changed out minds. They worked hard to marry my husband's and my taste together while keeping with out casual party theme. They kept us on track with payments and final details which was so helpful. The staff was professional and attentive at the party as well. I loved that they offered compostable plates & silverware instead of disposable. The best part of the evening was that they put some appetizers at my husband's and my seat- because they knew we didn't have time to snack before dinner. Loved it!

We decided to work with Tall Guy and a Grill to cater our rehearsal dinner. They were extremely helpful when creating a menu that will work with vegan and non vegan eaters. The food was delicious. The staff delivered the food to our rehearsal venue and set everything up. It made the night go smoothly and the food was great!

The food at our wedding was delicious but this is not the reason for the 5 stars. The staff was absolutely incredible to work with. This includes pre wedding communication as well as day of! The servers took excellent care of all of our guests especially bride and groom. When we got to our head table they had a plate from the cocktail hour waiting on us as they knew we may not get to it. They had food out promptly and were just overall so pleasant!

We are so thrilled that we chose Tall Guy & a Grill for our wedding day! They were incredible to work with. The catering manager we were working with ended up switching jobs during our planning process, and we were so impressed with how seamless the transition was and how Tall Guy didn't miss a beat during the turnover in staff. They were so great about communicating with us and keeping us in the loop during the change, and they did not miss a single detail. Tall Guy was super responsive to our emails and questions. And most importantly, the food was awesome! We had a buffet and loved the set up, and were so impressed that they even handled the set up of our dessert table and made everything look so cute. Their presentation and display went way above and beyond what we had expected for our buffet. I'd recommend them to anyone!

Tall Guy was great to work with! From our first contact with them through our wedding day, they were responsive and professional. They tailored our menu to our requests and delivered on every promise. The food was delicious, too!

Nina and the Tall guy team were amazing!!! Wedding food isn't always the greatest, but Tall Guy killed it. Most of our guests were not from the Midwest, and we really loved that they sourced from local farmers, focusing on food that screams Wisconsin. We did buffet service and they served our kings table family style without hesitation, it really allowed us to eat and mingle when everyone had their food. We did a late night popcorn bar, but option to do! They had the cutest popcorn boxes, which made it really easy for me to dance and snack away! The last week before the wedding we had a few modifications to table sizes and counts, Nina really dealt with our stress in the best way possible. Than you guys so much for making our day amazing. They are also LGBTQ friendly!

We hired Tall Guy to cater our wedding rehearsal, as well as lunch on our wedding day. Simply put, they're top notch. Our vision for our rehearsal dinner was a casual wine bar/charcuterie theme and wow, was it amazing! Dan and his team are so creative and everyone raved about the food. For lunch the day of, they assembled a build-your-own sandwich bar and our wedding party devoured it! If you're looking for a great experienced local caterer who will keep you well fed for your wedding, Tall Guy is it!

Delicious food! We had a brisket carving station and it was melt in your mouth good. The gnocchi Mac and cheese was divine and definitely helped to soak up the beverages being had! The staff was on time, well prepared and efficient. Dinner promptly started according to our timeline. We had a buffet option for approx 110 guests and it went so smoothly. Definitely recommend!

We had guests tell us that this is the best wedding food they've ever had, and we couldn't agree more! TG&AG were so wonderful to work with, every step of the way. Great communication, and just genuinely kind staff. The food is DELICIOUS and very affordable!

My husband and I are so extremely glad we chose to go with Tall Guy and a Grill as our wedding caterer. Even though they were a little over our price range (we had a tight budget), they were worth every penny! I cannot express how many compliments we got on not only the food but all the staff that helped at our big day. Everyone was served quickly and efficiently with our buffet and when our timeline didn't go as planned, Nina checked in with us to see if anything regarding dinner needed to be adjusted. We also had some guests with dietary restrictions and the staff were not only willing to work with them but made sure they had everything they needed and wanted for dinner. The only bad thing is, as we attend other weddings in the future, it will be hard for the food/catering staff to meet the extremely high standard Tall Guy has set! We will be recommending them to all of our friends and family!

I am so very thrilled to have worked with Tall Guy and a Grill for my wedding. Obviously the food was amazing so I don't even need to get into details on that. I want to really drive home the fantastic, stellar, top notch, personalized service I received. I believe that without that, nothing else matters and Dan and Nina and the rest of their staff provided it from the initial inquiry to the final goodbye after the cake was gone and they were sure I was completely taken care of. It's not very often anymore that you can find a place to do all of that, with food that EVERYONE raved about and continues to rave about. But they do. We are so glad to have Tall Guy and a Grill cater our wedding -- they were truly phenomenal. It was a buffet because we wanted the meal to be something that was very "us" (gourmet tacos), but we did do a very traditional cocktail hour with passed apps. Nina was a joy to work with, and everyone raved about the food options and how smoothly the pacing of the meal went. We can’t recommend them enough!

My husband and I had Tall Guy and A Grill cater our wedding and everything was amazing from their initial tasting to the stellar service at our wedding. For our initial tasting, they had a small table for two set up for us in their Wauwatosa location. We tried 5 meat, 3 starch, 3 veggie, and two salad options. Each was so delicious and it was hard to choose! They are very accommodating to any "Theme" or types of food you're looking for. Our wedding was on cinco de mayo so they very willingly made us chips, a few different salsas, and guacamole for our hors d'oeuvres. Their spaghetti and meatballs were so good that we decided to have it at our wedding, even with my white dress . The day of our wedding, they made sure we ate our meal, took our whole head tables' drink orders, and had a small plate of our appetizers at our seat so we could enjoy some chips and salsa! People complimented the food for days after our wedding. Veronica always promptly responded to all of my emails, which made my planning flow smoothly. We HIGHLY recommend Tall Guy and a Grill for every event!!

Tall Guy just did our wedding at South Shore Pavilion. They did an excellent job. We were told by several people it was the best wedding food they ever had. I thought the food was incredible. We did the stations with tenderloin, char grill chicken and mashed potato bar. The food at the wedding was even better then the tasting. I didn't think that was possible. Veronica did a great job executed the whole night. Everything from table tear down, to bartending, to service went so well. We will be using them again for future catering needs and highly recommend them.
