My husband and I recently got married here and it was absolutely the best venue! We were so so so happy with our decision. It was definitely less expensive in comparison to some of the other venues in the area.
Brittney was amazing to work with! She was so responsive and friendly! When she was out, Christy was there to help us out who was also amazing! Seriously the best team!
The view is breathtaking both inside and outside. Our guests were all in shock and still talk about it months later! While the grass area seems small, we were able to comfortably fit over 100 guests. Don’t underestimate it! Also I’m still obsessed with the interior!!!! It’s so worth checking out at the very least!
The food was amazingggg!!! Our guests also can’t stop talking about this! They’ve all said this was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. I have celiacs and they were very accommodating. They also have a bunch of vegetarian options. You get to try a lot of options at the food tasting which was very helpful! I promise you that you won’t go wrong with the broccoli!!! Everyone went wild about it! There’s not a single person who hasn’t talked about it, even the people who aren’t big veggie people were obsessed! Also the chicken was phenomenal!
It’s not far from downtown Reno. We stayed at the GSR and rented charter busses for all of our guests and it worked out perfect! It’s not a super windy road, but definitely half way up the mountain. We were probably in the busses for 20 minutes tops.
Seriously the best place to get married! Out of all the spots we talked to and considered all over California, Oregon, and Washington this was the best option at least for us and definitely the most friendly we’ve talked to.
I had my wedding here February 2024 and it was such a good decision. The pricing during wedding season is reasonable, but the off-season which is what we had is extremely reasonable. The venue manager and event coordinator are SO nice and they made everything so easy. They provide you with timelines, lay outs, menus, etc and you get to pick how you want things. If there is something that you want to add or want changed from the original plan, they will accommodate your wish to the best of their abilities. The venue is stunning with a rustic, alpine feel inside and beautiful views outside for pictures. They partner with Roundabout catering and the food is delicious. Perfect size for about 80-100 (we had 68 and there was plenty of room). They provide linens and have an extensive list of preferred rental companies if you are looking to to add anything to your experience. I would definitely recommend this venue if this sounds like something you would enjoy!
Thank you Tannenbaum for saving my wedding day!!! After TWO failed venues, I found and reached out to Tannenbaum 4 months before my date. Thankfully, they had just had a cancellation on my date due to the couple postponing to the following year. From that day on, Christy was so helpful and responsive with any help I needed or questions. With my venue changing so close to the wedding, there was a lot of re-work I needed to do in planning and she was there for any questions or guidance I needed. Come wedding day, my venue was everything I could have imagined and more. The staff was all amazing, food AMAZING, bar was perfect, views were stunning. I am so grateful to have found them and had my wedding there!! All my guests had nothing but amazing feedback as well. Thank you so much!!!
Tannenbaum was the first venue we saw and we immediately fell in love. The view, the location, the atmosphere, what they offer when you sign, and the staff was amazing. Over the course of planning whenever I had questions they were so kind to answer them and were really accommodating to a lot of my request. I dont have a single bad thing to say about Tannenbaum and I would recommend this venue to anyone. Christy was a delight to work with and her and the whole team know how to pull together a wedding so beautifully. The catering through RoundAbout was to die for, melt in your mouth and was well worth the money. Our guest were talking about it a week after the wedding. The bartenders were really experienced and knew what they were doing.
Thank you to Tannenbaum for providing us the best venue in the Reno-Tahoe area and making our day truly special.
Finding a venue that was the perfect blend of modern yet rustic, while also being small enough to not feel tiny with only 40 guests was a bit of a challenge - but Tannenbaum turned out to be the perfect place. The food from RoundAbout catering was FANTASTIC, the venue staff (shoutout to Christy and Brittany) were amazing and the day was absolutely perfect!
We had our ceremony outside and the reception inside. Planning from out of state with Christy required lots of back and forth with questions, as we didn't do an initial walkthrough in person - but she was quick to get back to us on anything that we asked. It was a great experience that I would 100% do all over again!
Beautiful venue at a reasonable price!! We were so excited to find Tannenbaum - it was very important to us to have a venue in the mountains and this place was perfect. The Tannenbaum team was a pleasure to work with and everything went super smoothly the day of. We cannot recommend them enough!
Amazing wedding venue and wonderful experience!
Due to covid restrictions in CA, my husband and I had to move our wedding to NV two months out from our date. We had found Tannenbaum through a friend's recommendation, and couldn't have found a better Plan B! Throughout the incredibly short planning window that we had, the Tannenbaum staff was knowledgeable, professional and quick to move so that everything could get organized in time.
Things we loved about Tannenbaum:
That view! Our guests were blown away with the vista, and our ceremony pictures are ridiculously amazing!
The food! As a foodie myself, I appreciate a pretty and delicious plate, and Tannenbaum delivered on both counts!
The reception hall! Being late May, it was too cold to have our reception outdoors, (but there were fire pits and heat lamps on the deck) and the hall is stunning with large windows, a beautiful ceiling and the coolest fireplace.
After it was all over, my husband and I said that our Plan B at Tannenbaum turned out even better than we could've imagined our Plan A turning out! So happy!
Tannenbaum was everything we could have wished for and more! It’s a stunning location, the staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful and Christy was wonderful to work with. We also can’t say enough about our day of coordinator, Brittany. She was on top of everything and just all around incredible. We loved her so much. I would recommend Tannenbaum to everyone getting married in the Reno/Tahoe area!!
Me and my husband had to change venues three months prior to our wedding date due to Covid reasons! We ended up finding tannenbaum and moving our wedding to their event center. It was the best decision we have ever made! They were absolutely fantastic. Christy was our wedding planner and helped us with every detail. She was very punctual, and very easy to work with. She answered all my questions in a timely matter and was able to make our day absolutely perfect and more special than we could have ever dreamed. We are so happy with their service! The food was amazing, and the event turned out beautiful. We couldn’t be more happy!
Tannenbaum is a fantastic venue for a wedding or any event. Christy and her crew were professional and made my daughters dream wedding a reality with only a 1 month lead time. Covid cancellations lead us to Tannenbaum but we wondered why we hadn’t chose them in the first place. Service, amenities, view all were perfect. Truly a full service venue. Christy had great recommendations that added to the day! The huge LOVE sign, cucumber Pim drinks and perfect service all added to the dream wedding! Tannenbaum is a special place! Thank you Christy and crew!
The first thing any couple thinking about using this venue needs to understand is that Christy McDougal is an amazing event coordinator and will do everything in her power to ensure your wedding is a huge success which lets face it in 2020 is by no means a guarantee. She made sure to keep in constant communication with us regarding the latest updates from both the county and state health officials.
Now when you are looking at this venue the first thing you will notice is the amazing views and natural beauty of the venue. If this venue makes this your short of final locations you will be amazed at the price. For the majestic views the price is a bargain compared to many venues. From there working with Christy McDougal made planning the wedding as easy possible as she will work with you on seating arrangements, silverware options, linens for the tables, the wedding arch and other small details. The venue also worked with us to run our rehearsal the day before our wedding.
Now on the day of the wedding the the venue was able to adjust the wedding from an outdoor reception to an indoor reception on the fly due to smoke from California wildfires. The food was outstanding. While the Tri Tip was great I do want to take a second and give a shout out to the Salmon. I do not normally eat fish but the Salmon was very good. I also had friends and family after the wedding rave about the food options.
In short a great venue, with a great staff, for a good price.
I’m very sad to write this review but my husband and I were due to get married at Tannenbaum in June 2020. I am not somebody to write negative reviews unless I absolutely have to but I think that this is worth reading from a bride’s standpoint.
The Tannenbaum staff was awesome from the time that we booked up until a few months before we had to reschedule/cancel our wedding. Due to COVID-19, we had to think about rescheduling our event because we had invited over 120 guests. First, they did not want us to postpone but they kept it in our hands. It wasn’t until I had several of my vendors contact me about the fact that we were the largest wedding to still happen in June at the time. When we consulted with the venue manager, she informed us that Tannenbaum would have to charge us the 2021 prices if we chose to postpone our wedding until 2021. Now, they did offer us to be able to reschedule for another 2020 date. However, we were coming from Sacramento and we had family traveling all over California, not to mention that I am a teacher so getting married in the middle of the school year just isn’t realistic. While I appreciated them offering 2020 dates, I let the venue manager know that it would not work out for us to get married on any of the available dates for 2020 not to mention the snow season (realistically we knew that with Covid going on it was unlikely that we would be able to host that many people in 2020).
When I found out that they would have to charge us 2021 prices to postpone our wedding, I was pretty upset because obviously with Covid going on there’s a lot out of our hands so I was hoping that the venue would accommodate us the following year. I was able to talk to the owner of Tannenbaum and unfortunately, she was unable to secure our price per person, our deposit for next year, and our site fee for the next year. This meant that we would have to pay the difference in all of those price points that we we secured in 2020. We completely understand that she has a business to attend to and she needs to keep the doors open, however, it was super upsetting to my husband and I that she seemed very non-empathetic to our situation and could not work with us to keep our site fee the same as 2020, the deposit the same, or the price per person.
We loved Tannenbaum because of how beautiful it was and it was super affordable for where it is located, but because of how they acted during a worldwide pandemic to their clients, we decided to cancel. Even when we emailed in order to receive our deposit back, they were very cold with their response and did not offer us good luck or that they were sorry that it did not work out,
they simply asked for a mailing address and that was it.
My reasoning for posting this review is to let other brides know how they treated us just two months before our wedding. I truly Believe that it speaks volumes about a business to see how they treat their clients during a time where little is in our control.
Amazing venue with great views and the staff is amazing! They were so good at visualizing my dream and dealing with last minute details.
When we started our search for a wedding venue, we were not expecting to fall in love with Tannenbaum - but were so happy we chose to have our wedding reception there! Our guests were blown away by the stunning view, and the lawn, deck, and interior gave us plenty of space to build a memorable experience for our guests. Christy was fantastic to work with, excitedly joining in with our planner to brainstorm ideas and offered up a surprising amount of furniture and accessories all included. She was open for anything, even running with our plan to build out a retro arcade room inside as an after dinner surprise for our guests!
Beyond the great venue, we loved working with Tannenbaum's food vendor, Roundabout Catering, for our food selection. Our guests raved about the food being some of the best they've had at a wedding. We highly recommend the sushi, tandoori, and s'mores food stations; our guests loved them! We also adored the bartender that Christy lined up for us. He blew our guests away with his skill and attention to detail, preparing custom craft cocktails to fit their personal tastes which was perfect for our prohibition era theme for the first half of our reception.
We'd highly recommend Tannenbaum and Roundabout for any wedding near Tahoe or Reno!
We had a New Year's Eve 1920s themed wedding at Tannenbaum Events Center. Our wedding was more than we could imagine of having. The venue location and views were out of this world. I would do this day over and over again and change nothing about it. Julie and claire thank you so much for making our dreams come true!!!
We just had our wedding in May and I couldn't imagine a better place to have our held our special day! Thanks to this beautiful venue I saw my dream come to true. We got to have our outdoor ceremony with the breath taking view. The day went perfectly thanks to the staff. I worked with Julie mostly and she was amazing. I do not have one complaint and cherish the day. This place is amazing and beautiful.
Everything about the Tannenbaum was fantastic. Claire and Julie were very helpful and very quick to respond to my calls and emails, which is huge for me. The venue is breathtaking and everyone does their best to make each guest feel welcome and cared for. I was attending a wedding at the Tannenbaum months before I was even engaged, and I looked at my then-boyfriend, now-husband, and said "I want to get married here."
About a year and a half later, my dream came true and I was married at the Tannenbaum. I wouldn't change a thing about it, and I'm so thankful I got married here.
I had my wedding at Tannenbaum in October and it was amazing and perfect for the intimate wedding we had. Julie and Claire were amazing! With it being a destination wedding we had to plan everything via phone and email, I had never even seen the venue until the rehearsal, but everything was perfect! We used the onsite caterer, and the food was phenomenal; I was shocked at how reasonable the price was and how delicious our food was (once again we didn't get a trial run--all long distance planning). Tannenbaum has gorgeous views, and an amazing reception area, I truly cannot describe how perfect my wedding was at Tannenbaum and how great Julie and Claire both were. I couldn't have dreamed of a better venue!
Absolutely amazing venue! The view is incredible, Julie and staff were such a huge help, and our wedding was perfect!
Tannenbaum is a beautiful location. There were some issues that only a Mother of the bride would have problems with, which made our wedding difficult and less fun. First...we had been planning on decorating the night before wedding, Julie informed me the tables (for signing book, memory table etc) would not be set up until around 9 a.m. That created a time crunch for us, so when we came back before the ceremony (because our morning was booked with hair & makeup appointments) I was very rushed and panicked. The night before, instead of setting up...I was picking up ..garbage. Cigarette butts, bottle caps etc in the rock way leading to the back I actually found a big box in the bushes and filled that up with litter. I had to track down Julie a few times during the ceremony , once...was for after the cake cutting, all the desserts were gone. I knew we had more...so I had to find Julie so she could bring them out. Our guests thought we *ran out* which was not cool. When we first made the deposit, she made it seem like she would be really more hands on... I didn't enjoy having to look for her, to get lights turned on, etc. It definitely made a lot of work for this MOB and less time to enjoy my dd's wedding. But...the positive is...it is simply beautiful. They will handle all the rentals, etc. It is a bit cramped if you go over 160 people...and the portable dance floor is very small. It is still the best venue, Best value in the Tahoe/Reno area. If I was to do it again, the above issues could be corrected easily if they were known to be issues. That's the only reason I mentioned them.
My daughter just had her wedding at Tannanbaum this past weekend. It was a long search for the perfect place. When we met with Julie the bride and groom decided this was the place. She was so helpful and accommodating. They felt so at home there. Everywhere else we looked you felt like a number and the wedding was to be hurry and get out. She was there for us every step of the way right up to the I Do's.
Tannanbaum is a beautiful spot for a wedding. The room is large with a kitchen attached, big entry, lovely back lawn area, a deck and a wonderful fireplace and the best views.
We had hoped for a bit of snow for this winter wedding and we got it. So magical!
Thank you Julie for everything!
This place is pure perfection! I grew up in Truckee and always imagined getting married on the lake, but realized quickly that that was way out of my budget. The Tannenbaum was one of my last choices (I hadn't been there in over 10 years). After talking to Julie, I set up an appointment and saw the venue. I was shocked! She has made so many improvements...it looks like a completely different place. I immediately knew that the Tannenbaum is where I wanted my dream wedding to take place. Julie was sweet and helpful from day one. She went above and beyond expectations and was quick to respond to my many questions. All of her hard work showed on my wedding day. It was more perfect than I ever imagined. I HIGHLY recommend the Tannenbaum. Not only is the view spectacular, and the venue stunning, but Julie is such a kindhearted and helpful person. I felt comfortable working with her from day one. My big day could not have been more perfect. P.S. if you get married here, talk to Julie about renting white carpet...100% worth it!
My family and friends have not stopped raving about what a beautiful reception we had at the Tannenbaum. Julie Nobis and her recommended vendors did an outstanding job with every detail! The room took my breath away the second my new husband and I entered. The beautiful twilight view with candlelight glowing on the gorgeous farm tables. The fireplace is a wonderful spot for family photos. The food, flowers, music, cupcakes, and service were outstanding. I can't say enough! If you are considering a Tahoe wedding this is the place to have it!
My first impression of the Tannenbaum was how beautiful it was. My second was how easy planning a wedding there would be. In addition to their newly offered bar services they had a fantastic on-site caterer who custom created my menu. I had a fairly specific vision in mind for my menu and their caterer did a fabulous job of taking my idea and executing it perfectly. Because I live out of town Tannenbaum's staff really helped keep me on track and took care of all the little details.
I was initially a little hesitant to book with Tannenbaum as I had read some of the more negative reviews on here. However, upon the meeting the new owner, Julie, I was reassured their policies had changed a lot for the better. Tannenbaum is a beautiful venue with an extremely helpful staff that went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had the best day possible. My only regret in the whole thing is that I can't do it again!
Seemed expensive, but really a great price considering we married on Labor Day Weekend. They gave us a military discount (thank you).
Beautiful setting - I remember when it was the old Christmas Tree restaurant. Great indoor and outdoor space.
Most of the staff we worked with was incredibly helpful and friendly.
Dealt with a few problems with pricing and our rentals - took some sassing to get it fixed, but all ended well.
First and foremost my ceremony and reception turned out beautifully at the Tannenbaum. We had about 130 guests and I felt like the venue was the perfect size. The Tannenbaum is owned by a company called Red Carpet Events & Design. On the plus side, the company offers cheaper chair rentals than many others in town and they saved us almost $300. We were able to save a lot of money on alcohol as well because they don't charge a corkage fee, and we were free to get our alcohol from wherever. Still, it was a little stressful working with them as they were experiencing some administrative changes. We talked with three different people filling in for a one-person job and this led to some confusion on their part. The day of our wedding, the company coordinator had to ask one of our guests which wedding she was helping with. We also ordered a road sign from Red Carpet and they spelled my husband's last name incorrectly. We are still waiting for our refund.
We loved working with the staff at the Tannenbaum. The venue is a blank canvas with tons of potential weather you have a large, medium or a small budget. You can let the venue speak for itself. The views from the outside ceremony space are spectacular. The inside space is rustic with an elegant charm. Set your sweetheart table in front of the slate stone fireplace. Great for photography!!! The lighting is romantic and the opportunities for decor are endless. You will have the opportunity to work with Red Carpet Events for decor and floral! They are simply amazing, creative, and fun to collaborate with! They truly brought our vision of a rustic, eclectic and vintage wedding to life!!!
I would recommend this venue to any bride & groom that want a "Tahoe" feel without the Tahoe prices. The entire experience was amazing! My only complaint about the Tannenbaum was that although it cost $3000 for 10 hours they still charged extra for certian things. Their lighting plans were at least $100-$200 extra. To use one of their arches would cost and extra $100. To use their cocktail tables ran $10 per table. It seemed to me that for the large amount they were charging to rent the space for 10 hours they could have included these things they already own.
The venue did include tables, chairs, & linens. That was a nice touch. It was essentially a blank canvas in which we were able to create the day exactly as we wanted it.
We got married at Tannenbaum last month and I was really happy with everything. We got it for 10 hours for an amazing price and were able to bring in all of our other vendors. We weren't forced to use their choices of caterers, florists, dj, ect. The location is beautiful, because you feel like you are in Tahoe, yet its only 10 miles up the Mount Rose Hwy. Kristyn is great to work with, and they provide basic tablecloths and linens for the event if you don't want a color other than black or white. There is a large bridal suite to get ready in, which was great because I had a ton of girls in there. Very fun. I was very happy with my wedding there.
The Tannenbaum is a beautiful site with beautiful views.
Tannenbaum is such a beautiful place. The first time I visited I almost cried when I saw the ceromony place. It's up the hills overlooking the mountains. My wedding was in the middle of summer, the hills really have a nice breeze so it's not hot at all. It's also secluded as they only take 1 wedding per day so it's definitely not one of those "wedding factoy" places. There's also a bridal suite on the site so it's really easy for the whole process. The grooms preparation room also has a pool table. The only issue we had was that the bridal suite's bathroom is out of order so it is a little inconvenient. But overall I'm really glad that we picked Tannenbaum.
The Tannenbaum was a peaceful and special place to get married. The staff was very helpful and flexible. The whole process from start to finish was simple and professionally done. I would recommend this venue as a wonderful location to have a relaxed wedding in a beautiful setting.
I loved the venue and had a beautiful wedding. Don't book in spring or early summer unless you are prepared to move your outdoor ceremony indoors. Started with one contact and she got let go -- she (Kari) was great. Replacement (Beth) was OK. She wasn't very accommodating and argued with me about simple requests, which was frustrating. But the venue is great. Great photos, great wedding.
A beautiful place to have any event especially a wedding. Beautiful and breathtaking views with great weather any time of the year. The venue was perfect and accomodated to all of our wants and needs.
We were married on Mt. Rose, on the outskirts of Reno. We got the Lake Tahoe mountain trees and atmosphere without having to ask our guests to drive over the summit. It's only about 12 miles from downtown Reno. It was a perfectly beautiful location. I also loved how easy they made it to plan our wedding. Julie and Michelle had lists of great recommended contacts (our amazing caterer, for example) and took care of ordering, picking up, and returning all our rentals without marking up the rental prices. They also took care of setting everything up and cleaning up after the party too!;If our caterer hadn't told us we were responsible for removing the trash from our reception ourselves, we would have had a nasty surprise that night (trash cannot be left outside because of bears). Luckily, we had someone bring a large truck, and made arrangements with the caterer to have everything double-bagged. It could have been really bad because we had arranged shuttles up and down the mountain to the reception. Also, the main room is rectangular, and it can feel crowded if you have both a photographer and videographer like we did.
The staff was wonderful and accomadating. The views are breathtaking. The interior is beautiful and you can decorate how ever you want to. The price is reasonable. Room to get ready. You can have the ceremony and reception at the same location.
The view was glorious and the interior was so classically reminiscent of Old Tahoe. No view of the lake, but who needs it when you've got a beautiful valley view and a charming reception hall?;It can get a little windy...tack that veil down tightly (I learned this in the middle of our ceremony!)
