Tara and her team at Posh Petals & Pearls are the best. If you need a planner in the Savannah or surrounding area (our wedding was at Jekyll Island), you couldn’t hire anyone better. They know everyone, and a testament to how excellent they a...re is every vendor we worked with (including our venue, which was new) absolutely raved about the PPP team. There is a reason for that – they are fantastic. It was the best money we spent for the wedding - our wedding would not have been as amazing as it was without their team.
What we loved / things to know:
- PPP uses fixed pricing – you decide what services you need and you pay a set price (we opted for design services and month-of coordination). Why does that matter? You’ll discover that many planners charge a percentage of the amount your wedding costs, which makes no sense because your incentives aren’t aligned. PPP also have negotiated discounts with certain vendors that are passed on to you, the wedding couple – this alone almost paid for the amount we spent on PPP. Not all planners do this. Knowing that any recommendations PPP makes are not intended to make them money directly allows you to fully trust their recommendations. Priceless.
- We had a destination wedding and planned from afar. We also didn’t have connections to the Savannah area so having someone on the ground was really important. Tara has a list of preferred vendors for basically everything that she sent us on day one – it saved us tons of time in terms of culling who to look at for our key vendors. Tara also would give honest opinions of vendors, which was invaluable. I never met her in person until the week of the wedding, but the planning process was seamless. Tara is great via email and phone, and using Pinterest helped us develop the design concept. She also allowed us to ship things to her, which made our lives much easier.
- Design services: Given her familiarity with all of the vendors and Tara’s passion for and keen eye for design, having her lead the charge for design was invaluable. She got what I wanted and executed it flawlessly. Everything for our wedding was truly beautiful. I trusted her opinion – sometimes I would have one idea but she’d gently suggest something slightly different, and each time I immediately knew that her idea was the better one. Also, for any idea I had, she knew the vendor who could do it. Couldn’t have been easier to execute.
- Month-of services: Many brides opt for day-of coordination, but to me this makes no sense, because it still puts some of the pressure on the person in charge of planning (bride or mother of the bride, most likely) because everything is in your head and you have to impart all of it for one day. Hence, we opted for month-of coordination and I was so thrilled that we did. Tara did our timeline and also coordinated with all of the vendors on their arrivals, timelines, etc. It took a huge burden off of me, and worked really well, particularly given the close relationships Tara has with all of the vendors. Also, no matter how well you plan, there will be last minute things that have to be addressed, and Tara was able to navigate everything and take all of the stress off of me.
Bottom line: You truly couldn’t hire a better team than PPP – professional, organized, well-connected, creative, responsive, passionate…just to name a few. It will be the best decision and the best investment you make for your wedding.
