Taste! To Go Catering and Events

Taste was amazing! Emily was so easy to work with, she helped us create a great menu of heavy appetizers for our meal that was a great mix of flavors. Her staff the day of our wedding were awesome. They had the passed appetizers during our cocktail hour right away and made sure to ask myself and my new husband if we had gotten to try everything. They even put a small plate at our head table! Dinner was amazing and they never let a serving plate stay empty. We also had them do assorted mini assorted desserts which were presented so cutely and more importantly were delicious! Our guests could not stop talking about how good the food was. Our venue even said it was the best food they have had out there! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a great caterer.

The food was amazing but getting a hold of anyone felt like pulling teeth. We requested a tasting many times but never got one. The service on the wedding day was very good there staff did an excellent job.

We absolutely loved working with Taste for our wedding. Emily was so helpful throughout the entire planning process and was always available to talk through any questions we had about the night. They were flexible and easy to work with. Their food was EXCELLENT! I haven't stopped receiving compliments about the family style menu that Taste served for us during our dinner. Everyone was impressed by the staff, who came around to ensure everyone had enough to eat prior to wrapping up dinner. We also had a huge cheese block that was very well received by our guests during the cocktail hour and then passed late night snacks- Italian Beef sandwiches (everyone loved them!). Taste also handled our bar and did a wonderful job taking care of our guests. They also took care of my husband and me- right before dinner, one of the servers came up to us and got our drink order. They kept our glasses filled all throughout dinner and the speeches- such great service! Honestly, Taste was just so great, I would recommend them to anyone looking for an event or wedding caterer! They were affordable and flexible, and above all, their food was delicious.

I had high expectations for Taste! They were recommended by my venue and by friends, but I have to admit, I was disappointed. I met with Emily and she was able to custom design a menu for me that was a little out of the ordinary, which was great. We were so excited about the food, and it was executed pretty well. During our cocktail hour, we were supposed to have passed appetizers. Halfway through, I realized there hadn't been any food! I had to leave my party to go figure out what the problem was. It was a simple miscommunication that was remedied fairly easily, but it shouldn't have happened. I had discussed the schedule with Emily over and over -- but she wasn't at the wedding, like I thought she'd be, and apparently her notes weren't shared with the people who were. It was disappointing. I was also a little disappointed by the dessert. We had donuts (yum!!), but I thought we were supposed to have several varieties of ice cream to go with it (including espresso!). Instead, they brought a giant tub of HyVee ice cream, sat it on the table, and scooped from there. It was just tacky, and wasn't what we had discussed, or what I thought I was paying for.

We loved using Taste to Go for our catering. The food was delicious! We also used them for bartenders and to set up our linens and everything went very smoothly. They helped us to develop signature cocktails that really went with the season and our wedding theme. Overall we were very please and would recommend them to anyone!

We got tons of complements on the food at our wedding prepared by Taste! to Go. They were wonderful to work with and have a great staff. They developed a special gluten-fee menu for us, and did a creative and outstanding job.

Our experience with Taste! To Go was wonderful. From our first consultation through the wedding night, all the staff members have been professional, accomodating, and kind. The caliber of their customer service and food is top notch. We researched a few caterers and consulted with a one other before deciding on Taste! To Go. We felt comfortable going with them even though we didn't meet with a bunch of others because we had attended a wedding a year and a half before where they were the caterers, and we thought the food was delicious. They also came highly recommended from others. Because we didn't meet with tons of others, I'm not sure how they compare in terms of budget, but it seemed reasonable to us. The most important thing is that we felt listened to if we wanted to spend more here, less there, etc-we felt like we could speak up about whatever we wanted as far as where it was important to us to spend the money. We worked very closely with Amy in planning not just our menu but other elements of the evening. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Zart1312 in Des Moines, and Amy, Emily, and all of the staff creatively found ways help us make the most of that space. I was expecting to primarily rely on them for figuring out the menu, alcohol, and layout, but they did an exceptional job in the months prior to, and the night of, the wedding helping us or completely coordinating (per our request) things like table/chair rental and arrangements, centerpiece constructions and florals, keeping the flow of the night going according to our timeline (but without making me feel any stress about it!), the bar, and a lot of other details. Amy always listened to our preferences and ideas and couldn't have done more to flexibly accomodate what we wanted for things. We went through a lot of menu revisions, tweaking it to be just what we wanted, and she was understanding, efficient, and timely in all of our correspondence. She was also very willing to brainstorm on her own and come up with ideas and present them to us. Overall, working with her was great. I don't know how she managed to keep all the details straight, but I never felt any stress about anything falling through and I went into the wedding night totally confident about how everything was going to go. And it went great! We did food "stations", and it worked wonderfully in our venue. The food was delicious, fresh, and everything I was hoping for. We got so many compliments on it. We also got a lot of compliments on the flow of the night, generally, and how everything just went so well--and I know that Taste! to go's expert handling of everything played a big role in that! They were also considerate enough to make sure that I, the bride, actually ate that night-I don't know if I would have, otherwise! Overall, we really, really like working with Taste! To Go, the food was excellent, and we would recommend them for any catering!

Emily is great to work with. Their food was wonderful. They are full-service so you can pay them to set up & tear down, which is great. I was very happy with the food & service, my guests were as well.

Taste to Go was awesome to work with and the food was amazing! They created elegant stations and we couldn't have asked for anything better!

The girls that run this company were really nice and we thought they knew what they were doing. We did all finger food, buffet style. However, when we showed up at the reception all the food was gone. Even though we had told them 30 people over our final number. Most of the gusts got food and what they got, from what I heard, it was delicious. But nobody in the bridal party got a single bite. The people working the event even went out and got more food but it was definitely not enough.
