We were so happy with Steve/TC beats at our wedding! The phone conversation we had when I first reached out put me at ease, and paperwork/payment were easy and straightforward. We almost didn't get a DJ because we thought we didn't need it for our short morning-time wedding, but it ended up being the best decision ever! The emceeing was critical and it was great to not have to even think about music. It is most definitely worth the money!! Steve came early and set up both the inside audio area and outdoor ceremony area audio quickly and without a hitch. It's clear he's a professional who has been doing this for a long time. He listened to all our requests and didn't have 1 issue with any equipment the whole day. Highly recommend this business and would work with again!!
We were referred to TC Beats by a friend who booked them before us. We went to their location in Gettysburg (we live in the Lancaster area) and immediately felt at home. Their office is a little bit hard to find, as they are located in the same building as a beer distributor and there is no sign to differentiate their office from the distributor. However, once we found it, we were welcomed right in. On our first meeting, we knocked out what we as a couple wanted vs. what they could provide. Their cost was extremely reasonable and they threw in a military discount since my husband is a veteran, which was very helpful!
After the initial consultation, but before the wedding, they made the drive out to our venue to check it out and run through the electric they would need. They also met with the staff at our venue and ironed out a lot of the details so there wouldn't be a lot of rushing around on the day of the wedding.
On the big day, the DJ's arrived about 75 minutes early, and that was even after they had a tire blow out on the highway! The only complaint I have is that the music I requested for when I walked down the aisle was not played. I have no idea what song it was, but it sounded nothing like the traditional "wedding march". I laughed it off and continued on, but it still bugged me and my husband did not include a tip at the end of the night because of it. I think he was (and is) more bothered by it than me.
At the reception, everything went well. Again, there was just one mishap. The main computer system crashed, so the photo slideshow that I had made disappeared. When the back-up system kicked in, our slideshow did not play right away. Instead, it was another couples' photos. It was funny and got a great laugh, but was something that I think is notable to mention.
The songs that DJ Guppy played were so much fun! We asked for a couple specific songs, but other than that, gave him basic genre information and let him have free reign. Everyone raved at the choices he made! He also allowed requests once all the formal dances were over, which was a lot of fun!
One of my favorite details was that TC Beats Entertainment gave us beautiful uplighting once the "party" party of the reception started. We never asked for it and did not pay for it. They just did because they said we were great to work with. We got many compliments on the lighting and how it changed the mood of the reception.
I am excited to see them again at my friend's wedding later this year.
I would highly recommend TC Beats to other low-budget, easy-going brides. Aside from the two mix-ups, there was nothing to complain about. We really enjoyed having TC Beats as our DJs/MCs for the night of our wedding.
Showed up and did an awesome job in a freak snowstorm.
This DJ is completely unprofessional, unorganized, and had the nerve to lie to us on our wedding day. I wouldn’t recommend this company to ANYONE.
We first met TC Beats at the Gettysburg Bridal Fair at the Gettysburg Hotel. My mom and I were told that turned out to be $200 more than what he told my husband and I at our first meeting with him. The DJ/owner left out the part that each time he opened his mouth, and each additional dance he announced at the reception was going to cost us extra. So we ended up getting a bill for an additional $200. He told my mom and I after we complained about it that if I were to remove some dances from the contract, he will honor the original price he told us at the Bridal Fair. I cut out some dances and he still ended up charging us the extra $200.
Things get worse…
The DJ/owner had the nerve to lie about a family member dying so he could get out of doing our reception. He actually scheduled another gig at the same time as our reception. We know this because servers at our reception location told us about the “incident” that occurred before setting up. The DJ/owner showed up 2 hours early wanting to set up, even though he was told multiple times by staff that there was another event going on in the ballroom that he would have to wait. He got impatient, called in another guy to set up and left for his next gig. We ended up with a DJ we had never seen before. He was decent, but rushed the entire evening and the reception ended two hours before it was supposed to end.
The DJ/owner was also extremely unorganized and never answered his phone. He did not return my voicemail messages or emails as well. My mom actually called the guy’s parents just so we could speak to him as it was a month before the wedding and we still didn’t have a contract on the event. To make things worse, he lost our file multiple times, and we couldn't even see his floor when we went in for meetings.
So like I said, I wouldn’t recommend TC Beats unless you want your wedding day ruined and the days leading up to your special day even more stressful than they already are.
Loved this DJ! I spent months trying to find the perfect DJ. We had many compliments from guests telling us it was the best and most fun wedding they have ever been too! This vendor worked so well with us and offered everything that we needed!
Jess and Guppy from TC Beats were very helpful in the prosses, although there was last minute confussion that I thought was unneeded if they had planned better. There price was the best around...especialy since they are totally electronic, which was a plus in my book. The music was great and had everyone dancing!
He seemed very eager to please, and he and his assistant were solicitous of the wedding party at the reception to the point of going to get us drinks during dinner. The best man started referring to him as the 'Waitre'DJ.' He was also accommodating of our live musicians -- we had a singer for the cocktail hour and a folk music trio that played waltzes for our first dance.;Firstly, his assistant (whom we'd never met) was the one who did our introductions, and never bothered to check either the pronunciations of the wedding party's names or how my husband and I wished to be introduced. (He called us 'Mr. and Mrs. John Doe,' which we both believe to be a sexist and outdated way of naming a married couple -- they didn't bother to find out that I'm keeping my own last name!) He completely ignored my request for a period of slow dances to jazz classics like Sinatra and Etta James, and during the request section his music selections were just barely passable. Also, his microphone had a good deal of trouble during the toasts and the blessing.
