My husband and I began looking for venues for an intimate summer wedding of 35 people back in January. Our ideals included: waterfront view, amazing food, and showing up that day with little to no responsibility for decorating or preparations. We wanted the day to be relaxing and stress-free for ourselves and our families. We were looking for a venue that felt really special, felt like we were really treating ourselves to a beautiful meal in a beautiful place on the ultimate date-night.
We first reviewed Templeton’s menu and thought the Elegance Package was perfect for what we were looking for. We worked with Jessica Knack throughout the planning process. She arranged for us to come in for a food tasting, which was a much appreciated gesture, considering we were a small wedding and she surely had much larger events to coordinate. The tasting experience felt so special, like we were really celebrating something momentous. The chef came out and greeted us and we tried everything we had hoped to serve at our wedding: all the food we had was phenomenal. Beyond any food I’ve ever had at a wedding before.
The day of the wedding, the Marina Room was set up beautifully. While my mother did decide to make centerpieces for us, we absolutely did not have to do that: Templeton’s had elegant minimalist options that would have been perfect. We were permitted to bring in a guitarist who played while guests were arriving and through cocktail hour. We were permitted to play our own music over our personal speaker, as long as it wasn’t so loud that other restaurant guests were disrupted (no one asked us to turn ours down).
Jessica was there to help direct everything on the day of. She helped us put together our timeline for the day to include all the traditional wedding things. The servers that evening were stellar - a nice surprise was that the appetizers were passed and not set up on a table like we had thought they would be. The servers never stopped moving - constantly checking in with new food throughout the cocktail hour. Once dinner was served, Jessica helped direct guests to serve themselves. Somehow, the food served that evening wasn’t exactly what we had originally picked to serve, but the guests told us repeatedly how spectacular the food was and that’s all that mattered to us.
After dinner and speeches, Jessica helped us move all our tables to the side and remove some chairs to make a little dance floor in the room. The bartender was fantastic, the signature drinks that Jessica arranged for us to have were amazing, and the cleanup was minimal.
All around, our experience with Templeton’s was amazing from beginning to end. It made for the most perfect wedding day, we couldn’t have imagined how perfect it ended up being. Jessica is fantastic to work with, so kind and accommodating and professional - she really knows her stuff. She answered so many emails and questions from us that she should probably get some kind of award. The restaurant felt romantic, elegant, and overall so charming. I believe the price we paid for the event we had was quite possibly the deal of the century - we certainly received our money’s worth, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. Compared to other venues in the area, Templeton is by far the most bang for your buck. I cannot recommend Templeton’s enough - thank you so much for making our wedding day the most perfect day ever. I wish we could go back and do it all again!
We had a fantastic micro wedding at Templeton this past weekend. Originally we were planning to have our rehearsal dinner here, but due to COVID-19 everything changed. Britton at Templeton Landing quickly came to the rescue and turned our 130 person wedding into a beautiful 20 person micro wedding in just about a month. The location is stunning, and the food was amazing! The only issue we had was that the reception room was very warm (we think there may have been AC issues?) but overall we had a fabulous time and would absolutely recommend this venue for future weddings
This was absolutely the BEST place to have our wedding and reception!! Kristen was an Angel! She listened to all our questions and concerns...on the day of our wedding (April 11th) I had no hiccups or problems! She made sure that I was carefree! The food was to die for, drinks were flowing and everyone is still talking about what an amazing time they had!! I couldn't have asked for a better wedding! Thank you so much!!

We hosted our ceremony and reception for 200 guests at Templeton Landing in October. It was actually the first and only venue we visited during our wedding planning process and we put a deposit down just a week after our first visit. From the contract process, to the tasting, to the final weeks to the actual event itself, we were so impressed with everything Templeton Landing had to offer. Our event coordinator, Amber, was a dream. She was organized, efficient, friendly and most importantly - made us feel like our wedding was special. She worked seamlessly with our entire suite of vendors and our wedding was truly flawless. I especially appreciated how she made all of our parents feel like celebrities on our wedding day by providing them special service and attention. I'd also like to call out the banquet servers and bartenders. They were outstanding. Every time I encountered an employee they greeted me with my name and a smile. The bartenders even knew the names of the members of our bridal party. What service!!! With it's position on the Erie Basin Marina, I can't think of a more beautiful place to get married in the Buffalo/Niagara region. Thank you to the entire Templeton Landing event and banquet staff for making our wedding day a flawless success.
First off, David Pruitt, the Events Coordinator was AMAZING! He allowed for everyone to breathe a little easier and was on top of everything which made the whole day and night go off without any issues. We had the ceremony on the outside patio of the Skyline Room and the transition from ceremony to cocktail hour and into the night was just fantastic. If it wasn't for David, I would have been totally stressed.
They are absolutely fabulous! We had our wedding there on May 4, 2018 and my guests are still commenting on the delicious food weeks later. The person we worked with in the catering and special events department was phenomenal. I could call or email Kristen with questions and she would get right back to me. She was so helpful throughout the planning process! The venue is beautiful and is a stunning setting for a wedding. I would highly recommend having any sort of special event at Templeton Landing!
Everything was amazing! The food was delicious, the staff was nothing short of amazing. The day was perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a better venu, thank you for making our day unforgettable.
This venue, overall, was very accommodating for our wedding; however, it took several event planners to get to that point.
During our 6 month engagement, the management switched hands. However, I met with the new manager and she was great. I just had to review everything I was told - there were some changes from what the first manager told us. The ballroom was beautiful - the decorations were set up beautifully!! They set aside appetizers for us and brought us drinks while we waited to be announced. The only problem I had was at the end of the reception - I was told the staff would help to clean up the decorations (rebox everything we brought) and they didn't help at all - I had to scramble and find a few friends and relatives to assist. BUT - overall it was wonderful!! I have gotten numerous compliments about the food! Strong suggestion - do off season here - (our wedding was 4/30 - on season is May-October and the holidays) - since they are closed for the season, they worked with us and our budget!!! (Otherwise it's very expensive!)
Everything was absolutely amazing. Jennifer is a doll and was so honest about vendors and everything that could be expected. The staff was exceptional, and the view on the lake was stunning. Most importantly the food was amazing and for their value, I don't know if there is a better place in Buffalo to get married!! All of our guests had an absolute blast and they made the day so perfect! I would seriously look there before anywhere else and I am so glad we chose them. Plus, with the big ballroom, you get the rooftop as your cocktail hour and for the rest of the evening so we were able to get amazing shots of the amazing views of the lake. I'm in love with our wedding because of Templeton!
Had an amazing reception! The food was awesome, especially the food at cocktail hour which was upstairs on the patio, and the views were beautiful.. We got some amazing pictures, and they set up our tables and centerpieces exactly as I pictured. Everyone had fun and we had a ton of people on the dance floor all night, which fit everyone. We had 200 guests and I think that was perfect, anymore than that it might have been a little crowded.
We had a wonderful reception at Templeton Landing. They were very accommodating and were able to provide us with almost everything we needed. We were supposed to have a room for the bridal party to gather before introductions, but there was a mix-up and it was given to the other bridal party there that evening - this would be my biggest complaint. The view of the harbor is beautiful! The food was amazing (we received a lot of complements). The bartenders kept everyone happy. Our just-under-100 guests fit perfectly in the Skyline Room. I was able to drop off everything a couple of days before the wedding and they had everything packed up for me the next morning. We plan to go back every year for an anniversary dinner.
Templeton landing was almost one of those "oh yeah, that place is cool" kinda of thoughts when picking our wedding spot. We were thrilled with it from the moment we checked it out and booked right away! The grand ballroom was spacious and open, with no blocked views and a center dance floor, room for the bar, gift table, dessert table, candy bar, photo booth, DJ, along with our 175 guests and we had plenty of room for another 50+ guests in there. The room was so bright and open, with great views to the west over Lake Erie and the light house. The cocktail hour upstairs on the patio was perfect and our guests raved about the location, decor, and FOOD! The appetizers and the dinners were phenomenal and WHAT a spread of desserts the put on! Our service was second to none, and so accommodating from the day we went to find the place, up until the day after the wedding, where we decided to have our family brunch. We could not be more pleased and highly recommend Templeton Landing!
Alison was wonderful throughout our entire planning and event day. She listened to what we wanted and not only delivered but made suggestions that we had never thought of. Our server was excellent and meet all our guests needs.
Templeton is a beautiful location. The set up was great, the food was excellent, and there was never a line at the bar. Our only complaint from the night of the wedding is that their "featured appetizer", the bruschetta spread continually ran out of bread. The catering group was difficult to work with as they weren't very responsive and changed our contact person 1 month prior to the wedding.
We had our dream wedding at Templeton Landing! The food was excellent and not one complaint from any guest. Also, the wait staff and banquet managers were amazing and very accomodating!
I went to see this Venue in the middle of the winter. We went to the upper deck area above the banquet room. It sold me and on May 19th, we started our reception on the upper deck for cocktail hour. The weather was Beautiful, along with the food and service. Every one of my guests raved about the food and the atmosphere of this venue. We finished the room in the banquet room, which was set up exactly how I wished. Phil, one of the coordinators is great and helpful and I highly suggest working with him and this venue!
Had my bridal shower here. It was perfect. Light lunch, nothing too heavy. But still had unique options (crab salad). Scenery was beautiful and every one was very helpful.
We used the rooftop terrace for our cocktail hour and it was gorgeous! Great view of the city. The food is great and the service is equally impressive. They were willing to cater to our requests.
Not only does Templeton Landing have one of the most beautiful locations for a wedding in Buffalo, but the food was incredible. The staff was extremely helpful. Phil, the event coordinator at Templeton did a great job, meeting with us several times to make sure everything was just right. They were extremely flexible with us, working with our budget and time frame that we wanted. Would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a place to have the reception.
