About this vendor
With one-half mile of Tennessee River frontage at the mouth of the Tennessee River Gorge, Tennessee RiverPlace is 130 acre working farm, offering a picturesque backdrop for any wedding or event. At the heart of the farm rests a 10,000 square foot European style villa with extensive porch, patio, and lawn spaces, which, by itself, sets Tennessee RiverPlace apart from other venues. Our Villa has a 4,000 sq ft patio that is perfect for outdoor receptions, and we have a 3,200 sq ft tent space you can use in inclement weather.
The setting can only be outdone by our uniquely flexible, yet attentive approach to serving you and your priorities. We are one of the very few venues to encourage you to bring in vendors of your choice. After all, this is your event, so we won’t presume to know what you want or limit your choices in any way by only using selected vendors. However, we can point you to some experienced, professional vendors if you like.
At Tennessee RiverPlace, every event we host is unique. We specialize in indoor/outdoor events. For a bride who desires to have her wedding and reception at the same location, and who wants time for decorating and space for getting ready, RiverPlace is a great fit! The views, wide open spaces, adaptable facility, and laid-back atmosphere differentiate Tennessee RiverPlace from other wedding venues. We offer reservation times ranging from 4 to 14 hours with options for unlimited consultations. Our goal is to allow our customers the ability to host (and thoroughly enjoy!) their ideal wedding day.
We offer accommodations directly upstairs in our Main Villa, and we have two additional guest houses on-site, so that so that you, your family, or your out-of-town guests may stay the night or weekend to celebrate your special day. If you book your accommodations with your wedding booking, you will receive a 15% discount on accommodations.

As mother of the bride and event planner, I thought the venue was beautiful and my daughter fell in love with it. Her floral designs were beautiful, her caterer was great, the hair and make up area is very ample and accommodating complete with a steamer (even the artist commented on the space), the staff was nice and helpful and did a great job with the reception set up and linens. The guest rooms were very nice, complete with water, soda and snacks. Great photographer. The bartender was really great. She handled our crowd of about 55 guests with ease. The venue is classy, beautiful and spacious. Everything was going according to plan all the way up to about 2 hours until the wedding and the power goes out and the venue has NO backup plan. They thought it was going to rain so they started tearing everything down on the open patio and moving inside where there wasn't power, no emergency lighting. The DJ at least had a backup power source. I felt sorry for the coordinator of the day (my son was looking for the electrical panel and found her crying). She told my daughter we wouldn't be charged for moving the reception. What??? My daughter said she didn't want to move inside as she was tearing up. I told them to put everything back as she wanted. We were all running around trying to figure out what to do as we weren't getting much help from staff. We were told there was nothing they could do. We asked if we could bring in a generator so a least the DJ would have power and for the string lights and were told no. My son-in-law was on the phone with the director. My other son-in-law, finally got the director to agree to let him and my husband drive into town and rent a generator, they brought it back and got the lights and DJ going. Everyone was sweating profusely from hauling the generator and getting it hooked up. We all felt like we had to fix the problem and didn't get much help from the director. Anyway, the sky began to part and as my husband and I walked our daughter down the pathway, I reminded her of how beautiful the setting and evening sunshine was and she felt much better. It was so panicked and touch and go for quite awhile. My daughter asked for some refund and was told not a chance. As an event coordinator, I only had "acts of nature" happen one time. It wasn't on the part of where I worked, it was torrential rainfall that didn't allow the group to get to their event. I fought for them to get a partial refund at least. This is just one mother-of-the-bride's opinion and experience. I'm just trying to state facts and not feelings as my daughter was asked to edit her review or suffer legal repercussions. This is a perception on my part as we were told this had never happened before. I believe the director should have been there or given the coordinator authority to make decisions. Other than this one huge thing, that was out of all our control, everything was very lovely. It would have been nice to have a backup generator on site. Maybe something for the venue to consider.
Tennessee River place
The venue is beautiful but we were left with a sour taste in our mouth. We rented the rooms for the night before and for the evening of. When we arrived the day before our wedding we couldn’t find anyone to tell us the codes to our room. And stood around for 10 mins before finally locating a staff member who still couldn’t find the code for us. My family rented out a whole guest house on the property and had the same issue gaining entry. They were also painting and it smelled heavily of paint, something we were not informed of. Finally we got into our rooms, staff was nonexistent during our rehearsal hour. Now to the actual wedding day, there were several staff members sitting in the office, none to be found during the wedding. One of my groomsmen had to show the staff how to use the pressure washer so our event space would be clean. There was one helpful younger woman but she couldn’t be everywhere at once. We paid extra for “sound equipment” which they didn’t put out until 2 mins before our ceremony which delayed things. Refused to give my officiant a microphone, so she had to scream. Then one our walk back down the aisle the speaker cut out and stopped working. Then staff were nowhere to be found during the transition to our reception. They also allowed the rehearsal that was scheduled for immediately after our wedding to attend early so we had unwanted guests flooding into our rooms and reception space/ our balcony’s that attach to our rooms. This following morning we had our rooms booked until 10am and the staff were already allowing the following wedding to come in, try to enter our rooms. Block our cars in amongst other things. Surprisingly for this wedding though it was all hands on deck. So just be wary if you spend less than the full package then you will definitely be treated as such. They barely lifted a finger to help us set up when it was insisted all the tables and chairs would be set up upon our arrival, my family had to hunt down extra tables for the caterers to have somewhere to set up even though it was in the floor plan. So just think wisely in planning a wedding here as the only happy spots were time spent with my new husband.
IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE SCORE, I WOULD. THE MGR NAMED KATHY THE WORST EVER. SHE DOES’NT KNOW WHAT HOSPITALITY MEANS. LET ALONE SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY………
My fiancé (now Husband) and I are from out of state and took a trip up to Chattanooga to look at Venues. We went to a few but the moment we arrived at Tennessee River Place, we immediately looked at one another and just nodded our heads because we knew this was the perfect venue. The views are incredible. You don't even need to spend much money on decorations because the venue is beautiful, the scenery is beautiful... all you need is the bride! Vio was also incredible! She was always easy to reach and quick to respond to an email. The day of the wedding went absolutely perfectly, and every single guest complimented on how beautiful the venue was. Because I was in another state when I was struggling to think of a floor plan layout, I reached out to see if they had previous floor plans they could provide me and Vio sent all kinds of ideas! Vio was always helpful, and respectful. Another wedding was taking place the day after mine and asked for additional items of theirs to be set up the day of my wedding - and Vio called me to ask me if this was okay or if she needed to tell them no. She was so respectful about it, gave us time to think about it and there was no pressure at all! I would HIGHLY recommend booking Tennessee River Place!
Party Time Productions loves the Tennessee River Place! As wedding DJs, we have the opportunity to work at many different venues. The view at the Tennessee River Place definitely makes it stand out! We would recommend this venue to any bride-to-be!
This was the most gorgeous place and I HIGHLY recommend it! It’s so versatile with all the different spaces and the scenery is truly breathtaking! Vio and Sara made the process so easily and they were so easy to work with and accommodating! I can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is and the pictures were amazing!
Tennessee Riverplace was the perfect wedding venue for our wedding. Both the outdoor ceremony area and the indoor reception area are beautiful. We had our wedding in November and our ceremony pictures turned out so beautiful with the fall colors. The staff at the property were also super nice and helpful. We absolutely loved working with Vio and Chelsea. We also booked both guest houses for the bride's family and the bridesmaids. This turned out to be a very good decision and our guests loved hanging out at the guest house next to the venue after the wedding. We felt really lucky to be able to book the venue for our wedding day!
I fell in love with this venue as soon as I saw it! My fiance and I knew it was where we wanted to get married! We had our ceremony under the arbor and the reception on the patio under the bistro lights! Everything turned out perfect! Chelsea were helpful and always returned my calls very quickly. The only tough part was the short rental time we had the venue. But our guests still talk about how beautiful the venue was!
Tennessee RiverPlace was so beautiful that we barely needed decorations. The day of our wedding, I was even surprised by how beautiful the venue was. The lighting provided made for the perfect romantic evening. The gardens were perfect for climbing in for pictures. The backdrop of the river! I am beyond words with how gorgeous everything turned out to be. The staff was very helpful and had everything setup perfectly. Vio responded quickly to all of the questions that I had. Excellent venue to work with! We had our ceremony and reception here. It's a steal for the price! There is a grooms room and a brides room upstairs. I was able to watch a little of the ceremony from upstairs before coming down myself.
I am beyond ecstatic with Tennessee RiverPlace. I just can't wait to get the pictures back!
We had the most wonderful wedding experience here. We were able to see the venue many times before our big day. I really believe they understood that we needed to get the right feel before our wedding day. They were super accomadating and made our wedding planning easier to handle. Not to mention the venue itself is BEAUTIFUL. It's next to a river for crying out loud! So satisfied with the way our big day turned out. Thank you Tennessee Riverplace!!
Location is beautiful and the staff was wonderful!
Amazing venue. Breathtaking scenery, wonderful value, and great to work with. Extremely accommodating, willing to let you chose all your own vendors, but makes excellent vendor suggestions as well. Definitely the right ceremony, reception/ choice for us!!
As beautiful as the venue is, the staff outshines the gorgeous views. We are so thankful for Vio and Rachel for making our wedding day so amazing! Thank you ladies and the staff a million times over!
This venue is just perfect! The views are absolutely to die for. The grounds are very well kept and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful and responds to phone calls and emails very quickly. When you arrive the day of your wedding, they have everything set up for you exactly the way you want it. The only thing left to do is add your decorations! I cannot say enough good things about Vio and the rest of the Tennessee Riverplace staff. They helped my wedding day go off without a hitch!
I loved the venue. It's absolutely gorgeous!! The people are very helpful and kind. They take great care if something is wrong to fix it to make the bride happy! Great venue!
I had my wedding ceremony and reception at Tennessee Riverplace. It was the perfect day! Tennessee Riverplace was absolutely wonderful. The facilities are beautiful and the scenery is hard to beat. The staff were always professional and friendly. They were organized and made sure I had everything taken care of. One of the reasons why we chose Tennessee Riverplace was the flexibility of having whatever vendors we wanted. We didn't have to choose our caterer from a specific list. The staff are so flexible and are willing to do whatever to make sure everything turns out the way you want it. I would highly recommend having a wedding or whatever kind of event here. After the wedding, me and my husband stayed in one of the rooms and it was very nice! I will definitely be coming back to stay for bed and breakfast in the future!
Tennessee riverplace is beautiful and big enough for almost any type of wedding! The staff is very helpful and will pretty much bend over backwards for you! This place is wonderful!!!
Although the venue was the perfect location for an outdoor wedding, the weather prevented us from using it. TRP sent up our ceremony under the tent, which was ok given the circumstances. However, we were very unhappy with the "flooring" of the tent. Every time anyone took a step, red mud would squirt up through the rubber flooring and get on guests clothes. My dress was covered in red mud. My mom had red mud all the way up her dress past her knees. We do not understand how TRP didn't know this would happen since they use the tent very frequently for rainy day weddings. They need to invest in a better quality "flooring" to prevent this from happening.
Tennessee River Place was beautiful! We had everything planned to be outside then it rained all day :( We used their big tent for the ceremony and had the reception inside. It was a perfect day! They were really helpful and did a great job setting up exactly the way we wanted.
I first fell in love with this venue online--then when I saw it in person it was even more amazing! This is the most ideal outdoor wedding venue in Chattanooga. The venue also has tons of versatility. From the huge outdoor patio, tons of room in the main house, to dancing in the tent, we were able to have everything that we wanted for our big day. The staff is very friendly, helpful and 100% professional. They were always quick to answer my questions and always made me feel important. This venue was the perfect setting to take our day from great to fantastic. I recommend them a thousand times over.
I had always dreamed of having an outdoor wedding in the fall. And I have always LOVED mountains and rivers and all of that, I have always thought they make such pretty settings and pictures. When I first walked the venue, I knew I wanted to get married there. No other venue even came close after seeing the Tennessee Riverplace. The staff was incredible all throughout the planning process and attended to my every need. The venue was absolutely gorgeous and accommodated my 200+ guests nicely. Beautiful, beautiful place! Ceremony and Reception were held here which is very convenient for everyone.
My husband and I were looking for a dog-friendly venue where we could have both the ceremony and the reception. Tennessee River Place not only met our needs, but is beautiful and absolutely fabulous to work with! We highly recommend for anyone looking for a venue in Chattanooga to check out Tennessee River Place at www.tennesseeriverplace.com.
I would reccomend this venue to anyone. It was absolutely perfect and made for a perfect wedding day. All my family stayed at the place and we had a big family reunion. The staff was unbelieveable and helped us so much. I had my dream wedding thanks to Tennessee Riverplace.
I absolutely loved getting married here. I actually wanted to get married here before I even started dating my now husband. The team at the RiverPlace were great to work with and I never had any complaints or problems. My day was perfect!
