Terrain at Styer's

a smaller, more intimate wedding like we wanted. The rustic vibe is very charming. I did have reservations about not having a bathroom in the Mushroom House (the cute garden shed the bride and her wedding party hang in prior to the ceremony) and not being allowed to do hair and makeup in the Mushroom House even though you're there for the 2 hours leading up to your ceremony. However, these felt minor compared to how happy we were with everything else. To help with your decision, Terrain also gives you a free meal at their restaurant onsite so that you can try some of the food and drinks, which was not only nice but very helpful. Once we booked, we were assigned a wedding coordinator, Courtney. She is wonderful! She helped us through the whole streamlined process and was available to answer our questions as needed. We also really loved the whole tasting experience, where you get to try some of the offered food in the space you will be getting married. It was fun and exciting, plus the food was great and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. We were able to have our ceremony outside, as planned, but it's nice that Terrain allows you to make the rain call on the morning of. My sister had to make her final decision to have her ceremony indoors or outdoors a few days in advance (at a different venue). To be safe, she chose inside, and it ended up being a beautiful summer-feeling sunny day in early November. So again, being able to make the choice day-of really alleviated stress on an already stressful/busy day. Our wedding was gorgeous and went off without a hitch! If I had to do it all over again, I'd still go with Terrain. That being said, I'm writing this review to help both the incredible establishment I had my wedding at AND to help future brides with a big decision so I'd like to point a couple things out that I think are relevant to booking this venue: 1. Hair and makeup are not permitted on the premises at all, which means if you don't live within a 20 minute drive from Terrain, you have to book a hotel room or Air B n B nearby for the night before and maybe that night as well. Otherwise, you need to book somewhere offering a late checkout of 3 pm. The closest hotel is Best Western, which was nice for the purpose of wedding guests sleeping there after the party, but it's not picturesque for your getting ready pictures (even in the suites we stayed in). Because of that, I booked me and my bridesmaids an Air B n B house ~20 min away the night before. This is where we got ready until we ran off at 3 pm to the venue. Since I had an afterparty booked at Best Western- where our wedding block was- I did not book the Air B n B for our wedding night. Figuring out how to transport our clothes, makeup, steamers, etc. to the hotel that day was hectic and I lost an important bracelet in the process since we all tossed things into any bag that someone brought to the hotel. Have a plan for how to move your things if not staying where you get ready! 2. There's no bathroom where the bride is so if I had to go, I'd walk across the way to where the wedding is and where the groom I was hiding from is. Before walking down the aisle, I had to pee in the restaurant in my bride dress during dinner time. Not the worst but not ideal.
