Terrell House

I had my dream wedding at the Terrell House this past weekend. I used to live in New Orleans, and so we planned the wedding from out of state. I had never actually been to the venue before we chose it, but Linda did a wonderful job of showing us around virtually and making everything feel very personalized. The venue and rooms were even more beautiful and elegant than I anticipated. It was the quintessential New Orleans courtyard wedding that I wanted. We absolutely loved staying in the bridal (balcony) suite. The balcony is wonderful, the room is comfortable and elegant with plenty of space, there is separate room with a vanity and a walk-in closet with plenty of space for shoes and clothing. We did our first look on the balcony, and it was so special. It's nice having the parents stay in the other suites. One of the best aspects of the Terrell House is the people who work there. Linda was so wonderful with questions, organizing, and recommendations for our wedding plans and vendors. Riva and John were wonderful chefs, and Riva also was always willing to help out with any other questions. Marchelle is so down-to-earth and willing to jump in to help. Annikia helped a TON on the set up and wedding day itself. It ended up raining and we arranged a tent in advance, and we were still able to have a wonderful celebration. We arranged to fill all the rooms in the Terrell House for my wedding weekend. There was a 3 night minimum stay, and this ended up being awesome because I had extra days with my close family and bridal party. All of the staff were welcoming and attentive to my guests. The Gold Suite has more space than the King Suite, including an extra room with a daybed. Both have balconies. My parents and my (now!) husband's parents really enjoyed their stays. My bridesmaids and I got ready in the Corner Store Suites, where my sisters were staying. My husband and his groomsmen got ready in the Creole House Unit on the ground floor. My advice for staying at the Terrell House is to be kind and communicative with the staff--they are lovely, and ask only a few things from their guests: to coordinate well before arrival so that the staff knows the arrival timing, to let them know when in the 8-10am timeframe you plan on coming to breakfast, and any food allergies or restrictions they should be aware of for breakfast. My husband and I were extremely happy with our choice and would 100% recommend the Terrell House to anyone looking for a wedding venue or even a nice bed and breakfast to stay in while visiting.

We are extremely pleased with our experience with Terrell House. They provided the venue space, lodging, catering, florals, and our day-of-coordinator Annikia for our wedding. I worked with Linda the owner over the last year and she was always very professional, responsive, and friendly in all of our communications. The historical NOLA home and courtyard is classy, grand, and beautiful in every aspect of the building and décor. Every single guest was raving about how delicious the food was. Florals were stunning. My Day-of-Coordinator Annikia was the real hero of the entire day. I don’t think I can list every single way she provided me complete ease and assistance because it’s innumerable. She handled everything from decor, vendors, set up, break down, pacing, dress duty, gift gathering, even went out on the day of and brought us back lunch. Just so many things I didn’t even realize in the moment that she was doing behind the scenes that were so thoughtful and necessary. Our day would’ve been completely different if it wasn’t for her. Very great and positive experience overall and recommend Terrell House for your wedding. Seems to be run very well and efficiently by a great team.
