The 1932 Barn at Historic Hodge's Farm

I cannot say enough great things about the 1932 Barn as a wedding venue! Leading up to the wedding, the team was there to answer any question that I had and would go above and beyond in checking to make sure I was on track with planning. They even include decor and design in their cost which was so helpful because I didn't even know where to start! The day of our wedding it poured rain all morning. Hannah and Margo kept me posted on the plan and continuously checked the radar to see when the rain would let up. The rain stopped right before our ceremony and the venue team went out and wiped off all the seating and left umbrellas close in case it started again. To me, that meant the world. They knew people pick their venue to try to be outside and were willing to do all they could to get us out there. It ended up not raining the remainder of the night so everything was perfect:) Overall, our day was perfect in every way and I can't imagine getting married anywhere else. My husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing and our guests are still talking about how perfect everything was which is all thanks to the venue team!

I got married here two weeks ago and would recommend The 1932 Barn to anyone looking for a wedding venue! We loved the rustic and warm atmosphere which is what sold us on this space. Lori is incredible to work with. She was so patient with me with all of my questions and when I had my design appointment with her, she looked at my inspo photos and made everything come to life! Hannah was our day of coordinator and she was absolutely amazing! She answered my hundreds of emails and questions leading up to the wedding with such patience and kindness. On the day of the wedding she made sure everything ran smoothly, she helped my bridal party with anything they needed, and she (and other staff) set up the wedding of my dreams. Quick shoutout to Andy and Jimmie, our bartenders for the night, they were also outstanding. They were fast and efficient and our signature cocktails were DELICIOUS! I absolutely cannot say enough good things about this venue!

Lori and her team were fantastic. Michelle was our day of coordinator and we couldn’t have asked for better. Michelle was very available and willing to answer any and all questions we had. She was so calming and understanding throughout the planning and day of. Unfortunately it rained the day of our wedding and she and her team flipped the entire venue to the backup location and still had the wedding on time. We can’t recommend this place enough. The team was so amazing in completing set up, decor, and take down. They were able to assist guests with their questions. Michelle and her team were great with checking in to see if anything was needed while getting ready and even in the rain delay. This venue truly felt like home and we look forward to possibly having future events there!

I can not say enough about the amazing experience of working with Lori and her team. They were so organized and made my daughter's wedding day everything she wanted and more. Their location is wonderful. Their help and organization were flawless and they made it a day full of memories to be treasured forever. We knew from the moment we met them that they would do everything they could to make the day magical and perfect. This venue and the staff are the only place you need to look for a wedding. They are the best to work with and the best at what they do! I could not possibly recommend this venue more! The entire experience over the year of planning up to and including the day was stress-free because of them. They make wedding dreams come true!

I can’t say enough positives about this venue. Lori, Michelle, and her staff were amazing through our whole experience. From when we toured the facility, our design appointment, to wedding day - we were kept in the loop, given great recommendations, and guidance for our big day. I can’t express how special our day was because we didn't have to worry about a single thing. Our design appointment helped bring our vision to life and it was so great to see it all come together. If you are looking for a stress free experience, the 1932 Barn is the place for you. I would recommend them over and over and over.

I Should have left this review a while ago, but time got away from me. I just can't say it enough about how wonderful the staff of The 1932 Barn was to work with to help us celebrate our daughter and her husband's wonderful day! Their friendly guidance, smiles, endless assistance, appearing at the right times to ask if we needed help, what we might want to drink, giving us direction, even telling us so kindly that something needed to be done differently, and genuinely seeming to enjoy working with us and our guests made the day that much more special! Leanne and Lori were absolutely amazing. We got married at the end of October this year and I couldn’t have asked for a better venue. They communicated with us for everything and made it so so easy.They were so welcoming and friendly and the Barn is just gorgeous. They took care of it all on the day of and made my wedding day stress free! I cannot thank them enough. I definitely recommend having your wedding here.

The 1932 Barn is TRULY the best place to get married. I am not kidding you when I say the staff is just absolutely amazing. Michelle was our lead for our wedding and she is INCREDIBLE. Words cannot describe how grateful I was to have her there that day with me. She was quite literally the talk of the town with her work in helping us. All of the staff helped me along as there was unfortunately rain in the forecast. They were so sweet and let me wait until the very last minute to decide whether or not to have it inside or outside. We did have it outside and they were completely prepared as a storm hit AS SOON as ceremony ended. Their package, staff, inventory, and help is what sold us. They were actually our first and only venue we looked at and we could not be more happier with our decision! They all take their parts very seriously and make you feel like you are the only person matters. I was actually recovering from being sick the week of and Michelle had brought me food and Tylenol to get my fever down. Right before the reception, my dress broke and Michelle literally comes to the rescue and sews it on me. I'm telling you, this woman is a superstar. We loved everyone and all The 1932 Barn did for us! You will not regret booking with them!

The 1932 barn was the perfect place for our wedding! We could not have been happier working with Lori and Mike. In every step of the process, they were professional, one step ahead, and so kind and easy to work with. They were a huge reason we picked the 1932 barn after touring a half dozen venues. The indoor and outsoor spaces are beautiful, and well suited to a wedding of 100+ guests. If you choose the 1932 barn, you made a great choice!

If you want to have a barn wedding in Charlotte, this is your sign to do it at The 1932 Barn!! Lori and her team handled the day-of-coordination perfectly. She provided all the planning tools I needed to plan the wedding of my dreams. All of her recommended vendors did an amazing job. All of our guests had such a great time, and Lori was flexible, attentive, and kind the entire time. The design session is so much fun and stress-free. The venue is so naturally gorgeous on its own, and Lori still went above and beyond to make sure the decor was stunning and representative of our vision. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose The 1932 Barn again in a heartbeat.

We held our wedding here on Nov. 12th, 2022 & it was absolutely perfect. Lori & her team exceeded all of our expectations and more! The venue, while rustic, is very chic. Lori was exceptional to work with. Everything from the design appointment to nailing down final details, Lori & team made sure our wedding day was exactly what we wanted! Our guests even commented to us how attentive & accommodating the staff were. We were told that all we would have to do that day was show up, get married & enjoy our wedding and that's EXACTLY what we did! We held our wedding at the 1932 Barn in May 2021. Planning a wedding is stressful at the best of times, but especially so during a global pandemic. Lori and her staff were so incredibly helpful and her experience in this industry made the process so smooth. Lori has connections in the community for just about everything. The amount of services available onsite is unrivaled by any other venue I've seen. If they don't have it, they will get it. The 1932 Barn team really spent time getting to know me and made my vision come to life perfectly. They are flexible, anticipate needs and take care of them before I even know about them, organized, lay out everything comprehensively (wedding planning can be very overwhelming) and had competent staff in both the lead up to the wedding and the day-of. The day-of coordination was so key and the both the ceremony and reception came together perfectly. To get this level of service for the price point was entirely unexpected and I cannot recommend this venue and this team highly enough.

My Husband and I had decided early on that we wanted to have a morning wedding, with just a few of our close friends and family. The 1932 Barn team was able to deliver us exactly what we wanted: a 35 guest brunch wedding at 10:00 am on a beautiful October morning. Lori, Christina and the rest of the team do an amazing job; they are so communicative, flexible, and willing to do anything to make your day perfect! You will have the most gorgeous wedding if you choose to have your special day here!

I cannot say enough about this venue. Lori & Mike and their team are absolutely incredible. They made the day totally seamless. We loved that they include gorgeous decor, set-up, and tear-down. I was so impressed that all of my extras were already packed when it was time for us to leave, and not a thing was missed. Our guests were beyond impressed with all they did, on top of how beautiful the space is (where else have you seen a bohemian rug dance floor)? Everyone should get married here!

If you’re reading this and looking for a wedding venue near Charlotte, I’d suggest you go ahead and book the 1932 Barn NOW! I spent hours researching wedding venues across North Carolina, and ultimately decided on the 1932 Barn for many reasons, any one of which alone would be reason enough to book. First off, the venue is beautiful, rustic, and historic, and yet still within a taxi ride of a major city, making it a convenient location for our out-of-town guests, unlike most other barn wedding venues you’ll find which can often be remote and hard to access. Second, Lori and her thoughtful team have MASTERED the wedding day-of coordination. They know the in’s and out’s of how to work with the vendors and set everything up, so that the wedding day runs as smoothly as possible. They’ve thought of everything and have back-up plans for whatever could go wrong, and on the wedding day, I felt totally taken care of. Lori and her team went above and beyond to accommodate my wishes as a bride (even when the pandemic derailed our original plans.) They were patient with me, answering my long list of questions. Finally, the design consultation is the icing on the cake! They offer a humongous selection of decor for the bride to choose from, everything I could’ve dreamed up to match my aesthetic. Also, it was a total relief to not have to worry about finding and buying all that decor myself, let alone having to set it up and take it down—Lori’s team took care of all of that! Go ahead and book! I wish I could do it all over again!

COVID bride here and I needed to write this review because of how AMAZING Lori and the 1932 barn are! I have had to postpone my spring wedding to fall, which was frustrating but Lori and her team could not have made it more seamless and stress free! In a time where so many venues and vendors are being unkind or not understanding, Lori and her team have been such a bright spot for us. They have treated us with endless kindness, support and understanding. Have gone above and beyond all expectations to give us our "big" day. She truly treats you like you are her family and I cannot recommend them more because of that. Lori who runs the events is the most helpful person ever. She has made planning my wedding so stress free that people cannot believe how zen I am. I am normally very type A and crazy about things but she just takes care of everything. The design meeting we had to plan every piece of decor and moment that needed to be planned for the day of was so helpful and thorough, we got it all done in just a few hours. Speaking of decor, they provide everything you could ever want and have such a vast collection - you don't need to buy a thing! They provide all the recommendations for vendors for what they cannot provide themselves (DJ, catering, photography) which is so helpful. The vendors have all worked together many times, so they were able to coordinate easily and get the details sorted out with nearly no help from me! Even replanning, they were all able to get on the same page within a day or two! The venue itself is so beautiful as well and they are always working on making it as Pinterest worthy as possible. We are two weeks out and I am just so excited to get married there. If you are looking for a venue, book this one - you will not regret it!

The 1932 Barn is amazing. The staff was extremely organized and professional. Each staff member went the extra mile to make our wedding day perfect. Not only did they make the day of the wedding special, Lori made the process leading up to the wedding stress-free. We couldn’t recommend the venue enough to everyone. We are so grateful for each staff members help to ensure our day was perfect.

My husband and I had another venue picked out, and after looking at everything for a few months, we came to the conclusion that w just could not make it work. I was so anxious and nervous because basically all venues in the Charlotte area were booked for our April 27, 2019 wedding. Lori at the barn was one of the first people I talked to when first shopping for a venue, and I reached out to her after she kept in touch with me for several months. She cleared her day to give me a tour, gave me all information I needed up front, offered different pricing packages, and was so responsive and sweet. She is a true professional and she definitely knows what she is doing. I can be somewhat of a worry wart, and my husband is in the service industry. She and her team demonstrated all the things we wanted and needed. Besides that, the Barn is so affordable for what you get. You receive a whole team to work your day (complete with Lori), decor, tables, chairs, glasses, dishes, sparklers etc. Those things in itself are usually not included and add up fast! If you have an idea in mind, Lori probably has it, or will work to find it. She and her husband are constantly making upgrades to the property. She is also great about noticing the little moments you need a photographer, when your gifts need to be packed, who they go with, etc. The girls who worked my event had to fix my bustle the day of (twice) and were able to do so with a safety pin and super glue! You could tell they have run across any problem you have had and are not afraid to get in there and help. I received the best compliments from our guests, and they said it was one of the best weddings they've been to. It is a huge compliment, and I know we could not have done it without The 1932 Barn and their staff. If you never thought you'd use a barn for your wedding (it wasn't what I originally pictured) please reconsider just to have this venue on your big day.

Where do I even begin? Lori and her team created a day for my husband & I that we will never forget. The 1932 Barn sits on one of my favorite roads in Charlotte. Driving on this road makes you want to roll your windows down and play country music! My husband and I were so excited to have our wedding here not only because of the AMAZING venue itself but also because of Mrs. Lori and her team. From my initial call with Lori to the exit... Lori was nothing short of incredible. Her caring spirit and genuine want to help create the perfect day is exactly what ANY bride wants to work with! She was even there holding sparklers at the end of our exit - smiling and celebrating with us with our friends and family. It meant the world to see her smile on our way out! Diana was such a joy to work with as well. She has such a calming presence and kept me smiling all day long. If you are looking for a venue that will truly create a day for you that will go unmatched, book with the 1932 Barn!

I had my wedding here in October of 2018. Almost 6 months later and my guests are still raving about it. It was the most dreamy night and everything my husband and I could have hoped for. We highly recommend this venue to everyone searching for a venue in the Charlotte area. Lori and Diana were super easy to communicate with while planning and both took phenomenal care of us on the day of. They totally understood my taste and style and made the night truly reflect mine and my husband's personalities! Thanks for the best night of our lives!!

We absolutely loved our October wedding at the 1932 barn! The property was gorgeous that day in the fall. Lori and her staff worked closely with us to make sure everything looked exactly how we wanted it. She let us come by and walk the property a week prior to the wedding in order to talk through our vision. Her staff helped to make sure there was a plan in place in case of rain and that all guests were able to stay warm throughout the event. We were impressed by the flexibility of the venue to adapt to our wishes in terms of where the ceremony would be located on the property. The access to a wide variety of décor was a game changer. I was able to pick out exactly what would match my vision for the wedding without having to worry about the price of each individual item. This is an awesome perk that you will not find at other wedding venues! Lori’s excitement and passion were what originally sold us on the venue, but her entire staff’s hard work to make the day a reality was what made the day truly memorable. Her work and coordination with us leading up to the wedding was the reason we felt like we didn’t need a wedding planner. On the day of the wedding, we didn't have to worry about setup or preparation - we simply enjoyed the day. We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed this venue!

The 1932 Barn was an absolutely incredible wedding venue and team. The space itself is absolutely stunning and well kept. They are an all-inclusive style venue, but it still felt personalized and unique throughout the entire experience. If you book with the Barn you get Lori and her team as on-site coordinators which is incredible because they know the space and the flow so well. After booking, you send over all of your Pinterest boards for style and then travel to Salisbury for a decor appointment. They have a warehouse that looks like Magnolia Market and Hobby Lobby had a baby - it's amazing! They walk through each of the areas of decor and help style the venue to your liking (fake flowers, rustic cake plates, displays, etc.). Then they write it all down and take care of all the transport and set up. Leading up to the wedding, if you're Type A like me, you might feel like Lori isn't responding as quickly as you'd like but I promise you it's because she's done it so many times that she's not worried! She made my wedding day an absolute breeze! When I was stressed about weather or items I forgot, she already had three awesome back up options ready. Seriously - she and her team are incredible. They make you feel so special and so supported through it all. I couldn't recommend The 1932 Barn more. Our wedding day was amazing and they were a huge part of it. They even installed an air conditioning unit in the barn the week of our wedding to help keep our guests cool! Like.. who does that??!!!

The 1932 barn is simply amazing. The perfect combination of rustic elegance. Not only is the venue and surrounding fabulous, so is Lori and her team. Their attention to detail is incredible and you simply cant go wrong with their styling! From a Photographers perspective, this venue is Stunning

I photographed a wedding at the 1932 Barn on Hodges and I was truly blown away by the staff as well as how beautiful the venue is. As soon as I arrived, Lori found me, introduced herself and her and her daughter were extremely attentive to me through the whole day, ready to help at any opportunity. They were warm, friendly, and a joy to work with. I appreciated how laid back they were in allowing me to get creative with the bride and groom around the property, helping create as much time as possible to shoot with them. They took amazingly intentional care of the bridal party, the bride and groom's family, and the guests. The best part of working with them was how they worked as a family and made the atmosphere inviting and comfortable. The quality that set Lori and her family apart was the way they served each and every person they interacted with during the wedding day. The property is beautiful from the horses roaming in the pasture behind the barn to the rustic chic bridal suite. Sassifras Design did a phenomenal job with decor because it TRULY felt like the wedding was straight off of a Pinterest board. The table decor was unique and beautiful. They truly captured the bride and groom's personalities in the way the decorated for the wedding! I would recommend this venue to any couple looking to work with an attentive and caring venue/planners or other vendors who have the opportunity to work with this venue/planner. I hope that I have the pleasure of working with them again soon!

This venue is incredible. The site is gorgeous, the staff is incredible and so wonderful to work with. I would recommend this site to anyone looking for an outdoor ceremony area. We had 200 guests and had our ceremony and reception on the property in two different locations on the property. We don't have a single complaint. They made it stress-free and we loved everything about our wedding
