The Abbey was the perfect spot! The chapel was historic & the best for the ceremony & then the reception space was just a small walk. They were in both indoors but separate. Sarah was amazing
to work with. She was patient, helpful & easy going. She took what I wanted and decorated both areas beautifully. She handled everything . Nothing but
complements from everyone. Bridal suite
& guys dressing rooms were also great. Can't say enough. Everyone loved the food. We had alot of options to choose from. It truly was the perfect place.
WORST BUSINESS TO WORK WITH-Will not allow you to use the space that you rented. When you arrive and it is dirty they will NOT allow you to clean it in order to use it. When you arrive the tables will not be set-up according to the 100 emails exchanged regarding set-up. You will then get to spend your time setting up the venue according to what you have paid for even if you have other things you will need to be doing. The business will not provide an inventory list requested by the wedding planner multiple times. The venue will leave you there by yourself to set-up and figure out things for yourself. If you touch anything of the venue's they will keep your "damage deposit" even if you didn't damage it. They call it "renting," but we already rented the venue for 12 hours. They will not give pricing for things you might touch upfront. They will just keep an imaginary number of $ and then tell you why later. If you rent the houses, they will also charge you for "extra cleaning" if the sewer backs up into the sink and tub. They demand to hire the bartenders for the event. They will not share with you who they are or allow communication with the bartenders in advance. Our bartenders showed up 30 minutes late. We paid for 5 hours for 2 bartenders and we got 4.5 hours. The portion of the venue that we were not allowed to use was about 1/11 of the venue and was the main reason we booked this location for our wedding. This company owes me $620. We will be hiring an attorney because the lady that owns this venue thinks she can make stuff up. Venue refund $375 1/11 of venue space not allowed to use or clean for use, $45 for the bartenders being late, $200 for damage deposit returned (because nothing was damaged).
The perfect venue! From the beginning we said we wanted something simple and country and The Country Abbey fit us perfectly (in fact it’s the only place we looked at!)! Sarah and Naomi were amazing and answered my million questions. Sarah was our day-of coordinator and it all flowed seamlessly!
The staff at the Country Abbey was absolutely wonderful. I am so thankful my husband and I chose this as our venue. We did the Ultimate Package - let me say, it was WELL worth it! The Country Abbey provides basically EVERYTHING you could think of needing: a coordinator, the decorations, the dream dressing room, the flowers, the cake, the food, and more. The cake was provided by Candy Haven (based in Denton). So delicious; one of our guests said it was "the best wedding cake she has ever had." The food was provided through a small Italian restaurant in Fort Worth: though I and my husband didn't have much of a chance to sit and enjoy the food, it was still so good.
Sarah, the Country Abbey wedding coordinator, is so professional and will do everything in her power to make your day absolutely perfect. My husband and I were blown away by the decorations and sheer attention to detail. Sarah was willing to meet with us early on a Saturday morning since we couldn't meet during normal business hours. On the day of the wedding, Sarah calmed nerves and ensured that everyone was exactly where they needed to be, when they needed to be there. One of our family members could not say enough amazing things about Sarah's organizational talents. Needless to say, we were all impressed.
The only item that I was not pleased with was the photographer provided by the venue. While they were very professional on-site, I did not feel that they did a good job of capturing our day. I would recommend hiring a second photographer if photos are of high importance to you (or your family).
Want to tell your friends and family you got married in a beautiful, little chapel, in a small Texas town, the Country Abbey is the perfect place for you.
I had a vision for my wedding day before I even found this venue and Sarah and Naomi made my vision come to life. They were so helpful with all of the different options for decor and they understood the look I was going for. They took all my ideas and made the venue look absolutely amazing. Not only that, but they made sure that everything on the wedding day went perfect!
I have been dreaming of my wedding since I was five, and my dream came true at the country abbey! Naomi and Sarah are amazing. Sarah checked up on me frequently, and made sure she had everything prefect. Naomi was very accommadating to our needs. They truly made my wedding a breeze. My favorite part about this venue is that even with the basic package they decorate the chapel, and the tables in the reception hall. They also have beautiful add ons for a low cost. As for the abbey its self it is simply beautiful. I teared up the first time I saw it because it is so perfect! I couldn't have imagined a better wedding, and I have Napmi and Sarah to think for it.
We wanted to have our reception and ceremony at the same place and this was definitely perfect for that. They had everything set up and ready for us to decorate when we got there. They even let us do our rehearsal the night before even though there was another wedding going on. The staff was amazing the day of. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for our wedding.
While the venue itself is very lovely and they have optional upgrade services available I was very disappointed that venue coordinator would not even consider a proposal comparison. We simply were asking to match their cost to that of another venue (greenoaksweddings) whome I HIGHLY recommend for their facility and services for the price. Country Abbey made our short list and simply had to decline because the would not match a proposal by 300.00 difference even though we would be losing additional services offered by the other facility, we weren't asking them to match services dollar to dollar, but simply the dollar. I have to say after the amount of discussions and the tour and being ready to secure a date with a written contract to have enitre cost paid for within 4 months, they declined offer and I guess simply did not care to have the business. So if your looking for a nice place that allows flexibility with DYI or all inclusive this is a nice place, but do not expect any type of price match or proposal coparisons as all other venues want your business and will do this.
I couldn't be happier with the Country Abbey! The owner and staff were a delight to work with, the prices were some of the best in the city. If you are looking for the perfect place for a wedding with the classic chapel appeal, the Country Abbey is the place to hold your wedding! Oh! And they even have 2 bed and breakfast houses on site which made my wedding day a breeze!
The Country Abbey made everything so easy. The ladies were very flexible, available to help out with anything we needed or to step back and let us do our own thing. We could bring our own decorations, or hire their professional decorator. We could do our own catering, or hire a vendor on our own, or we could utilize their services. They offered comprehensive lists of vendors they've worked with in the past, including a few "Never hire this group!" (always appreciated when you don't know any name on the list!)
While we did not do it, they offer a comprehensive package that includes the venue, flowers, catering, photographer, cakes, the whole deal for a very reasonable rate. We ended up spending slightly less than the advertised rate, but I think it would have saved quite a bit of frustration and stress to go that route. I highly recommend at least checking it out and crunching some numbers before deciding.
The only issue we had was the day-of food. The Abbey offers a day-of snack service for the dressing rooms, and ours got overlooked the day of. However Naomi apologized and took care of it immediately, so the "issue" was a total nonissue. Everything else was spot-on.
Overall, I'd highly recommend working with The Country Abbey. I can't praise them highly enough. If you decide to book with them, be sure you look at the race schedule for the Speedway. We scheduled our wedding on a non-race weekend, so traffic wasn't bad, but on a race weekend? Oof! So be careful there.
The Country Abbey was an ideal and perfect place to have my wedding! Everyone was very helpful in making my wedding awesome!
The Abbey was awesome! We had a cake disaster, but Molly was on the phone getting a new one immediately. The Abbey was laid back and helpful in all the decisions.
I had my wedding here and was very pleased with everything about The Country Abbey. From the chapel and reception area to the wonderful staff, everything was just perfect. As soon as I walked into The Country Abbey I knew it was THE place. It has a beautiful chapel and great reception area. The staff was great and very helpful and patient with me. Highly recommended!!!!
The Country Abbey made my wedding better than I ever could have imagined. The staff was friendly and helpful, and willing to work with me on details up to the night before my wedding.
I purchased their decorating package, which was both a time-saver and worth every penny. From the flowers to the reception decor, I felt like I had personally picked everything and designed it myself! The wedding coordinator helped everything to go by without a hitch, and I was pleased with the catering, as well. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with The Country Abbey, and will recommend them to everyone I can!
I had my wedding at The Country Abbey and it was absolutely wonderful! They were there to the very last detail. I was not stressed at all the day of the wedding because I knew the amazing staff was there to help me along the way and would take care of everything!!! The decorations were beautiful and EXACTLY what I had dreamed of! I would highly recommend this place to everyone. It is perfect for that down to earth, intimate wedding!
The room was warm and inviting with a mediterranean fell. There was also an attached covered 'bistro' area with small tables and candles for the smokers in the group so they did not have to leave the area or go outside to smoke but could have cocktails in a lovely environment. The staff also was accomodating and was present the evening of the wedding to help if needed.
Very classy!
It is a beautifully remodeled church fellowship hall with beautiful lighting!
