I had my wedding at Mountain View Manor (MVM) in September 2023, and I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. The venue, a private mansion turned wedding venue, was shockingly affordable compared to other venues in New York. It is also absolutely stunning, and exudes a classic, romantic vibe. The venue is so beautiful with many small decorative touches that I really didn't need any extra decorations outside of table centerpieces. We chose the package that included a rehearsal dinner Friday night, lodging Friday night, and breakfast, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party, and lodging on Saturday. MVM provides a list of preferred vendors who are all intimately familiar with the space (see below), and after researching around, I ended up using all of them! The MVM staff was excellent (my guests especially loved the bartender with the tattoos), and most importantly, the food was amazing! Do not worry about your guests getting a bland or minuscule meal! Tim, the head chef, is very flexible in adapting the menu to your desires and tastes. Day of, the wedding coordinator Lauren made sure that everything ran smoothly- I didn't have to lift a finger or worry about any details because she took care of everything! I will say that the nearest hotel is about 30 minutes away, so take that into consideration when planning room blocks/transportation for your guests. I highly highly recommend you check out MVM for your wedding- it was a perfect day!
Other Vendors You Should Check Out:
DJ: DJ Flow (Hot Traxx Entertainment)
Photographer: Carroll Tice
Florals: Floral Cottage in Matamoras
Transportation: We Transport Inc (845-440-1111 Ext 1332)
Venue was pretty, there was nothing there. Not enough hot water, no staff, no kitchen, no ice, no Tv's if you like to relax that way. No nothing. We had to drive 25 minutes to get a bottle of water or coffee. Had I known I would have brought a cooler. The food was delish, but we waited 1/2 hour online for a drink at the bar. Two bartenders for 130 guests. No one announced to come down the hall for coffee after dinner so missed the dessert as well. Think twice and ask questions before you book.
I really have nothing but good things to say about our experience with Mountain View Manor. From the initial tour to breakfast the day after the wedding, Tim and the rest of the MVM team was so helpful and made sure we were taken care of every step of the way. We had lots of calls with Tim leading up to the wedding, and he gave great advice but also listened to our requests and was very accommodating. Trust him - he knows what he's doing!
We ended up having enough guests to use both the Mansion & the Ballroom for our wedding, and both locations were in pristine condition when we arrived. We spent the entire wedding weekend from Thursday-Sunday staying at the mansion with our bridal party. The rooms were spacious and clearly well-maintained. We were able to have five hair/makeup artists working in the bridal suite the morning of with lots of bridesmaids coming in and out, and we never felt like we needed more space.
Tim helped to coordinate everything on the day of and couldn't have done a better job. He did his best to wrangle the bridal party when necessary, and that was no easy feat with the amount of people we had.
I have to take a moment to discuss the food because I have had SO many guests comment on how delicious it was. Contrary to the popular notion that the bride never gets to eat, I was absolutely stuffed by the end of dinner and could just barely make room for dessert. It was exactly what I wanted! We had an after party in the bar area, and we also booked the venue for breakfast the following morning and invited all of our guests. We had initially expected about 50-75 guests to actually RSVP yes, but when it ended up being closer to 100 Tim was understanding and still was able to accommodate us. The breakfast food was also delicious and had a ton of options.
The MVM team really made sure that we had the best weekend, and even went above and beyond by setting up a table outdoors for our sister and brother-in-law when they tested positive for Covid at the last second. They were able to view the wedding festivities from afar and also feel like they were somehow a part of the Reception, and that really meant a lot to our family.
I could go on and on, but I'll just say thank you to Tim and everyone at Mountain View for an incredible weekend! If for whatever reason you're on the fence, just book them. We would highly recommend working with them for your wedding day or weekend.
I have only good things to say about this venue. It is an adorable mansion in upstate NY (Close to Port Jervis and the PA border). The ceremony site is beautiful, with stone half walls, and green grass you would swear is a carpet! Also, they have not 1, but 2 rain contingency plans, that are also beautiful options!
There are 9 rooms to rent (in a block) on site - and if you choose to use them, it makes getting ready and pictures a snap!! Tim is the Wedding Coordinator/ Caretaker/Head Chef at MVM, and he is THE BEST! First of all . . .I have never tasted better food. I got compliments from at least half of my guests, many of them “foodies”. He is passionate about food, and about his ability to make delicious food for your loved ones. He is proud of the food he makes, and it shows through both what he makes, and the presentation of the food. We had a station dinner, and it was just magnificent. There was hot and cold seafood (which my picky uncle from New Orleans who loves seaford said was some of the best he’s tasted) as well as a pasta station and a couple of others you can pick from. In all, there was so much food everyone was amazed. Oh, also . .I have to mention the cocktail hour . . .The food!! It was passed Hors d'oeuvres and there were just so many of them! I’ve been to weddings where people were stalking the waiters because they were hungry . . Mine were following the waiters because they couldn’t get enough of the deliciousness! But there was more than plenty to be had. In fact, I don’t think they stopped bringing them out until it was time for the reception.
For the wedding overall, Tim was amazing, and he seemed to be everywhere! He really made my wedding flow beautifully, and if there were any hiccups, I didn’t know about them. There are 2 reasons for this. One, is his staff, which were so lovely and helpful. They were constantly asking my now husband and I if they could get us anything. The other is the fact that I chose vendors that are among whom he calls his “A Team”. And can I tell you? THEY ARE!!!! Floral Cottage (Sue), Hot Traxx Dj (Ralph) Gio’s Bakery, Rolling V Shuttle Co. and Photographer Carroll Tice. If you are interested in MVM. Do yourself a favor and hire all of them too!!! I couldn’t have been happier with any of them! (and if you’re interested I am also reviewing them separately.)
All in all, My wedding at Mountain View Manor was even better than I dreamed it to be!!
My husband and I had our reception at Mountain View Manor on December 4, 2021, and we cannot rave enough about this venue! Tim's customer service is unmatched, and all of the recommended vendors are outstanding! I cannot stress how EASY Tim made the planning process. He was always calm and collected, and was willing to incorporate our specific details with ease. I was blown away when I walked into MVM after our ceremony (we were married at a local church) and saw the stunning holiday decor and organization that Sue from Floral Cottage arranged in coordination with Tim. Our guests were beyond impressed with the food, decor, and flow of the evening. We could not have asked for a better night. Thank you for everything MVM! It was the wedding of our dreams!
We got married at Mountainview Manor on August 7, 2021. I can't say enough amazing things about this venue. People are calling us RAVING about their experience. We decided to have our rehearsal dinner at the venue, and we also stayed in the mansion with our bridal party and parents for the whole weekend. I highly recommend you do the same because it felt like a giant slumber party. We felt totally comfortable the entire time. The mansion is beautiful, the ceremony space is so peaceful, and the food was out of this world.
I cannot write this review without mentioning Tim. Wow. Tim is the person who you work with the entire time leading up to your wedding. He was quick to answer questions throughout the year (during a pandemic no less!). Tim is so kind and accommodating. I wanted to serve guests watermelon as they walked in, and he set it all up so beautifully. We joked all weekend that Tim must have a clone because we don't understand how he can be in charge of so much- and do it all SO WELL. Tim if you're reading this, we cannot thank you enough. You helped make our wedding so special.
Mountainview Manor is such a special place. We highly recommend it!!
My now-husband and I came across MVM by chance during our venue search and we were immediately sold on the look, feel, and personalization. The whole mansion is beautifully maintained and creates an amazing backdrop for a wedding/party. Tim, our main point of contact, made us feel welcome and confident that we would be taken care of during the whole process. When NYS started to close venues/restaurants due to COVID, Tim was very flexible and gave us different options for our wedding plans. We ended up keeping the same day and just reduced our guest list to adhere to the NYS guidelines. The whole MVM team was amazing in making our guests feel comfortable and safe during the whole event. We had a great time and all of our guests had a blast!
We hosted our rehearsal dinner at MVM as well and the entire wedding party/family stayed overnight in the rooms upstairs. It was very convenient for getting ready the next morning and the night of. Lauren, the maitre, d' did a great job setting up all of our reception decor and taking care of us throughout the entire day. All of the food was fabulous at both the rehearsal and wedding; Tim really is a wonderful chef and was very accommodating to our requests.
Despite COVID, the MVM team had made our entire wedding and weekend so memorable and wonderful. It was everything we imagined it would be.
It's one year later and I still think about my wedding day. Mountain View Manor gave me a fairy tale wedding. I booked half the mansion for my wedding party. I had a rehearsal dinner on Friday and then my wedding on Saturday. Everything went amazing! Tim was a pleasure to work with and made everything so easy. Lauren made sure that the day's events went accordingly and even made sure I ate while running around. I used all of the preferred vendors with exception of the preferred photographer - I already had a photographer pre-selected. Ralph the DJ was great, as well as Sue and Ellie. Maybe one day I will return for an anniversary celebration.
Our wedding at Mountain View Manor was spectacular!! MVM is an old, beautifully restored mansion with a gorgeous outdoor ceremony space, old-fashioned ballroom, and stunning views… And it even has guests rooms on the second floor for family and friends to stay. Throughout the entire planning process, we dealt exclusively with Tim. Since I live on Long Island and the venue is about 3 hours away from me, we did most of our communicating through email and by phone. Tim was very responsive and always got back to me with answers to my questions very quickly, often in the same day. I had made several suggestions / requests in the months leading up to my wedding, and Tim was receptive to all of them and he made sure that everything was absolutely perfect for me and my guests. In addition to handling the business end of things, Tim is also the chef! He promised large portion sizes of high quality gourmet meals for our guests, and when the wedding weekend came, that is exactly what he prepared.
We chose to turn our wedding into a weekend long celebration. On Friday night, we held a buffet dinner for our closest family members that were sleeping at the mansion with us for the weekend. After dinner, MVM put out additional appetizers and snacks and we had the rest of our guests join us for a “Welcome Gathering.” It was so much fun! Saturday was our actual wedding. As Tim promised, the day went very smoothly. His staff handled everything for us and we didn’t have to think about a thing! The meals provided were out of this world. Everything was fresh, delicious, and, as promised, the portions were huge! On Sunday morning, we hosted a brunch for our family. Tim prepared this as well, and it was the perfect way to wrap up the best weekend of our lives.
Our wedding would not have been complete without our key vendors, who we hired based off of Tim’s recommendations. DJ Ralph, who was wonderful and allowed us to customize our entire playlist. Ellie from Elliegant Cakes made us a mouthwatering wedding day breakfast as well as the most amazing wedding cake! And Sue from Floral Cottage Weddings blew us away with her gorgeous arrangements!
Overall, our wedding at MVM was better than we ever could have imagined. Friends of ours have even said that it is by far the best wedding they have ever been to. Tim helped us plan out three major events and everything was wonderful. He made sure to offer varied menu options throughout the weekend so that our guests weren’t getting repeat dishes, he customized everything to meet our needs, and he even lightheartedly told me that he wasn’t going to cook for me if I wouldn’t smile, as he could see I was getting nervous. Our advice to future couples is to follow Tim’s input and don’t worry about a thing - he won’t steer you wrong and you will not be disappointed with what he delivers!
My husband and I got married at Mountain View Manor on 10/7/18 and it was such a wonderful experience. As soon as we drove up for the first time and saw the gorgeous surroundings I knew this was where we would get married. Orest was extremely responsive to all of my emails leading up to the wedding and answered all of my questions. Tim, the chef, worked with us to tailor the menu for our cocktail hour and reception and everything was delicious. We were extremely happy with the vendors they recommended for the flowers, photography, and DJ. This saved us so much time from having to find these vendors on our own. I would recommend reserving the mansion rooms as well for yourselves and the bridal party or family. It was so nice that at the end of the night we just had to walk upstairs. Our family and friends are still talking about how great of a time they had. I think what drew me the most to this venue was that it didn't have that "cookie cutter catering hall" feel to it, while still offering exceptional service and it was by far the best value out of any other venues we researched. I would highly recommend Mountain View Manor for your wedding!
My husband and I had our wedding at Mountain View Manor this October, and we are so happy with our choice! The house and grounds are absolutely beautiful, and provided a perfect setting for the rural fall wedding we wanted. Because many of the vendors are included with the packages available, the planning process was incredibly easy (which was perfect since we live in NYC and were only able to come to the area so often). What's really amazing is that you can rent out the whole mansion for you and your party to stay in for the weekend, and because they only do one wedding at a time, the experience was very custom and personalized. Mountain View Manor really felt like "home" for us and our close-knit families, which made the weekend even more special.
On top of a gorgeous setting and seamless planning process, the food served was absolutely phenomenal! We've been to a lot of weddings, and have had a lot of mediocre wedding food, so this was definitely a concern of ours when we started wedding planning. Tim, the executive chef, completely blew us away with the flavor and quality of food prepared. We got so many complements from our guests, many saying it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding (which we completely agree with)!
Lauren, the day-of coordinator, was a savior for the weekend! I'm (admittedly) a high-strung person who was fairly nervous about every detail, and she took all of my requests in stride and made sure everything was taken care of. The only feedback I'd have is that I would've loved being able to communicate with her before the wedding so that the logistics were squared away in advance. Tim (the chef) manages the communication leading up to the event, but was tied up running the kitchen on the day of so I found myself having to tell Lauren things about timing, vendor instructions, etc. that I'd shared previously. Definitely not a dealbreaker but would've made me feel more at ease.
All in all we had an absolutely wonderful experience getting married at MVManor. The food, setting, and ease of planning are just a few of the things that make this venue truly special. If you want a completely personalized wedding that's elegant yet down-to-earth, look no further. Thank you MVM to making our wedding day vision come to life!
We were married here in August of 2019. The journey leading up to our wedding at Mountain View Manor began with extensive internet searches for potential venues. We knew that we wanted a unique location that allowed for nature’s beauty to shine on the day with a bill that wouldn’t force us to move in with our parents. Tim was a giant reason why we chose Ardmore mansion and had such a wonderful experience here. He showed us the venue, then showed my parents the venue, then showed both sets of my in-laws the venue all separately. He was extremely accommodating and understanding of the pressure we felt to make this day perfect.
We knew we had found the right place after exploring the grounds and mansion and talking to Tim about the menu. When we told him we wants to have chicken parmigiana on the menu, he immediately said “I’ve got a great sauce!”. Though we wanted fairly traditional ceremony and reception, the ability to let our personalities shine through and to customize the details was huge. None of our vendors put us into a box, insisted that we did something in a particular way or pressured us. They advised us, gave us honest pricing, answered our questions and allowed us to think about what was important to us.
Our wedding day was beautiful. All of the vendors that Tim recommended were true professionals. Lauren, our day of coordinator, knew when it was time to get everyone in line and took control of the day so that we didn’t have to. She worked with our DJ (Stylez Entertainment) so that the music was tailored to each upcoming moment and that the announcements were made at exactly the right time. We trusted Tim and the vendors that he recommended to read the room and really cater to the mood of our guests. Everybody went above and beyond. We have no regrets, only special moments that we will relive again and again.
My husband and I were married at Mountain View Manor on 10/07/17, and it was the best decision we made! All of the staff and associated vendors made wedding planning so easy and carefree. We chose to stay at the manor the night before the wedding, and we are so glad we did! I can't stress enough how happy we were with this choice...The manor truly felt like we were at home, which made the morning wedding preparations essentially stress-free. I was really able to enjoy the whole morning leading up to the ceremony, and take in every minute. Everything just fell into place (thanks to the professional, amazing staff and vendors). Let me just say, Orest's list of associated vendors is amazing! Tim (the executive chef) made an endless flow of hors d'oeuvres, and delicious menu options that every guest loved. We used DJ Flow...and received countless complements from our guests! Our wedding cake by Ellie, and morning breakfast spread was not only delicious, but everything I wanted it to be! She was even sweet enough to keep an eye on my rowdier guests to keep them out of trouble (including my father! haha)...and Sue at Floral Cottage made me feel comfortable day 1! She knew exactly what I wanted, even if I couldn't explain myself properly. She even set up complementary center pieces for my rehearsal dinner, just because!! If I had to plan my wedding all over again, I would choose Mountain View Manor EVERY time!! Anyone currently planning a wedding, please do yourself a favor, and choose Mountain View Manor!! You will have such a unique wedding experience, that you and your guests will never forget! I don't even feel like this review is doing justice to how happy I am with Mountain View Manor...Thank you so much Orest and everyone at Mountain View Manor!!!
We had our wedding here on 10/13/17, and we could not have been happier with our venue choice. Truth be told, this was the first and only venue we visited in person. From the moment we stepped foot onto the premises, we knew this was the perfect place to have our dream wedding.
The entire staff was super friendly and helpful. Orest was always available to answer our questions throughout this whole process. Tim and his staff prepared delicious meals for us and our guests. Lauren was a godsend on our wedding date. She made sure the whole day ran smoothly, and most importantly, that we were fed. Even the bartenders and wait staff were great and extremely attentive. We didn't use most of the in house vendors; just Ellie for our cake and Sue as our florist. They did an amazing job. If anything went wrong on our special day, we were none the wiser. I would highly recommend MountainView Manor to anyone looking for a wedding venue. Thank you all involved in making our day wonderful.
Had our wedding on October 21st 2017 and highly recommend this venue. To be concise:
1) The venue is beautiful and unique- The grounds are amazing and inside the mansion the antique furnishings and stairway make the inside extremely photogenic. The outside patios are also perfect for the cocktail hour. I had at least 20 people ask me how I had found this place
2) You can customize so many things. From the ceremony to the food- we were able to really customize our wedding due to the flexibility the venue offers. Tim, the chef, even made a custom vegetarian meal for us as well as accommodating several guest allergies.
3) It can be a one stop shop for the lazy bride.
MVM has a preferred vendors list that all work together like a finely tuned machine.
We picked our own DJ but we used Floral Cottage, Elliegant Cakes, and their transportation company. It was so easy to book everyone and since we lived far away, they would coordinate to all be there on our visits up so we wouldn't have to make multiple trips.
4) The MVM staff and vendors are great. Orest is no nonsense, organized and efficient and I had no worries going into the day as I knew everything was under control. Ellie from Elliegant Cakes and Sue from Floral Cottage are amazingly sweet and made beautiful flowers and delicious cakes ( i ate my cake topper the next day as I couldn't resist eating more of the cake!) But the real amazing part of the staff for me was when the glitches did eventually happen, they went out of their way to help- including me forgetting to get someone a boquet and Sue making a last minute arrangement to Orest, the day of the wedding offered to personally go pick up some guests that were stuck at the train station after they couldn't get a taxi.
5 stars all around!
My husband and I had our wedding there Sept 2, 2017 and I could not have asked for more. Lauren helped keep everything organized and flow beautifully--she was AMAZING. Tim was the cook and he made everything so delicious and was great with any menu alterations I requested. The servers were all nice and respectful. It was so nice not to have to worry about anything.
And the place is BEAUTIFUL.
Thank you Orest and Lauren and Tim and everyone for being so great and making the best day of my life so stress free!
Everyone should get married here.
Don't do it, you will not be happy. Bad food, bad service, the place is beautiful on the outside, the catering hall is not. The set up is not user friendly, the bar service was terrible, you could hardly get a drink without waiting in line because they have one small bar. The bench seats out side had the nails sticking up so you had to watch where you sat. The food was not good it was a cheap piece of Prime rib, the tuna was not good also. The Potato arrive in tin foil and covered in something that I have never seen before. Vegetable were from a can, not good at all. Couldn't get a water refill had to get my own pitcher. I have been to many affairs and this was easily the most disappointing. In spite of all the bad thing that this venue did we still had a good time. My advice find a professional place this is not one.
Our wedding on May 13, 2017 at Mountain View Manor was amazing. Everything went according to plan and that is largely because of what Mountain View Manor offers. Despite the rain, we never stressed because we knew that the inside of the mansion was as majestic as the outside. We enjoyed the intimate space. Orest was helpful in helping us plan everything via email (we toured MVM with Tim, the chef, and booked within days). The maitre d, Lauren, was relaxed and offered guidance from the rehearsal on. Orest was also on-site on our wedding day. We did not have to stress about a single detail because the staff was always one step ahead of us, anticipating all of our needs. Our dinners were kept warm, our drinks flowing, and everything happened seamlessly. We used several of the vendors recommended by MVM. The flowers from Sue at Floral Cottage were exactly what I envisioned. I had asked her to replicate an arrangement that had special significance. I asked for lilacs and several other specific flowers and Sue delivered. The fresh garland on the banister and centerpieces at the rehearsal dinner were an added bonus. Ellie put cake aside in the bridal suite for us. Marcie (hair/make up) made everyone look gorgeous and was so fun to work with. Selecting Christina Zen Photography was one of our best decisions. We already talk about wanting Christina to do photo shoots for us in the future as our family grows. Our families loved staying at the manor in the guest rooms and it was so special to us to be able to spend Friday through Sunday together. We looked at several venues in the Hudson Valley area but fell in love with MVM. We had eleven nieces and nephews in our wedding and the venue was relaxed about having kids around. Friends in the restaurant business commented how impressed they were that the hors d'oeuvres were served hot and said that is a rarity. The raw oysters and chicken parmesan pieces were a hit with our guests. All of the food was absolutely delicious and we received several rave reviews of the filet mignon. As promised, it was very evident that the food was fresh and prepared with expertise. We know that Tim (chef) takes great pride in what he does. He even did his best to accommodate several vegetarians and we very much enjoyed both the rehearsal dinner and Sunday breakfast spread. The staff working alongside Tim on Sunday morning were so personable and took time out to speak with our parents on Mother's Day. Many of our guests commented on how we were continuously smiling throughout our wedding. Our smiles were magnified ten-fold because of the whole experience. The after party worked well and we were thankful to have that extra time with our friends and family in a picturesque space. We loved all of the decorated fireplaces, each one unique. We had such a memorable weekend and will forever be grateful that we choose Mountain View Manor. We wish we could live that series of days again and again. We already knew we made a solid choice and anticipated that everything would be wonderful and as the weekend was happening we took particular notice of the professionalism of the staff and the beauty of the place and felt validated in our decision. We highly recommend that other couples take time to consider this venue.
Having our wedding here was a dream come true. Orest worked with our budget to come up with a beautiful wedding for us. Tim the cook does an amazing job, our guests are still talking about how good the food was! The day ran smoothly and perfectly thanks to the help of the MountainView Manor staff. The day was just perfect.
Just had my wedding ceremony & reception at the Mountainview. Everything was perfect and we could not ask for a more beautiful setting and atmosphere! Highly recommend!!
We had the perfect wedding! Everything went so smoothly and perfect, we couldn't have asked for anything better. All of our guest were so impressed with how beautiful the manor is and fell in love with it as much as we did. We really enjoyed all the time we spent just hanging around the manor Friday night and Saturday morning. It was so quiet and peaceful and we got to really enjoy some time with our bridal party and family which was so nice. It was so private, it felt like we were at our own house.
Orest's recommendation list is spot on. He is correct in saying that these people are the best! DJ Flow was absolutely amazing! He did exactly what I wanted, which was have people dancing from start to finish, even before dinner was served! Our cake (By Ellie, Ellegant Cakes) was delicious and food (By Tim) was SO delicious and so much variety, definitely not typical wedding food, our flowers ( By Sue, Floral Cottage) and centerpieces were absolutely stunning and our photographer (Erin Peters Photography)was awesome! Everything came together so perfectly and I didn't have to do or worry about a thing! All of the staff was so helpful and nice. I definitely recommend getting married here. It will beyond your expectations and definitely better than a normal wedding banquet hall!
Thank you Orest and everyone else! Our wedding day couldn't have been more relaxed and beautiful. Orest and his staff took complete care of us from start to finish. We knew from the moment we visited it was the place for us. Our wedding and ceremony were at the Ardmore Mansion, not the ballroom. We also had our ceremony at the stone walls, instead of on the stairs. The interior is classic without being overbearingly ornate. Orest answered every one of my emails with patience and clear instruction. This is a family owned business and you can tell they truly love what they do.
Tim, the head chef, set up a call with us to go over our menu. Some of our bridal party and guests are vegetarian and he worked with us to make some apps and the caesar dressing edible for them. All of the food is fresh made. No outside catering. We heard from so many of our guests how great the food was. The filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat is actually what my husband and I both ordered for ourselves, instead of maybe sharing two different things, it was that good. Our package had a sundae bar to go along with the cake for desert. The cake is made by Elliegant Cakes. Ellie was a joy to work with, and the finished cake was delicious. She also set up non-alcoholic drinks for our guests, as well as made food for the bridal party while we were getting ready.
Every vendor we used was recommended by Orest. Sue at Floral Cottage did a wonderful job, as well as Ralph: DJ Flow. We also used The Studio for our Photo Booth and Jennifer Manzi for photography. All of the vendors, Mountain View Manor included, work together so much that it's like you are dealing with a family.
I highly recommend this venue. It's beautiful, classic, and laid back all at once. You will not be treated like a number. Nor will you feel pressured at any time. I had a few people tell me it was the most fun they had at a wedding, and I'm pretty sure they meant it.
I can't say enough positive, beautiful, wonderful things about Mountain View Manor and the Ardmore Mansion and staff. Our wedding was a dream and it's truly thanks to them.
We were looking for an old house or mansion where we could have a wedding weekend. We wanted a venue where we could stay and have our wedding party and family and guests stay. This venue was perfect for exactly that.
My husband found the Ardmore here online at The Knot. We had been looking around the Hudson Valley/Delaware Valley area. We drove up and met Orest who gave us a tour and selling points. The major clincher for me was that Orest didn't "sell" it. We had been places that felt like we were being 'sold' something. Orest just told us what the venue offered and the reviews and was so confident he didn't need to put on a show. And everything he said was true!
This is the email I wrote to Orest after our wedding. This should suffice as a review I think!!! We loved our wedding there, every guest said it was the best wedding they had been to and where on earth did we find this place! I'm so happy we picked Ardmore Mansion.
Orest,
I did not get to thank you personally this past weekend for our perfect wedding. We can't even tell you how many people asked how we found the place, about the food, about the cake and flowers.
The food! We loved every morsel Tim cooked. I didn't want to stop eating anything. The cocktail hour, rehearsal dinner, and especially the reception. My beef was cooked to perfection and one of my guests, who is a beef connoisseur, agreed it was absolutely marvelous.
Your vendors are truly top notch. Ellie, Sue, and Marcie were impeccable. Their services were perfect. Marcie made me feel beautiful and was so much fun to be around all morning. Ellie's cake was to die for. Sue's flowers were stunning and are still alive in our apartment!
Your staff is one of a kind. Oksana is a delight, don't let go of her ever! She made the day calm, organized, and wonderful. The rest of your staff was patient, funny, and incredibly kind. One of the bartenders, Victoria, even wrote a note in our 'guest book' that touched our hearts. Their standard of service was above and beyond any I have ever received.
Thank you for giving us our perfect dream wedding. We are so sad it's over because of how amazing it was and we won't get to go back to Mountain View any time soon! Although you may get some inquiries from our guests planning weddings because they fell in love with the place just as we did.
This place is the most perfect wedding venue, no joke! Everything gets figured out ahead of time, down to the minute, without any stress at all! The morning of the wedding I was literally sitting around doing nothing because they took care of everything. They even put up the decorations I brought! The food was beyond phenomenal, my family is still talking, a month later, about how great the food was, the cake was, just how great the entire day was. They loved the service, everyone was so friendly and relaxed, my wedding day had to be one of the least stressful days in my life because MountainView Manor was soooooo wonderful. I would really suggest that everyone look into this place. It is located on beautiful property with beautiful buildings, excellent service, food, and planning, it can't get any better!
I got married at MountainView Manor on 8/2/14. I honestly don't even know where to begin. It was truly my wedding dream come true. We spent the entire weekend on the grounds from the rehearsal dinner Friday evening to a Farewell Brunch on Sunday morning and everything was perfection. The grounds and venues (we used both the mansion and and ballroom) were exquisite and all the little touches I chose to add were incorporated into the setting beautifully by the staff. Orest (owner) was the epitome of professionalism and answered my every (and there were a lot!) question throughout the whole planning process, so when we arrived for the weekend, it was stress free and seamless. Oksana (maitre'd and point person during the festivities) was literally an angel sent from heaven. She calmed me when I was nervous, took care of business whenever I needed her to and was literally there every step of the way. Tim (the chef) was unbelievable and my guests are still talking about how incredible every bite of food was all weekend long! Sue from Floral Cottage did such in incredible job with the flowers, I honestly cried when I saw them. Ellie from Elliegant cakes made us not only a gorgeous cake that was exactly what I asked for, but it was delicious along with the Viennese Table that she put together for us. My new husband and I enjoyed every moment of our gorgeous wedding weekend and we are so grateful to MVM for making it so incredibly special for us. I will brag (in a good way, I promise) about my wonderful wedding and MVM for the rest of my life!
I am not even sure if there are words good enough to express how Awesome Mountain View Manor was ! Our guest are still raving about how they never had such a great time at a wedding! Orest was the best. He walked us through the whole processes one step at a time and was there to answer every and any question we had. Orest and the whole staff could not have been any better from the chef, to the waiters, to the matradee who I just loved ! Everything went so smooth from beginning to end they couldn't have made our wedding day anymore spectacular ! If you book with mountain view manor I would recommend using all of their vendors because they all just work so well together. Our wedding was a dream come true thanks to Orest and his staff at Mountain View Manor. I wish we could do it all again we truly had the time of our lives with many amazing memories to share for years to come
We got married at Mountain View Manor just this past July 18th. It was an amazing and fantastic day. Orest, Tim, Oksana, and their staff really made our wedding day proceed as smooth as possible. They were all very professional, friendly, and great people to work with. From the very beginning, when we were just inquiring about the venue, to the very end, when we left the manor after wedding day, Orest was a pleasure to work with. He is very accommodating and honest with you. He answered all my questions within reasonable amount of time throughout the entire planning. He worked with our budget to get us the best deal possible. There were many amenities that was included in the package we picked. We love the fact that everything we could have needed was provided and included (i.e. tables, linens, cake, dessert table) already. It made planning that much easier. Tim is awesome, very easy going. We met him first and he had given us the tour of the manor and made us feel at ease. He is an awesome chef. The food was delicious and presented so beautifully on our wedding day. He accommodated menu choices for our guest who had special dietary needs, which is a plus. Oksana did a wonderful job as maître d'. She is very helpful and made sure everything we wanted done on the day of the wedding was complete. She dealt with putting out our guestbooks, favors, and other accessories we had for our wedding then had everything packed away and left for us after the wedding. Also, Sue (our florist), Ellie (our "cake lady"), and Lisa (our officiant) were all a doll to work with. They are simply awesome people.
We love the fact that we had the whole mansion all to ourselves for all three days. We stayed Thursday night, wedding was Friday night, and left Saturday morning. The whole place was well-kept, clean, and had everything we could have needed. We had no problem checking in, even when it was very late (10pm). Orest took care of everything for us. Check out was a breeze. I love how the rooms were right upstairs, no need to worry about forgetting to bring anything that you may need during any part of the day. The only minor worry I had was how strict some of the rules had seemed and the low/spotty phone and wi-fi (wi-fi was free! a plus) service but everything worked out well in the end. It was truly wonderful. We had a such a blast on our wedding day as well as during our stay at the manor.
Thank you Orest for all the help you and your staff had given us, making our wedding day even more special. We really appreciate everything.
Ok I am going to be short because I had really high hopes for my wedding. Don't get me wrong, it was beautiful and unforgettable, but things could have run much more smoothly. First of all, I am probably the most easy going bride ever and the owner Orest made me feel uneasy with a couple of things. Warning: Do not have a Sunday wedding. They will treat you differently, for example until about a month before my wedding I was told we could rent the rooms outside of the mansion to our guests. Considering this was a huge part of the wedding since it was a destination for us this would have been helpful to know at booking Sunday weddings are not privy to those rooms. This was the biggest and most important reason we booked this place!! It has since been added to the website this is not available to Sunday weddings. Okay moving on. I was about 10 minutes late for my ceremony and was basically rushed by Orest to get outside so we can start cocktail hour. I wasn't sure what the huge deal was but I'll elaborate on this later on. P.S. our ceremony was a whole 10 mins long. Next thing..We were unable to make it to the tasting for the food so we winged it..no big deal. We unfortunately had a lot of comments on how bad the food was. I was surprised because I did not mind the proteins but the sides were soggy and flavorless. The twice baked potato was I think 6 times baked. But oh well, I wasn't too concerned about the food. Now here is where I got pissed, he ended our reception a half hour early. Cocktail hour was supposed to start at 5 and we get 5 hours from then. Since he rushed us out and our ceremony was only 10 mins long he started cocktail hour at 4:30 and made us cut our reception to end at 930. My DJ was even upset since he had more songs to play and he was told by Orest at 925p to end the reception. When guests asked what was going on he told them it is up to management. Lastly, my mother in law is quite upset because one the waitresses had photobombed all of her family pictures. Yes, funny for one photo but it happened to numerous ones. This place wasn't exactly cheap and I paid for my 5 hours.. my $500 10 minute ceremony on grounds and an additional 20% service fee. The least I could get was excellent service. What was great was Oxana our maitre d', she was perfect, her service was excellent and provided us with whatever we needed. She was calm and made me feel at ease. Ellie the cake maker was AMAZING!!!! She was the saving grace for this place and she could tell when I felt uncomfortable and made everything beautiful and great with her sweets! Sue our florist was outstanding! I have never seen such beautiful flowers. Tim the food guy was nice, his food was just lacking. All of the vendors mentioned are provided through the mansion. And I'll give Orest credit. He worked with us through e-mail since we were long distance and was helpful in that sense. This place would have gotten a 5 stars for location, beauty, and cost had these things not happened. At the end of the day I have beautiful pictures and memories and I loved my wedding I just would not have booked this place had I known these things would have happened.
Mountain View Manor was the first and only venue my husband and I visited when starting to plan our wedding. We had no need to look any further. We called Orest 2 hours after meeting with him to book our date. When you walk through the door, you get a sense of a casual elegance. It is beautifully decorated and maintained and is extremely welcoming. It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for. We could have our family and friends stay there with us, have the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, and reception all in one location, and have exceptional food and service. Orest works tirelessly to make sure that your day or weekend is perfect, and ours definitely was perfect. It is a weekend we will never forget and we thank Orest and his team for that! They thought of everything and were there to make sure all of our guests felt taken care of and had an amazing time. We know that you will not regret visiting and booking your wedding at Mountain View Manor!
A Fall wedding at the Ardmore mansion was breathtaking. The Mansion and grounds are beautiful. Wedding planner, James, is great and very helpful. Cocktail hour and dinner were bountiful and very good. The staff was professional and very attentive. Sue, from Floral cottage, does breathtaking flower arrangements. Desserts by Ellie left you wanting more.
We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. One change I would suggest. The coffee service is located on the dessert buffet. Guests have to walk with a plate of dessert and hot coffee back to their tables. Table service for coffee would be safer and more convenient for guests. A wonderful Venue!
MountainView Manor is everything it promises and more. The mansion, grounds, and views are beyond beautiful, but the service and stress free environment is what truly makes this venue one of a kind.
Everything was perfect for our wedding. Orest, the manager, is fantastic to work with. On my wedding day I didn't have to think or worry over anything because it was already taken care off. Our needs were anticipated expertly. Everything was set up exactly as I pictured and I never had to say a word. Several guests complimented us on the attentiveness of the wait staff and wedding coordinator, James. The entire day was timed and flawlessly executed thanks to an acute attentiveness to detail demonstrated by everyone who was a part of our wedding.
If you want your wedding to be perfect, MountainView Manor is the place to be. They're affordable while being absolutely professional, accommodating, and thoughtful. There's a reason that they keep winning awards; they will exceed your expectations.
The Mountainview Manor in Glen Spey, NY is the very BEST wedding venue in New York! I had my wedding there Saturday September 29, 2012 and they worked incredibly hard to make that day the most memorable and drama free. From the moment my guests arrived they were greeted by a wonderful staff catering to every one of our needs. James is a genuine kind person who works hand in hand to answer any question and fulfill any wish concerning your wedding day. He answers your emails immediately and is so flexible with allowing you to make your wedding day be all about who you are! He understands the stress of planning a wedding and is extremely sincere with pricing and always puts the customers benefit above all. He treated my husband and I with the utmost respect and consideration, which in the business world is of much value. If you are looking for a wedding venue that makes the planning process easy and truly enjoyable Mountainview Manor and their staff is the way to go.
We enjoyed our wedding and the site is gorgeous! Our guests had a great time too. The wait staff was amazingly friendly and the chef, Tim, did an amazing job with our food (even though we threw him a curve ball and asked for something off the menu, he knocked it out of the ball park, amazing!). James, the exclusive wedding coordinator (J-Angelo Events) was great and helped me out throughout the day. They also have a great list of vendors that you can choose from if you want… and you would want to after working with them. We used Ralph aka DJ Flow who had my guests dancing the whole night, no joke; Ellie (from Elliegant Cakes) made such a delicious and amazing cake, she is one of the warmest and welcoming people you will meet, not only did she stick around the whole night to set up our viennese table, she left us a sampler of all the deserts in our room just in case we didn’t have time to try everything; Susan Smith (from Floral Cottage) was also extremely nice and welcoming, did such a wonderful job with our bouquets and with beautifying the place with her lovely flowers. My guests and I booked up every room in the manor and motel. Only the bridal suite has AC but it's not really needed b/c it gets cold at night. According to my guests the motel rooms were "okay nothing fancy", but convenient. The rest of my guests stayed in Matamoras. Of course nothing is perfect and there were a few things that went down that affected what could have been a perfect score. __________________ One important lesson to be learned here is that it is just as important to treat the bride and groom’s family and friends with as much respect and goodness as you would treat the bride and groom themselves. ____________________THE PROBLEM______: My mother-in-law was treated rudely at the rehearsal and my own brother was treated poorly on the day of the wedding by the manager, Orest. I asked my brother to plan the after party since he threw parties before that were very successful. I understand that there was a misunderstanding between Orest and my brother with the after party plans (the manager told my brother hours before the ceremony that he couldn't do any of the things that he had been planning on the manor's property ) but the manager could have helped out a little more than he did so my brother wouldn’t miss half of our wedding trying to put together last minute plans. Orest could have also treated him better considering that he messed up his plans so close to the wedding. The manager said that he did provide alternatives but from what I gathered at past meetings we had with him they involved people sitting around talking, drinking and then going to bed since he said people would be so tired from the busy day. My family aren’t the type of people that tire so quickly and I’m not much for spending an after party just winding down... it's called an after party for a reason. Plus even though the beds in the manor are super firm and I barely slept the night before in them, I wasn't tired at all after the reception ended. ***** -1 star for the treatment of my loved ones. ***** -1 star for calling my brother a liar and a poor planner on an email you send to my husband thinking I wouldn’t find out about it. (FYI my brother fought in Irac. He was in charge of several men and kept them alive and you can’t do that with poor planning. It was his awesome planning that he pulled together a great after party somewhere else after his original plans were denied)
The Mountain View Manor is THE PLACE to have your wedding! My husband and I took one look at this place and fell in love. It is a little piece of heaven. The Manor is an amazing place and the grounds are beautiful. However, we found on our wedding day that it is staff that definitively sets this place apart.
Orest, the general manager, covers every single detail and will bend over backwards to make sure your special day surpasses your expectations. For example, my sister, the maid of honor ran out of formula for her baby during the reception. When we asked Orest where the closest store would be to buy formula, he didn’t just give my sister’s boyfriend directions he actually drove him to the store and back.
James , the wedding planner, does an outstanding job with decorations and an even better job when it comes time to take care of the bride and her bridesmaids. When I walked into the Manor for the first time on my wedding day, I was anxious to see what it would look like. It was BEAUTIFUL, I could not have even dreamed it better. James was right there with every detail from setting it up all the way through the reception. He was at our side making sure we were enjoying ourselves and had everything we could possibility need.
Tim is a phenomenal chef. We received a lot of compliments around how good the food was. There were plenty of options around the menu options and Tim welcomed the ‘off-the-menu’ items that we asked him to prepare. We love that he uses fresh seasonal ingredients and the presentation was beautiful. The food was served in a timely manner and we heard a lot of compliments about the level of detail and coordination exhibited by the staff. I wish I had Tim to cook for me every night! Even after the reception was over Tim was there to help make sure we had everything we wanted or needed for our after party.
Ellie the Cake Lady! Ellie is top notch. We had a lot of compliments around how gorgeous the cake was…. And even more around how it tasted. It was moist and flavorful – not like most other wedding cakes we’ve had. This was def not your traditional wedding cake, it is actually delicious! Ellie was even kind enough to bring a slice of cake up to our room for us to enjoy after the wedding celebration came to an end. And what is a slice of cake without an ice cream station! Yes, the Mountain View Manor also provides your guests with an ice cream station…. with lots of toppings. Our guests loved it.
We were thoroughly impressed with all the vendors from the Mountain View Manor list. As far as music, we chose to use a DJ that was not on the recommended vendor list and were unpleasantly surprised. If we could go back and do it again, we would have gone with DJ Ralph. We can’t encourage you enough to stick with the recommended vendors. The Mountain View Manor will not disappoint!
My wife and I would highly recommend Mountain View Manor for a wedding celebration/destination! Orest in the office, James, the wedding planner, Tim the chef, and the other recommended vendors (flowers, music) all did an outstanding job. We had 120 guests, all of whom were extremely complimentary of the grounds which were immaculately groomed, the beautiful mansion in which the celebration was held, and the expertise in which the station wedding was presented. The wait staff was plentiful and extremely polite. Not one person had a negative comment about any of the celebration from start to finish. The overnight accommodations were beautiful and extremely clean, and the brunch that followed the next morning was outstanding and plentiful. The after hours party capped a wonderful event, and allowed us to mingle with our guests casually after the four hour celebration. Many guests commented that they can't recall such an outstanding event from start to finish; all made possible by the owners and courteous staff at Mountain View Manor.
I don't even know where to begin! Orest and everyone at Mountain View exceed expectations. You can see from the pictures how breath taking the mansion is (as well as the property) but what you can't see is the amount of work and dedication they put into each wedding. Their coordinator James Angelo is out of this world. He lets no detail go unnoticed. When I saw all the special touches he added I was shocked- purple bows on the walls in the mansion, wrapped vases for our bouquets, ribbon on the railings, the tops of mums carefully arranged at the end of the aisle, and so many more details. They were on top of everything, James saw I was out of wine and before I could get up he had a new glass for me. I didn't have to worry about timing and when things were going to happen, they had it under control and the night transitioned seemlessly. Their chef Tim is a genious! The filet mignon was cooked beautifully, mine a pefect rare, and my mother in laws a perfect and still moist well, I didn't even think a well done steak could be moist, but he did it! The vendors they reccommend are just as incredible as they are, its no wonder they are suggesting them! Elliegant cakes, so delicious! Zen Photography, out of this world pictures! DJ Flow from Hot Traxx kept people on the dance floor all night. Marcie from Exclusively Yours hair and makeup is a riot, she does amazing hair and makeup but is also a really fun person to be around. We've gotten nothing but compliments on everything, and if I could do it all over again I'd pick Mountain View and the rest of their friends every single time.
After planning our wedding for more than 18 months, we were extremely nervous. That day September 16th 2012 the weather was a perfect 72 degrees. I arrived after my wife to find the leaves changing colors. The scenery was perfect with the manors breathtaking views and rolling hills. I met with James the Manors exclusive Wedding Coordinator who I thought was heaven sent by the end of the night. The ceromy was so beautiful. Having it outside was spectacular!!!. The rest of the day was like a perfect dream that would never end. The DJ Ralph from Hot Traxx Entertainment spun a party ou wouldn't believe.Tim the Manors exclusive Chef cooked up a dinner that had my guest asking for more. There is no catered food here!! Tim cooks everything fresh at that moment. I recommend the stuffed filet of sole with crabmeat. Delicious!!!!. I'm not done yet!!!. My cake lady Elie. We love you. Your lemon cake with fresh raspberries is the best. Susan the flower coordinator!!!. Her flowers were just perfect. We met with her and weren't to sure of what exactly we wanted. We knew we wanted a fall theme. She assured us not to worry. Those center pieces and everything else was just perfect. The great thing about the Manor was that all of its vendors are exclusive to the manor. We didnt have to go crazy searching for anyone. They were all so nice and proffessional. By the end of the wedding, I think just about everyone of my guest told me that this was the best wedding they had attended. I can't forget Orest the manager. You are a true proffessional. Thank You for making our wedding the most wonderful and unforgettable day of our lives. We never imagined it would be that PERFECT!!!!
If you are looking for a one of a kind wedding experience, Mountain View Manor is the place to go. Their attention to detail, service and accommodations are unique. Nik and I had our wedding here on 8/11/12 and we couldn't be happier. All the staff and vendors made our dream wedding come true. The grounds are so picturesque, the service is outstanding and the food is truly amazing. Orest, James and Tim made sure our day was picture perfect. All the vendors they recommended were top notch: Sue from floral cottage, Ellie from elliegantcakes , breanne from frost photography,Dalen from choice DJs and Robert knowles from knowles media all made our day one to remember. Not to mention all the staff on hand at the manor who were extremely wonderful as well. I only hope to be invited to another wedding at Mountain View so I can experience it all over again. Any bride and groom would be happy with this wonderful, magical, and special site for their wedding.
Dear Orest,
We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to you and your amazing staff/ vendors for all that was done to make kristin's wedding a dream come true. Magical moments are being created at Ardmore mansion each time you all go into "wedding mode"! I hope you had the chance to listen in to all the accolades, since they were flowing all night long - in case you didn't i just want to share a few - "majestic", "this is the best wedding i've ever been to", the most romantic wedding ever","the most delicious food", "the best cake/desserts i've ever tasted","impeccable service", "if anyone has a problem with this amazing place or their food, there is something wrong with them!" You hit the jackpot with James - outstanding wedding planner - and Tim - chef extraordinaire - their passion/ talent for what they do is obvious in everything they do. The floral arrangements were a work of art and beauty. I could go on and on.. i will simply say picture perfect in every way. My mom had the funniest one, i think, she said... if i didn't know any better I would have thought you were millionaires.!!!! We wish you continued success for many years to come. Sincerely, Sally&Harold Siegriest
we had an amazing experience with MVM. orest and his staff made the entire wedding planning experience relaxing and easy. everyone was genuinely nice and helpful.
we were married in late july, mvm grounds were beautiful and the atmosphere is very relaxing. the cocktail hour was on the mansion porch and was a awesome way to begin a fun evening. the food was delicious and the cocktails were fabulous! our family and friends continue to tell us what an amazing time they had! our only complaint is it went by to quick!
thanks again!
The reviews you read about MountainView Manor sound too good to be true, but this place is seriously awesome. Want an outdoor ceremony? Ok. Indoor? Fine. Smaller reception hall? Bigger reception hall? Both are available. There are rooms upstairs for your guests to stay over. The bridal suite is beautiful. The people who run the place are very professional but also make sure you give you tons of personalized attention. The Mansion only has one wedding a week, so you won't feel like your wedding is just a mass-produced party to be copied the following day. The recommended vendors are recommended for a reason. They rule. DJ Flow, Ellie with Elliegant Cakes, Breanne Frost with Frost Photography and of course J-Angelo event planning all made our wedding day the best day of my life (seriously). There were no complaints from any guests, and certainly not from us! I can't wait to go to another wedding at the Mansion.
Words cannot explain how smoothly our June 9th wedding went and how grateful I am for Orest and James. My husband and I had traveled over an hour to visit MountainView Manor based on an advertisement in The Knot Magazine. After seeing the beautiful mansion, we booked our wedding that day for 18 months away. As the time went on, my e-mails to Orest and James became more and more frequent and loaded with questions. The e-mails and voicemails were answered swiftly and efficiently and in a calming matter. No question was too big or too silly to be addressed. I felt confident that our wedding was in good hands.
The night before our Saturday wedding, we had our rehearsal dinner there and a few friends and family stayed over night. The next morning, as the rest of the bridal party came to get their hair and makeup done by Marcie Haas, we felt like we had the mansion to ourselves. While realizing in the bridal suite, I was unaware of all the hard work going on outside and in the Black Sea Ballroom.
When I finally saw the ceremony garden space and the ballroom, it was as if Orest, James and Floral Cottage went into my dreams and decorated the room. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined.
During the ceremony and reception, Orest and James were close by for a question and flawlessly directing from behind the scenes.
All of my guest commented on the stunning and unique venue and the unbelievably delicious food. While I don't eat seafood, many of my well traveled guests noted it was some of the best seafood they had ever tasted. I was too busy to eat more than a few pieces of (tasty) steak! We used the Station Package (suggested by Orest) as a compromise between a too casual buffett but too stuffy sit down dinner.
Our guests ate, drank and danced the night away and the Mansion and outlying rooms were filled with happy people that night! ... Bridal suite included :)
The next morning we said our goodbyes over a continental breakfast and too my surprise, many of my things (cake and topper) were packed up and ready to go for me!
Orest and James were very accommodating to my frequent questions and involvement of many family members. It was a beautiful wedding that our guests, families and ourselves will always remember.
Thank you!
I can not recommend Mountain View Manor enough. I was married in the "garden" area of the mansion on May 26th. Both my cocktail hour and reception were held there as well. This was the first wedding in my family to be held all in one spot and I couldn't have been thanked enough about that decision! Everything flowed so smoothly from one segment of our day to the next, all thanks to the amazing staff at the mansion. I wanted our wedding to feel nothing but romantic, and that was exactly what I got. MVM has the most amazing vendors that they work with and Sue from Floral Cottage went above and BEYOND with my flowers. It felt and looked like I was married in the Secret Garden. The flowers continued into the "lobby" of the mansion, there were flowers on every mantle, in every room (even our guests rooms) and of course on the gorgeous table scapes made by James of J-Angelo event planning. James is another amazing asset to the Mansion, he is the glue to everything running so smoothly. The food is A-MAZ-ING. The chef, Tim, is a gift from culinary heaven. My guests are still talking about the food!! And lets not forget the dessert. Not only did I have the most amazing wedding cake from Ellie of Elli-gant Cakes (Three different flavors might I add) but we also had an ice cream sundae bar that my guests raved over! My guests and I danced all night, my husband even got into it!! There was just no helping it, Ralph-DJ Flow, really knew how to get everyone moving. Any vendor that Orest suggested to us we went with. He is so tentative to the details and picky about who works at his venue that I completely trusted anything that he had to say and I do not regret that decision at all! Even down to our photographer, Christina of Zen Photography. CAN NOTTT recommend her enough!! We had the most amazing wedding day and it's all thanks to everyone at Mountain View Manor!
We had a great experience, and could not give enough thanks to the staff and vendors! They were very professional and helpful. Orest and James made our day go smoothly, and guided us through the whole process. We were very lucky; and our guests gave us nothing but praise for our choice of venue. Thank you so much!!!!
“This is the wedding to end all weddings!” “This is the best wedding I’ve ever been to!” “I can’t even get married now after going to this wedding because there’s no way to compete with this!” These are just a few of the compliments my husband and I received from our guests during our May 19 wedding at Mountain View Manor in Glen Spey, NY. If you select MVM as your wedding venue, you and your guests will feel like you are having an elaborate party at your family’s private country estate. Whisk your guests away for a weekend of serenity and fun. The food is fresh and delicious, the venue is beautiful, and the service is beyond accommodating. You will enjoy crystal glassware, premium beer on tap, and endless gorgeous backdrops for your wedding photos. Your guests do not want to go to a “wedding factory,” nor do they want to have to worry about driving from place to place during your wedding day. Give them a mini-vacation close to home where your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party, and overnight accommodations are all in the same place. The spacious MVM has separate areas for all of these components to keep your guests interested and amazed. I sincerely recommend the MVM to even the most discriminating brides and grooms without the slightest reservation.
My husband Matthew and I recently had our wedding reception at the Ardmore Mansion in Glen Spey, NY on October 15, 2011. The reception was FAR beyond our expectations. It was absolutely perfect! We held our cocktail hour in the mansion where our guests mingled and remarked on the beautiful architecture and the stunning grand stair case in the main lobby. The incredibly attentive staff passed hours devours and they were so welcoming to our guests. As the bridal party arrived and grouped to take pictures, the owner, Orest, immediately approached my husband and I to ask what we would like to drink throughout the night– and even kept a very nice bottle of champagne on reserve just for us! While were taking pictures one very attentive server followed us around with a tray of hours devours just for our liking! At the tail-end of the cocktail hour, we were approached to lead our guests into the ballroom for dinner. They wanted Matthew and I to arrive first for a sneak-peak. They had a golf-cart waiting outside and as our guests flowed from the mansion to the ballroom we sped by beeping the horn! It was a big laugh had by all. The ballroom was absolutely breath taking. J-Angelo, the wedding planner, and his awesome staff transformed this room into a dream – and I’m not one of those girls to watch “My Fair Wedding” but let me tell you they could have filmed an episode there! Aside from setting the ambiance, J-Angelo was there for my every need and even saved the day as my bustle broke three times. My girls couldn’t get it to stick – he secured it within five minutes and I danced the night away! We have received nothing but kudos from our friends and family. So many people were just amazed by the whole experience and EVERYONE raved about the cake and the food. Ellie made the most ELLIGANT cake we have ever seen and she was there to cut and serve and just be on hand to make sure the entire evening flowed. Head Chef Tim and his AWESOME team laid out the most beautiful, savory stations with food a-plenty! In fact, our friends booked a karaoke after party in the mansion pub and Tim packed up food to send over for our after party! Truly exceptional professional service, I cannot thank them enough. If we could give fifty stars, we would give fifty-one.
When planning our wedding, Mountain View was our top and only choice for the reception. We had used this venue to host a family party a few years prior and received rave reviews from our guests. We held our reception in the ballroom and it turned out beautifully. Every detail was perfect and our guests could not stop complimenting the whole event. Many commented that this was the best wedding reception with the best food that they ever attended. For us, this was a perfect event, despite un unexpected October blizzard. We will never forget this special day and we thank Orest and his staff from the bottom of our hearts.
Our wedding was 9/17/11 and we had a beautiful day! Orest, James, and the rest of the crew were amazing. They had everything set up just as we envisioned it and even more! Everything flowed wonderfully and James and Orest were totally on the ball and helped make our day so special!
Our wedding was on Oct 8, 2011. If you would like a secluded spot for a wedding weekend getaway, this is your place. Orest really made it seem like it was our wedding at our own private estate.
The staff was accomodating, helpful, and genuininely nice. The mansion itself was beautiful!!!!! The grounds, especially during the fall were breathtaking. GREAT FOR PICTURES!!
We had the rehearsal dinner in the ballroom on Friday. Food was good, scene was great, and it turned into a big dance party.
The cocktail hour was in the mansion, again great space and food, especially with the GORGEOUS outdoor tables.
The reception was down at the adjacent building. We had luminaries lighting the path to the other building. SOOO BEAUTIFUL!! The reception ballroom was lit with grogeous chandeliers. The bar was separate from the dance floor which was a great setup. The food...the food was OUTSTANDING and abundant!! We chose the stations option which was well worth the money! SOOO much food! We even had an after party in the bar area with delicious fried food. Bottom line...if you want the wedding of your dreams for an affordable price..this is the place for you. They managed to fulfill every dream I have ever had for my wedding! It was perfect! I still have people calling me just to tell me our wedding was the best wedding they have ever been to!! =) Thanks MV Manor crew!!
Our wedding at The Ardmore Mansion at the Mountainview Manor was truely the most memorable day of our lives! Orest and his exceptional staff are professional, curious, enthusiastic and attentive. The cocktail hour in the Mansion was intimate and elegant. Guests enjoyed the scenic late summer views from the deck or enjoyed staying inside in the Victorian-meets-Chic style lobby/bar area. Our 100+ guests enjoyed the reception in the Mansion, which had a real dancefloor next to a decorated fireplace and mantle. We were treated to first-class food from a first-class chef! The bar staff served top shelf drinks and absolutely catered to our every need. We continued to the after-reception party in the bar, listening to fantastic irish music by The Parting Glass. Orest and his staff continued their top-notch service well into the evening. He is a true professional and will take care of every detail, starting at your very first meeting with him! The Mountainview Manor exudes class and charm! I would highly recommend The Mountainview anyone who wants a memorable and stress-free event.
Greg and I had our wedding at the Ardmore Mansion - Montain View Manor on October 1st, 2011. Everything was absolutely perfect on our wedding day thanks to Orest, James, and the rest of the Mansion Team... Everyone catered to our every need and most importantly everyone felt comfortable... The food was delicious - all of our guests commented on how good the food was, the hospitatilty of everyone at the mansion was thee best. We couldn't have asked for as better wedding.. It truly was a dream come true, thanks to everyone at the Mansion!!!! xoxoxo
I want to start off by saying that MountainView Manor was an absolute GEM and our wedding was more than we could have ever asked for! We found MountainView on the knot and we planned a tour to see the grounds with the owner, Orest. Orest was awesome, absolutely awesome. Orest helped us be as creative as we wanted and worked with us to add our unique touches to the whole day.We loved all that MountainView had to offer -- beautiful scenary, big ballroom, attached bar for an afterparty, huge picturesque patio for cocktail hour and a wonderful outdoor setting for the ceremony. We had our rehersal dinner there (everyone loved the food), the ceremony (everyone thought it decorated perfectly), reception (food was great, service was awesome), after-party (bartenders stayed as late as we wanted them to!) and goodbye brunch (delicious again!) all on the grounds. I would highly recommend MountainView to anyone. Also, there is a ton of space on the grounds to sleep as well as in the area so you can make it a weekend getaway. We only have one gripe about the entire experience that did not at all impact the wedding day. The wedding planner that comes free with booking a wedding there, James at J-Angelo Event Planning, is arrogant and RUDE. After he disrespected my wife for no reason, we decided against using him at all. Orest completely understood, had a discussion with him and gave 110% to make sure everything went off without a hitch. From my experience, the wedding planner at J-Angelo was NOT necessary to the process and should be probably replaced with someone that acts more like an adult.
Rustic & Charming
The Ardmore Mansion at MountainView Manor is gorgeous! My wedding was amazing!! The staff worked so hard and were very friendly. We had such a great day!!!!!
My husband and I cannot thank the MountainView Manor enough for doing such a wonderful job at our wedding! Not only did we have an absolutely fabulous time, but we had many, many guests come up and tell us that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. We only received tremendous feedback. The service from Orest, James, and the staff was top-notch. They did an outstanding job! Anytime we needed something, we had it before we even had time to ask for it. I remember on a few occasions that my husband would ask for a glass of champagne, and before he even returned, I already had a glass in hand. That type of service really made us feel so special. We really appreciated their hard work and courtesy. The day went about as smoothly as we could have hoped for (even the weather was perfect!). The food and drink was great and plentiful. Certainly, nobody complained about leaving hungry or sober :-)
The MountainView Manor helped to make our day so memorable. We will definitely recommend the MountainView Manor to anyone we know getting married. :-)
Sincerely,
Megan & Ben
Our wedding was 3 weeks ago, 6/11/11. I found Mountain View Manor 3 years ago while working for a local radio station and had kept it in the back of my mind for when my now husband popped the question. I knew immediately where I wanted to have my wedding reception when the proposal happened in 2009. The simple elegance of the Manor is what drew me in; not over done in any way, simply beautiful and elegant. My husband and I had the time of our lives and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Orest is simply the best and very helpful! James surprised me with little details like candles on the mantle in the ballroom and draping from chandelier to chandelier. Additionally, I have heard nothing but good things from our guests regarding food, service and overall awe at the Manor and its history. Overall 6second review: Food AMAZING, Service Above Par!, Décor romantic & elegant. You will not be disappointed in the Mountain View Manor!
My husband and I, we had our wedding this past August 2010 at Ardmore Mansion at Mountain View Manor. We couldn’t have been happier in our choice of location. What a gorgeous, romantic, welcoming and peaceful place that is!!!
We knew exactly what we wanted at our wedding and how we wanted our wedding to go. Our biggest concern was the food. In our culture, when somebody has a wedding, there is a lot a lot of food on the tables, and that is exactly what we needed Orest and his staff to deliver at our wedding. And they sure did! The food was unbelievable!!! We received so many compliments about the food from all of our guests. And not only about the food: everyone loved the location, the scenery, they mentioned how nice all the staff at the mansion was …etc. A lot of parents who came to our wedding with kids told us how happy they were with this location, because they felt like their kids could run around outdoors and at the same time be safe. So many guests LOVED the deck with all the food!!! Throughout the dinner our guests had a chance of stepping out outside on the deck, but it was especially beautiful
when the sun came down and our guests enjoyed the most delicious food and drinks of their choice, sitting down and breathing in that healthy air, while enjoying the food, the music and nature around it.
Our demands were definitely high, but Orest and James more than exceeded our expectations. We want to thank first of all to Orest, James and his dad as well as to all the staff who pulled it together and made that day as beautiful as it was.
The minute we stepped into the Mansion, we felt the love, understanding and the care. Our room was just beautiful! Once again, we couldn’t have picked the more beautiful, romantic and peaceful location!

My husband and I both agree that we couldn't have chosen a better location for our wedding (10.30.10)! From the moment we stepped onto Mountain View Manors property we knew it was a perfect fit for us. We held our cocktail hour at the mansion - it was intimate cozy yet elegant - all the things we were looking for! We then took our 130 guests down to the Black Sea Ballroom for our reception! Jaws dropped when they walked into the room! From the tablecloths and chair covers to the crystals and draping hanging from the chandeliers it was the most beautiful room I have ever seen! I had more compliments on the food and service and my guests are calling Mouantain View a "hidden gem"! Thanks to James and Orest our wedding was more than we could have EVER imagined! I would highly recommend Mountain View to ANY bride! You won't be disappointed - the team of professionals will go above and beyond to make sure your day is perfect!
MountainView Manor was THE perfect location for our wedding offering an elegant venue in a scenic country setting.
It truly is a destination wedding that is close to home.
Our families and wedding party loved spending the weekend in the beautiful Ardmore Mansion for the weekend.
The vast wooded property and nearby lake offered amazing backdrops for our photos.
The owner, Orest, and all of the vendors and staff were so accommodating and easy to work with.
The food served in generous portions at cocktail hour and for dinner was so delicious!
Our guests are still raving about their entire experience at our wedding.
We would highly recommend The Mountain View to anyone planning a wedding.
They will go above and beyond to make your special day unforgettable!
