We held our Indian wedding reception at The Atrium in Bushwick in October 2022 and I'm so grateful we did. The three levels of open space allow for any creative vision to come to life.
With 3500 square feet and an outdoor patio, the space, views and value are unmatched in NYC. We rented out the entire space (rooftop, main space, outdoor patio and basement) and brought in our own decor, caterer, music and lighting and photography vendors. All the Atrium staff was courteous, professional and worked hard to execute on every little detail we wanted. They worked with our external vendors to make sure everyone would be on the same page for the event. There were no day-of mishaps because the Atrium ensured they thoroughly prepared to handle our guests, vendors and itinerary flawlessly.
However, the biggest reason we had an incredible reception was because of Ivana Andreani-Fabroni, a consultant for The Atrium. Ivana went above and beyond to work with us to create our dream reception. She was great at communicating and explaining all of our options, helped us understand pricing, helped us create a weather-related back up plan (which we ended up needing because of Hurricane Ian!). She was incredibly flexible and helped connect us to excellent vendors for staging (Shades of Gray) and bartending services (WSJ Bartending). She thought of every last detail to the point where I felt like she was a wedding planner in her past life! Her experience and advice was invaluable and she was so fun to work with. That may seem trivial but wedding planning is chaotic and stressful. No matter how much help you have from family or a wedding planner, having thoughtful and intelligent people like Ivana in your corner makes a world of difference. From the amount of time she gave us over the 9 month planning period, to us never having to chase her down for help or answers to questions, it was clear she cared about us as more than just clients of the Atrium. She sincerely wanted us to have the best reception possible. She helped us maximize and transform each inch of the space into something more than we could have hoped for.
Two months later and our family & friends still speak of how much fun they had at our reception. Every cent and minute spent at The Atrium was well worth it. 1000/10 recommend hosting your events here and try to work with Ivana!
First, how do you say SCREW a bride on her wedding day. GIVE A TOUR OF THE VENUE during her wedding!! while I was taken pictures with family & wedding party! Never was I informed about the tour, did not apologize in the moment and did not apologize when I brought it up after my wedding, I was told an oversight. Again never apologized or even mention during the oversight would it be ok. SO I WAS AD FOR THE MOST HORRIBLE VENUE MANAGER EVER2-The venue Manager GINA is nasty, rude, unhelpful and a Lair. only after booking the venue you will see the real side of her and the unwillingness to go above and beyond Gina intimidated my day of coordinator by calling many times on my wedding day to ensure HER team was not helping do anything extra outside of contracted, I called on my wedding day about parking which was the one thing I stress about and was told on my wedding day by the venue manager GIna, what did I want her to do about it. And Lies I have many messages of lies, one message no one at the venue until 12:30 or later to let in vendors, another text her team was on site since 10am trying to get parking. it was very clear Gina had given her team clear instructions not to help any way Gina was the most unhelpful EVER. I had vendors asking about lighting for the Venue her reply I don't know My mother asked is she had extra tape to help tape the floor wrap better, her reply "that's not my job"My vendors set my ceremony on time, Gina team was to set the chairs by 3pm, 4:45 the CHAIRS WERE SET My mother (mother of the bride) my sister ( maid of honor) was setting out chairs causing them to miss photo time and myself lose paid time for pictures. This is only the beginning!!Broken tables form Venue nominated supplier, no one from the venue was on site to ensure the tables were stable enough for people to sit NO ONE cares enough to ensure for a WEDDING!My contract was until 12:30 reception, she told her team to turn off my music at 12am! I told Brandon I had until 12:30 his reply the music had to be turned down!! Once again me having to defend myself on my wedding day.
A laundry list of NOTHING to keep my deposit. Pictures of cups and plates on the table ( NOT FLOOR) no damage to venue no mess on the floors - but cups and plates on the table "left a disaster" in Gina words. Garbage charges - pics of garbage packed up to be taken out, in GINA words" were not discarded" the venue does not hold a full kitchen, Gina gave instructions to the cleaning crew to clean to wash the plates, they followed her instructions AGAIN THE SINK CANNOT obviously hold the capacity to clean dishes, the sink was clogged, the venue staff was notified and DID NOTHING, but of course a list of absolutely ridiculous nonsense to keep my deposit.Gina will promise you everything as "SALES" will and then leading up you will get a real reality of just of a horrible person she is!! AGAIN WHO GIVES A TOUR DURING MY WEDDING!!!!!I paid extra for 175 ghost chairs, only 135 were ordered!!!!!!How can someone be this evil to do nothing and I mean NOTHING to ensure a women wedding day would go smoothly. Gina never asked anything else you need, can I help with anything, Gina clear instructions were do NOT do anything!!!The mental stress I endured on my wedding day, losing time for pictures I paid for, often leaving my entire bridal party and vendors in shock from behavior. A beautiful venue would have such an evil person as Gina, she needs to be removed to not do this to any other bride....
We originally booked the Atrium early this year for a summer wedding. This venue was extremely flexible with us given the chaos of Covid, and gave us the choice of either a new date or full refund. We decided to utilize their rooftop on 10.3 for an intimate ceremony and reception, and I am SO happy we did! The rooftop is large with a breeze, and all of my guests felt comfortable. Gina was great at planning the layout for both the short ceremony and buffet style reception, and even filled in with a projection/speaker vendor last minute.
Overall a great experience. We would definitely recommend The Atrium as one of the venues that really cares. Thank you again!!
First, I have to say we were a bit jaded heading into this process, as our former venue closed on short notice. From the first visit, though, we were in love! The amount of space alone eased our fears as we were looking to have everything on site. They even had a separate area where my bridal party could have hair/makeup done.
We ended up renting the space raw and bringing in our own vendors. The support staff was amazing between coordinating all of the logistics and suggesting vendors as we filled in the gaps. They hit the ground running and pulled it off!! We would definitely recommend
We hosted a last minute engagement party on the rooftop of the Atrium earlier this month, and it was absolutely perfect! Gina is an amazing professional who you can tell truly cares. We had 2 weeks to plan catering, DJ, rentals, and they were able to pull it off to truly give us a special day after such a crazy year.
We would recommend The Atrium in a heartbeat!
