Horrible venue! It was filthy with bird poop all over inside and dog poop all over outside. Restroom trailer did not have hot water so no one washed their hands or they risked frostbite. For the cost of the place it could at least have been clean.
Our daughter had her wedding there on 06-17-2023, and if you haven’t booked this venue, I highly recommend you do!!! Hannah is amazing to work with, she kept us posted on everything, and having her do the day of coordinating made the day run smoothly!!
The venue was decorated so beautifully and our guests loved every bit of it!
I’d definitely use this venue again if I had to plan another wedding!
We really had the best experience with this venue. We only toured one venue for our wedding and instantly knew this was the spot for us. It has the perfect rustic feel, with a certain elegance that all of our guests are still talking about. What we loved was that the barn was a barn turned into a venue, and not a barn made to be a venue. We also loved that it is family-owned (by some really really sweet people).
Hannah and her mom are absolutely amazing. They went above and beyond to make this the perfect day for us, starting months out from the wedding day. I highly recommend adding on the event coordination as it helped answer a lot of questions and eliminated a lot of stress.
I HIGHLY recommend this venue!!!
My husband and I along with our families – will sing praises for the Barn at Bunker Hill as a venue. When we first toured the Barn at Bunker Hill – we knew it was the perfect venue for our intimate, romantic wedding. Hannah and Angie are fantastic to work with – quickly replying to our questions while providing industry advice. When covid-19 broke out in March/April (our wedding scheduled for September), Hannah quickly outlined our options of choosing a back-up date at no additional costs and that we would have until 45 days prior to make a decision. Thankfully, the state opened prior to our wedding and the Barn at Bunker Hill did a fantastic job at ensuring guests had the option to social distance (tables 6 feet apart, hand sanitizer throughout the venue, etc.). One of the greatest perks, aside from the multiple levels – was the new tent the Barn installed prior to our wedding. It is amazing!
My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience with the Barn at Bunker Hill. From our initial look at their website and our first tour to our wedding day, Hannah and Angie were extremely informative, kind, and helpful. They were always available to answer any of our questions, even wedding-related questions that did not specifically pertain to the venue. They were truly made for this job!
The staff has done an amazing job thinking of ways to make the Barn even more incredible with the new space upstairs, the open house with the Q&A session, the decor they let people borrow, and the new touches to the ceremony space, while still preserving the history of the Barn. They also keep you fully informed throughout the entire process of any changes that are being made.
Everyone on our wedding day was shocked at how calm we both were, and I believe that Hannah and Angie kept our nerves at bay with all of their help throughout our entire planning process. We had looked at other venues, but nowhere else even compared to the Barn at Bunker Hill and the amazing staff that run it.
We could not have imagined our wedding day anywhere else, and thanks to the staff at the Barn we will forever have the most amazing memories from our wedding day. We will always recommend the Barn to any couples looking for a wedding venue!
Hannah and Angie and the staff at the Barn were absolutely amazing to work with. We planned our wedding over approximately 17 months and the owners were always an email away. If they were changing anything in our around the barn during that time (decor, bridal parlor, ceremony space, and additional packages for purchase) they were honest and quick to inform us. They were more than welcoming during the rehearsal and especially on our wedding day. We had the chance of rain on the day of the wedding so we waited until almost 12 for our 4pm ceremony to set up the chairs in the ceremony space and the additional dinner seating in the main barn; they did it all. I can't say enough about the staff during our reception. The bartenders were friendly and the barn staff were quick to tidy tables for us. The barn was clean, dry, and beautifully lit with tiny lights all over; it was dreamy. There was no air conditioning or indoor plumbing. HOWEVER, included in our rental fee was an air conditioned portable bathroom which was very nice. My friends and family had the most amazing time. They still talk about the barn and the wonderful people who helped us on our big day. I can't say enough about this wonderful local family and the beautiful barn they shared with us.
The barn is beautiful, the location is kinda out of the way. But if you’re not looking to spend a ton of money I wouldn’t recommend. I felt that there was a lot of hidden fees/ extras. I also felt they didn’t treat my wedding like others, they treated us like we were beneath them. My wedding had to be inside due to the weather and the barn roof leaked on guest and on the dance floor. Since ceremony was inside, chairs and tables needed to be moved and they said they would do it and my dad ended up busting his butt to move table and chairs instead of being able to enjoy the wedding. Considering how much money we spent on this venue we were very disappointed in how we were treated and felt that the owner wasn’t willing to help compared to what I’ve seen with other weddings there.
Planning our wedding from across the country was difficult, but one thing I did not have to stress about was the venue and coordination of all the details that come along with it. Angie and Hannah were amazing and easy to work with. They are hand-on and truly care about making sure your big day is exactly how you pictured it. The barn is stunning and the Iowa farm setting is just perfect! I could not have asked for a more perfect day thanks to these ladies.
