The Barn At Shady Lane

The Barn at Shady Lane is literally the perfect venue! We loved having everything inside given our November wedding was a bit rainy. The guests were sent out for a quick flip and then it's reception time. The venue is so gorgeous you could literally have no decoration and it would still be amazing. Linda and the rest of the team truly love weddings and are so flexible and communicative. It's also right down the road from Ross Bridge which was perfect for our room block. We loved getting married here!

We could go on and on about how incredible The Barn at Shady Lane is!! Both their outdoor and indoor ceremony options were built with weddings in mind, and offer a wonderful weather plan for peace of mind. Their new back patio extension was everyone's favorite. Linda and Michael were flexible and patient with us throughout the uncertainties of the COVID season, and were professional to work with. Every detail of their venue was carefully thought out from the bridal loft, to the groom's house, the details of the barn, and on-site parking. We are so thankful that we were able to have TWO wedding days with them. They are beautiful people to work with and truly love what they do!!

Absolutely amazing!! When picking a venue, my husband and I made sure to find a location where we liked both the outside ceremony space, as well as the rain plan. Of course, we never thought we would have to use the rain plan but we made that call the day before our wedding. Everything was moved inside, Linda assured us that the "flip" from ceremony space to reception would be seamless while our guests wait on the covered patio outside, and she couldn't have been more right!!! So many guests came up to us at the reception and said the flip happened within minutes (my husband and I were eating our dinner upstairs during that time). Basically everyone went to the bar on the covered patio (which most guests probably would have done anyway), and by the time everyone had their drinks, they opened the doors and were ready for everyone to come inside again!! Aside from that last minute change, they have been so helpful through this entire process. They have so many great recommendations for vendors, decor, and anything else you can imagine!! I would trust Linda with my life at this point and could not recommend her more. She completely eliminated any bit of stress I had! Thank yall for everything!!!

The Barn at Shady Lane was STUNNING. My husband and I were pretty picky about venue because we wanted a space that was just beautiful on it's own, rustic yet elegant, had an easy smooth transition from ceremony to reception and had the space for us to get ready at the venue. The Barn was ALL of this and more. Our parents and guests said multiple times how amazing the venue was and how crazy quick the flip was. Any time I had questions throughout the process Linda answered quickly and with such thorough information. Not only that, but her and her husband are so welcoming and truly love what they do and it shows because they made us feel so comfortable. Our wedding was exactly what we wanted and more. Beautiful space, beautiful owners and happy us! :)

Oh my gosh. Absolutely WONDERFUL! Linda and Michael helped take our vision for what we had always dreamed our wedding looking like and they just exceeded our expectations! The flip was so fast and everything just looked magnificent! The inside decor of the barn is just beautiful. I had minimal draping and florals and it still looked like a dream! If I had to do it all over again I would pick the Barn at Shady Lane every single time!

Absolutely perfect location! The Barn at Shady Lane exceeded all of our expectations from beginning to end. The owners are extremely nice, easy to work with, and very organized! We could not have asked for better people to work with. It was an absolute pleasure! We had the ceremony outside and the reception inside and both locations were wonderful. The Barn is beautiful inside and out. We loved the location(Bessemer) and with the close proximity to Birmingham it was easy for family that had to fly in. The Renaissance at Ross Bridge is only one mile from The Barn so we were able to put all family and wedding party together, while keeping everyone close to the venue. We can't say enough good things about The Barn at Shady Lane! Thanks again Michael and Linda!!!

My husband and I recently got married at the Barn at Shady Lane and it was absolutely magical! The space itself is absolutely gorgeous. So many of our guests were commenting about the beauty of the venue during and after the wedding. We decided to have an indoor ceremony and reception (Alabama weather, ya never know!) and the Shady Lane Team flipped our space from ceremony to reception-ready in no time at all! There is something to be said for how quickly and how well everything was done, to me it demonstrates a high level of professionalism and knowledge. Also as if all of this wasn't enough to make the venue perfect for us, the owners, Linda and Michael, are absolutely the sweetest people you will ever meet. When we toured they instantly felt like friends and you can tell that they care a great amount about each wedding and making sure it goes off without a hitch. I can't say enough good about this venue. It was so wonderful and we are so thankful we were married here! Thanks so much Linda and Michael!

The Barn at Shady Lane is such an amazing venue! It is absolutely beautiful and the Alders are such sweet people and so wonderful to work with! The land around the barn is perfect for pictures and the inside is gorgeous all on its own. All of our guests raved about the simplicity and beauty of the venue. It was the perfect size to hold all 275 of our guests for our ceremony and then when it was flipped for our reception there was still ample room for everyone with a band and a dance floor. The staff at the barn are so helpful and they helped make our wedding day an absolute dream!! We would recommend this venue time and time again!

The Barn at Shady Lane created the perfect setting for our truly perfect day. I fell in love with The Barn before we ever toured but the minute we went to view the property Kenny and I knew it was THE venue for our wedding. We loved the elegant rustic feel and charm the Barn has to offer. Michael and Linda were so sweet to us during the entire planning process and let us view the property several times (to show to Mothers and Bridal party members when they came in town) and answering every question we had. We sat down with Linda a few weeks before the wedding and set our floorplan for the day and everything was set up perfectly. The Adlers were beyond helpful in making sure the day went over smoothly! Thankfully the weather held up and we were able to use the outdoor space for our ceremony as we planned but I will say that was a big comfort for me when looking at venues knowing how highly people speak of The Flip, I knew if we had to move inside we would be in good hands. Michael & Linda, thank you for everything!

Great venue! Was supposed to be an outside wedding and had to do inside and they were very accommodating and able to flip the barn easily!

The barn was amazing. Linda and her husband were awesome and helped so much! Our wedding day was the best day I could have ever imagined and I wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere but at the barn. The brides loft and the grooms cottage were a huge help to have everyone in one place also! love love love!

The Barn at Shady Lane was the perfect venue! We met with the owners about a month before the wedding to discuss how we wanted the layout for the reception and when I arrived at 8am on my wedding day everything was already set up exactly how we had decided (even when they had a wedding there the night before)! We had an outdoor ceremony and I noticed that before guests starts arriving, they were outside wiping down all of the chairs so that they were clean! They really pay attention to all of the details here! We got compliments all night about how beautiful the venue was! I'm so glad we went with the Barn at Shady Lane!

The Adlers are the absolute best! Even though they're doing weddings all the time, they still make you feel like you're the only bride in the world! Very knowledgeable and full of advice to make your day perfect. Our photos turned out beautifully! Hands down, this is THE place to get married!

We had an indoor ceremony and reception and the room was flipped in about 15 minutes! Couldn't have asked for a better venue!
