The Barn at Smuggler's Notch

We had our wedding at The Barn in October 2022, and there truly aren’t enough words to explain how wonderful of an experience it was. First of all, Chris and I really couldn’t have hand picked a more beautiful location to get married at - we’ve been to a few other Vermont weddings and no view really beats the view like The Barn. Second, the entire team at The Barn including Jenn, Steve and Jamie were nothing but a pleasure to work with. I’ve never met someone who was so responsive via email than Steve - it made planning the wedding much less stressful knowing that he would get back to us ASAP with any questions we had. Jenn really made us feel like she truly cared about our wedding and us having the best day - she’s the most personable person and it felt like I had known her forever. On the day of the actual wedding, Jamie was awesome in making sure everything went as planned and was always there asking us if we needed a drink or anything else. We felt so welcomed by The Barn from the start of our planning TWO years ago! We’re so sad that it’s over, as we truly will miss Jenn and the whole gang, but wouldn’t trade having our wedding at this amazing venue for anything! Thank you all!!❤️

We couldn’t have picked a better venue for our wedding. Not only was the location and facilities perfect, but Jenn and Steve (and all the Barn staff) were truly a pleasure to work with. They were responsive, they anticipated our needs, always available and organized and all their vendor recommendations were great. We recently got married at The Barn at Smuggs and couldn’t recommend it more!! From the moment we met Jenn, we felt confident that our day would go off without a hitch. She was on top of things, flexible, and always willing to offer a solution to anything that comes up. Steve was amazing communicating and answering all of our questions leading up to the wedding. The Barn was absolutely stunning. From the bridal suite, to the views, to the bright barn, everything is well thought out and beautiful. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Barn at Smuggs to anyone who asks!

We can't recommend the Barn at Smugglers Notch enough! Jenn and Steve made planning a wedding there easy and enjoyable! Their vendor recommendations were so helpful - with our florist and DJ knowing exactly how to set up and being old pros at the venue it made it so easy for us. Jenn and Steve were always available throughout the wedding planning process and flexible to everything we asked for before the big day. My husband loves local beers from breweries in Vermont and Steve made sure to have all of his favorite options ready for the day! Our signature cocktails were also a big hit! On the day of the wedding, everything was seamless and smooth. Jenn, Steve and Jamie made sure everything was perfect and we never had to worry about a thing! The space is absolutely stunning and our guests had so many compliments between the wild flowers outside, views of the mountain, outdoor patio area and every part of the beautiful indoor of the barn. If you're looking to get married in Vermont, look no further and take a tour of the Barn! You'll want to book it right on the spot just like we did! You are reading reviews, researching & trying to piece all of the details together for your wedding day in the mountains. We had our wedding at the Barn in September 2021 and booked sight unseen as we live in MA. There is not a single thing you will be disappointed with from the second you sign a contract to the day after your wedding-- so feel free to finish reading the review, but you will not regret choosing to have your wedding here. Jenn and Steve are incredibly organized, respond immediately, are flexible, kind, friendly and make you feel like you are their ONLY bride and groom the entire time you are planning (and oftentimes, you may 1 of 4 couples having a wedding on a given week). I found wedding planning to be especially stressful (financial + amount of work it entails), quickly learned how easy Jenn and Steve make it. While you have to bring in some of your own vendors (flowers, music, chairs, some linens, dessert/cake, photo/video), they provided us a list of AWESOME vendors who have been vetted and already worked with the Barn. All vendors were fabulous (Jess Cronin Cakes, Silver Arrow Band, Todd Stoilov Photo/Video, June Farm (flowers) and Edelweiss). Jenn & Steve have an in house caterer, which helped not have to make that decision. We still have people talking about how exceptional the food at our wedding was. Jenn runs the show day-of and you would think she had been doing this since she was a kid. She is calm, collected and makes sure the day you've planned out goes exactly as you've wished. We lucked out with weather that day. It rained all morning and then the skies opened up for us to have the wedding outside (the barn has an easy option for an indoor ceremony if it does!). The mountains are your back drop and if you are also lucky (like us and a few other couples we've seen married this year) you'll have an epic sunset to cap off the evening. We drove out of Stowe on Sunday night thrilled about EVERY SINGLE THING: FOOD, ceremony, flowers, drinks (do a fun custom drink!), cake, band, tables, decorations (Jenn & her team do this), entire Barn staff & kitchen staff. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Jenn and Steve. We wish we could do it all over again!

Jenn and Steve were amazing throughout the whole process of planning our wedding. Jenn has an eye for design and is the perfect coordinator for your day. She helped so much with placing decor and creating a fun lounge area with a couch and rugs we brought. They both made sure we had everything we needed and wanted throughout the evening, and especially made sure we ate the delicious food from Lost Nation Catering. Jenn made sure everyone knew where to be and when, and when we lined up for the processional she handled telling everyone when to start walking in coordination with the dj and officiant. It could not have gone any better! On top of Jenn and Steve being amazing, the venue speaks for itself, it’s absolutely beautiful. If you’re looking for picturesque Mountain View’s, a beautiful barn, and great people to work with- you’ve found it!

The most PERFECT wedding venue EVER. I cannot even begin to explain how amazing our experience was working with Jenn & Steve. From the very first phone call up until the big day- both Jenn & Steve worked along side us beautifully. They were the most responsive (literally would email us back within minutes of contacting them) vendor we worked with throughout the wedding planning process which was VERY helpful. We planned the entire wedding from Denver, CO. But it was like we were planning it from Vermont because of how easy Jenn & Steve are to work with. The barn, the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Spotless, open, bright, gorgeous farm tables with stunning wooden chairs, the most amazing bridal suit to get ready in ( we had myself, 9 bridesmaids, 2 mothers plus 5 makeup/hair vendors and we all fit completely comfortable), 5 bathroom stalls, large dance floor...I could go on & on. As for the outside, we were fortunate enough to have our ceremony outside. Magical. It was the most beautiful backdrop overlooking the green mountains. They have a large patio with comfortable furniture, a tent, outside bar, lawn games and even a giant wooden "LOVE" sign that was a hit for our guests photos! I truly cannot thank Steve & Jenn enough for being the most amazing owners of the barn. They answered every single question I had, were honest & transparent with us, let us visit when we wanted to finally see the barn after booking it. The rehearsal took place at the barn, they had the bar open for us which made it very fun and relaxing. Jenn is a FLAWLESS day of coordinator. Literally EVERYTHING was on time..I mean EVERYTHING & we even had to adjust our photo time because of a rain storm & it still all worked out perfectly. The day after the wedding- my family & I arrived around 11 am to gather our leftover belongings, gifts etc. They had packed up all 60+ of our vases, all my photos, florals..everything. It was so helpful. I can't thank them enough for making the biggest part of the wedding process (finding the perfect venue) a piece of cake. They go above and beyond for their couples and I would choose this venue over & over again. We love you Jenn & Steve!

The Barn at Smuggler's Notch is such a stunning venue and so well-thought out. A modern canvas that lends itself well to any color scheme and any wedding theme. Sweeping mountain views. Stunning bridal suite. Plenty of space. That is why we originally selected it as our wedding venue. What we didn't know at the time is that we were hiring some of the best wedding professionals in the business - the dynamic duo of Steve & Jenn. I am not exaggerating when I say I'd get married pretty much anywhere as long as they were running the show. Let me start with how incredibly responsive they were. As a wedding vendor also, this is something I greatly appreciate. I would ask a question and get a response usually within 10 minutes. Jenn & Steve made everything pretty effortless for us. Steve helped us with bar selections, table lay out and set up specialty cocktails. Jenn coordinated with all of our vendors for arrival times, set up and take down. We were able to drop off all of our decor on a Wednesday and Jenn had it all set up when we came Friday for our rehearsal. What a special treat for our bridal party and close family to be able to preview the venue with the majority of the decor set up. A review of our wedding day: we had downpours in the morning and in to the afternoon. The team at the Barn set up for an indoor ceremony just in case. Our ceremony was at 4:30pm and downpours came again at 4:15. As I (the bride) was coming down the stairs the clouds parted and I gave the nod to have the ceremony outside - probably right at 4:30pm. Jenn had the team dry off chairs outside not once, but twice after 4pm and we were able to have our ceremony outside, just as we had envisioned. I doubt you will find this level of flexibility anywhere else where you can literally make the call at the very last minute - it meant everything to us to be able to get married with the mountains in the background. The rest of the night was absolutely flawless. Steve made sure to bring us cocktails during dinner, Jenn brought us an array of apps so we could enjoy our cocktail hour while photos were being taken. I had no idea what time it was all throughout the night, but Jenn made sure things were executed on time. She clearly is a professional and seems so chill but is also so organized and direct when she needs to be. The Barn is no doubt the best place to get married in Vermont. I wish I could do it all over again - every moment was absolutely magical. Jennifer and Steve are terrific. We had the most perfect wedding day, and can't imagine how we would have done it without them. Jennifer is an absolute boss and makes sure your day is everything you ever wished it would be and more. Both of them were so so helpful, respectful, organized and timely with all of my wedding planning questions and needs. OH, and the venue is just breathtaking. The barn is beautiful, from the bridal suite, to the tables and chandeliers, the bar and the bathrooms, literally everything is amazing, and that's not even the best part, the backdrop to the outdoor ceremony is jaw dropping. You get the most beautiful mountains in the background and a field of wildflowers, like what more could you ask for? If you're trying to find a wedding venue honestly look no further. We had the best time and wish we could go back to the barn every weekend and do it again. <3 <3

Everything I could have asked for and more! This chic, stunning barn provides a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Steve and Jenn are the best kind of people - helpful in every way and genuinely interested in making your day perfect. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to their coordination, and all the guests gushed over the setting. Would do it again if I could! Xx

There are not enough good things to say about the Barn and its staff. Steve and Jennifer were a joy to work with from day 1 - and we booked the day we toured the venue! The space itself is immaculate and so beautiful - it’s warm and welcoming, understated yet beyond elegant. The location itself is simply breathtaking (and we’re Vermonters!). Kristin, the catering manager, is so wonderful to work with and helps with every little detail. She greets you with a smile every time you meet, and is genuinely excited for every couple she works with. Not to mention the food, which was outstanding - guests continue to give our end of summer BBQ theme rave reviews! The combination of these wonderful people and this space is well worth every penny!
