The Barn

When we first pulled into the parking lot, I was wondering if I had the wrong address, since we were not in a commercial part of town. I am SO HAPPY we ventured inside. It is like Mary Poppins purse - somehow the inside is 10 times bigger than the outside looks! Everyone we talked to was friendly and helpful. I have to give a shoutout to Allison who was absolutely amazing at picking out dresses and understanding what I wanted. It was the best dress-shopping experience possible. If you don't want the ridiculous prices and stressful experience of shopping in DC - this gem is absolutely worth the drive!

I had been searching for weeks for the perfect dress that made me comfortable and feel like myself when we went to the barn. I had gotten a prom dress there previously and was thrilled when I found the perfect classic and simple wedding dress for me. The staff was super helpful and warm and I could not have been more happy. We even went back with my bridesmaids and found their dresses there as well!

Ok selection but not impressed with the service. Didn't expect them to be so judgmental.

I LOVE THE BARN! I grew up in Shepherdstown wv and have worked with the barn several years ago to purchase prom dresses with great success, so I figured it was a good starting point. I did not expect to purchase a dress here as my budget for a dress was 500, I figured I would have to take my chances on the internet because no bridal salon would sell dresses that low. i was so wrong!! The barn took my budget seriously and had me try on about 20 dresses and I found SEVERAL that I loved within my budget. The second I put on MY dress I could not stop smiling. Ms. Diane picked it out and asked me to try even though on the hanger it just okay. I was even under budget! The next day I tried on some more dresses at another botique but they kept pushing my budget higher and higher and pushed me toward styles I didnt like because they were more suitable for my body type, and their selection was limited. The barn was fun and very welcoming toward my family and got to know them and took their opinions while encouraging me to do what I wanted. I cant wait to go back and try on my dress when it arrives!

This is the perfect stop for wedding dress needs!! Miss Arlene and Miss Nikki work so hard to ensure that each client receives the warmest care and leaves confident in their dress choice!! Their experience at matching the woman and the dress are par none! I honestly can't say enough good about this stellar business!

I went in with the vision of what I wanted. I wanted ruffles! I'm a very short girl (4'11) so it was hard to find the right size ruffles to fit my frame. But they took their time with me & found the perfect dress. I felt beautiful! And they added snap on straps for me for extra coverage. They was nice & affordable!! Loved it!

The Barn, a small and renovated barn turned into dress shop, has the best dresses & service around. I could not have asked for more enthusiastic women to work with in picking my dress. They made my whole dress buying experience perfect! We ended up getting all wedding attire (including parents) at The Barn! Love them!

At first glance, I thought oh no, a shack. The curb appeal does not do it justice. Inside they have a fair amount of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, prom dresses and mother of the bride dress. I found my wedding dress there no problem, and my bridesmaid dresses. The staff was lovely and Arlene, the owner was so friendly and helpful!

My fist appointment was great - found my dress. I ordered my dress 4 months prior to my wedding and it came in the week before, through no fault of the shop. My only complaints were that the attention I received being a nervous and anxious bride about time frames, was less than desirable. The dress was too small and I was told maybe I had "grown". I was offended by that comment, not to mention that I was already stressed. They re-measured me and my measurements were the same. In the end, my dress was alerted and fit like a glove - however, that first meeting I left feeling like my wedding was going to be ruined as my dress was a disaster, and had been personally offended by the comments from staff. The price for alterations was reasonable, however, I feel I was over charged for steaming of my dress. I spent a good amount on the actual dress, I felt that the steaming should have been included. However, on my wedding day, my dress was perfect.

I did not purchase my gown here only because I found this place after I already had a gown. The wedding party purchased their dresses and rented tuxes from here though. We picked out dresses in June however not all my girls were able to be measured at that time. They told us then that dresses would be ordered all at that same time so they would be from the same lot. They wouldn't be in until September. So when one of my girls didn't call until the end of July with her measurements she was told dresses wouldn't be in until the middle of October for my November 3 wedding! I was furious with her. However, Sue at the The Barn was able to call and have a rush put on them at no charge. In addition, because we ordered 6 weeks later my flower girl dress was discontinued. Sue called and requested the dressmaker please make my dress. Her persuasion skills worked and we got beautiful dresses. One dress didn't fit due to weight gain and we needed more material. She ordered it and had it overnighted to my out of state bridesmaid. We also rented tuxedos from the shop. Due to weather the tuxes weren't shipped until 4 days before the wedding. My groom picked them up two days before the wedding and his tux didn't fit correctly. She worked overnight to fix it for us. Sue gets 100 stars for being so accommodating.This is a small town shop with great prices and service. They do alterations and have jewelry, veils, headpieces, and shoes as well.

My bridal party and I spent several hours at a more advertised, cheaper bridal store prior to heading to The Barn. I am SO glad we tried The Barn before making a final decision. We received personal and helpful service and were able to find THE dress. A few weeks before the wedding, I returned for it to be cleaned/pressed and let them know that I needed a string from the beading to be pulled back through the front of my dress. Not only did they do that, they completely replaced the missing beads that had led to that annoying little string. I was so grateful!! (I bought my dress off the rack, so that is why it had the little pull, but I was so excited to receive such a large percentage off my dress by doing so, that the little pull wasn't going to bother me). I'd recommend The Barn to any one looking for an elegant, well made dress!

I had a wonderful experience buying my wedding gown, bridesmaid gowns and flower girl dress here. They worked with my through the whole process and were very helpful.

I met with Arlene for my first trip out shopping for dresses. She was awesome, we went on a weekday morning so it wasnt crowded and she spent hours with us trying on dresses. There was no pressure it was just a great experience. They are a bit far out but worth the drive.

When I was searching for my wedding dress I only looked at two shops, one that I won't mention because the staff was a bit rude BUT the barn was the second shop and I found my perfect wedding dress after only trying on less than 6 dresses. That's amazing considering how indecisive I am. My dress was altered perfectly and got great reviews from my guests. Not to mention the pictures look FANTASTIC! My bridesmaids also purchased heir dresses here and they looked fabulous as well! I was one happy bride:)

I bought my wedding dress at The Barn. The owner was so nice and was there every step of the way. Was very patient with me and all my questions! I recommend The Barn time and time again!
