Sitting high above the Pemigewasset River, The Barn on the Pemi is a wedding venue located in Plymouth, NH. The building dates back to 1855 and was originally located in Canterbury, New Hampshire before it was relocated by The Common Man Family. Fully restored and renovated, the barn is designed to reflect its storied past while featuring modern and luxurious amenities. At over 11,000 square feet of event space, this venue is a rustic and expansive location in which to host small receptions or grand affairs.
Surrounded by a secluded pastoral landscape, The Barn on the Pemi exudes a classic rural New England charm. The climate-controlled facility can accommodate up to 300 guests and features a tasteful and simple interior that you can customize with your own décor. The two-story building boasts high ceilings, exposed beams, an impressive stone fireplace, and unique and elaborate chandeliers. You are welcome to hold your ceremony in the barn or out on the patio, where the stunning mountains paint a beautiful backdrop. A seasonal greenhouse is also available for your ceremony. Head back inside for your reception dinner, where the on-site catering chefs will serve locally-sourced farm-to-table dishes that highlight the best of New England’s farms. You can also enjoy craft cocktails, local beer, and vintage wines from the two full-service bars that the venue includes.
The Barn on the Pemi provides an event specialist who will work with you every step of the way to ensure your event goes seamlessly. This coordinator will recommend preferred vendors for all your entertainment, décor, and floral needs, and will help tailor your day to your preferences. Five tiny cabins are on-site and can be reserved for wedding parties. These are equipped with quaint open-frame queen beds, Adirondack-style furniture, front porches, and gas fireplaces. You can also stay in the Cabin in the Woods, which features a full kitchen, living area, dining room, and two bedrooms. The Common Man Inn & Spa, located four miles down the road, can also house you and your guests. This hotel has 38 rooms furnished with hand-crafted birch and cedar accents and a heated indoor pool and rock waterfall hot tub. Warm and relaxing, these accommodations provide a cozy and comfortable retreat for you and your loved ones as you celebrate your special day. We recently renovated another Hotel right next door with 37 more rustic rooms.

Her and her team didn’t miss a single detail in the setup and when I walked in it was truly a dream. People are continuously raving about the food and how intimate this venue was. They offer a complimentary trolley service to and from the venue which was a huge plus so that no one had to worry about driving. If people did drive themselves there was plenty of free parking. Another thing that I found so hard was finding a venue that was transparent in their pricing. Not the Barn on the Pemi! They have a whole catalog on their website with multiple food and beverage package options and are willing to work with you to customize them for your perfect day. We even used some of their preferred vendors and Wow! Their recommendations were spot on. I can’t say enough good things about this venue and my husband and I keep joking that our friends need to get married here next so we can keep going back. You will not be disappointed!!

We always felt we were in very good hands, and everything went so smoothly the day of, our worries were kept to a minimum. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and we received so many positive compliments from guests. The barn hosts a fabulous rustic flair, perfectly adaptable to weddings for any season of your choice! And the accessibility was extremely helpful for our guests with mobility aids. The food was very good, and the staff easily adapted to all our guests with dietary restrictions or additional needs. If you are considering having kids join your wedding, they will love the layout of the barn, as there are lots of places to explore and have fun running around. The greenhouse ceremony was beautiful and the coordinators were perfectly prepared to make it run as smoothly as possible. They even recommended providing warm apple cider for our guests while they waited for our big arrival, which was a big hit! And of course, the trolly transportation is absolutely worth getting for your guests. The gentleman driving the trolly was extremely kind and caring towards our guests. Overall, our wedding day couldn’t have been more perfect, and we can’t thank Kendra and Sheila and all the staff enough for all the hard work they put into our special day. We’re so glad we chose to host our wedding at the Barn on the Pemi and cannot recommend it enough!

the natural beauty it offers. From the moment we toured, we knew this was where we wanted to get married. Not only did it offer everything we wanted and more, it seemed to us that the staff felt just as excited as we were to begin this process. We decided to do a 2 year engagement which meant a lot of communication between me and the venue. Kendra was always there to answer any questions, big or small, I had. She is a wealth of knowledge and helped guide our decisions that worked best for us. Her attention to detail truly helped my 'type A' personality feel as though I didn't have to worry about anything, she had it covered.
When it came to the big day, Alexis was assigned as our day of coordinator and I don't know what I would've done without her. She was always 10 steps ahead, attentive, caring, and efficient. I felt so calm that day because I knew she was going to take care of us and she did so much more than I could've dreamed of. Alexis and all of the staff at the Barn are exceptional, caring, and hardworking. If I could give 10 stars I would. If you're deciding between venues this one is truly one of a kind and I cannot recommend it enough.

We were so blessed to have Sheila as our day-of coordinator. She was incredibly helpful during the rehearsal and set-up, and was amazing with her communication and time management to ensure our wedding flowed perfectly. She even sprang into action to repair the groom’s suit jacket button when it popped off during photos, and overall helped calm our nerves with her trusting presence. The food was phenomenal, especially the mac and cheese, which our guests are still talking about! The Barn was able to accommodate a number of different dietary restrictions, even in family style serving, and every guest was able to enjoy different food options. With the views, the charm, and the staff’s service and execution, you cannot choose a better venue for your wedding in New Hampshire!

It happened to be down pouring when I went for our first look and Sheila made it feel like a bright and sunny day. She trudged through the down pouring rain to make sure I had an umbrella.
Beyond the personal touches of support from the coordinators (do not hire a coordinator in addition to them - they’re better than any one), the food was over the top. Wedding food is either talked about because it’s not good or not talked about at all. This wedding food went above and beyond - from the passed apps to the late night snacks and everything in between. Could not recommend this venue any more!!!

The food was incredible — endless options that were both fun and delicious. The chips and dips at cocktail hour were a huge hit, and the late-night noodle bar was the perfect touch. They even set aside a full platter of appetizers and drinks for our wedding party immediately after the ceremony, which was such a thoughtful detail. Dinner was served quickly and tasted amazing (the steak tips especially!).
We had our ceremony in the greenhouse, cocktail hour on the patio, and the reception inside — the flow of the entire day was seamless. Krysta, our day-of coordinator, was absolutely fantastic and made everything run smoothly. I never felt stressed and was able to truly enjoy every moment.
It was everything I hoped for and more, and we’re so grateful for the care and attention we received. I would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful summer wedding with incredible service and food.

They work together like a well oiled machine to ensure the day is stress free for the Bride and Groom, as well as runs smoothly. The staff accommodated our every need and were able to make incredible suggestions when we were faced with aspects of wedding planning we just weren't sure about, or didn't understand. Planning a wedding is so hard because it's something you've never done before and never will do again. But the staff at the Barn on the Pemi do this all the time and were able to provide the answers and direction we needed. They thought of everything we didn't. From making sure the bride and groom had access to the cocktail hour foods, to ensuring drinks were waiting for the entire wedding party and our family at the conclusion of the ceremony. We highly recommend choosing the Barn for your special day, you will not regret it. It was such an incredible experience and we are again so thankful the Barn and their staff! there. We wanted a place that could hold 200 - 300 people that was well-heated, naturally beautiful, and that would work with us on different options for food and staff that would help us coordinate our hybrid ceremony and reception.
They delivered on all fronts!
We had two different menus of South Indian and American/mixed cuisine, cooked by the amazing chef Darren who was a joy to work with.
The venue had back-to-back weddings the weekend we got married but it was spotless, gorgeous, and lent itself to Indian and western decorations.
And finally, the staff's coordination with all our vendors helped us seamlessly move from one part of the ceremony to another, making sure all our guests, and we as a couple, were well-fed and entertained throughout.
The staff are exceptionally kind, organized, and punctual.
Kendra was one of our primary points of contact. She and her team took the time to understand all our needs and executed everything flawlessly the day of. My husband and our loved ones will never forget how wonderful this day was thanks to the team at the Barn on the Pemi!

From the initial tour, through booking, tasting, and the actual wedding weekend, The Barn was organized, friendly, and easy to work with. We've had several guests tell us our wedding was the best they've ever been to, and so much of that can be attributed to The Barn. The grounds and barn itself are absolutely stunning - Our photos are incredible. The location is easy to get to and convenient. Bars on both level, plenty of bathrooms, and elevator for accessibility, and so much more, this venue really does check all the boxes. The food is also absolutely phenomenal!! All of our guests have told us how fantastic the food was, from apps to dessert. Everyone at The Barn was an absolute pleasure to work with, but our coordinator, Grace, deserves a special shoutout for how fantastic she is at her job and simply how wonderful of a human she is. We feel so lucky to have celebrated our most special day at The Barn and we can't recommend this venue enough!

Their connection with the common man inn was great in setting up a room block for us and our guests, as well as transportation to and from the inn for our guests. We had issues getting a room block with another surrounding hotel so it was reassuring knowing we had the common man inn as a secured block.
Grace was our day of coordinator and she was nothing but amazing! She was accommodating, very communicative from the moment we met up until wedding day, and the delivery of sangria to the girls cabin while getting ready was a very nice touch! She made our wedding day run so smooth!
And lastly, the food, all of our guests cannot stop talking about how beautiful the venue was and how GREAT the food was! We remember leaving our menu tasting feeling so full because everything tasted so delicious and we could not say no to anything. The filet was fantastic and we are still dreaming of the cupcakes and whoopie pies!
If we were to go back in time and look at venues for our wedding day, we would pick The Barn on the Pemi over and over again! You will be so happy you did!

The entire wedding ran so smoothly and all of our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was and no one left hungry! The venue itself is so beautiful and is a dream. If you are looking for a barn setting this tops all others. And the ceremony in the greenhouse has been the most unique and talked about ceremony out of all the wedding we have been to. They had more than enough staff to accommodate our 110 guests and there were no bar lines. Our dream day could not have been possible without this venue and having a coordinator is such a plus to help with all of the details!

We got married late August in the greenhouse and it was gorgeous. The natural flowers and birch archway were beautiful and made for what I know are incredible photos. Cocktail hour was on the terrace and then headed to dinner in the Barn. Loved the sweetheart table and the set up of everyone upstairs and then headed down for dancing. We got so many compliments on the food! This day was as magical and unforgettable due to the all the Barn staff and beauty of this venue. Would recommend over and over to anyone!

On the day of, the venue made for the most beautiful backdrop to our special day; our guests got to go on a journey through the stunning grounds as they transitioned from our greenhouse ceremony, to cocktail hour on the terrace overlooking the mountains and lastly dinner and a night of dancing in the barn.
Krysta and her day-of coordination team were absolute stars, and they made us feel like family throughout our entire wedding experience. They set up all of our decor and personalized touches, as well as worked with our outside vendors to help them prepare for the day. Her and her team truly brought our vision to life, down to the smallest details like the blue goblets and rust-colored napkins. The food and drinks were delicious, and the staff were so kind and attentive to us and our guests. We could not recommend The Barn on the Pemi enough!

the road to an absolutely perfect day for my daughter. There isn’t enough thanks in the world to express my gratitude to her. Everyone there was very professional and very eager to assist anyone if needed. The food was amazing, the sundae bar delicious, and the tie the knot wall just ended the night perfectly. All of our guests had nothing but amazing things to say the wedding!! Michael Cirelli Photography and Lotus Floral Designs were icing on the cake!! So professional and courteous, I can’t thank them enough! Last but definitely not least, The Silver Arrow Band. Hands down, the best band I have ever heard. The horn section was incredible! A five star plus experience that we will never forget! Much thanks to everyone that pulled this day together!!

and incredibly attentive to all details. The Barn itself is absolutely gorgeous. We had our ceremony outside on the patio overlooking the mountains and were lucky enough to have the most beautiful day that allowed us to use the grounds, greenhouse, and the firepit. The Barn is two floors, which also allows people to watch the dance floor from above which makes for some amazing pictures! The sprawling amount of space that the venue provided allowed everyone to have a spot to relax and enjoy the night! The Barn does an amazing job with their grounds - the flowers were gorgeous and the venue is meticulously maintained. The food was delicious (we did a sushi martini bar, passed apps, and steak/haddock for dinner). We had several guests say that it was the best wedding food they had ever eaten - and I would agree! The staff at The Barn on the Pemi were absolutely amazing! We were being asked if there was anything that we needed and drinks were being refilled constantly. The staff at The Barn was so helpful in finding batteries for our guest book camera when it died and were just the friendliest people ever! We had the absolute best time at our wedding, thank you to the Barn on the Pemi for making it such a memorable night!

d florals at the Barn were gorgeous), but with the comfort of having the indoor, temp-controlled Barn. And the Barn is SPECTACULAR- we’ve been to so many wedding venues, and the Barn truly has a “wow” factor while still feeling so homey and fun. Multiple people told us it was one of the best venues they’ve seen. We had our ceremony on the terrace, and the backdrop is truly spectacular. The greenhouse is such a great ceremony option as well, and we got some amazing golden hour photos in the greenhouse.
Next, the people at The Barn truly made the entire process and the day of so seamless and special. We could tell that everyone who works there takes such pride in their work and loves what they do. The coordinator at the Barn, Carole, helped us through every step of the planning process with multiple phone calls, and was always so helpful and responsive to every email. And on the weekend of, Kendra and Jen were such joys to work with- I knew I was in the best hands, and they were so helpful and kind. I barely had any bride nerves because they were so wonderful. They truly thought through everything and wanted to make sure every detail, no matter how small, was perfect for us. And throughout the night and even the next day, the entire Pemi staff was attentive, skilled, professional, and kind! They helped everything go so smoothly.
Lastly, I’ll say the food was SPECTACULAR, and multiple guests told us so!
I recommend the Barn on the Pemi so highly- I feel truly grateful and honestly can’t imagine us having had our wedding anywhere else.

The bartenders and waitstaff were very attentive and exceptionally pleasant. Our guests raved about the service and the food, especially the pesto pasta wheel and the short ribs. - we got endless compliments dinner and desert. The rustic looks of The Barn are breath takingly gorgeous. The mountain view that The Barn has is something you’d see from a magazine. And the green house looks like something from a fairy tail.
The staff was also so FRIENDLY and hard working. We stayed at The Cabin in the Woods onsite and had friends at both the mini cabins and the Common Man Inn and Lodge which worked out perfectly for us. With that said, have your wedding at The Barn on the Pemi. You will not regret it!!! I cannot say enough good things :)

We got married on a rainy day and Carole made sure to have a thorough rain plan for us. We used the big cabin in the woods for the girls to get ready, making it very easy for pictures before the ceremony. The barn comes with a day-of coordinator to keep everything on track (we had Carole) which is a huge bonus. They were also very accommodating to our dog, Nacho!
The groomsmen party stayed at the Squam Suite at the Inn and took the trolley over. The trolley system was also very easy to use for guests.We did our rehearsal dinner and welcome party, as well as our after party, at the Inn too. We loved how close and convenient everything was!
There were only two small downfalls of the day. First, the bartenders were pretty unfriendly and rude - many guests commented on this! They also did not allow people to get more than one drink at a time as the night went on, making it very inconvenient for people to grab a drink for a friend. Even as the bride, they would have to come hand deliver me my drink when I asked someone to get me one. We paid for the top tier open bar package, so the lack of flexibility around drinks was disappointing.
Secondly, the clean up staff at the end of the night took my bridal bouquet off the sweetheart table and brought it down with the other centerpieces, which we were giving away to guests as they left. A cousin then took it by mistake, not knowing it was mine, since it was mixed in with all of the others (not her fault at all!) Fortunately, we were able to track it down the next day so I could have it preserved, but it caused some unnecessary stress. Hopefully the staff will learn to take better care of the bride’s bouquet in the future, since so many people like to save them nowadays.
We still rate the barn 5 stars because even with these small blips, the day was overall amazing and magical. I cannot say enough good things about Carole! She is a sweetheart and very very knowledgeable about the wedding industry. I would highly recommend the Barn on the Pemi!

We had toured the venue the spring prior- and fell in love with the greenhouse with its blooming flowers for the ceremony, as well as the charm of the mountains in the background of the rustic barn. After we booked, we fell in love with the staff as well, and realized we could not have made a better decision.
Carole answered every question that came her way with professionalism and punctuality. She was very flexible to work with- and outlined an amazing “run of show” after our final detail meeting- which made me feel like I had one less job to do leading up to the wedding. Carole was so calming the day of, and was so patient despite any hiccups that arose (on my end of course, Carole and her team operated like a well-oiled machine!). The bar and wait staff could not have been more kind and attentive- and I cannot say enough about the food. Our guests were absolutely raving about our cocktail hour hors d’oeuvre’s and the pretzel wall. I wish I could have our wedding meal every day. Between the amazing staff, and stunning venue- my husband and I could not be happier with our decision to book our wedding at the barn. If I was to rewind the clock by a year, I would book my wedding there again in a heartbeat!

was professional but personable all at the same time. The venue was stunning. I only used a limited number of florals and decor because the venue didn't need much to dress it up at all. The food was delicious. We ordered the bourbon steak tips and roasted chicken for the entrees! The complimentary tiny cabin was quaint and adorable too, it was a perfect way to relax after the busy night. I couldn't recommend this venue enough!

right away. The barn and the American flag took our breath away and the location could not be better. From day one touring the venue, to the morning after the wedding, we were blown away by the attention to detail and the amazing service. I constantly felt out of my depths with planning, but each time I spoke with Carole throughout the process, I felt reassured that they had everything under control. Getting ready in the cabin could not have been a better experience - the greenhouse, the barn, the tiny cabins, the view, the team, the food - literally everything was amazing. All night, the Barn team was one step ahead of us and we didn't have to worry about a single thing. It truly felt like they were an extension of our family and we couldn't be more grateful.

She covered every little detail from the smallest things that I would have never thought of to the big/ major events through out the day. Carole was there early in the morning to set everything up perfectly and stayed all day to make sure the event ran just as planned. She is super responsive throughout the whole planning process. Our day went flawlessly. There is not a single thing I would change from our wedding weekend. Everything ran super smooth and it was stress free thanks to the amazing barn staff and my incredible vendors. Let me add the the food was so good!! I wish I could have meals like that all the time. If you are considering this venue do yourself the favor and book it ASAP!! You won’t regret it! There honestly is not enough good things I could say about this venue!
