The Barn on the Pemi

From the very first time we stepped foot into The Barn on the Pemi, we knew we wanted to have our wedding there. There was just something about the venue that immediately felt like us, and looking back, choosing The Barn was one of the best decisions we made. One of the other major reasons we chose The Barn was the FOOD! We are definitely a foodie couple, and there is nothing worse than going to a wedding and being disappointed by the food. The Barn was the complete opposite. Our guests are still talking about how incredible the food was! From the beginning of the planning process all the way through our wedding day, the entire team was incredible. Krysta, our coordinator, was absolutely amazing. We met her on our very first tour, and she was there for us throughout the entire planning process. She was patient, attentive, and always willing to answer our questions. As a bride who occasionally had a tendency to spiral over little details, Krysta was also incredibly good at talking me through things and helping me feel reassured and confident. She truly cared about making our day everything we hoped it would be. On the wedding day itself when my veil fell out of my hair right as I was about to walk down the aisle, Krysta immediately noticed. She came around and put it back in my hair so I could have my veil for the ceremony. Those little moments are something you don’t forget! Of course, not everything can go perfectly on a wedding day. The fire alarm went off during cocktail hour. The team handled everything so quickly and flawlessly. They made sure our guests were taken care of and even brought food outside while everything was being sorted out. Thankfully, it was a beautiful day, so our guests were able to enjoy being outside. What could have been a stressful situation has now become one of those funny and unforgettable memories we will cherish forever. We even got a picture with the fire truck! Honestly, that’s one of the biggest things we would tell any couple considering The Barn: things are going to happen on a wedding day. No wedding is going to go 100% perfectly. What matters is having a team behind you who can think on their feet, handle problems quickly and effectively, and keep you from having to worry about them. That is exactly what the Barn’s team does. We cannot say enough about how incredible they were! Kendra also deserves a huge shoutout! She handled our room blocks and was wonderful about coordinating everything for us, our family, and our friends. Steve, our designated waiter on wedding day was amazing. He made sure my Husband and I were fed throughout the entire evening. Before our wedding, so many couples told us, “You’re never going to get to eat!” We had the complete opposite experience. We were fed, taken care of, and able to actually enjoy our food and our evening. Steve went above and beyond! Even our 4 year old chocolate lab, Waylon was able to be included in our wedding day! We’ve had so many people tell us that our wedding was the BEST they’ve ever been to. Honestly, we couldn’t agree more! If you’re considering The Barn on the Pemi for your wedding, DO IT! The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, the food is incredible, but what truly sets The Barn apart is the staff. They work incredibly hard behind the scenes so that you can relax, enjoy your day, and actually be present for all of the moments you’ve spent so long planning. 10/10 would choose The Barn all over again!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at the Barn on the Pemi! This venue holds a special place in our hearts because we went to the off-season square dances there while dating and even took our first selfie on the dancefloor that (little did we know) would be where we celebrated our wedding! We had high hopes for using this venue and our expectations were exceeded! Our wedding coordinator Krista supported us throughout the whole process from the initial tour to the end of the wedding. She was very helpful and communicative with emails and phone calls during the planning process. On the rehearsal and wedding day, her knowledge and calm presence made us feel confident that everything was running smoothly so we could focus on enjoying our big day.  We stayed at the common man hotels nearby and loved our experience there. It was convenient to stay so close to the venue the nights before and after and allowed us to make our wedding a whole weekend event. We had our bachelor and bachelorette parties the night before, and the suites at The Ranch were a perfect place for these. The bridal party got ready in the suite at The Ranch while the groom and groomsmen got ready at The Lodge, and both were spacious and comfortable places for us to get ready with our wedding party.  The venue was stunning! The beautiful grounds and the mountain view from the terrace made for wonderful pictures. We had our ceremony in the greenhouse and reception in the barn. We loved that we got to experience the variety of both spaces with the convenience of keeping everything at the same location. Both places are beautiful and speak for themselves so much that we kept our decorations to a minimum. We loved having the dancefloor on the mail level of the barn and eating dinner on the upper level - this provided even more variety and differentiated between different parts of the night.  The food was delicious! From the appetizers and main course all the way to the desserts and late night snacks, the food was both fun and high-quality. A couple of highlights were the ice cream sundae bar and doughnut cart for dessert. We had a fall wedding and neither of us love cake, so we used an apple cider doughnut for our cake cutting!  We LOVED having our wedding at the barn and would recommend this venue to anyone!
