The Beach Club

We got married in the spring of 2019 at CBC, and it was a beautiful space for both a ceremony and a reception. The ceremony space features a gorgeous spiral staircase for the bride to walk down and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. The reception space overlooks Lake Calhoun and is equally airy, open, and beautiful. The weather didn't permit us to be on the patio, but there's also a large terrace overlooking the lake that would be perfect for summer months. It's classy, elegant, and modern without being stuffy. Would definitely recommend!

We got married in September at the CBC, and it was amazing. The staff was great, the food was wonderful, and the space is so beautiful and historic. Would not have changed anything! Bethany was really sweet to work with for planning, and the individual on point for running the wedding the day of was superb too! A great experience here- my wedding day was so special, and the Calhoun Beach Club did not disappoint!

We used the entire venue for all of our wedding events - ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. D'Amico, the managing catering company, was INCREDIBLY flexible! Every question we asked, their answer seemed to be "Yes! whatever you'd like!" The event spaces were perfect; clean, bright, simple, and most of all elegant! We wanted a simple and classy, timeless wedding and that is exactly what we got with Calhoun Beach Club. We were able to bring games in for our guests to play both in the reception space and on the beautiful patio overlooking the lake, and even make special requests for food and drink. The staff was absolutely amazing and Amy McMonigal was a godsend. She never once failed to respond to any of my (seemingly endless) emails to her, and scheduled tastings and many in-person discussions about our event. She genuinely seemed to care about the event as much as I, the bride, did! She also worked seamlessly with our vendors and our day-of event planner. I really can't imagine a more smoothly-flowing day, which meant so much to me as a relatively frazzled bride leading up to the big day. We cannot thank Amy and the rest of the staff at CBC/D'Amico enough!

Fabulous!! We had our wedding here in June of 2016. The staff, was professional and service was seamless in the planning leading up to the event as well as day of . The food, including the cake, was excellent. I had many guests tell me it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The venue has the perfect amount of character and detail is neutral enough that it serves as a great clean slate for your wedding vision. A previous reviewer is correct that the linens they provide are 'barebones' but it is definitely worth noting they've updated the chairs since that review was written. Out with the shabby white leather, in with the new white chiavari chairs that are versatile and look stunning with the white woodwork in venue. My wedding planner and I were working to cut expenses (were going to rent $2k worth of chairs) when we got the news CBC was getting new chairs! It was a wedding budget miracle!! Lastly the location is perfection for a MPLS wedding and provides a great elegant setting if a country club is not your thing. My now-husband and I wanted a formal feel without the stuffiness of many country clubs that didn't feel authentic to us. If that's you, this is your spot!

My husband and I got married at Calhoun here in April and Jessica and Molly and their entire team went above and beyond from first meeting them and getting a tour of the venue to our wedding day! They worked with us to plan the perfect ceremony and menu for our guest! Day of they went above and beyond for us! There are not enough thanks' to go around for everyone who helped with our wedding!

We had our wedding reception at the Calhoun Beach Club and it was absolutely wonderful! Jessica was amazing, from every step of the planning process to ensuring the event was executed perfectly. She provided great recommendations for vendors and was so incredibly flexible with any and all of our ideas. The food was amazing and the venue was gorgeous, our guests are still telling us what a great time they had!

we had our wedding this august at the Calhoun Beach Club in minneapolis. we worked with Jessica + Molly for all of our planning and those two girls were not only incredible at what they do, but also the nicest + most sweet girls to work with. they were insanely helpful with planning and thought of absolutely everything. including a ton of things I hadn't. I could not have pulled off such a gorgeous wedding without the two of them! second- our food from d'amico was absolutely out of this world. SO GOOD. we did a buffet and had reservations about that- but after the wedding was over, we are so glad we chose that route! (thanks Jessica!) the food was absolutely amazing and d'amico can probably do no wrong with their menu. we (+ our guests) loved it. the venue itself is gorgeous, and requires very little work to host a wedding here. just the personal touches. and lastly, the staff at d'amico/CBC was unbelievable. both of our families had nothing but wonderful things to say about every single person helping with our wedding. the staff and catering was more than we could have ever asked for, they were so attentive and so so nice. multiple staff came over to hand us appetizers, drinks and desserts that they were worried we would miss. we had a dream wedding at this place, and loved every minute of planning it from start to finish.

Beautiful venue, food is above-average wedding fare (the cake was outstanding!). Our coordinator went above and beyond to ensure that we were able to taste additional dishes at our second meeting, and took my rapid fire questioning with immense grace, experience and expedience. When I realized we had a wedding crasher, the event captain seamlessly aided our day-of-coordinator in making a spot/adding a meal. Bear in mind that while the venue offers linens and seating, it is very bare bones--and if you use their white chairs many look quite shabby, especially if there will be any daylight during your event.

We had an overall fantastic experience with Calhoun Beach Club! We had a few delays in getting questions answered by our representative along the way, but we always got our questions answered. The wedding day experience was phenomenal! The food was amazing, the service superb and the venue (as always) exquisite! Everyone was so impressed! We had a Sunday brunch wedding so the rental fee was very reasonable and they were willing to customize the menu to fit the feel of the event and food restrictions of some of our guests. It truly was a fairytale day for me and I wouldn't have changed a thing!

Though the night of our wedding was perfect visually, and the food was great, the planning process with Calhoun Beach Club was a nightmare. The Damico representative we worked with was a terrible communicator. I experienced the absolutely worst customer service I have ever had. During a walk-thru of the venue, after we had booked it, I told the rep. how certain things were broken and dirty and she refused to acknowledge my remarks. I asked if the broken items would be fixed by our wedding date and her reply was "maybe, we'll see". For the high amount of money we paid for our wedding I was completely shocked at how terribly we were treated. She also told us about a lot of hidden costs AFTER we had signed the initial agreement and put down a deposit. It was a beautiful spot, and it fit the theme and overlook of our wedding very well, but if I had to do it all over again I would prefer not to work with Damico catering through Calhoun.

CBC was an amazing venue that offered a neutral space to add my own personality. Even without any added decorations, the space is beautiful! The large windows provide natural light for the perfect pictures. What I loved about this space: I was able to do the whole wedding event in one building but in different rooms so there was no tear down and resetting the same room. I was able to have a bridal suite, a room for the guys/band/photographers to hang out in, a room for the ceremony, cocktails and reception all separate. It was all handicap accessible. The service and waitstaff were amazing. Downsides: Parking, doing valet is expensive but there's not really another option. You have to cater through d'amico (which was also great, but is pretty expensive as well). Getting from the parking ramp to inside the building is kind of a maze and you have to go outside. Overall, I would recommend this venue. My day went smoothly, they were easy to work with, and it’s such a beautiful space!

We absolutely loved everything about having our wedding at The Calhoun Beach club! The food by D'Amico received rave reviews, the venue was amazing and most of all the staff was wonderful to work with. You have someone every step of the way to consult with on decisions and help you coordinate your big day. Ours was perfect... the Boulevard room was great for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception!

I worked with Jessica who was fantastic, however there was part of her staff who annoyed me so much that I could not enjoy myself. They kept asking me questions while I'm getting the room set up and during the receiving line, it was not appropriate and it was about something ridiculous that THEY should have figured out themselves!! Not only that it pushed everything back about a half hour and made me pretty angry because they started annoying the MOB as well. We had everything figured out, there was a list of things for them to do and still the minute I got there somehow there was 1,000 questions. I understand a few questions, but isn't the bride supposed to relax?

We had both our ceremony and reception at the Calhoun Beach Club. The venue is absolutely amazing. The ceremony room had a large staircase that I walked down, with large mirrors at the front and large windows. It was very pretty. The reception was held in the large solarium room with the terrace - everyone loved being able to go out on the deck!

Absolutely perfect wedding day experience at the Beach Club. Wonderful staff, beautiful decor, delicious food & cake, lovely photo spots... we received so many compliments! Love the Beach Club!

Amy and Jessica were phenomenal and more than accommodating. We had major changes to our event and they made it happen flawlessly and went out of their way to do so. The food was fantastic, and the cake was literally the best cake I've ever had. Not to mention the venue, serving pieces, decor, etc. and staff of the event were beyond first class. Cannot say enough fabulous things about our experience here. If you want a first class event and service, you need to book D'Amico and this venue is the spot to do it!

We held our wedding reception at the Calhoun Beach Club, and cannot say enough positive things about it! The service was beyond great! Our guests werer blown away by the beaufitul set up and terrace, and the yummy food!

The location can't be beat - the room itself and the surrounding area are picture perfect. The planning staff at D'Amico are responsive and very helpful throughout the planning process. Beward that price negotiations are nearly impossible so prepared to pay for EVERY SINGLE thing...including a 2 hour parking voucher for a hairstylist. The servers at the event were very professional and there was a good ratio of servers to guests. Only downside is the planner you work with rarely is at the event so you work with a site captain instead. Our happened to be ok - not great - and wasn't overly friendly or available to the wedding party earlier in the day. Wasn't a huge issue, but definitely not on par with the rest of the service we got. Great location, but definitely pricey!

3 Months before my wedding I was contacted by my even planner and he informed me that the wedding had been double booked and wanted me to switch my date! After many discussion with him and a series of lies from him we eventually found out that our money was in and contract signed 3 months before the other bride. After all was said and done I decided to be nice and move to the smaller room and bump my wedding up two hours. I could not make another bride have to switch venues or dates that close to the wedding. In return the other bride supposedly had to move her wedding back a few hours. Turns out the day of my wedding when i spoke with the other bride, she had no idea the venue was even double booked. And on top of that the day of my wedding was chaos as they were trying to put two weddings together at the same time. Specific details that were in my wedding day list that Calhoun made were absent, the wrong side was served with dinner, labels were missing. The bride and groom both had soaking wet chairs at the head table and it took the staff forever to change them. Having a wet bottom for your first dance.....not so ideal! The food was fantastic and the place is beautiful but the service i received was awful. It is rather expensive also. If you spend that much money you should receive excellent service. I will never work with Calhoun Beach Club again!

Absolutely amazing! The CBC staff were so helpful and made the planning process very easy. It is the most beautiful reception site in Minneapolis!

Calhoun was beautiful and the service was great. I would have given 5 stars except my food was cold. When you pay that much for dinner I was expecting a little more. Other then that it was a great spot for our wedding!

We used the Library room in Calhoun Beach Club for our wedding reception. It's a great location in Minneapolis, they have amazing food, and everyone was very helpful. What really sold it to us was having two floors, which allowed some of our older guests to stay upstairs away from the music and our younger guests to party downstairs.
