Absolutely stunning venue! My wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn was nothing short of magical. From the picturesque outdoor ceremony space to the rustic/cabin feel reception hall, every detail was perfect. We went to take first look photos at the top of the mountain and can’t wait for the photos to come back. Our wedding coordinator Alysa and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that our special day went off without a hitch. The food was delicious. Our guests were in awe of the beauty of the venue and couldn't stop raving about it. I highly recommend the Bear Mountain Inn to any couples looking for a dream wedding venue that is all inclusive. The king suite is very large and perfect to get ready in. They also have a spa where all my girls got ready in on the same floor as the guest rooms. Thank you again for making our day unforgettable!

I got married there in 2022; I hope they've gotten better since.
To start, Val is a lovely woman, and she was very kind in dealing with and accommodating my mother, who was in a wheelchair due to having stage four cancer. Val also opened up the carousel for us to use as an alternate photo location because there was a tropical storm on our wedding day (in November- what are the odds?) She clearly cares about the clients and loves love, but, that being said, there was a lack of organization and communication that caused a myriad of problems that could very easily have been avoided if the very specifically laid plans I had created had been followed.
Val repeatedly misspelled both my first and last names, leading to emails constantly being missed and my husband having to forward them to me. She also never hit “reply all”, so when my name was spelled properly, my husband was left out of correspondence that he needed to be included in.
Val did not book the brunch, and only told me the week before, even though we had discussed it multiple times since we had our tasting in June, so we had to book it at the last minute. It was also not held in Restaurant 1915 as planned, but in the ballroom, confusing guests.
Val knew we were having the rehearsal dinner at Restaurant 1915 because it was on my very detailed itinerary, and we had spoken about it multiple times. She did not send me any booking information, so I had no idea it needed to be done separately, because it is not my job to know that. Val then asked me AFTER THE REHEARSAL, “So where are ya having ya dinner?” I said, “Down the hall.” She said, “Oh, ya booked it with Joe?” I said, “No, I booked it with you, in June.” She said, “Oh no… you were supposed to book it with Joe… okay, I’ll fix it.” It was very evident that the restaurant was not prepared to feed 25 people from a prix fixe menu, and so the food was late and cold. I do not blame the restaurant for this, and all of the staff was lovely.
My brother, the officiant, walked into the ballroom to place something on the sweetheart table along with one of our family friends. A member of the staff snapped his fingers at both of them and said, “Ay ay my man! You can’t be in here!” My brother informed him that they were doing things for the bride.
Val was supposed to come up to the bridal suite and bring us cocktail hour food. She never did. I had originally planned for my maid of honor to do this, and then told her not to worry about it, because Val had it handled. Val did not, in fact, have it handled.
Val took about twenty minutes to line everyone up for reception entrances, making me lose time with my guests. I would have done it myself in about five, but Val, again, told me she had it handled, and she did not. This seems to have been because the bridal party was rushed and hassled into the ballroom prior to entrances in order to give their meal selections to the servers. I was personally asked four times by three different people for my meal choice. Most of the bridal party, and many, many of the guests, were asked their meal choices multiple times. This is especially frustrating given that I had a very specific spreadsheet, that Val had a copy of, that had each guests’ meal choice listed. I understand checking one time to ensure that people have not changed their minds, but to be asked repeatedly by different people who were clearly not communicating is absurd. Why did I spend extra time and money on RSVPs that included meal choices if people were going to be asked multiple times on the day? I could have just had them say yes or no.
Val told me that people who aren’t staying have to pay for parking, and we would have to get tickets to people ahead of time, so we’d have to ask someone to stand outside and give the tickets to people- she emphasized that it could not be someone who work for Bear Mountain, and that I had to make arrangements, so I did- I arranged for my friend to do this, and I relayed this information to Val. On the wedding day, my friend spoke with Val about this, and she seemed confused, telling him, “Oh no, it’s a holiday, so parking is free.” The wedding has been booked for over a year, and we repeatedly discussed the fact that it was a holiday. Why did that information never click in her brain?
Ruby, our wedding night coordinator, was not introduced to me until the middle of the reception. This policy makes no sense to me, as I am now expected to establish a rapport with someone I do not know on an already stressful evening.
We had organized a private last dance and cleared out our guests before 10:30 to accommodate this. The staff turned the lights on and was cleaning up while we did this, ruining the moment entirely.
My maid of honor booked a room and was told she could have early check in. She was not able to check in early. When she was finally given a room and a key, she went to her room AND FOUND SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY IN THERE. She had to go back down to the front desk and correct it, and the oher guest was VERY unhappy, understandably. They then charged the wrong card for her stay, and told her she did not pay, when in reality, they had charged an expired card.
Gift bags for our wedding guests were left at reception. I spoke to Victoria and asked her how many guests were there as the final count, so that I could leave the appropriate number of bags there, and my friend could take the rest to the Holiday Inn, where we had other guests staying. Victoria was very focused on playing with her hair and not answering my questions, and she said, “Umm, uhh, you have 20 people.” I said I knew that could not possibly be correct, and I asked her to count the number of individual guests in each room. She seemed incapable of this and made no movement towards the computer, so I had to go BEHIND THE DESK to the computer screen MYSELF and count them. This is a huge breach of guest privacy, by the way. Ultimately, many guests were not even given the gift bags left at the reception desk, and some had to request them several times before they got them. My mother in law gathered up the many extras at the end, and there should not have been any.
My husband called down to the front desk for some bottles of water after the reception and after party were over. Kevin, who was working at the time, came to the room and knocked on the door. He asked him to leave them outside the door. Kevin asked who was going to pay for them since there was no card on file. We stayed in the Bridal Suite, which was indeed comped for the wedding night, but a two second search would have told Kevin that I had a card on file from the night before when I had booked and paid for the same room, and he could have charged the water to that card .My husband said that to Kevin, and Kevin repeated that there was no card on file. This was our wedding night, and we had to interrupt our time together to deal with pure incompetence. Ultimately, Kevin left with the waters, and we did not get them.
The day after the wedding, we could not find our Fete Phone Guest Book. I called up to Bear Mountain, and was greeted by Victoria, who told me everyone was busy and nobody could help. She then said she would try and contact Tracy and call me back. I waited an hour and heard nothing. I had to drive back up to Bear Mountain to try and look for it myself, as it had to be shipped back by Tuesday. This was the day after my wedding and the day before we were flying out to our Honeymoon early in the morning. I met with Tracy, who was very helpful and searched all the possible locations with me. She also asked how the wedding had gone, and I started crying out of sheer frustration with the dearth of errors throughout the process. I showed her my detailed itinerary and spreadsheets, and I expressed extreme disappointment with the lack of professionalism and follow through. We did not locate the Fete Phone at Bear Mountain- thankfully my sister in law had gathered it up herself. Unfortunately, our guests were not made aware that we had a phone book sign- in, and we had very few people record messages. It is the job of the coordinator to point guests to these kinds of things, and that was very clearly not done.
My guests were none the wiser to the behind the scenes snafus, and everyone said how gorgeous the venue and the food were, and they’re right. However, the bride should not have been so stressed on her wedding day that she was unable to enjoy massive parts of the event she had meticulously planned for a year.

We had the best time at our wedding at Overlook Lodge on 10/4/2024! Alysa was helpful and responsive the entire wedding planning journey, which made the day beautiful and smooth. All of our guests had a great time and raved about the food (including a couple of my picky relatives). The event staff were great and catered to everyone's needs. My only complaint is that the hotel staff could be more organized, as there was an issue with my bridal party's room keys that became an unnecessary hassle on the wedding day.

Alyssa Quick and staff at the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain did a perfect job with our wedding from the planning process to the very end of the reception. From our first consultation, we were so impressed with Alyssa’s professionalism, personalized attention, and enthusiasm for our special day. Alyssa helped prepare every part of our wedding from our initial vision, wedding floor plan, timeline, and hiring excellent vendors. If we had any questions, Alyssa got back to us with helpful answers immediately. She kept us on schedule so that planning was stress-free. Alyssa helped us with our personal touches such as setting up our centerpieces, décor, and canopy the day before the wedding. She helped us plan a delicious plated meal for our guests, arranged for us to cut the cake with Patrick’s (groom’s) heirloom cutlass, (sword), coordinated mother and sons’ dances, toasts, and more. She stayed with us the day of the wedding to ensure that all events on our timeline from arrival to the end of the reception went off perfectly. The staff at Bear Mountain all were calm, professional, and friendly, making for a perfect day. Our friends and family all said that our wedding was terrific and the venue, ceremony, food, music, and dancing were just amazing. We left our wedding topper at the Overlook Lodge and they saved it for us until we returned to pick it up. We highly recommend Alyssa and the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain!

Our wedding at Bear Mountain this fall was absolutely magical, and we owe so much of its success to Tracey, the Sales and Catering Manager. From the moment we reached out, Tracey was there every step of the way, making sure every detail was perfect. Her attention to detail, calm demeanor, and expertise helped us navigate the planning process with ease.
The venue itself was breathtaking—surrounded by fall foliage and stunning mountain views—but it was Tracey who truly made everything come together. She coordinated everything flawlessly, from the ceremony site to the reception, ensuring everything ran smoothly on the big day. Her dedication and thoughtful recommendations helped us make decisions we hadn’t even considered, and we really couldn’t have done it without her.
Tracey went above and beyond, making sure our day was stress-free and perfect in every way. We’re so grateful for her support and highly recommend Bear Mountain to anyone looking for a picturesque, seamless wedding experience!

I loved getting married here and I loved working with this venue. The views are stunning, the food was spectacular and the space is everything you could want for a rustic but elegant wedding. Did I see the not so positive reviews? Of course i did! Here’s my take - I chose to get married in the Hudson Valley during the fall season, the busiest time of year for the wedding industry. I chose a venue that does 2-4 weddings a weekend, they are BUSY. And you know what? Valerie, our venue coordinator, was honest and upfront about all of that right from the beginning of our planning process, giving us the opportunity to plan ahead. She was upfront that there was a wedding the night before so I couldn’t sleep at and get ready at the inn in the morning. She and Gia were clear about their timelines and when we were expected to hear from her, and I felt her communication was on par as someone who is managing multiple weddings a weekend. We hired a day-of coordinator (best decision ever) and a team of vendors who have worked at Bear Mountain before. There were a few chaotic moments on the day of, but at least it ended with 2 vodka sodas on my table 🤣. We made it a point to check in with Valerie over the phone often throughout the process, and she was always very helpful and friendly throughout every call. Her team pulled off the wedding of my dreams.
The only downside is that Bear Mountain Inn is in a state park so it can be crowded on a nice day. But it didn’t put a damper on my day at all!
That being said, I recommend getting married here. And if any Bear Mountain Brides saw recent reviews and are nervous - Stick to your gut and hire a good team of vendors who know the venue well. You will not regret choosing this venue :)

Bear Mountain was the first of four venues we toured when we began looking, and we knew immediately that they were the place for us. We began our tour with Tracey, and she was our coordinator for the entirety of our two years of planning. Tracey was responsive, she went above and beyond, and she made sure we were completely comfortable from start to finish. Tracey oversaw set up the day of the ceremony and the venue space could not have looked more perfect. The entire staff made sure that the venue fit our vision. The food and service overall were also excellent. Cocktail hour was a hit, and our guests are still raving about the reception food. The catering staff were also incredible, making sure we and our guests had everything they could possibly need. They stayed on our timeline and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible. The day truly was the best day of our lives and Tracey and the staff at Bear Mountain all helped make it possible! Thank you so much to Tracey and the rest of the Bear Mountain Inn staff for a wonderful experience!

The Bear Mountain Inn and Spa was the best venue for what me and my husband wanted. We met at a nature center and felt only fitting to get married at a state park. The mountains all around and the Hudson being so close give so many opportunities for photos. We had 135 guests for our wedding and at no point did anyone feel too close or not having enough space on the dance floor. We had our ceremony inside due to the weather and it could not have been more perfect with the mountains and the misty rain in the background. Everyone raved about the food for the cocktail hour, the General Tsao's Brussel sprouts were a HUGE hit! The entrees themselves were delicious, the staff were friendly, efficient and speedy. I can not say enough about how amazing Alysa Quick their coordinator is. She is so incredibly warm and friendly and helpful. She makes the entire process not seem so daunting and overwhelming. Our wedding on 9/7/24 could not have been more perfect. The Bear Mountain Inn and Alysa made it possible for us.

We had an amazing wedding here at the Inn in February. It truly was a daydream of a day. Having everything in one place made so much stress just wash away! The Inn perfectly encapsulated the vision my husband I had. It was a rustic winter perfection with so much class and elegance. Working with Valerie to plan our dream day was a fantastic experience, she truly went above and beyond to help make the day & night run so smoothly. Our wedding suite was HUGE and so beautiful. Like most brides and grooms, we barely got to eat the food, but what we did try exceeded our expectations.

Having our wedding at Bear Mountain - Overlook Lodge was everything we could have hoped and more for our special day! From the moment we first hiked at Bear Mountain to touring the venue for wedding options we fell in LOVE with the space and atmosphere with Tracey! Having Tracey with us through the planning process to the actual big day, she was incredible to work with! If you choose to have your wedding here, you will be in great hands and won’t be disappointed. Our families were fond of all the employees at Bear Mountain and are still raving about the day, food, vendors, ceremony, hotel services, and everything in between!

Having our wedding at Bear Mountain Inn was our Wedding Day dream come true. It’s timeless elegance and naturally rustic feel was everything we wanted for our big day. From the moment we walked out of our tour with Valerie, we couldn’t see ourselves not having our wedding there. Valerie and Gia were beyond amazing guiding us through our entire planning process with nothing but positivity and kindness. Whenever I was freaking out or overthinking, they reassured it would all work out and be taken care of. We were a little surprised that our after party didn’t take place in the entire restaurant of 1915, rather a side room and bar, but we it was still worth it. If you choose to have your wedding here, you will be in great hands and won’t be disappointed. Not to mention, a month later and people are still raving about the food. Also, choose Caked Up! Cafe for your choice of wedding cake bakery. Denise is LOVELY! If there is one thing that we felt should be provided or offered as part of a wedding package is a shuttle service to and from the Main Inn to the Stone Cottages + Overlook Lodge, especially at after a night of partying and having to navigate back to their hotel.

If I could give it 0 stars I would, we went yesterday for an appointment with Gia, but we instead met with Valerie who off the bat seemed incredibly disinterested in being there. Throughout the whole appointment, we only heard what they can't do instead of what they can do, or blaming rigidity on corporate. The base chairs are horrible looking and the extra $3500 does not give any sort of feel of being "all-inclusive." We were shown more of the restaurant than the after-party area which was incredibly disappointing since it led us to believe we would have the gorgeous area to use instead of a very basic and small bar area, requiring a minimum of 125 for a wedding and then offering an after party that could barely fit 50 people comfortably is inexcusable. Having gone to Bear Mountain Lodge my whole life, and my parents before me this was a sad and disappointing experience that has left a bad taste in my mouth. Gorgeous area as always but Valerie is one of the worst people I have ever had the misfortune of working with in any field. Her snide remarks and lackadaisical attitude were the worst of it, after being disappointed with what was "offered" and voicing concerns with how little there was instead of solutions we were met with an under the breath "Well maybe this isn't the venue for you." I will let that speak for itself. After two wonderful tours (one of which happened earlier that morning) at other locations that gave a full rundown of what was offered including bonuses and deals, we heard nothing from Valerie except added fees and hidden costs. The most we heard about anything is "Sorry that's just how it goes"

We had our wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn on 10/29/22. Our coordinator was Alysa and she was amazing throughout the entire planning process. The communication was easy, timely and detailed. We got the sense that she loved her job and clients. The Inn itself was beautiful. We had 125 guests and the room was large enough as to not feel cramped or crowded. The big windows provided gorgeous views of the surrounding mountains and property. The food was better than most food we have had at other weddings in the past and the portions were perfect. We highly recommend the Bear Mountain Inn for a wedding or any other large social gathering. Thank you again Alysa and staff.

I loved getting married at the Bear Mountain Inn. Valerie was incredibly helpful in planning the wedding, and did a great job giving us advice without pushing us toward anything. She was incredibly kind and knowledgeable and made our wedding go so smoothly! I had a lovely bridal suite that was very comfortable for my entire bridal party to have hair and makeup done while eating and hanging out. I loved taking photos at the Merry Go Round. All the rooms for our wedding were beautiful and felt cozy despite having over 100 people, and the food was delicious. My husband even got in a short hike to see the foliage on the morning of our wedding! I'm so glad we chose to get married here.

The reception for our Daughter's wedding was fabulous! The food at both the cocktail hour and dinner was delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The staff was attentive, patient, and always smiling. My husband and I were married at the Merry go round on 9/24 and it was magical for us. The day was a little hectic, but who’s wedding day isn’t.
I would like to highlight the excellent service we received from Alysa, the sales coordinator who took on a lot more than she should have. Thanks again!
There was also Jordan, he helps us during the reception so much and was a pleasure to deal with. I don’t remember the names of the bartenders or the other staff but every single person was just wonderful and so helpful.
During check in for me, the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.
The spa is where my bridal party had our hair and make up done. Annatte was amazing in handling my anxiety and the 11 girls we had there for services.
Marissa was my make up artist during my trial and my wedding day. I would recommend her to anyone! She was absolutely amazing. She took her time and answered all my questions and did an amazing job. I can’t remember the hair dressers name but she was great too! I came in on my wedding day with no idea of how I wanted my hair. She was patient and kind.
We did have a small hiccup with my mothers make up. Another make up artist did her make up and she wasn’t happy with it. Annatte sprung into action and had it fixed in no time. Even with the small issue, I would recommend this place. The way they handled the issue was professional and greatly appreciated.
I cannot thank everyone enough for how great our day turned out.

From my first contact with Bear Mountain Inn to the day of the event, everything was perfect. The food and service were excellent! The space for our event, which was a bridal shower, was bright and clean with an outdoor patio accessible to us as well. I could not have asked for a more perfect day! If you are looking to book a venue for an event in the Hudson Valley, I would highly recommend the Bear Mountain Inn. You will not be disappointed.

Just had my wedding this past weekend at Bear Mountain Inn and i cant speak to the experience enough. From the start Valerie our coordinator from the venue was hands on and super helpful, she was always accessible and there to answer questions as needed. She helped contact vendors closer to the date also and really helped it feel as seamless as possible. Day of she was very caring and helpful, she really makes you feel like your wedding is super important to her. The food was good, the price is a little steep but for such a beautiful venue and backdrop its worth it. Downside also is that since its a public park you get a lot of random people on the grounds, we had to wait long to get into the parking lot and had to park super far down. (same for my guests) Would be much better if they had a lot for guests of wedding and wedding party. Especially for the price we pay, its a premium price, just felt like we should not be walking for 10 minutes from the car with tons of stuff to be getting inside the building. Other than that that was our only complaint. Thanks again to bear mountain.

My husband and I got married in the Inn on July 15th. We postponed our wedding due to Covid, and Valerie was such a huge help along the way! She and Gia made our day simply seamless! They went above and beyond to help us set up, coordinated with all of our vendors, and added final touches that made us feel so special. We had a large party and nearly 200 guests. The lodging and all of the spaces fit our group perfectly! The food was AMAZING! Our rehearsal, cocktail, and reception food was absolutely delicious. The buffet was fantastic. It was such a dream to be married outside on the patio. It was peaceful and stunning. Our guests all had an amazing time, and we couldn’t have dreamed a better place to be married.

We have to say Alyssa, Alyssa, Alyssa, she was an absolute joy to work with. She was understanding, considerate, and caring. My husband and I got married on June 25th in the Bear Mountain Inn. We are native New Yorkers who currently live in Wisconsin, so we were trying to plan a wedding across the country (and then amidst a global pandemic!). We had to move our original wedding date due to COVID, and Mina was so accommodating and even kept our pricing the same. We transferred over to Valerie, who handled everything for us so wonderfully. She was easy to contact, always had ideas to help support our vision, and handled so many things for us since we were across the country. The food was delicious all night and the venue was stunning. Our vendors found Bear Mountain easy to work with, and the entire weekend was so wonderful for us. Continental breakfast the next day was also delightful! If we had one complaint, it'd be the hotel itself. There was a lot of confusion with the front desk on reservations and my mother had to spend a fair bit of time working it through with them in the midst of photos and everything else. All in all, I highly recommend the wedding team at Bear Mountain. Thank you Valerie and Gia for all you did for us!

My wedding was June 26 at the Carousel. I worked with Valeria and Gia, truly a dream team! Valerie made my day so magical and my vision come true!! Part of the reason I got so emotional walking down the aisle was because of seeing the beauty of the venue for the first time! They truly went above and beyond to make every detail of my day perfect! The carousel ran the whole time for guests and the food and cocktail hour was amazing. All of my guests have told me how great the décor, atmosphere, and seamless all events throughout the night were. I am forever thankful to Valerie, Gia and Bear Mountain for my dream wedding!

My daughter's wedding reception was April 23 at the Carousel Room at Bear Mountain. The place was absolutely beautiful, magical, leant itself so well to the party. The food was excellent, the service was great. The Carousel was available all evening and everyone enjoyed. We worked with Alysa and Gia, and they were prompt with responses and helpful in every way. I can't wait to be invited to a wedding there again.

We are so very glad that we decided to have our big day at Bear Mountain Inn - from start to finish, their services created a picture perfect weekend. Valerie, our day of coordinator, is amazing. She is kind, attentive and thorough - my husband and I very much enjoyed working with her. The venue is beautiful in its own right, even before it is decorated, and the food is incredible. All the staff at Bear Mountain Inn made us feel so special and brought our wedding vision to life. One of the best parts about having your wedding at Bear Mountain Inn is that you can always go back to visit and relive the day, considering it is also a state park. We are looking forward to doing so on our first wedding anniversary. Do not hesitate to have your wedding at Bear Mountain Inn!

I grew up going to Bear Mountain and always had it in the back of my mind as a nice place to have a wedding, but it absolutely surpassed all of my expectations. The food was amazing and the staff was fantastic. All of my guests have been telling me what an awesome venue it was. Everything went so smoothly the day of the wedding all I had to do was sit back and enjoy.

When we first Bear Mountain Inn, we fell in love with it. We almost didn't book it because we thought our wedding would be too small, but after seeing it in person, we KNEW we had to have our wedding there since it was so beautiful. On top of that, they offered such a great package, and Alysa was great to work with. Everything was amazing, and we couldn't be happier!,

We had the best time at Bear Mountain! Our wedding was amazing and very low stress! All of our guests have been raving about our wedding for the past week. We could not have been happier. So many things were included with the package and we had so much fun being able to stay with the guests at the lodge. Valerie is amazing and it would not have been possible without her. We love you, Valerie! Thank you so much for everything.

Getting married at Bear Mountain was easily the best decision we made. Not only are all staff just absolutely wonderful to work with, but the value that you get for the price you pay is just unbeatable! Everything was included in our package, right down to cake and gratuity. The Merry Go Round was the best centerpiece, and we're still getting compliments on the food!!! Alysa was our coordinator - and we truly would recommend her to any and everyone. Do yourself a favor - at least consider Bear Mountain for your wedding/events - you will not be sorry!!

Our wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn was a dream come true! From our first visit wandering around and meeting Alysa, who became our coordinator, to our wedding reception and farewell breakfast - we loved our experience with Bear Mountain! We hosted our wedding in the ballroom and had our wedding ceremony & cocktails on-site as well. Having an on-site coordinator was a huge help with everything - finding vendors, food selections, decor, logistics. So many vendors we met with had wonderful experience working at this venue and were familiar with the property - which helped as we were not from the immediate area. Having a venue with in-house catering made the food experience easy - the gourmet selections were amazing, our guests raved over the food at both the cocktail hour and reception. Service was amazing for the wedding- we had 120 people and no one waited in line at the bar! It was also great to have a venue that allowed for an on-site after party in the bar as we had many guests staying on-property. We were able to host a farewell breakfast as well. The only advice I can give it to make sure you know how you want to layout the room as it makes a huge difference to be able to discuss with vendors and, if you use the spa, make sure you are hyper organized because there was a lot of confusion (even though the hair stylist and makeup artist were AMAZING!!! I highly recommend this venue - and work with Alysa if you can as we will make planning a pleasure!

This venue is horrible! Only reason why I am giving 2 stars is bc Alysa and Tracey are wonderful! This venue is so poorly run. Customer service is 0/10 . Absolutely no communication between anyone. You’re going to want to book it bc the views and the venue is stunning but it’s not worth the stress and tears!! Here’s what went wrong:
1. They DOUBLE BOOKED my wedding date. Wanted me to change my date after I signed my contract and I hired all my vendors and made all deposits. Then they asked me “ if I just wanted to cancel my wedding ? “ Signing a contract means nothing to them. They hardly follow it. I had to sign about 5 contracts bc they kept making mistakes.
2. I was allotted a certain amount of rooms for my guests that were WRITTEN AND SIGNED IN MY CONTRACT. Then they told me they gave those rooms away to the Saturday wedding. My ENTIRE family had to be moved to a different location.
*** Originally they told us if we get married on a Friday we get these rooms allotted Thursday and Friday night BUT if we get married on Saturday, we will NOT be allotted these rooms Friday bc the Friday wedding gets dibs. Sooo we chose to get married Friday and they STILL gave our rooms away to the Saturday wedding.
3. The front desk does not know how to function! They can not make reservations. I would have to call on behalf of my guests ALL THE TIME to fix issues. They also take days to return messages. They had my family under multiple room reservations when they only needed one room booked. Luckily they did not get charged for these extra rooms bc I kept on top of them.
4. The day I checked in I was supposed to get the bridal suite in rm 315 and they told me they gave to the Saturday bride ! meanwhile my wedding was on Friday. Instead of giving me the large suite for Friday ( my wedding day) and then giving it to the Saturday bride on Saturday (her wedding day) they gave it to the Saturday bride Thursday ,Friday and Saturday ! And gave me the smaller suite after arguing with them for 2 hours.
5. Valerie ( one of the wedding coordinators ) THREW AWAY MY WEDDING CAKE AND MY CAKE TOPPER THAT WAS PERSONALLY MADE on Etsy.
Valerie, Gia, ( both wedding coordinators) and Saif (the GM ) are horrible. They did not help alleviate any issues. They did not care at all how many times I got screwed from them. Gia and Valerie will just stare at you while you’re making legitimate complaints and then they disappear and send someone else to try to fix the problem. Gias way of fixing the fact that they threw away my topper was “ oh we will let you pick out one from our gift shop” like what kind of answer is that? My topper cost me $60 and their stupid cheap statues were like $10 and none of them were actually wedding toppers just statues of bears.
6. Our banquet captain was nice but don’t expect to see her through out the night. We saw her maybe twice. Once In the beginning and once at the end to collect her tip. Didn’t come up to us once to ask if there is something she can do for us. Every time we needed something we had to ask a server.
***Alysa and Tracey were the only saving grace at that place and they both deserve to work somewhere better. Alysa my wedding coordinator is so lovely, organized and attentive. She is also prompt with emails. Tracey- who wasn’t even my coordinator is buying me a new topper and cake !! Gia sent Tracey after she didn’t want to help me. Gia went and hid in her office and sent Tracey to alleviate the issue which she did!

We had our wedding this weekend at Bear Mountain Inn and everything went perfectly. We toured Bear Mountain Inn toward the beginning of our engagement and ended up comparing everything else we saw to it. It had everything we wanted; a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, a natural and open reception ballroom (we got married at the Inn), and places for our family and bridal party to stay. We were so fortunate to work with Alysa, who helped guide us from tour to the day after our wedding. She was incredibly communicative, helpful, and sweet. We also worked with Gia and Mina at different parts of our journey. Everyone at Bear Mountain Inn was incredible.
A few highlights:
-Bear Mountain feels like a destination wedding without being far from home. Our guests were able to enjoy all of the amenities of Bear Mountain State Park and stay on property in one of their 3 options for accommodations.
-We were able to have our rehearsal dinner on site at the Merry Go Round Pavilion. Our guests were thrilled with the casual BBQ dinner (the catering menu is extensive!) and working carousel. It was a unique and memorable dinner to say thank you to our bridal party and family.
-Bear Mountain Inn has a spa where all of my girls and I got ready. They did an amazing job on all of the hair and makeup. We also got massages the day after our wedding, which were incredible.
-The food was delicious! Our guests were really happy with our options and BMI was even able to offer a vegan option for our guests.
-We were able to host a morning after breakfast for our guests who stayed over.
-The bridal suite! The pictures on their website don’t do this beautiful space justice. We booked it for the evening before our wedding as well and it made the perfect place for the bridesmaids to relax and get ready for the wedding. It was also included in our package for us the night of our wedding.
A couple things to keep in mind:
-It’s a state park and there may be people around during your wedding. It was not disruptive at all and didn’t bother us, but its something we didn’t consider before we booked.
We are so grateful to Alysa and the whole staff at Bear Mountain Inn. Thank you for the perfect wedding weekend!

My now husband and I had admired the views at Bear Mountain for awhile. A year ago we had looked at their rates for a wedding and it was out of our budget... Due to COVID our venue closed & we were grateful to be able to explore Bear Mountain. Due to the loss of business Bear Mountain had, they created special
elopement packages. It was ideal for us to be married in this magical space with our most loved ones (restrictions in place.) Mina Park helped us plan our wedding in 3 months and what started off as an elopement became a beautiful intimate wedding with 30 guests at the Overlook Lodge. Mina helped us book group rates for my party as most of us stayed the day before at the Lodge. She also let us decorate the space the day before. She really pays attention to detail and addresses any concerns or wishes from connecting you to vendors, your seating, rehearsal, etc. The day of my wedding it was about a 3 and a half hour event, including the ceremony, cocktail hour, buffet style entrees and unlimited drinks (wine and beer.) We were allowed to have a parents dance and first dance as a married couple. Now restrictions are lifting and I believe you are allowed to dance. Still- we loved that due to no dancing we paid more attention to the guests. It was a once in a lifetime experience and what is even better is that we can always come back to remember the night. I definitely recommend. Also, will say as a tip to make sure you reach out to their spa/salon for massages, hair, nails and makeup asap as they get booked!

Dear Sandra,
I hope you and your husband Juan are well and safe. I am sure you are enjoyi...
ng the married life! Thank you for wonderful review. I am so grateful and thankful that you chose the Overlook Lodge when there were hundreds of venues to choose from. Your wedding was that out of a fairy tale...truly. Even your love story of meeting almost half your life ago can be made into a movie! And we cannot forget your beautiful first dance to Beauty and the Beast.
On behalf of the Bear Mountain Inn, we wish you both, along with you family, a beautiful, adventurous life filled with laughter, joy and love!
Be well and stay healthy!

After having my big wedding postponed I knew I was still going to get married on that day. I contacted Bear Mountain and learned that they host micro weddings. James and I were able to meet with Mina and replan our entire wedding in about 2 months. My husband and I got married at the merry-go-round pavilion at bear mountain inn on 11/28/2020. Our biggest concern was keeping everyone safe; the safety guidelines were fantastic, tables were spread out and they go by the NYS rule of 50 people and no dancing. They currently have a buffet style dinner and have the servers who are gloved and have mask handing the food out, so no one else is touch the spoon. Everyone felt comfortable. Mina allowed for us to come up the day before to decorate the space, her attention to detail was phenomenal and she helped so much! She always answered my text messages, emails, phone calls, Mina and her team were a delight to work with. Also the scenery at bear mountain is breathtaking, I can’t get over the photos I have received. Thank you Mina for making our day special and easy to plan!

COVID-19 Review: With the pandemic making it hard to move forward with our wedding due to guest restrictions and my family being from around the world, we had to cancel our wedding. Bear Mountain (and specifically Valerie our venue coordinator) made this whole uneasy process comforting and seamless! We had specifically booked the Bear Mountain Carousel location (it's an indoor space used during the day as part of the state park for carousel rides open to the public). Think carousel area by the Brooklyn Bridge but far more enchanting. At night, it turns into a wedding venue where guests can have tables around the carousel and ride it as part of the special day's fun. Even before disaster struck, they were accomodating with requests on menu substitutions and tastings, always ready to answer our questions, and allow you to pay by credit card (ladies- use this option to get cash back or points towards your honeymoon!). I could not have imagined any other venue being this great. While we are not doing a wedding with the venue, we will definitely be using them for future events. I am normally very critical of customer service as many places/vendors miss the mark, but rest assured Bear Mountain is not one of those places! We went through so many locations when picking a venue and this one fulfilled every category - rustic chic, convenience of hotel on premises, beautiful scenery for pictures, and excellent service. I wholeheartedly recommend them!

We got married at Bear Mountain Inn in December. Everything was more perfect than we could have ever imagined. The Director of Catering, Mina Park was the most helpful and professional person, helping with the big stuff, to the little last minute changes and even helping with things like bustling my dress right before the cocktail hour. Mina knew that we probably would not be able to eat at the cocktail hour because of all the talking so she gave us samples of all the cocktail hour food in a suite right before we went down, which was so great! We had a very big wedding and we had hotel rooms booked throughout Bear Mountain and the room block and the hotel rooms were perfect, thanks to the staff at Bear Mountain .The staff was so amazing all of our guests were raving about them and even hugging the waitstaff and the bartenders goodbye at the end of the night. The cocktail hour and the buffet food were amazing. The venue itself is extremely beautiful and rustic and the amazing staff and wedding team at Bear Mountain make it even more worth it to get married there. 10/10 would recommend to anyone thinking about it!

We had our wedding reception at Bear Mountain Inn in November. It was absolutely beautiful and we received many compliments on the warm atmosphere and awesome food. Alysa was our coordinator and I could not have asked for someone better. She was extremely organized and responsive and gave great advice. The day of the wedding I did not have to worry about a single detail thanks to her! The chef was super accommodating to dietary restrictions and the staff was extremely hardworking and friendly! A bonus was taking our wedding photos on top of Perkins Memorial which we will never forget! Thank you Alysa and team for helping with the best day we could’ve asked for!!

It’s hard to find all of the words to describe how incredibly amazing the Bear Mountain Wedding experience was. They really made the day the best day of our lives. From the moment I sat down on our tour with Valerie, it was clear that this was where we would get married. She took care of everything right from the start - and not just wedding details and planning, but throughout the process she took amazing care of us and really made us feel special and welcome. Together with Gia & Alyssa, they removed any stress, worry or chaos about weddings, which is a pretty impossible feat. Mina is another team member who wasn’t part of our wedding planning but somehow she managed to be part of it and make the experience that much greater. What I am saying is - that entire team is absolute FIRE and you can rest easy in their hands. They are a FANTASTIC crew from from front desk to the kitchen. The chef is OUTSTANDING. The food is INCREDIBLE. The space is GORGEOUS and everything about every moment is WARM and WONDERFUL.
On the day of it felt as though the team were part of our family. Everything was smooth and as care free as a wedding day can be. And for that I am eternal grateful and recommend this team for your wedding, events, or for any occasion or emergency! They’ve got your back. (Valerie is a saint!)
Whatever wedding dream you have, they bring it to life. All the stars. And all the thumbs up (my husband was born with 3 thumbs, and if that 3rd thumb were still around, it would be up too!)

We had our wedding at the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain in the beginning of November. Everything about the wedding turned out amazing. The venue was gorgeous and we loved the accessibility of having the ceremony and reception all in the same place. The scenery was breathtaking especially with the changing seasons. It was also really convenient to have our hair and makeup done right in the Spa. Mina Park was our point person for everything throughout the planning process and she could not have been more helpful and accomodating with our requests. If you are looking for a picturesque wedding venue capable of providing most services with a friendly staff who goes above and beyond I would definitely recommend Bear Mountain!

Our wedding ceremony and reception was held at Bear Mountain Inn. We worked with Valerie who is the on-site Coordinator for the venue. Valerie was a complete treasure to work with. She was extremely kind, helpful and communicative throughout the planning process. She gave us great thoughts and insights. The day before and day of our wedding she was a Rockstar. When we would become flustered or overwhelmed she was there to help us think things through and she even found my husbands glasses when he misplaced them! We also had the pleasure of working with Mina, Gia, and Antionette who also are gems!! The ceremony was beautiful, the cocktail hour and reception was equally gorgeous. The food was delicious and the plating was beautiful. Our guests and ourselves included truly had a wonderful experience and were left with memories that will last us a lifetime! We truly have no words other than Bear Mountain Inn, their staff and Valerie are exceptional!

We got married at the Bear Mountain Inn -- Mina and her staff are amazing. The venue was beautiful, and we were able to make a last minute call and do the ceremony outside. The staff who worked our wedding were THE BEST. They took care of all the details, made sure my husband and I ate, made our guests feel welcome, and were just so thoughtful. Mina was wonderful to work with during planning -- she had great suggestions, patiently answered all our questions, and made our day so so special.

My daughters July 2019 wedding at the Bear Mountain Inn was truly wonderful (and our large family has MANY weddings). We even had rehearsal dinner there. The spectacular outdoor grounds, the perfect lodging, the incredible food, thoughtful party room structure, but most of all…THE GRACIOUS STAFF. From housekeeping to front desk, from wait staff to chef (Armando), from barkeeps to catering (Gia), we could not have been happier. Valerie (Coordinator) and Rich (Banquet Captain) were graciously professional and hands-on the whole weekend. A most memorable weekend and perfect wedding. THANK YOU 😊.

Where do we begin? As a wedding photographer’s wife, I have seen so many photos of different weddings and heard horror stories of venues simply not living up to a bride and groom’s expectations. My husband assured me that the Bear Mountain Inn was one of the venues that time and again did live up to the expectations every time he photographed a wedding there.
Without Mina, our coordinator; Rich, our maître d; and their staff our wedding day would not have gone as perfectly as it did. There was a snowstorm the day of the wedding, which led to plenty of issues and stress, including guests and our shuttle company cancelling last minute. This is where Mina really exceeded our expectations and kept me from having a breakdown on my wedding day. With so many things seeming to go wrong at once that were totally out of anyone’s control, she somehow found a way to calm me down and take control of any and everything we needed. Mina went above and beyond to make sure she found a new shuttle company for us to work with the night before our wedding, hired extra staff to be available in case others couldn’t make it in with the storm, and seamlessly rearranged tables to accommodate for the last minute cancellations from a handful of our guests. She and her staff even slept over the night of the wedding to continue working into the morning hours to make sure our wedding was as perfect as possible. I was given the freedom to design the reception space as I pleased, and my vision was executed flawlessly by the staff. We even booked one of the rooms downstairs at the Inn for our rehearsal dinner because we love the look and feel of the entire space – not to mention the incredible food. Everywhere you look it’s inviting, cozy, and romantic, which is exactly what we had in mind for our wedding weekend. We could not recommend the Bear Mountain Inn enough for a wedding venue. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!

I was in the car the other day with my daughter, and I said to her, "Out of all the venues we considered for your wedding, I am so happy you and Jim chose the Bear Mountain Inn!" The reception was just amazing; our guests are still talking about it. From the beginning, we appreciated the setting, and we knew it would look even more beautiful in December. We worked with Valerie who ensured that all of our needs were met and went over and above to help in the planning of the day. She made sure that any concerns were taken care of, and we were comforted to have her on site for any last minute needs and questions. Alysa assisted us in touring the hotel facilities so we knew where our guests would be staying and was also helpful through the whole process. At the cocktail hour and reception, the food was plentiful and delicious. The staff was friendly, courteous, and eager to please. The ballroom is spacious, and the dance floor was large enough for our guests to dance freely. We were very happy that we could have an after party in the lounge and then enjoy the guest brunch there in the morning. The convenience of being able to stay on property was an added plus.

We loved the venue and the coordinators were amazing to work with. They were very accommodating to everything that we wanted for our big day. We chose the Merry-Go-Round pavilion and were extremely pleased. All of our family and friends loved the setting and the carousel was a huge hit. We had 80 guests in total and the size was just right. We were a little nervous about the ceremony and reception being in the same spot, but the staff was amazing in how they transformed the room over a few quick minutes.

Our wedding at Bear Mountain was absolutely magical. We knew at our first consultation that this was the venue for us. The property alone is breathtaking in a rustic chic way, surrounded by nature nestled next to the Hudson River. Their holiday decorations are beautiful and create such an exciting and happy ambiance (And essentially does half the decorating work for you!) We had a Welcome Party in lieu of a rehearsal dinner Friday night at the Overlook Lodge. Guests commented that could very well have been the wedding considering how beautiful the setting was and how great the food was. It also put less pressure on us to greet every single guest Saturday at the wedding because you have a chance to mingle beforehand. The wedding was Saturday at the Inn and it was just about perfect. Everything was organized and decorated perfectly to our expectations. We didn't even need an actual rehearsal because Mina and Laurie were so calm and directing us as we went. The rooms were spacious and nice. I believe both the Lodge and Inn have been renovated in recent years. ALL of our guests commented on how amazing the food was from cocktail hour to dinner. The only real issues we had were that there are limited rooms available because it's not a huge hotel so we had to try and accommodate guests elsewhere (Also not uncommon, but just difficult for us to keep track of who was where and half our guests were from Michigan). Mina is a sweetheart to work with, but difficult at times to reach because she's really a one-woman show. We hope she gets more support soon! There were minor miscommunication issues between different vendors, but that's not unheard of and they were resolved in a timely manner. This is a reflection on how professional and experienced Mina and Laurie are. We will forever think fondly of our wedding and love that we can go there anytime we want to enjoy the park and everything they have to offer.

We did a lot of research and I can say with full confidence that Bear Mountain was THE MOST magical place to get married. Valerie and the rest of the staff were responsive and caring and let us have exactly the kind of day we wanted. The food is delicious and the chef was so accommodating of various food allergies. I can't say enough good things about the Merry Go Round at Bear Mountain.

If you want a 100% honest revue of everything at this venue, then sit down and take the time to read this.
First i must tell you this is a beautiful historical place that is renovating as i write this. The renovations are needed as it old and rustic, but they are renovating.
The main room is spectacular and has been renovated.
The grounds are awesome for picture taking. The rooms are so so and need work but they are very spacious and for a wedding venue, my room (the junior suite) was just fine. The bridal suite is awesome and more then enough room for your entire wedding party to get ready. The prices are average and what i expected to pay.
Ok now on to the staff and wedding event coordinator.
We were very very fortunate to get Valerie Z. She is a goddess. There is no way we would have gotten it done with out her. She is the best of the best. Professional, stern, friendly, knowledgable and most of all experienced. Need I say more? Alyssa Q. The nicest, easiest person to work with. We had over 100 people staying at the Inn, the overlook, the lodges and cabins and Alyssa handled all this with a smile. Dawn, Erin and other front desk personal. We bombarded them with people and room changes and i was worried they would get mad or cop an attitude, these two wonderful young ladies were the best. Ok, lets go over the mistakes I made.
When i signed the contract i didn't release we didn't have enough hot food at the cocktail hour, I didn't catch this and my guests were going hungry I didn't catch this at contract signing. Also only picked two dinners and one vegetarian dish, i should have had more options. But i thought there basic wedding package was enough but i was wrong. I said before they are updating but they need more staff and the need to move faster, The cabin were extremely in need of updating and repair. The overlook lodge was nice but old. Some of my guests loved the vintage look others didn't. The food was vert tasty but some guest complained it was cold. I told them to send it back and they did. Hot food was then served. The alcohol was served well and guests were tipsy so no complaint there. Again the staff was wonderful. Thats about it. If you do have any questions that i can assist you with please feel free to email me at robertecorrado@aol.com Thank you

My wedding at the carousel in early December exceeded my expectations. Valerie was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was kind and beyond helpful answering all my questions throughout the year. The food was outstanding as well.

We got married at the Bear Mountain Overlook Lodge in November 2018 and can't say enough great things about the experience and the staff, especially Mina Park and Alysa Quick. We wanted something rustic and this venue became our top choice and because of the view overlooking the lake we could let the venue speak for itself without a lot of decorations. We also wanted it to be as simple as possible and thanks to Mina being incredibly flexible and also recommending all our vendors it definitely lightened the burden. We ended up with 90 guests and because the venue had rooms attached to it we were able to keep all guests on location between the rooms at the lodge and the stone cottages (the after party was held here). The ceremony was also held onsite and we weren't able to do it outside due to weather we had great flexibility to decide whether it would be indoors or outdoors. The food was also great from the appetizers to the main course including the cake (outside vendor that Bear Mountain has a relationship so we didn't have to coordinate).
We used all recommended vendors and each was great and friendly. We used Bok-Music as our music/DJ and Brendan and his team did a great job from the pre-planning to the event. They used a great blend of music (ethnic/American music) and knowing the perfect timing (helped me coordinate thank you with music). We used Flowers by David Anthony which were amazing and because of their familiarity with the venue delivery and setup was perfect and effortless. Todd Marti was our photographer and Kyle Harrigan our videographer who both did an amazing job, and because they shoot this venue frequently, they knew where and when to shoot to capture everything.
Any wedding regardless of size is a major undertaking but because of Mina and her staff at Bear Mountain they made this a day much smoother that resulted in a wedding that far exceeded expectations.

Overall, our wedding at the Overlook Lodge was great and it had the rustic feel that we wanted. The view at the lodge is also beautiful, especially during the fall!
Valerie and Alysa were great with helping my planning along the way. There were a few mix ups and miscommunications during the planning which made it a little stressful at times. The processional during the ceremony also could have gone a little smoother since my bridal party wasn’t sure of when to walk out and were left hanging at one point. Granted we did not have a rehearsal dinner, but everyone knew who they were walking with and just didn’t know when to go down the aisle. I was also left up in my room by myself before the ceremony not knowing when I was supposed to go downstairs.
The lodge could use some updating. There was a leak in the kitchen the night before and the water was starting to come out into our reception area. Had I not seen the leak and called for someone to check it out when I did, the water would have gone all over the carpet in the reception area. The rooms could also use some updates. One of our rooms had a hole in the ceiling and one of my guests couldn’t even sleep in their bed because their mattress was soaked so they had to drive home that night. They did get a refund, but were not provided with another room to stay in. They also had over an hour drive home late at night.
There is no bridal suite to get ready in at the lodge, so I had to pay for two rooms the night before our wedding in order to have a guaranteed space to get ready in. The “bridal room” looks just like every other king size room. For those of us who stayed the night before our wedding and the night of, we got locked out of rooms during my wedding day and had to have a staff member go to the Inn to get us new keys.
The food was great and everyone loved the pasta dish we chose. The staff was very helpful with setting stuff up and breaking things down for us.

Perfect experience from day one with Valerie on our site tour to working with Mina in preparation for the wedding. The staff, the venue, the food were nothing short of amazing. We are incredibly thankful for all they did to make this day flawless!
