Owner
Christy Nelson is honored to work alongside her amazing team to create a new standard among event venues. The Benison will not only be a beautiful place for any event but it will focus on hospitality. Intentionally focusing on each guest experience allows the staff to anticipate and meet the needs of every bride on her special day. With a background in Education and Marketing, Christy plans to use the skills she has acquired to focus on the people side of the wedding industry.

Executive Director
Melissa joined The Benison in November of 2020. She believes in providing every couple with exceptional service and personalized attention so that every couple's big day is as seamless and memorable as possible. She holds a degree from Miami University, which has equipped her with the skills and knowledge to excel in the wedding planning industry.

Senior Event Specialist
Alyssa is experienced in coordinating weddings and events and brings a wealth of expertise to every celebration. With a background in Communications, she has a unique ability to connect with clients and understand their needs, ensuring a smooth planning process from start to finish. Her attention to detail makes her an invaluable partner in creating memorable, stress-free events.

edible to work with. I’m a very detail-oriented bride, and they were so patient and accommodating every step of the way. Even though they don’t usually do plated meals, they executed ours perfectly and made it feel completely seamless and elegant. They even have an entire closet of decor that I was able to use!! The food was outstanding in every way. Their chef is truly passionate and talented -he genuinely cares about the quality of every plate. He honored our request for three different entrees and created the exact custom sauce we wanted for the Brussels sprouts. Everything tasted amazing. As someone who is gluten-free, I was so relieved and grateful that they made every single item gluten-free, including serving delicious gluten-free bread that everyone loved. The food was a highlight of the night and received so many compliments. What truly made the experience magical was how flexible and kind the team was with all our little details. They allowed so many last-minute additions -a champagne toast, coffee and cookies late in the evening, and many other small touches -without EVER making us feel like we were asking for too much. They let us serve a signature drink they’d never made before and even spent a full hour with me fine-tuning the exact uplighting color I had envisioned. Nothing felt too big or too small for them. The venue itself looked absolutely gorgeous decorated. Every space came to life in the most beautiful way, and the atmosphere was elegant, warm, and romantic-exactly what we had dreamed of. Alyssa and Melissa were so darling and unbelievably nice throughout the entire planning process and on the day. Every single person on the team was genuinely happy for us, smiling, attentive, and full of joy. Their kindness made the whole day feel even more special. The Benison didn’t just host our wedding-they helped bring our vision to life with professionalism, flexibility, and so much heart. If you’re looking for a stunning venue with incredible food and a team that truly cares, look no further. We are ENDLESSLY grateful and would choose The Benison again in a heartbeat!!!

hat everything went well -- even sewing a new eye for a hook & eye on the bride's gown! Yvonne ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the day while we set up the decor and while the bride, groom, and bride's parents were getting ready. Mandy was always ready with a cold glass of water for all of us, and saw to it that chairs were available for the grandmothers while they waited to be escorted down the aisle during the ceremony. The food, provided by High Street Cafe, was delicious! The catering staff even set out desserts that the client provided, and helped serve them to guests. The only criticism I would give is that the event space would seem very tight between tables if you have more than 10 tables (rounds, for approx. 77 guests). We had 10 at this wedding, and it was nicely spaced. It is also getting photos at the vault -- a gorgeous feature of this venue -- with the space set up for ceremony or reception. Overall, I had a good experience working with The Benison and would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for a gorgeous place to have your wedding. Being able to get the hors d'oeuvres and catering through the venue was extremely convenient. I can honestly say that I had no problems on my wedding day and I give much of that credit to the amazing people at the Benison. I highly recommend this venue!
