When I tell you that Claire and her assistant Kelsey were worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY, I am not even exaggerating a little bit. Due to Covid-19, like so many couples, my husband and I had to completely switch gears and change the date and venue of... our wedding. We went from planning a wedding at a Brewery in Chicago with its own event planning staff/kitchen/decor, to planning a small wedding on my parents property in MI. This meant having to do everything ourselves, which was something we’d really tried to avoid, as neither of us are the “detail oriented” type. We didn’t want or need a full-blown wedding planner, since the wedding was small and relatively low-key, but we knew we needed help with day-of coordination. We wanted to be able to sit back and enjoy every moment of our wedding day and leave the nitty gritty to someone else. We knew we liked Claire the instant we met her (over zoom, as we live in NYC). She wanted to get to know US first and foremost, our story, asked what we’ve liked and disliked as guests at other people’s weddings. Where as other wedding coordinators we’d interviewed had tried to convince us that we needed more services and tried to get us to go with more expensive planning packages, Claire never tried to sell us anything. She simply listened to what we wanted and explained what our options were, and what the company offers. Our package included 3 meetings prior to the wedding, each of which was incredibly helpful and informative, and left us feeling like we were on the right track. Claire was not in charge of any of the planning, but her knowledge and experience helped guide us along, and consider things we’d never have thought of on our own. Claire was always quick to reply whenever I had questions or thoughts. The day before the wedding, Claire kept us on track and organized as we rehearsed, and on our wedding day she and her assistant had every moment of the ceremony and reception HANDLED, down to the very last detail. Their services included set up and break down, and while I had been anxious about the set up and decor, the second they arrived, I felt at ease. I didn’t have to talk to any of the vendors, or micro manage a thing. I was able to kick back, relax, and get ready with my bridesmaids. The space looked absolutely beautiful and exactly as we’d envisioned, most of it having been pieced together via various Pinterest posts I’d emailed to Claire. Later on, as we were partying the night away, Claire approached me to let me know that it was supposed to start raining in 10 minutes, and that she and Kelsey were going to start moving everything under the tent. Sure enough, 10 minutes later, with the bar/gift table/dessert tables/photo booth safely moved inside the tent, it started pouring. We all laughed and then carried on dancing. I couldn’t believe how on top of every last detail Claire and Kelsey were. They even helped do dishes and put together leftover cookie to-go bags at the end of the night. Our wedding was beautiful, a total blast, and went off without a single hitch, and we could not have done it without Claire and Kelsey of Best Day Details!
