r me to trust others with understanding my vision. Well, I barely had to describe some details to her and she just “got it”! Let me elaborate. Due to timing, my group was unable to decorate the ceremony space day before as planned. It was a huge stressor of mine because no other party members were able to do it for me. When Sam came to run our rehearsal instead of asking me “what do you want me to do?” She asked me, “what is stressing you out”. That question was way easier for me to come up with an answer for than the million possible tasks I could have had her do. I told her how the ceremony space not being decorated before the wedding day terrified me, because I would have to have my groomsmen do it, and not be able to see it before walking down the aisle. Sam calmly responded “I got you”. Somehow she said exactly what I needed to hear. Saturday when she arrived, she decorated the entire space, and not once did I worry about it again. The first time I saw the ceremony space was, in fact, when I walked down the aisle. It took my breath away🥹 She, somehow, was able to coral my groomsmen, communicate with vendors when I couldn't, and allow my day to flow smoothly. There was not one request I had that Sam responded with any resistance, a no, or made me think any part of my vision was impossible. She offered solutions and constructive criticism in a professional and loving way. If you know me, I tend to be anxious and strive for perfection. Sam strives for perfection and has such a calm disposition. This is why we were the perfect match. I am also a bridal hair stylist/ makeup artist. So I understand the chaos behind weddings. I loved her from a client perspective, but I also pray I get to work with her as a fellow vendor soon. My other vendors expressed how lovely and organized she was. I could go on forever about how amazing and crucial she was to the success of our wedding. But, unfortunately there is a character limit. So, I will leave you with this. She is wonderful. She is precise. She is sweet. She is worth EVERY PENNY of your investment. You will not regret anything. From the start she was awesome with communication and making sure our planning timeline was clear, and helped keep me on track when my own life got busy. Samantha and I definitely developed a bond over the course of my engagement and I knew my wedding was going to be perfect with how much work she put into it. She communicates with vendors and guests to orchestrate the details of the wedding ceremony and reception just as the bride and groom had planned. She makes sure every detail is addressed. For Clay and Madie's wedding, Samanth was present from start to finish. She helped set up, ran all the logistics during (the rehearsal, wedding, and reception), and she helped take down. She ran the event as if it was her own. She is so organized and thorough. She's exactly where you need her every minute but so discreet that others think she is a guest. She is meticulous and has a take-charge attitude with the most poite, respectful, and kind delivery. She really wanted nothing but the best for the bride and groom on their wedding day. we needed to make this happen. Her sweet personality was a huge bonus and made us feel so comfortable and at ease. The communication between her and my daughter was excellent. Sam was very prompt with answering any of my daughter’s questions prior, during and after the wedding. Her service fee is VERY reasonable. She traveled from Dayton, three hours each way, for the rehearsal and for the wedding !! Sam and her team helped box all the centerpieces and miscellaneous items while we were still enjoying the evening. This was a huge help and I was very thankful for the extra time that was freed up for us to spend with family and friends. There was a small hiccup with our food caterer and Sam quickly jumped in and solved the problem. I could not have asked for a more perfect day for my daughter, it was everything she dreamed of and we were all stress free thanks to Sam. I would HIGHLY recommend The Black Barn Event Planning. edding without her. We hired her very late into our planning process, and with only two weeks before the big day, she jumped in without hesitation. When we ended up 20 minutes behind on the timeline during the wedding, she didn’t panic. Instead, she reassured us it wasn’t a big deal, and helped us rearrange the rest of the evening to make sure nothing fell off track. I cannot recommend her enough!

She took so much stress off of me from the first time I talked to her and continued that calming, “we got this” presence all throughout the night. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to make sure our day went off without a hitch. She set up everything exactly how I envisioned it, followed my instructions and suggestions to a tee and really brought my romantic garden style wedding to life. She also let me borrow a cute mannequin to display my dress which made for some great pictures! If you are on the fence about hiring her, just do it! You will not regret it!

eremony where our parents did not pure their sand was left out and the scripture wasn't read by one of the bridesmaids because Sam didn't tell her the changes. The aisle runner was still in the plastic when it was time for me to come out and the words ended the wrong way with the big roll at the end of the aisle where I had to step over to get to my groom. The song I (the bride) was suppose to walk down to was incorrect. The DJ showed me the song he was sent and yep wrong version. Sam offered to decorate and clean up which I knew that was going to be too much so I along with my kids and family took care of that part. Sam and her family did help. Sam miscommunicated with my vendors so then we got complaints from them as well.Usually a coordinator has the timeline with them, she or he creates in hand but never once did I see her with the timeline. At one point I looked out the door and over heard Sam and the bartender complaining that it wasn’t enough alcohol. Funny thing is at the end of the night during clean up we had so many bottles left. I truly believe that she has a good heart but because she is trying to do everything with short help or trying to over compensate what she can do with our size wedding is overwhelming for her. Which caused chaos. I’m sure once Sam grows her business she will be better in the long run but because she is still new to this, we basically got to be her practice test. If I could change anything when picking a wedding coordinator or any vendor I would have had to get reference, history of work and reviews. Most of my vendors next day have reached out and checked on us and ask if we wouldn’t mind leaving a review. I haven’t heard from Sam since the wedding. 3/30/24
