I wish I could give 0 stars. My husband and I weren’t impressed from the start but we wanted to trust the high rating here on The Knot and other places we looked at didn’t have what we wanted.
We met with representatives from the Minnesota loc...ation and in all of the wedding process I’d never been talked down to until going to Black Tux.
When buying my wedding dress, picking our food, flowers, decorations etc every vendors attitude was “this is your vision for your special day, we will help you accomplish that the best we can.” When we met with Black Tux, the representatives gave us their opinions on “if it was my wedding I would do...” and when I said I wanted lilac bow ties for the groomsmen, they recommended something else. And when we said we wanted a white tie for the groom, he suggested purple instead. And when we said we wanted the dad’s to match with purple ties, he said “usually the bride’s dad matches her with a white tie and the groom’s dad matches the groom with a purple tie.” I’ve never heard that!! Also, who cares?? It’s our wedding, our vision, our money! Why should he care who wears what??
Then we wanted to place an order in January/February for our May wedding and he was like “we don’t usually recommend that in case someone loses or gains weight.” ................. my husband can eat 12 cupcakes and not gain a single pound. I think we will be fine. But no, he wouldn’t listen.
We came back at least two more times and got the same attitude from all of the staff.
They recommended we have a 5 hour (30 minutes for each person) “measuring party” for our 6 groomsmen, 2 dads, and groom..... over half of our wedding party lives out of town... who in their right mind recommends a FIVE HOUR measuring “party” where a bunch of men sit watching random tv in a mall when they could take their measurements at HOME and have their clothes shipped to them to try on?! Isn’t the whole point of this format to make things easy, online, and slick??
Also, while we were there, another gentleman came in and had a problem with his size. Instead of exchanging the wrong size that was shipped to him. He had to resend back the mistake, change the size in the portal, have a new option sent to him, mark the (intentional mistake), and then ship it back to get his right size... we and the other customer were just dumbfounded by the stupidity of the situation.
Awful customer service. No professionalism. Condescending. And don’t have the right attitude about being in the wedding industry.
I don’t know who you should use but don’t use Black Tux! Unless you want someone else’s opinions and to be wearing the wrong size.
