The Black Tux

0 Stars. Customer Service SUCKS!. My shirt was way too big, pants too tight and shoes too small. I contacted BT and I all I received were canned responses on how busy they were. My son, the groom, had to buy a shirt from Men's Warehouse because BT said they had none to replace his. Luckily his shirt fit me, I had to wear my own shoes and then just remember not to squat down for fear of splitting my pants open. A groomsman had to order pants from Men's Warehouse because they never responded. So not only did this too pay for a rental, they paid to have replacement garments that BT would/could not supply. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY. After the wedding I contacted them via FB messenger - Nothing, no response. Save yourself the aggravation and use a different vendor. They should at least reimburse those who had to buy garments. @theknot you should remove this vendor from your site. @theblacktux #theblacktuxsucks

I really like this company! They shipped my fiance's suit for our engagement photos so incredibly fast! The suits are good quality and well put together, but they aren't the expensive quality you'd find in a tux store in person. But if you need something nice enough, quick, and not too expensive, The Black Tux is it!

Highly recommend! Me (groom), my dad, father in law and all 9 of my groomsmen for our tuxedos and suits through black tux. I am located on the east coast and my groomsmen were on the west coast, but it was very easy through Black Tux. I picked out their suits, they got fitted at multiple sites and it arrived more than 10 days in advance. Half of us needed replacements and they came in with more than enough time before the event. We even had a destination wedding and everything arrived on time. Customer service was friendly! I appreciated that I was able to track the progress of my groomsmen in the process so I was able to reach out to individuals personally to remind them to complete the process. Again, would highly recommend!

I've rented tuxedos and suits for all three of my high school boys over the years from The Black Tux. The suits are modern, youthful, high quality, and expensive-looking. They seem brand new every time. The fit is my favorite part. Tux shops have wide legs, polyester fabrics, too wide shoulders, etc. Not The Black Tux, my boys look like they are modeling from a high end catalog with their suits on.

This was my first experience with The Black Tux and I was pleasantly surprised just how easy it was and how great their customer service was. From the try it on experience at home, to the shipping of the Tux to the address of the event and the return. I'd definitely use them again. Even the shoes were comfortable!

I used the Black Tux for my prom, and I was really scared my tux would fit me too big and I would look like I was wearing my grandpa's suit. But it came perfectly fitting, and it looked great on me. My girlfriend and I loved that I used the Black Tux. Will absolutely use them in the future.

This is the 2nd time I've used Black Tux. (Last time as a groomsman) This time I went for the Navy Blue and it was a hit. I ended up buying the black silk tie. Everything fit perfectly. I have 2 more events this year and the options are already reserved!

I wanted to thank the team at The Black Tux for a great experience with my rental for a black tie wedding we attended in Miami. The process was seamless from begging to end. From the selection and consultation of the tux to delivery with enough time for changes if needed. The fit of the tux was great to the comfortable shoes and the cufflinks was all spot on for a great event. The return could not have been easier with the prepaid shipping label already on the box. The only issue is the tight return time line for the day after the event. I would suggest 48 hours to initiate the return. On a side note the branded "The Black Tux" garment bag that I used as my carryon received more then a few glances from the other passengers. Cheers! -Jim

TheBlackTux.com was originally recommended to me back in 2015 by Tim Gunn of Project Runway fame. Since that event, I have rented formal wear and various suits from NO ONE ELSE!!!!!!! Do not make the mistake of going for one of the rental places you used for your prom. TBT's suits are cut beautifully and the process of adjusting sizes is the definition of easy.

Used the black tux twice now. They are quick to respond and send replacement items if need be. I suggest going to a physical location if possible since I personally am picky on how suits fit me. But the experience is easy!

Highly recommend the Black Tux! So easy to navigate the website and the convenience of delivery and shipping back your rental is by far the best. Rented a suit for my boyfriend for a wedding I was in and lets just say I want him to wear a suit every day now. My boyfriend and I both forgot his sizes so he took the quiz online and we used the measurement tips to help figure out what sizes we needed to order and then ordered a try on outfit in those sizes and it fit perfectly. Once we shipped back the try on we simply placed the actual rental order. Love how they ship your suit/tux 30 days before the event so that there is time for you to return any item that may not fit and request alternative sizes if needed. Overall great experience and the suit looked amazing!

We worked with Black Tux for my daughter's super small wedding. My son was her "Man of Honor". We rented suits, as opposed to tuxes and the suits were exquisite. The fitting process was easy and when one of the groomsmen had an issue (he measured wrong), customer service was out of this world. Prices are far better than anything I could find locally; and, I may be partial, but my son looked almost as amazing as my daughter. We almost purchased and kept the suit (you can do that, you know), but alas, he is growing too fast. I highly, highly recommend The Black Tux!

Awesome easy service that was well thought through, recommended by the Groom. Make sure you know how they measure fit as not everyone measures the same. Though taught on the website, there could be more detail for those of us not in the tailor world. This will save any adjustment issues as timing is tight but spot on. Quality was good enough some purchased their suit afterwards.

We used the black tux for our groomsmen. The process was very simple. At first we were very unsure of trying an online suit rental as a more affordable option for our wedding day. With the free home try on, it was helpful to feel the quality and fit of the suit that we picked. The customer service was great in coordinating with our groomsmen for ordering and sizing. The suits arrived 2 weeks before the wedding. We had one guy whose suit was too big, and he was able to reorder a new size that arrived in about a week, making it just in time for our wedding. The process to return to the suits after the event was extremely easy and the suits were of great quality, so much that some of our groomsmen wanted to buy the suits after. We would highly recommend using the black tux as a more affordable option for your event.

We used The Black Tux for the groom's and groomsmen's suits. When the suits arrived they were in great condition and fit well. The suits, shirts, and shoes all looked great in pictures. 3 out of the 6 suits ordered arrived less than 14 days before our event.

When my event had to be postponed due to COVID-19, Black Tux was super accommodating. I hate shopping and despise men’s wear ————, I hate them so much I won’t say there name . The Black Tux has my business for life. Wow it was super easy to order. I forgot shoes and the jacket was snug I had 7 days to the event. I called spoke with a human being and they sent me shoes and a larger jacket, I had them 2 days later 5 days before the event. Returning was super easy. I just got to enjoy my event. The packaging was excellent and made me feel like was opening a gift .

Huge fan of black tux. Just used them for my best friend’s wedding. My pants didn’t fit right....my fault...not theirs. Received a new pair immediately after ordering the correct size. Don’t let the fear of shipping fool you. Everything is pre labeled and packaged is reused. This makes for an easy drop off after the event.

I rented a tux for my son. The shoes were the wrong size for him. They had a different pair of shoes overnighted to us in Ohio! They are fantastic!

This process was so seamless. Outfits were curated , fitting was a really easy and accurate process , and shipping/returning went very well.

You should all be careful renting from the Black Tux. They have been completely 100% unreasonable to deal with. My Husband was promised a free tux rental if his groomsmen spent at least $1050. We decided to go ahead and do this despite the fact that their largest competitor, Generation Tux offered the groom a free tux to KEEP because we liked the color better. However, apparently this does not include the damage insurance. When we called to find out why we were still charged for his suit we were told that the total amount was $10 short because it did not include any "extras". We offered to even pay $10 extra to them to honor my husband's rental for free, nope...We asked to speak to a supervisor. I was positive that we just had talked to a salesperson who wasn't empowered to handle the situation. Nope, the supervisor also would do NOTHING for us and told us that had we called the day before our wedding we could have spent an extra $10 but now there is nothing they can do (1.5 days later). UNBELIEVABLE! Beware. Go with Generation Tux, they are the same exact thing and are actually reasonable...plus you get a free tux to KEEP!

The pants and jacket I initially received did not fit correctly. Thanks to Black Tux's fit guide, I was able to order more appropriate sizes. The replacements arrived promptly, were of very high quality and actually perfectly - so much so that people thought it was my personal tuxedo. I highly recommend Black Tux.

It was very easy to order and to return the suit. They were also very prompt in sending a replacement jacket when the one ordered did not fit. It's a refreshing option when you have a group of groomsmen spread out over several states, versus them having to come to a local store to be measured and place their order. Returning them is also much easier than having everyone try to get back to a store within a day or two of the wedding.

I had a funeral to dress for with about six days notice, and I had gotten too fat for all of my dark suits. I decided to check out theblacktux.com because I had heard a few ads on some podcasts I listen to, and I didn't want to spend $400 on buying a suit that hopefully would be too big for me in the near future. There website was one of the easiest I've ever used, and I was able to rent a sharp-looking charcoal suit and have it delivered to my house 2 days before the funeral for about $130, including the rush shipping. After the funeral, all I had to do was put the suit and the garment bag back in the box they came in, peel off the shipping label to reveal the new return label underneath, and deliver it to a UPS Store within 3 days of the event. It was a great experience because they took a trying time and gave me one less huge thing to worry about, and I've already recommended them to a dozen of my friends.

I've rented from you Black Tux twice as a groom and groomsman and two things have really stood out to me. First, the online interface is very easy to use. I’m in the military so I had groomsman from every corner of the country and the website made it easy for the guys to order their sizes in the right style. Second, when we did have issues with a suit, the customer service was very accommodating and quickly corrected the size issue one of my groomsman had . You guys made my wedding party look incredible for our special day, thank you.

The first time I used black tux was for a friends wedding. I was in the party and he sent me a link for the rental. I was expecting this to be one of the worst fitting tuxes I ever wore. But to be honest it was the best. Since then, any occasion that I need any type of formal wear, the black tux is my go to. The quality is incredible, the fit is perfect, and the process is super easy.

We used The Black Tux for our May 2019 Wedding in Indy. We were looking for an easy option for coordinating tux rentals for our guys because they were located all over the country. We visited one of the stores in Chicago to see the product in person to decide on a style and colors. This was helpful and the staff was knowledgeable about the product. The online portal is easy to use and helpful for managing the process. The customer experience team was quick to respond and accommodating, We had a more complex order since we wanted to mix match color pieces and they worked out a way to fulfill this request. When it came to ordering, the guys noted that the process was simple and easy to do. My dad went to a Nordstrom to try the suites on in person and he found that helpful. Once the tuxes arrived, the guys also noted that it was easy to exchange sizes. Overall, the process seemed streamlined and fit our needs. We would use The Black Tux again.

Everything came on time, the fit was incredible, and I felt great at the wedding I attended because of the tux. Additionally, when I had problems with an airline the black tux's customer service was top tier. They got back with me quickly and swiftly and treated me like a person. 1. Comments from my son's groomsmen and from personal experience, online ordering is confusing. I surrendered and called to speak with a human. 2. Contact was pleasant but argumentative with sizing. Based on my age, she ordered me pants that were too big in the waist and a jacket that was too small in the chest. I tried to inform the young lady that I've spend my entire career in suits so I know what sizes are needed. I was correct on both accounts. I will compliment y'all when I asked that the jacket sleeves be shortened by 2 1/4 inches. 3. I did not realize these tuxes were European cut with skinny pant legs. Being an old athlete, I don't have twigs for legs. 4. Finally, some of the tux boxes had loose return labels, others were hidden under original shipping labels and one had to be printed off, once a printer was located. I will say the quality of your tuxes is very good but some consideration of these comments with serve y'all well.

Amazing experience with the Blacktux! All my grooms men’s tuxs came in way ahead of time in great shape. Everything comes neatly packed, and clean. Maybe 2 out of 7 jackets seemed the tiniest amount of worn out but not enough to return. Customer service was also excellent, they even shipped a shirt overnight a couple of days before the wedding.
