make it simple for everyone- do not be fooled. This company is not it.
I also find it deceiving that their reviews here are tied to so many specific "locations", since they are almost exclusively an online vendor and the locations- if you can even get in one- are outposts inside retail stores that do fittings only. So I'm posting mine to Santa Monica, which is where they are based to my understanding.
First and foremost, Black Tux effectively does not allow alterations. You won't see this anywhere in their marketing, or anywhere on your agreement with them. In fact, quite the opposite- they advertise that alterations are allowed and reimbursed. To be crystal clear- they do not allow any removal of material, OR any shortening or tightening (even temporary) of any garment. Sleeves or pant legs cannot be hemmed and pants cannot be taken in. If you can find an alteration that they allow (I couldn't) they will only reimburse up to $15. Good luck.
This became particularly problematic for me because their sizing, despite their claims, did not follow the standards of the multiple professional measurements I had taken. And since they don't send you your garments until 10 days before your event, you have to trust that they're shipping things expeditiously if you need replacements, and even then it's basically guess-work because you're telling them "XYZ" item is too long/too short, etc and they're sending a replacement based on that. I don't know about everyone else, but with 10 days to go until the event- I don't have the time to go to a tailor each time I get a replacement to have them measure exactly how 'wrong' it is. Not to mention that tailors don't exactly love taking measurements for free for items they'll get no sale on.
If your wedding happens to be in a location other than where you live, now you have to play that timing game with where you're going to be on the day the replacement arrives....all with only days to spare. It's extremely stressful and every time you have to call this company you are guaranteed to wait 30 minutes minimum to talk to someone.
So maybe you want to avoid sizing discrepancies and go straight to the source for measurements? If you're lucky enough to have a physical "showroom" in your city or anywhere remotely close to you, don't think you can just show up. You have to make an appointment or they will refuse you, and their availability fills up extremely quickly. Once again, none of this policy is made clear on their website or in any of the marketing materials they put out to get you to sign up.
On top of all of the inconveniences- one of the items I received (a white jacket) had a very obvious stain, and EVERY item I received had very obvious hem-lines.
They say they provide the groom's tux for free for groups of 7+. This is only true if you meet a minimum spend per person, and you will inevitably end up adding items like button studs and pocket squares that you may very likely not want or need, to meet the minimum.
This company is absolutely in no way shape or form the convenience option. Do not be fooled. I lost years off my life dealing with Black Tux.

gate their website, figure out which pieces I wanted, and to set up our wedding date. None of our groomsmen had any issues with sizing and could take out what they already had. They were delivered on time, a couple of them early actually, and the tux’s looked fantastic the day of. Super easy to put the suit back in the box, tear off the old label to expose the new one, and drop it off at a UPS site. Highly recommend this if you’ve got your wedding party in multiple locations! Doesn’t require going in person if you can’t or don’t want to and easy to monitor who has and hasn’t ordered their stuff in your wedding party.

and they measured him and the measurements were the same. I’m thinking it was just the wrong pants. The same problem occurred with multiple groomsmen. We got the replacement a couple of days later and they fit perfectly. The guys were all wearing a dark blue color and Chianti ties to match the Chianti bridesmaids dresses. Okay. The tie was not Chianti which is like a mauve color. It was dark burgundy. It was also FILTHY. My brothers was dirty as well and his pants were the wrong size too. They sent us black suspenders and a black vest even though it should have been blue. I called them and they said they only have black suspenders. Lol what. That would have been nice to know. We would have left them out for everyone. The ties were all burgundy for the men but they insisted that they are Chianti. They refunded us $12.
What a nightmare. They canceled on my groomsmen 3 times. Eventually, they asked him to take his own measurements and upload them, because they didn't have the staff to do it.

On top of this we are being told that some of the items are available at the PA warehouse but due to being in the middle of their inventory they cannot ship some of the items we need and don't know when they will be done. 0 Stars. Customer Service SUCKS!. My shirt was way too big, pants too tight and shoes too small. I contacted BT and I all I received were canned responses on how busy they were....
My son, the groom, had to buy a shirt from Men's Warehouse because BT said they had none to replace his. Luckily his shirt fit me, I had to wear my own shoes and then just remember not to squat down for fear of splitting my pants open. A groomsman had to order pants from Men's Warehouse because they never responded. So not only did this too pay for a rental, they paid to have replacement garments that BT would/could not supply. NEVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY.
After the wedding I contacted them via FB messenger - Nothing, no response. Save yourself the aggravation and use a different vendor.
They should at least reimburse those who had to buy garments.

he selection and consultation of the tux to delivery with enough time for changes if needed. The fit of the tux was great to the comfortable shoes and the cufflinks was all spot on for a great event. The return could not have been easier with the prepaid shipping label already on the box. The only issue is the tight return time line for the day after the event. I would suggest 48 hours to initiate the return. On a side note the branded "The Black Tux" garment bag that I used as my carryon received more then a few glances from the other passengers. Cheers!

a wedding I was in and lets just say I want him to wear a suit every day now. My boyfriend and I both forgot his sizes so he took the quiz online and we used the measurement tips to help figure out what sizes we needed to order and then ordered a try on outfit in those sizes and it fit perfectly. Once we shipped back the try on we simply placed the actual rental order. Love how they ship your suit/tux 30 days before the event so that there is time for you to return any item that may not fit and request alternative sizes if needed. BTW...since writing the review above, the wedding was AGAIN postponed from early June to late July (I can almost hear the bride crying in despair). DO you think the 2nd postponement was a problem? NOT AT ALL!!! They issued a credit that is good for ONE YEAR. God help us if that isn't long enough...it would be easier to deal with a Zombie Apocolypse (at least you could see them coming)!
