Lexi was so amazing to work with! She always responded so quickly to my many many emails and was the best person we could have had on our team during our wedding day. She helped create the most beautiful space and amazing wedding I could have ever asked for!! Highly recommend for anyone looking in the area to get married. :)

Lexi at the Blue Heron is amazing. I have a “type A” personality and had so many questions and concerns on how things would work. Lexi was there for me every step of the way, reassuring me every chance she could. The day of our wedding, she and her team had things working like a well oiled machine. Everything was absolutely perfect, and putting our trust into Lexi and her staff was the best decision we made for our wedding. Highly recommend!

The Blue Heron was PERFECT for our wedding reception! We had our ceremony at the Notre Dame Basilica, followed an hour later by cocktail hour and reception at the Blue Heron. Lexi was fantastic to work with and made planning and day-of very easy on us. We bought a random assortment of things for centerpieces (garland, pinecones, etc), and she and her team were able to put everything together and make it look even better than we had imagined. We continue to get rave reviews about the food, too, which is always great to hear. The dance floor was a great size, even for our 160 person wedding.

We had our wedding here on November 6, 2021. It was absolutely beautiful and magical! Lexi is awesome to work with and so great at her job! The staff was so helpful! I couldn't have imagined our wedding anywhere else! It is perfect for our special day! Thank you again to Lexi and her team!

The Blue Heron exceeded all of our expectations. We had our wedding and reception here in October 2021. The planning and preparation process with Lexi was seamless and easy. She is a delight to work with, never shows signs of stress and is eager to help you have your picture perfect wedding. No detail goes unnoticed with Lexi and her staff. The food was amazing, we had people commenting on it all night long. The all in price we paid for everything was more than reasonable. If you are in Northern Indiana or Southwest Michigan, please check out The Blue Heron, you will not be disappointed!

I wish I could give 10 stars instead of just 5... Lexi and the BH staff are nothing short of amazing. The food is excellent, Lexi is exceptionally organized and accommodating, and the venue itself is beautiful. My husband, parents, and I enjoyed our experience working with the BH from start to finish... cannot recommend it enough!!

My daughter had her outdoor wedding ceremony and inside dinner reception at The Blue Heron in April 2021. From start to finish, the planning process was amazing. Professional, easy, flexible, and no drama. Lexi was a dream to work with and went above and beyond to make this day perfect for my daughter and son-in-law. Lexi responded quickly to emails. She had answers to all our questions. Advised us on things we never knew to think about. And, sent reminders of what needed done and when leading up to the big day. The staff at The Blue Heron are equally as impressive. They were dressed professionally, were attentive to all guests and their needs, and did a beautiful job setting up all our decorations. If you are looking for a full-service venue, please consider The Blue Heron for your wedding or special event. They do baby showers, bridal showers, and corporate events too! I can't say enough good things about this beautiful venue on the Blackthorn golf course. My family will have wonderful memories of this special day. Thank you so much!

Lexi at The Blue Heron was phenomenal! She goes above and beyond to help make sure your wedding is exactly what you want. We had pink ceiling fabric and up lighting and the whole venue looked like a fairytale, it was perfect! Lexi is professional and always responded to my emails in less than a day. She is super friendly and so easy to work with! I would recommend The Blue Heron every time!

The Blue Heron is amazing! Lexi is wonderful to work with. I planned my wedding of 200 people there in less than a month and she was super helpful and supportive. It’s a great venue and beautiful location. It’s perfect for indoor and outdoor events. The food was amazing as well! All the guests loved it and couldn’t stop complimenting everything.

We were lucky enough to book The Blue Heron in June after our original reception venue closed. I was so stressed but The Blue Heron was the best decision ever! I don't know how they weren't my first choice in the first place. This place will wow your guests. Lexi was AMAZING. Everything was so professional and designed so beautifully. Their planning abilities are completely unparallel as are the scenic views, the reception space, the food, the staff, etc. All our guests kept commenting how first class everything was. Everyone said it was the best wedding reception they've ever been to and we all just want to go back and live it all again! Thank you Lexi and The Blue Heron staff! You exceeded every expectation.

Lexi and her team did an amazing job making our wedding reception a fun and memorable party! Lexi was very easy to work with - she responded to emails quickly, whether it was about something big or small, and her friendly demeanor made the planning process a happy task. She was also great at sharing opinions on planning decisions when asked, which I really appreciated toward the end of our planning process. Our wedding took place in the fall, and the view of the golf course and woods behind it was a beautiful backdrop for the party. The food was delicious and there are a lot of options, too - we had no problems choosing dishes that accommodated a lot of dietary/health restrictions among my family members and I wasn't stressed about that at all on wedding day. The space was plenty big enough for ~120 guests, with room for a few more tables. The Blue Heron staff are truly wedding professionals, and I didn't worry about a thing on my wedding day. Thanks for the amazing wedding experience, Lexi!

We had our large wedding reception at the Blue Heron in November last fall, and Lexi and her team went above and beyond! We were planning our wedding from out of state, and Lexi was able to juggle questions and meetings with my parents who were local, as well as with us via phone and email. Lexi was always quick to respond to our questions and would send an updated quote each time we discussed changes in logistics. I even emailed her the morning of our wedding to let her know about 3 people who we found out couldn’t make it and she was able to make sure those tables didn’t have the extra/unneeded chairs at our reception. We had tons of different questions along the planning process, and she was always very clear and knowledgable with her answers and advice. The staff at our reception were all wonderful, and many of our guests raved about the food. Lexi and the venue were flexible with most of our requests as well, such as letting us bring in some of our own ingredients for signature “his and hers” cocktails. The staff handles all of the decor setup and tear down, and all I did was provide Lexi with a list of our decor items noting where I wanted them setup. I loved not having to worry about any setup or tear down, as I certainly didn’t want to deal with that as the bride and we didn’t want any family or friends to have to help with that type of work either. We were able to schedule a time the next day to pick up any of our remaining decor items. Thank you so much to Lexi and the staff at Blue Heron for helping make our wedding day unforgettable!

We had our wedding reception here this past June, and loved it! It is a gorgeous space with lots of natural light (great for the beautiful South Bend summer evenings!). We found the prices very reasonable. And Lexi went above and beyond in making our event everything we dreamed. She was very professional and extremely accommodating, even for last minute changes. She took care of so many of the little details and set up the venue beautifully. She was such a joy to work with! I would highly recommend!

Our wedding at the Blue Heron was absolutely perfect! Lexi is an amazing coordinator and was so easy to work with when planning our big day. The ceremony was beautiful and the grounds were picturesque. Our dinner was cooked perfectly and served hot by the professional staff. We had the sherry chicken and bistro steak which were both great. The steak was extremely tender and was more similar to a filet than anything else, despite being one of the less expensive steak offerings. If you want a beautiful venue for your wedding and an amazingly experienced onsite coordinator, we cannot recommend the Blue Heron and Lexi enough!

Lexi and the Team did an amazing job on our wedding day August 5th 2017. We were not aware of any issues because Lexi handled everything with grace. I felt like royalty when our salads and drinks were served at the head table. It was such as nice day so everyone wanted to stay outside by the bar and chat vs. on the dance floor. Overall amazing venue. All the guest were complimenting the food and its freshness!

Lexi is AMAZING! She made this entire process so simple and stress-free. The food is amazing (we got compliments from even the pickiest eaters) and the space is truly lovely.

When I began wedding planning, I sorely underestimated the importance of incredible customer service. Our potential vendors ranged from awful to excellent service. However, from the moment of our initial contact with Lexi, it was clear that she would go above and beyond to meet each and every need we had while planning a wedding from Texas. Lexi managed every detail and email inquiry with unimaginable patience, grace and quality. Her help alleviated so much stress that comes with with wedding planning. And in the end, Lexi and the staff at Blue Heron made our wedding something we will never forget- from each perfectly prepared and executed decoration detail, to every perfectly served guest meal. The Blue Heron is such a classic, beautiful venue with high quality staff and amazing customer service. Their policies are transparent and fair. We would highly suggest The Blue Heron to any engaged couple.

The Blue Heron was the perfect reception venue for our wedding. The view over the golf course was so peaceful and perfect for our guests, and for some of our pictures! Lexi did an amazing job helping coordinate the big day, and listened to all of my desires to make it happen. I am so grateful for all of the staff there who helped make our wedding amazing!

The Blue Heron was absolutely amazing. Lexi was awesome to work with. She made everything to easy and stress free. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. Our pictures were great and the grounds were beautiful for photographs.

The setting is beautiful, and the ballroom is beautiful. They recently did some upgrades, and they are planning more. Lexi (wedding planner) is very responsive and helpful. Anything we wanted to do, they were on board. Onsite tent allows for last minute inclement weather changes. Food is delicious, and portions are generous.

We had our wedding at The Blue Heron on 6/4/16. Absolutely gorgeous location for both an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. We had both there. Lexi was wonderful to work with, prompt to answer emails and all of our questions, and made sure our evening was perfectly executed. She plans very thoroughly and is on top of the planning process with her staff. Couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous location and smoother planning process. Would recommend to anyone!

We had our ceremony and reception at the Blue Heron and were blown away by the exceptional service and care. Lexi was fabulous to work with, and made my job as the bride so much easier!! There was not one thing I had to stress about on the wedding day. The renovations and upgrades that have been made to the site are beautiful, and the food was delicious! So many people told me that was the best wedding food they have had. I could go on and on about how happy we were that we chose the Blue Heron!!!

My husband and I worked with Lexi at Blue Heron for our wedding reception this summer. We really wanted to create an evening that was different that other weddings we had been to and that expressed our taste/style. Thus, we came to Lexi with a lot of ideas and plans of our own. We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the beautiful Blue Heron at Blackthorn! Lexi was great to work with and was always available to answer all my crazy annoying questions. We had rain the day of our wedding, but I was determined I was going to get married outside. The rain stopped shortly before our wedding and they rushed to get everything set-up. The reception hall was decorated and put together great. Everything looked beautiful. My mother brought in a bunch of stuff for a sweets table and they put it all together for us. It looked beyond amazing. People still talk about it. The food was delicious. It is very rare to go to a wedding and actually have good food. People are still talking about how amazing the food was. This was the perfect venue for my wedding!
