First and foremost, I cannot thank Bridal Artistry Co. enough for beautifully and effectively doing the hair and makeup of both my husband and my large, mix-gendered wedding parties in the 2 different locations where we were getting ready. Over...all, I think all of our wedding party and the MOB and MOG were very happy with their hair and makeup. Additionally, I really liked how my makeup came out. I was even convinced to try the false lashes which are usually hard for my eyes, but was very glad I did!
There were a few small snafus throughout the day, but nothing that wouldn't have me recommend them to someone else to try:
First, I did think that the trial of my hair came out a bit better than the look day-of at my wedding. I think my hair got better later in the day once it loosened a bit. But I do remember not being quite 100% ecstatic when it was just finished, but because we were a little running late in the schedule (see below for more details) I didn't want to make a big deal out of it.
Second, to this end, the florist messed up the bouquet and boutonniere order pretty significantly which meant, mid-my hair being done for my wedding I had to disappear into the bedroom with my Matron of Honor for about 30-45 minutes to call the florist, redo the bouquets by hand with flowers leftover from the rehearsal dinner the night before, and instruct the deliveryman what had to be delivered where. I understand this must have been frustrating for the hair and makeup team but unfortunately we didn't have a wedding planner to fix this error- I was the only one who knew the logistics. I did feel a bit rushed by the team to come back and finish my hair, but if the flowers weren't fixed immediately none of the wedding party photos would have had flowers in them as my husband was getting ready at his parents' house in a completely different neighborhood.
Finally, my mother-in-law got a bit upset with her side of the team day-of to be honest. We had planned in advance for the MOG, my husband's "groomsmaids", and the flower girl to have their hair done at my husband's parents' house. I know everything was scheduled and payment figured out months in advance, however, my mother-in-law (not knowing how all of this worked) asked the team day-of to pay to have a close family friend of hers, who was the mother of one of the ring bearers, have her hair & makeup done as well. Of course with something as regimented as a wedding day I understand this probably could not be done, but it wasn't so much the completely understandable "no" so much as the delivery which she described at "very curt". She became upset and forgot to tip the side of the team working at her place amidst the flurry of everything going on which meant that they called over to where I was getting ready and therefore I was alerted as to the issue. I of course was not going to let them go untipped by any means, especially since they did a great job with everyone who did have their hair and makeup done, so then I had to rush around along with my parents to try to find extra cash as all tips had carefully been pre-calculated, put in envelopes, and planned out ahead of time. I of course didn't mind doing this, but on top of the flower mishap, it added another element of stress to the day.
Overall, I must reiterate that the Bridal Artistry Co was very friendly, punctual, and I really liked their more natural look to their work that didn't look overdone or "beauty pageant-y". So truly thank you!!
