They tried to charge me $7,589 for the Sottero and Midgley Stella dress. The designers webpage states the Sottero and Midgley line has a price range of $1100-$4000 USD (see webpage 1) I found that same dress in another bridal shop that states the price is between $2000-$3000 (see webpage 2). I asked if they would add buttons because the sample dress they have in the salon is a corset that you have to lace up. That meant they "would make it custom for me". It turns out the dress, per the website, also comes with buttons (see webpage 3). They also said they gave me around a $400 dollar discount and that's how we ended at a $7,589 price tag. I did not see a price tag on the dress. They told me the price at the front desk.
They also said that it would arrive October 15 if I ordered it that day. If I waited until Monday (02/25/19) I should add 3 more weeks to October 15 and that would be the delivery date. It's a lot of money so I needed a few days to think it over. So, she said that if I left 100 dollars that would guarantee that if I decided by Friday I would get it October 15. I was actually really excited about the dress so I left them 100 dollars but something was off about the whole thing so that is why I went on a google search frenzy and I'm so glad I did!!
Oh, and I went to another bridal shop today, and since they sell this same designer I asked them if they could check the price for me. The dress is at $2,600 in their store and if I ordered it today (02/21/19) it would arrive in July.
They did return my $100 dollars the very next day.

I am always skeptical when someone starts a review by stating "If I could give less than 1 star I would"; however, I completely get it after my experience with this company today. First, on a positive note I can say I had an attentive consultant named Paige. She provided good feedback and I felt comfortable with her. When I recently went back on 2/10/18 to try on dresses with my mom and sister, Paige was great. We even discussed that we both had a recent death in our respective families. I decided on a dress and Paige assured me if I was not sure I could change my mind within 24 hours. On Sunday 2/11/18, I found out the expenses for my grandfather's funeral exceeded what we originally thought and I went back on 2/12/18 to obtain a refund of my deposit. Please keep in mind this business is closed on Sundays so between 5 PM on Saturday and 11 AM on Monday was less than 24 hours. I spoke with Paige and she stated she could not issue a refund personally so she called Dana. I am not sure what Dana's exact role is within the company. However, she proceeded to tell me she could not cancel the order because she would need to contact the manufacturer to tell them why I wanted to cancel. I explained my grandfather's death and my plan to return in a few weeks after the expenses from the funeral had been resolved. I also reminded Dana her consultant (Paige) told me I had 24 hours to change my mind. Dana advised me she would get back to me in 24-48 hours. I explained that was not acceptable and she relented by stating she would call me by 3 PM. Due to my discomfort with the encounter once I left I sent a written email request for a refund and detailed my concerns. I received a voicemail shortly after that email was sent stating I could not have a refund of my deposit. No explanation for the denial of my refund was provided. I called to speak with Dana and she refused to provide an explanation or put her denial in writing. She was cold, callous, and dismissive. It is rare to encounter someone so abhorrent and loathsome. Dana does not care about my grandfather's death. She only wants to collect money and will lie to ensure she gets it. PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! GO ELSEWHERE!
Rose was amazing to work with!! My mom was out of the country when I was finding a dress and she literally found a dress that I loved and she was a 100% certain my mom would love. Guess what? My mom LOVED the dress! Throughout the entire process she was easy to contact, very supportive, and was very encouraging when times got tough. I had such a great experience with my wedding dress that I even purchased my bridesmaids dresses from her. I have since recommended the Bridal Depot to others and will continue to do so. Rose, thank you soooo much for being so genuine and helpful.
From,
Rosemary A
Stay away from this shop!!
They are dishonest and you will not get what you pay for. They will leave you stressed and having to buy another dress two weeks before your wedding!!
Unfortunately, one star is too much for this place. This was our second appointment of the day and I was looking for one dress for my MOH. She had already fallen in love with a dress at our first appointment but we decided to honor the second one and go see if they had anything better. When we walked in it took a while for anyone to help us even though I had an appointment. Once someone did, she kind of made a face when I said I only needed one dress. She helped us get the dresses we wanted into a dressing room and helped my MOH get into the first dress and after that she disappeared. The rest of the time we were on our own, I had to clip and zip dresses because she was helping other people. I don't even know her name because she only said about 10 words to me. We found the dress my MOH fell in love with at the first place and it was CHEAPER so we decided ok we'll deal with crappy service to pay less. But when I went to the lady and tried to make sure the dress would come in the color we needed and ask questions about payments, she brushed me off and dealt with other customers. It felt like because they weren't getting a wedding dress purchase or a multiple bridesmaid dress purchase out of us, we weren't worth their time and attention. We finally had had enough and just left. Went back to the first appointment and PAID MORE for the same exact dress, that's how bad the service was at Bridal Depot. Maybe if you spend more money here your experience will be better, but I don't recommend going here.
Avoid this place at all cost! One of the sales people, Rose, is very manipulative and will tell you anything to make a sale. I went to the Bridal Depot with an open mind and the idea that I would just try on a few dresses without buying. I happen to find a Justin Alexander dress I really liked, but wasn't ready to buy. I asked Rose how much the dress cost because they don't have price tags on any of their dresses and she told me $2400. When I told her that was out of my price range, she said they had a coupon for $1000 off that was expiring that day. She also told me that the dress would be custom made to fit my measurements so I'd save money on alterations, and would even come with a free veil worth $380. When I was still hesitant about buying, she told me that I could return the dress if I changed my mind and was willing to give me as much time as I needed. It all sounded too good to be true but I really liked the dress and wasn't ready to walk away from the deal so I ended up buying it.
Shortly after this encounter, I went dress shopping at another boutique and after telling them about the deal I got at bridal depot they told me I had been lied to, that the dress Rose claimed cost $2400 really only costs $1600 and that it's common for the bridal depot to pretend there's some special deal or coupon expiring that day to pressure you into buying. They also told me that Justin Alexander does not do custom work and that all their dresses come in standard sizes. To top it off, I found the exact same veil that Rose claimed cost $380 for $200 elsewhere, I was outraged! Literally everything that came out of Rose's mouth was a lie and it didn't end there. I called Rose 2 weeks after I purchased the dress to ask for a refund and she told me "no problem. " I didn't bother explaining that I knew she had lied to me about the dress because I just wanted my money back. Every time I would call her to check on the status of the dress, she would tell me "I'm waiting for email confirmation," or "it's pending." Three weeks after I first requested a refund, Rose told me, "Corporate is going to call you so you can explain why you want to return the dress. They didn't believe me when I told them you wanted time to decide on the dress and they want to know why you took so long. They should call you today or tomorrow but call me back if you don't hear from them." Um... are you kidding me? At this point I knew I was getting the run-around and that Rose most likely had no intention of refunding my money. Who should have to defend themselves to "corporate"?! I disputed the charge with my credit card company and thankfully they refunded my money and handled the situation. Needless to say, "corporate" never called. Seriously, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!
Do not go here!. If I could give a negative star I would.
What a horrible experience. Weddings are stressful enough but the incompetence and lies here tripled the stress. I ordered the dress in February (for a September wedding) without trying out on because it was not in stock. They promised I could return it is it did not fit right or if I didn't like for a full refund. Thank God they put it on the receipt.
I came in on a Saturday in early February and they measured me explaining that the dress would be specifically for my measurements so I could avoid needing a tailor. I was told the dress would come in in June. June came and went. No dress. I emailed ,2 times to check on status. No response. July 8- I called. It became clear during the phone call that the dress had never been ordered. They were then going to charge me a rush fee to get the dress in. They did back of that. The dress finally arrived in the beginning of August (remember it was a September 4 wedding). It was huge and essentially looked like it was wearing me.
Luckily, they had a dress hanging in the store that worked. It fit perfectly. They then said the new dress cost exactly the amount of the old dress. We looked on line and found the same dress. It was a discontinued model that was hundreds of dollars cheaper. I was shocked that they were going to charge the same amount. They finally backed down and sold it to me for the price on line. Then they informed me that my original dress was non refundable. I had to argue with them about theirs and reminded then that they receipt said fully refundable. After much discussion they did refund it.
There were several minor fixes needed to the new dress. I also ordered a veil which they carefully measured. They said they would have the veil and repairs done by the following weekend) two weeks out from the wedding). I arrived to pick them up and the veil was 12 inches too long and the dress had not been repaired. At that time I finally lost it. I started to cry. They assured me that it would all be fixed within an hour. I left for an hour and a half. Finally, it was done and I had my dress and veil.
Again, I do not want anyone to have to go through what I went through. Do not use Bridal Depot!!!!!
Please listen to these reviews and DO NOT do business with this shop. I wish I had listened. I arrived to try on my dress and it was the wrong color. Dana, "the owner" said Maggie Sottero sent the light gold dress but her store had ordered it correctly in Ivory. The designer confirmed with me that was a lie. Two weeks later, I was told the new dress in the correct color was “in” and I went to try it on. I noticed the patch of lace of a different shade sewed over a rip in the original lace in the back of the dress near the train. Dana said she’d never seen that until I pointed it out and it must be a defect from Maggie Sottero. She then told me she would contact your company and exchange it ASAP. That was the second lie. This was the second time I had been in her store to pick up my dress and there were problems but not once had she offered a discount. I was pretty sure a designer with Maggie Sottero’s reputation would NEVER send the wrong color dress then turn around and send a defective dress. So, I called them and they confirmed that she ordered the wrong color and never returned it! She was trying to sell me a pieced together dress with the lace from one dress and the slip underneath in the correct color taken from a different dress in her shop!! She actually would have gotten away with it and got full price from me if that patch of lace wasn't a different shade. Dana and Dora are the two shadiest people I have ever dealt with in my life! She refused to give me a refund and told me she couldn't exchange the dress with the designer. Of course she couldn't!! It was damaged!! My only offer was to buy the pieced together gown for $300 off and alterations. With only 1 month until my wedding, I had no choice. Please listen to these reviews and do not do business of any kind with this dishonest, deceitful woman.
One star would be too many. I made the mistake of entrusting it to them for cleaning, pressing and preservation.
They charged me over $280 right away, and after over 2 months I got nothing done.
The manager was extremely rude and unprofessional. She did not care of me leaving unhappy and even said she did not care I would have wrote bad reviews. So here I am, making sure I spread the word of how terrible their services are. Here is my story:
When I first got my gown back I realized it had not been ironed at all. I complained and then the maager admitted the job was not done right (she tried to stick it to me). However, she asked me to gave her the chance to fix it, so I tried working with them to have the cleaning and ironing redone..... 3 times! After going in that place 5 times, back and forth, I ran out of patient and requested a refund.
THEY REFUSED ME A REFUND AND ASKED ME TO LEAVE, because other brides at the store appeared quite worried of my bad experience.
So I did leave, bringing with me my wrinkled gown in a broken box. This is how they treat their clients.
All I had left to do was filing a fraud claim and dispute the payment. The legal office of my bank is currently handling the case. I fortunately took a lot of pictures and videos every single time I went there, documenting their lack of professionalism and that I did not get the service I paid for.
My suggestion: do not give them your business, or you will end up like me. IF you will still decide to trust them and purchase items or services from them, make sure you pay them later, after you see the job done. Document your experience, save receipts and record what they tell you. Good luck.
I wish that I could give Bridal Depot negative stars to help other brides avoid it. DON’T GO HERE. This was the most stressful part of my entire wedding, and I was still dealing with them even after my wedding was done. Weddings are crazy, expensive ordeals. Bridal Depot should be all about helping brides. Instead, they use sneaky tactics in an attempt to take advantage of their customers. From me having to call for weeks leaving messages before hearing back from them, to driving up there for dress fittings with a dress that isn’t mine, to them losing my belt and having to order one last minute, to having charges on alterations that were saying would be included, to fighting for SIX MONTHS to get a refund on that stupid veil, I am convinced you would be better served going just about anywhere else. Bridal Depot is an unprofessional, disorganized, and shady place, staffed with some smiling, fast-talking workers trying to bleed you for as much money as they can. RUN.
I said yes to my dress at The Bridal Depot. Rose was so easy to work with; she was friendly, fun, and attentive, and made the experience memorable. After trying on 20 to 30 dresses at other stores, I went in knowing I wanted one dress in particular. It was a recent release from Maggie Sottero and the other salons had not gotten it in yet. I was so relieved when I found out The Bridal Depot had it in stock. I rushed in, and was thrilled when the dress fit me and the image I wanted. Rose helped me feel beautiful on my wedding day. I received a ton of compliments from our guests (and our photographer) about how beautiful the dress is, that they had never seen it before. The dress is now preserved so I can cherish it for years to come.
If I could go back I would have tried the dress on and ordered elsewhere. I will say on the very first visit, they were nice, but after consecutive visits I was to feel that the whole debautcal was my fault and did not receive so much as an I'm sorry until the 4th four hour round trip there. I am now taking my bridals TWO WEEKS before the wedding when I ordered my dress 9 months in advance. Please don't make this stressful time any worse. Go somewhere with 5 stars. The only reason I gave this any stars at all was because I have to in order to submit.
I bought my wedding dress from Bridal Depot. I knew I wanted a Maggie Sottero gown and this place was one of just a few salons that carried her dresses. When I first walked in, I was a little apprehensive because it was not like the bridal salons you see on tv. I walked in and was shown the dress room and it was organized by designer and they told me to just browse and pick out dresses I liked and bring them to the dressing room. It wasn't like where they take you into the dressing room and get to know you and try to get a vision of your wedding and the type of dress you are looking for and then they go do the shopping for you. This is a very much do it yourself kind of wedding dress shop. Anyways, I pulled about 10 dresses I liked and started trying them on. the fourth dress I put on I knew immediately it was the one. Rose was extremely nice and helpful and she even honored the Bridal Extravaganza discount even though I was a couple of days past the deadline. If I could do it all over again, I would probably go to a few other salons just to be able to get the real experience I had always dreamed of, but overall, I found my gown at Bridal Depot and couldn't have been any happier with Rose or Dana (the alterations lady).
I made a weekend out of shopping for my wedding dress and had been to 9 different stores trying on dresses. I had found some beautiful gowns, but not one that I knew was the one I had to have. I just wanted to visit Bridal Depot before making a decision as they had some beautiful gowns online. I went in the store after work and was very pleased with the selection. The dresses online are not an accurate depiction of the current inventory, but they give you an idea of what kind of dresses you can find there. I not only found one dress, but ended up buying 2 dresses. So 10 stores later, after trying on probably 50 dresses, I loved 2 dresses so much I wore one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I would not have been able to afford to get both if I had not gotten such a good deal on them. Rose was so helpful and knowledgable about everything wedding related, and I ended up purchasing both dresses that day. I also got my veil and all my jewelry from Bridal Depot as it all matched my dress perfectly. With Rose and Bridal Depot, wedding dress shopping was easy and fun! I even went back to get my dress cleaned there after we got married.
I had a great experience purchasing my dress from Bridal Depot. I brought 7 people with me and they were very accommodating! Rose was wonderful and picked out great dresses that fit my body type! It was very hard to choose, but I was able to pick one and it came in about a month ago! It fits wonderfully and is just a beautiful as I remember!
I know the outside of the building can look a little scary, but make your way to the third floor and see the beautiful dresses they have a great prices!
I walked into the shop and spoke with the sales lady Rosie I verbally expressed what I wanted for my wedding dress, and the price range I was willing to pay. I tried on 1 dress, and it was more than what I expected. She turned me into the most beautiful bride that I could image. I was a walk in on a Saturday and was not expecting to find what I wanted, let alone the price range.Of course the dress had to be ordered in the color that I wanted, but it was back in the store 2 weeks before expected. Would recommend this place of business for any bride.
I bought my dress from this lady named Rose she is so amazing and new exactly my style and everything. They have a variety of dresses. There a descent price also.
They had the emerald green color I was looking for. The shopping and ordering process went off pretty smooth. Then came time for pick-ups. All the Tuxes came in a day or 2 before the wedding, too close for my comfort. Also, sizes were wrong and off for jackets, pants, and shoes! We ordered for 7 gentlemen. Could have been better. The staff was nice; wished they were more organized and on top of things.
I bought two dresses from bridal depot, ceremony and reception dress. Rose and Dora were there nth times and did everything they could to help me. They have a huge selection of dresses and I tried on as many as I wanted to. I felt comfortable and never pressured to buy anything, even though I did end up buying there. This place is highly recommended!!
This place was a life saver!! Rose and Dora are highly experienced professionals who are willing to do what ever they can on the drop of a dime. They found me my PERFECT dress and handled all the details.
They also helped m e pic out my bridesmaid's dress. IN house alterations done with in the week!
The bridal depot has everything you will need for you wedding in one place. I personally only did my dress and alterations there but it was flawless. The dress shop has tons of dresses to choose from and wonderful staff to help. The prices were affordable and the dress got here fast. Alterations was downstairs and it was great. She saved me $800+ In alterations by telling me to go buy different shoes. It was fast and fun and was exactly what I wanted!
Due to work constraints, I had to order my dress all the way from Ohio. Rose handled everything with poise and grace. The dress was even more beautiful than I could have imagined and I owe that to her and their excellent alteration team.
This place is totally shady looking and smells of pee but they have the most beautiful dress and an alterations lady that will fit your dress as if it was made for you honey!! The sales lady Rosea so sweet and helpful! They got my dress to me on time and work with me until it fit perfectly!
I bought my wedding dress here after an unsuccesful trip to Alfred Angelo. They had SO MANY to choose from, and great designers like Mori Lee and Maggie Sottero. Much better quality than the mass produced dresses at AA. I found an amazing dress in budget. The place doesn't look that nice, but I was very pleased with the selection and the staff. I definitely recommend it.
I got my dress at the Bridal Depot in Houston. This place was excellent as the first two stories are all kinds of weddings vendors. This is truly a one stop shop! The whole top story is a bridal salon with a huge variety of dresses! I had a favorite dress I had seen in magazines but I knew it would be way too expensive. When I saw it on display there I was tempted to try it on but knew I would be heartbroken if I tried it on and loved it but couldn't afford it. When my dress consultant, Dora, saw this she lit up and said she had the perfect dress for me! She pulled one that I had seen already rummaging through the racks but passed by because I didn’t think I would like it, but I agreed to try it on. Was she ever right! It had every aspect of the original “dream dress” that I loved for half the cost! There were even aspects that I liked more! Dora was so quick at getting me in and out of all the dresses that I tried on, even the lace up ones, that I wish she had been there for my actual wedding day! Once I had on the dress I loved I didn’t want to take it off and she was so patient with me and let me stand there in it for an hour! She wasn’t at all pushy even when I said I wanted to think on it overnight. And sure enough I was back in the morning to make my purchase! She even let me try it on again I had a wonderful experience and would recommend Dora and the Bridal Depot to every Bride!
Vendor is very flexible, no appointments required to walk into the store and check out their dresses. However, they are unresponsive to my e-mails regarding my dress. I could not find a picture of my dress online. I've asked the vendor to send me a picture of my dress from the designer over the phone and via e-mail. however, they are unresponsive to my request. I'm not even sure if the vendor is cheating me of my money b/c my favorite designer Maggie Sottero has not posted a picture of my dress that I have ordered from this store. Take this as a warning.
One other note, I finally took my dress to an alteration 3 months after I picked up my dress. Guess what??? She told me my dress was USED! She showed me the seams that have been cut and lines that were drawn for the last alteration. I cannot believe this. It was too close to the wedding to keep complaining to the store at this point!
I should have known better than to shop here to begin with. This place is completely runned down...it's just obvious once you walk in. I didn't want to judge the book by its cover by giving them a shot. it looks like this is my biggest mistake. Please run away from this store as fast as you can
I was able to visit this vendor and find my dream dress. The sales consultant, Dora, was so patient. I think I may have went three times and tried on tons of dresses on each visit. Dora was there each time and she was so very patient as well as helpful. I went by myself because I did not want to have to deal with all of the opinions. I also visit other bridal shops but the prices and the selection was so much better at Bridal Depot.
I loved shopping here for my dress. I ran across this store while driving around Houston and I loved that I could just look through all of their dresses and try on as many as I wished. Did not have to wait on an hr long appointment and only try on 3 dresses. I also recieved a 50% discount as they had the designs in early. They have an alteration store on site who is AMAZING!
Rose was such a sweet girl. She found my wedding dress with ease. She was so helpful. Sometimes they forget to call you when things come in but their dresses are top notch!
The Bridal Depot is located on the third floor of a unique wedding vendor building and definitely worth checking out. I stopped by after work, by myself, decided to try a few dresses on & unexpectedly found "the one". The dress fit perfectly with only minor alterations needed. Rose, the salesperson, told me that the dress was discontinued by the designer, I could not order it and I would not find it anywhere else. She told me that there were three other brides coming to look at it the very next day (on a Thursday) and that she could not hold it for me. This definitely felt like a high pressure sales tactic, which I certainly do not care for, but I loved the dress so much that I did not want to call her bluff. I bought the dress that night with no regrets. I did look up the designer (Maggie Soterro) and the style only to find one used gown, larger size, in CA. Because the dress was discontinued & the floor sample, it was discounted almost 50% but still almost $1,000. I wasn't looking for a designer gown, I just wanted something that I loved, looked gorgeous in & would cherish forever.
When I first walked in to Bridal Depot, I wasn't sure if I should continue to go in or turn around and walk away. The place is in an older building and a little run down. But I had gone to several locations and I figured I would look around.
I am glad I did because this is where I found my dress. Rose was very helpful when it came to ordering my dress. She even was able to include alterations, veil and tiara.
Dana from alterations did a great job with making my dress fit me exactly as I wanted.
My dress was ordered and came back okay, then the nightmare began. Big mistake going to get a few alterations and bustles done, turned into a complete nightmare, endless visits back and forth to continue fixing the same errors over again, needless to say wedding is over and dress is still not right.
I found the dress of my dreams at Bridal Mall and the price can't be beat. However, the owner is not very friendly. The staff working there are helpful though. As far as my dress goes I was very pleased.
I found my dream dress at The Bridal Depot and at a great price! After I found my dress, I searched other boutiques to see if they offered it for cheaper, but no place could beat The Bridal Depot's price! Granted, this is not the "prettiest" boutique I have visited. It could use a lot of updating. And at other boutiques, there was someone on hand to help me try on the dresses. This just doesn't happen at The Bridal Depot. You are on your own. But the staff was very friendly and I walked away feeling very satisfied with my purchase. I definitely recommend The Bridal Depot to any bride looking for a beautiful, quality dress for a reasonable price!
I was looking online for the perfect wedding dress. I found on the Bridal Depot's website that they carried the dress that I wanted to try on. I took the picture with me and when I got inside, the woman (Rose) said, "That's going to be the dress that you buy, you are going to love this dress on you." It was the first dress I put on, and it was the dress that I bought. Every other dress that I tried on, I kept comparing to that dress. Boy was she right!
It was love at first sight. I knew exactly what I wanted but couldn't express it. I had been to a bunch of different stores with no luck. Dora was very helpful and extremely nice, I had no idea that I needed to order my dress at least 6months prior to the wedding. (I know, silly me) Anyway, she got me the dress in time and it fit absolutely perfect, no alterations were needed whatsoever!!! I also got my veil and tiara from there and they were amazing. :)Thanks Bridal Depot!!!!!!!
I found my perfect wedding dress at their shop. They gave me a reasonable price on the dress. They told me it would be in on one date, but it came two weeks late. The part that truly frustrated me was with the bridesmaids dresses. They came two weeks late as well (I can live with that), but one was not there. They told me it was because my bridesmaid ordered late. I asked to see the file. She had ordered it three weeks before the deadline. They told me not to worry it would be in the next week and they'd call me. They never called. I called them and they said it would be another week and they'd call me when it arrived, again no call. This went on for four weeks. At one point they called her to come get it. When she got there (she lived in Austin) they said they'd made a mistake and it was not there. Finally, I called and they said it was in the store. I told them she'd be there to get it the next day. She went to get it, and they told her it was locked in storage where they could not get it. I called to find out where the storage unit was to find out it was only downstairs. Moral of the story she got her dress a week and a half before my wedding. It was a giant hassle and I would recommend people stay away from this place!
I found my perfect dress in thefirst visit. the store associates where very helpful and they have an alterations place in the building.
The service here is ok. Not bad, but not great. I went in looking for a particular dress, but they had sold the sample. After looking at many other dresses, I just went ahead and ordered my original pick without trying it on. My dress was perfect! The salesladies were friendly and helped me in anyway I asked.
They matched the price when I found the dress cheaper somewhere else; They are very unorganized. I ordered my veil from here and they never bothered to call and let me know that it was discontinued and not coming in. I had to call and see what was taking so long.
