Absolutely perfect wedding. I was so unstressed throughout the planning process because of how great of a job the crew here does! Endless compliments to the chef as well, the food was incredible (and all of my guests thought so too!) our coordinator, Heather, was phenomenal and I was treated like royalty the whole weekend there. Thank you so much!!
The Cannery is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect spot for our wedding. I knew when attending a wedding 3 years ago that I could see myself getting married here...and I did! The staff at The Cannery was very helpful in making our day special. We love that so many things are included and "bundled" and we basically pay one price for things like the venue, DJ, linens, drapery (optional), wedding coordinator, bridal suite, and catering, even including the wedding cake! We did not need to go out of our way to seek out rentals, linens, tableware, decor, florals, etc that you'd normally need to do, which made it easier so we had a main contact for everything. We loved the florist we worked with, through them, Mary. The cake and desserts were phenomenal- thank you, Samantha. The food was amazing, the DJ (Deaf Geoff) were all excellent. We got many compliments from our family, friends, and guests on this venue. Thank you for helping to make our day special!
We had the BEST day at The Cannery! The venue was exactly as advertised - the owner runs the venue and day in a specific way which was fine with us! We had family traveling from CT and OH, so having an in-house bakery, DJ, and florist was great for us. The bridal suite was beautiful, and many of our guests said they loved the food. Our coordinator, Heather, was an angel on earth. She was AMAZING. She helped us feel comfortable and relaxed, and helped us make sure every detail was exactly what we wanted. Our wedding day was exactly what we wanted it to be, and we could not be happier!
I cannot speak any higher of The Cannery! Our day/night were absolutely amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Mary made sure the space was exactly what I envisioned. The flowers were even more beautiful than I asked for. Mary shared ideas and suggestions that took my visions to the next level. Our wedding coordinator, Heather, was with me every step of the way. She even gave me her personal cell number and I was able to connect with her at any time (this was HUGE as last minute things would pop up). Heather made sure everything was on schedule and exactly the way I had planned. My husband and I were over the moon with how our day went. We never wanted it to end. I would do anything to be able to relive this day/night all over again. I would recommend The Cannery to anyone and everyone!
The event space at the cannery is beautiful and rustic. However, the professionalism of the staff was a huge issue.
To begin, Dave was very disrespectful to the bride. She had overlooked a message with information about how to enter the space on the day of the wedding- it happens, she was overwhelmed with rehearsal duties and hosting friends and family. When we called him for information, he made a snarky comment stating "how smashed were you?" Implying that she was drunk and missed the message. Extremely unprofessional especially since he was not present for any of the rehearsal.
The day of the wedding the weather was in the negatives and when the bridal party entered the suite to get ready there was no heat. After attempts to adjust, the heat barely increased throughout the day forcing us to have someone (not from the Cannery) bring us a space heater. We were given many excuses as to why there was no heat instead of attempting to provide a solution.
On top of all of this, proper attention was not given to a couple who paid good money for the time and space. A zoom meeting was taken with a potential couple during the rehearsal, instead of providing assistance. On the evening of the wedding, we found out Dave was hosting tours for prospective couples during the event without the knowledge of the bride and groom who had paid for the private event. When we asked to speak with him about this, he conveniently disappeared and left his event manager to flounder and apologize on his behalf. These types of choices show that the venue is more focused on making money instead of attending to their clients who have already paid and deserve their time and attention. A bride & groom should not have to deal with these things on their special day.
Is the place beautiful? Yes. Is it worth having to deal with this kind of nonsense during your wedding? Absolutely not.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH DAVE STIRPE OR PREMIER WEDDING VENUES IN VERNON, NY! They owe us $13,600.00 for a wedding deposit for a 5/30/20 wedding that could not take place because NYS was shut down due to COVID-19. Dave and his attorney say they will file bankruptcy before they give us our money back. This is abhorrent. They are still having weddings, have a half dozen venues, and are remodeling a new building with their bakery. He just wants to steal the money with no services provided. This is not the person or the the business that you want to entrust one of the most important days of your life with nor your hard earned money. Tell your friends, tell your family, and tell them to tell theirs. His Facebook name is David Stirpe.
Their venues include:

Dibbles Inn #dibblesinn
The Gatsby #thegatsbyvenue
The Silver Theater #thesilvertheatre
The Apple Orchard Lodge #appleorchardlodge
The Mason Jar #vernonmasonjar
The Empire Room #theempireroomvenue
The Bakehouse- they are currently remodeling this in a new space so obviously they are not bankrupt, just thieves. #thebakehouseatdibblesinn
I’ve had a hard time writing this review because it means the wedding is officially over and I have a difficult time putting into words how much I love The Cannery. It is the most amazing, beautiful, convenient, practical, and well organized venue. From day one with the owner Dave, I was sold and they continue to make updates to make it even more perfect, such as the mural quote wall outside. Our day was magical- beautiful weather, the greenery was impeccable, the food was delicious and the bar was flowing! We were over the top pleased with our wedding coordinator, Holly. She was fun, friendly, organized, made sure our day progressed smoothly and put up with our 22 person bridal party and crazy family members! She also decorated the reception room and made it perfect. Overall, I enthusiastically recommend The Cannery- if I could do it all over again, I’d still pick this wedding venue!!
We had our wedding at The Cannery in November 2018 and it was the most incredible day of our lives. Our wedding coordinator, Annalee, was amazing. We could contact her at anytime and she would answer all of our, (my) sometimes ridiculous, questions. She made the day from start to finish flawless. The bridal suite is gorgeous and got nothing but compliments from our bridal party and was such a great space to get ready in. When apps and dinner rolled around we and all our guests were blown away by how delicious the food was! Again, Annalee being amazing, made sure I had a tablecloth around me so I wouldn't destroy my dress with bbq sauce or something tragic. All night long the bartender dealt with a very busy bar with ease. Our cake and dessert options were out of this world and a huge hit amongst guests. I'm still dreaming about it. The staff here never once over looked a small detail and took care of everything. Sadly the night came to an end but even that part was made so easy with the help of the team at The Cannery. They packed everything up and made sure it was safely loaded into cars. Speaking from very recent experience planning a wedding gives you plenty of reasons to stress but the team at The Cannery will put you at ease. They are incredibly professional and on the day of, make you feel like the only wedding of the year. I can't even count the number of compliments and texts we've recieved saying things like, "best wedding ever", "amazing night" and so on. Book your wedding at The Cannery!
After looking at countless venues, one tour from David sold us on the Cannery. Our wedding reception was incredible, the giant buffet of food was delectable, and the service was fabulous. Our wedding coordinator, Renee, kept us on schedule and made sure that we were able to eat and enjoy ourselves! David even personally came to wish us good luck as newlyweds at the reception!
Our day would not have been as perfect as it was without Renee. She made everything seamless and kept me calm! She was a godsend.
We loved every second of our wedding. From the atmosphere to the execution everything was amazing. I love the packaging that The Cannery has- it was the main reason we went with this venue. There is no guess work about extra fees, everything is presented to you as a price per person. I loved how the cake was included (and Mackenzie is a great pastry chef!), the late night pizza and the open bar along with the meal. It made everything so much easier knowing this. The bridal suite is a thing of Pinterest dreams and I loved getting ready in that space for hours before the wedding, it put me in such a calm and happy mood. Diann is a fantastic coordinator and we are so glad she was assigned to us! I received so many compliments on The Cannery as a venue and how beautiful it is from the chapel, to the inside reception room to the outside fire pit. I would recommend this place to anyone.
First of all, Penny is amazing. She was my assigned wedding coordinator and I couldn’t be more grateful. I absolutely adore this woman and cannot say enough wonderful things about her.
Aside from Penny, working with Barb and Dave was fantastic. They’re such fun and kind hearted people. Dave was there the day of my wedding making sure everything was perfect. When planning a wedding ( and being a perfectionist) it’s so great to work with other perfectionists and that is exactly what Dave is. He made me feel so confident in his staff, the venue, and even a little better about the outside temperature (NEGATIVE 26 that night). He even made sure the outside fire pit was lit. It was a beautiful touch that was appreciated by many!
Six months later people are still talking to me about the food! The butternut squash raviolis are heaven! And the cauliflower gratin was my favorite. My dad, foods biggest critic loved the prime rib station! Just wait until your food tasting! It’s soooooo much fun! Go hungry because you certainly will leave with a full and happy stomach. The food was warm, delicious, and just beautifully prepared. The bartenders were so happy and just funny! All of the staff went above and beyond for us. I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
Our guests had a blast. And the champagne fountain was the icing on the cake!
Speaking of cake…. Makenzie, the pastry chef is just wonderful. We were able to customize our cake and cupcake flavors. Go to her with an idea, she’ll make it a reality. For me, it was the pink champagne cake pops that sold me on the venue. My mom and I actually met Dave at a wedding expo, had a taste of the cake pops and were sold! After we visited the newly renovated facility the rest was history.
I totally understand how big of a decision this is… I recommend Dave and his incredible staff Dibbles/The Cannery with my whole heart. This was the best day of my life and it wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of them.
Dave was able to sell us on his vision for the Cannery before it was even close to being done! Everything he promised was delivered, from the shuttle services, to the admission to Lava at the Turning Stone, to the vendors within our budget! Holly was the BEST wedding coordinator we could have asked for! She knew exactly what we wanted, and executed our vision perfectly...something I as the bride was with OCD was a bit worried about! It was like she could read my mind. The additional touches she added were perfect as well. The wedding rehearsal, ceremony, and reception went flawlessly, and she had us completely at ease the entire time! Being able to just show up and pick up our belongings a few days later left us able to relax and enjoy our first day as newlyweds. I cannot say enough about how FABULOUS she is!
This reception was amazing. I got compliments throughout the entire night and into the next week. People cannot stop talking about the industrial feel, the food, and the atmosphere. Renee, Dave, and Barb were wonderful and made sure it was exactly how my husband and I wanted it. Would recommend this venue to anyone!
The venue was absolutely gorgeous! So very unique and all wedding guests loved the rustic/industrial feel. There were some promises by the venue leaders that were not kept but overall, the wedding day went by smoothly and so beautifully. The food was fantastic and so was the service.
terrible ownership
Absolutely fabulous venue! Holly and the rest of the Cannery staff did a fabulous job. Everything was spectacular! I highly recommend this new and stunning venue. From the beautiful fenced in grounds, walkways, fire pit, outside courtyard for ceremony and then mingling after, to the chapel being right there in case of rain.. The huge bridal salon to have hair and makeup done on site with mimosas was such an added bonus! Their wedding packages take the stress out of booking many different features, as they will do it all! I can't say enough about this "all inclusive" wedding venue!
Attended a wedding reception recently @ the cannery not a good experience first off the appetizers & the buffet where served look warm second the Ac was set so low it was freezing after several complaints to the staff nothing was done to correct the problem. Last but not least the manager was more interested in talking to the girls @ the bar than doing his job
I can honestly say, without a doubt, that the staff at The Cannery could not have done a better job than they did on Saturday night for our wedding. Pam and Dave were dreams to work with - and I now refer to Pam, the coordinator we were assigned, as our angel. It wasn't just that the setting was perfection, it's that the staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to make your day perfect. If you are looking for a venue that is not only beautiful but also one that comes with employees who truly care about making your day unforgettable, then you MUST book your wedding at The Cannery. If you're worried you may have a moment wondering "what if we had done something else," you won't. This venue and team of professionals will make your day the one you have dreamed of. Your forever should begin at The Cannery.
We were excited to be invited to the soft opening of The Cannery by Maria MaCrina and we were not disappointed. Your new venue is beautiful and well planned out. The mixture of old and new is pleasing to the eye and no detail was overlooked. The food was excellent; the staff considerate and well trained. The chapel is charming and he terrace complete with a fire pit inviting. We had a lovely evening and have spread the word!
We had our wedding here on Saturday and it was beyond perfect! The venue is absolutely stunning, we had exceptional service and the food was delicious! Everyone is still raving how unique and beautiful it was. They keep stating it was one of the best weddings they have ever been too! We want to give a HUGE thank you to Joanne, Barb & Dave for helping us plan the best day of our lives. Everything was absolutely on point! Anything we needed you did, no questions asked! Thank you so incredibly much! We absolutely recommend this venue for your wedding day!!
Everything was perfect!! Our venue was actually The Cannery and we did not stop hearing compliments all night! From the food and service to the incredible decor both inside and outside. Joanne, our wedding coordinator, was so calm and collected all evening that it put both of us at ease. Words can not describe how over-the-moon ecstatic we were with our special day. Thank you!!
We can't even begin to express both my love and gratitude for all of the Cannery staff! Dave, the owner, thank you for making this possible. Holly, our wedding coordinator, you were so sweet and helpful, thank you so much for making our day even better than we could have ever imagined! The cannery is the most gorgeous venue! I had compliments all night from friends and family, saying it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to! The food was awesome as well! Everything was perfect, highly recommended!!!
This venue is one of a kind and truly amazing. Not only is it the first of its kind in the area, the staff and layout make it the most beautiful place for a wedding. I could not have been happier with our venue choice! The food and desserts were amazing (I was allowed to customize our menu, just ask) and Joanne did a fabulous job keeping the day going smoothly. Thank you to The Cannery and Dibbles Inn staff for making my day one I will never forget!
I can't thank you enough for your help with planning our beautiful wedding reception. (especially from Chicago). It was truly amazing and great to see how it came together! We had so much fun celebrating and wish it could have lasted longer! Please thank the chef , pastry chef, and all the other staff for their service!

I wish I could tell you about the inside of the venue, but I didn't make it that far. I drove over an hour to view this venue tonight after confirming with David we would meet at 4:30. I called the number and stated my name, saying I had an appointment and wasn't sure where to enter, it didn't look as though anyone was there. The woman I spoke with on the phone stated she wasn't on site, but took down my information and said she would have someone call me. I waited until 5, a half hour after my scheduled appointment and still hadn't heard from anyone and nobody was at the venue to meet me yet. I ultimately decided I wouldn't book a wedding with someone who doesn't value my time and left. It's now 7 pm and I still haven't heard back from anyone there.
Intially, I felt the emails I exchanged with David were short and not too friendly/helpful. I attributed it to the fact they are a new venue, they may be busy. I'm an understanding person, but the blatant disregard of my time was shocking. I had to line a babysitter up to look at the venue, traveled over an hour, waited a half hour and drove over an hour home without a word from any employee there. If that doesn't tell you enough about their customer service or their concern over a potential clients wedding day than I don't know what will. Extremely disapppointed.
Although the place is absolutely STUNNING! It is by far affordable! I looked into this destination and did not see a flat rate only saw a food menu. Well my family is supplying food to save money so I emailed a simple question about pricing and if they would allow us to supply our own food.
I figured if the answer was no I would get something politely sent back like ' I'm sorry but we only do the catering for our business" or something along the lines of that. But instead I got a flat answer of "We don't do that."
I'm sorry but I find that response so unprofessional and sort of rude sounding.
Also I see this is labeled as "affordable" but the minimum you would be paying is around 11 grand! In this area of new York I don't see how that is affordable!
