About this vendor
A beautiful echo of our local fields and forests
The Chalet at East Hill Creamery is a rustic wedding venue in Perry, NY, offering newlyweds a fairytale location to tie the knot. Nestled between Silver Lake and Letchworth State Park, this site comes complete with endless photo opportunities and jaw-dropping backdrops to ceremonies. The Chalet at East Hill Creamery, constructed in 2015, was originally designed as a visitor center where guests could view the creation process of some of the best artisan, grass-fed cheeses in Wyoming County. Owners Gary and Betty Burley designed the property to incorporate the natural beauty of the local lumber with the open, bright atmosphere of the countryside to create a stunning community area. Now welcoming couples and their families, The Chalet at East Hill Creamery takes pride in hosting intimate ceremonies and romantic receptions.
The Chalet offers four rooms for use during the wedding celebrations, with space to accommodate up to 184 people. Two private get-ready rooms are available for the newlyweds and their respective wedding parties to avail of in preparation for their walk down the aisle. The Silver Lake Room is ideal for welcoming guests, cocktail hours, or intimate receptions, with space for a dance floor and wedding DJ or band. Dinner and receptions can be served in the Alpine Room, a romantic area that can be decorated for an indoor ceremony.
Couples can avail of the skills and talent of the in-house culinary team at Old Souls during their event. A selection of wedding packages is also available to ensure every occasion gets the treatment it deserves. The Pine Package is a one-day celebration option that includes access from 7 a.m. to midnight, tables, chairs, set-up, and tear-down. Larger packages include space for rehearsals, catering options, a dessert bar, a four-hour open premium bar, a coffee bar, and rentals of china, glassware, linens, and flatware. Nearlyweds are invited to contact the team at The Chalet at East Hill Creamery with any questions on booking this dreamy venue for their big day.

We had our wedding there on 8.21.21. Let me start by saying we had the absolute best time and great wedding we could’ve asked for. Josh was more than amazing to work with. He always was available whenever I had a question and was just great to work with. The food was INCREDIBLE, and they were so nice by even making us up some to go things for the groom and I to take to the hotel the night of the wedding. Would 100% recommend them to anyone that is looking for a wedding venue!
East Hill was amazing! We had our wedding there. Josh and his team took care of so many details for us. With the tables/linens/plates&cups etc all included. They were ready to handle any hiccups for us, help with any extra details, and really were the reason for a perfect day! We loved having venue access for the whole weekend and that really came in clutch when our Sunday outdoor event got rained out and we moved it to the Creamery. Josh is also the cater in-house with Old Souls catering and the food was awesome! He was ready with all of our off the wall suggests and requests! Highly encourage to do both the venue and catering with Old Souls. The owners of the creamery were also so gracious to help us out too! Plus they have fabulous cheese and all of our out of town guests loved visiting the shop downstairs! Cannot recommend them enough for anyone looking for a fabulous venue in an adorable small town!
Absolutely wonderful. The venue itself is beautiful and I can't say enough wonderful things about Courtney. My day went off without a hitch and I couldn't be happier. Even my photographer was impressed with Courtney and how professional and helpful she was (and I'm sure he's had to butt heads with coordinators before).
Any questions?
I have mixed feelings.
The venue is beautiful, and everything happened best it could.
Now here is my bad experience, started the day before the wedding, I was setting up my decorations for the venue 1 day before, my accessories and dress out, and they started to show off the venue space to COMPLETE STRANGERS, all my personal stuff was being looked at, some picked up, it was extremely uncomfortable! Next, I over paid for 45ish people who never came, I expressed my concerns at the beginning that not everyone would come, and they said we'd work it all out at the end. I'm out a few hundred. Then, I had to pay for my own dishwashers, they expected my caterer to do it? Is that normal? The coordinator, I was told yelled at some of my guests goofing off at their table. I feel like the communication is at a minimum until you've paid a substantial amount of money, and then you don't even get any back, I get its non refundable, but it's a cheese shop, pay me back in cheese, I dont care, i feel really uneasy about the whole thing.
Response from the Vendor on 08/13/2019
Hi Emma,
I'm so sorry to hear you were not completely satisfied with your wedding day and I wish we could have addressed your concerns in the moment rather than after-the-fact.
I'm sorry your personal things were handled by strangers... They ...
really should not have done that. But we do regularly allow potential clients to observe wedding set up.
Catering, by standard practice, does handle all dish-washing duties. No-where in our contracts do we offer dishwashing services. I'm not sure how that miscommunication happened but I am of course sorry it did.
As far as refunds go, we do of course clearly state that the final head count and payment is due 30 days before your event. We even verified this with you when we had you sign your second contract (the one that outlined your customized payment plan). We were of course able to use your over payment towards other items on your invoice when your final number changed. As far as guests who did not attend go, that is unfortunate but the fact of the matter is that we still put the work in so that those guests could attend. I hope you understand we were just doing the job you hired us to do, and we need to be paid for it.
And finally, in regards to your guests goofing off: As I approached a table it was clear they had shoved a party favor into a water bottle, one that would take quite a while to remove as the lip of the bottle is quite small. They caught my eye and immediately jumped in surprise and dropped what they were doing. I politely smiled, but shook my head, disappointed. They offered to get the item out of the bottle by the end of the night, without my prompting. I replied "that would be wonderful!". I don't know about you, but I would hardly call that yelling.
If you have other concerns about your experience with us, kindly privately email me and we can go from there. Again, I'm very sorry your big day was not everything you had hoped for.
All the best,
The team at EHC
This venue is truly a treasure. The high wood beam ceilings are interwoven with beautiful twinkle lights, which frame the two expansive dining rooms. The whole place is jaw dropping when you step inside; we received so many compliments from guests !
Courtney helped make our wedding day perfect in every way. She was calm, professional and so kind . She is truly amazing at what she does.
I highly reccomend this venue and Courtney!
This venue is not only beautiful but the coordinator, Courtney, does an amazing job making sure everything runs smoothly. I had to plan my wedding in NY from Virginia and Courtney helped me every step of the way from finding the perfect vendors to setting up the day of my wedding. Our wedding was perfect and I would not have changed a single thing! I believe this is due to the wonderful people at The Chalet at East Hill Creamery. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!
